Absolutely worst service ever!

Racist policies and unacceptable business practices. I certainly hope Whitehorse has other lodging available when I come to visit.

Racism is unacceptable. In this day and age people should be treated the same. Your staff is very racist and I’m highly recommending a boycott of your hotel to all my business contacts and First Nation vendors.

Location was great, middle of downtown. The rooms were okay, though I noticed that the floorboards were uneven, and the bed board had some layer of dust. To me though, all I want is a clean bed and quiet surroundings which I got, satisfied.

Good staff but this hotel has been run into the ground by excessive number of tour groups. The carpet needs to be replaced in total to remove the stains and smell. This hotel feels like it is about to collapse under pinning required.

Location was great. Short walk to several places. Hotel is an older building with small rooms. Had to put luggage on one of the beds to have room to move and access the luggage. Staff was great!

The hotel is clean, but if Holland America owns this, the executives need to visit this place to see if it meets their standards. IMO, it does not. This place is run down and needs a significant refurbishment in the worst way. The staff in the restaurant were nice, but throughout the hotel there seems to be an attitude of "I don't care. " Lamps not plugged in because no outlets were within reach of cord. Signs in room said don't run a/c, or microwave or hair dryer together. See pic The service in the restaurant was horrible. Spouse's water wasn't brought until we were done with meal when she came with check. Food was awful. Our room did have a/c but you had to leave window open to let it vent. See pic. City workers were working on street at 0430 am! Really?! Back up beepers and heavy equipment woke us. Come on Westmark. We can do better. Tell the city hotel guests don't like that. My spouse suggested, if people want to see Denali (which is why we took this trip) just cruise or fly them into Anchorage or maybe Skagway. No need to drive through the Yukon.

Great hotel, older but clean. Everything seems maintained well though. Nice restaurant attached, and Sam the bartender is amazing.

Tired, dirty and maybe too pet friendly. A very tired property, the siding falling off the exterior should be your first clue. The level of cleanliness in our room was very poor, little pieces of dirt and dust everywhere. It was clear that the floors were not cleaned prior to our arrival, maybe not for days. Sat on the sofa and felt itchy after a several minutes, fleas? The bed was fine, the pillows were lumpy, foam things. The restaurant and bar look like they were last renovated in 1967 The Westmark is okay for a one night flop and go, but I would avoid it.

Employees are very courteous and responsive. They also have a tour bus for touring the outer areas. Pet friendly too! My cat enjoyed his stay!

The rooms are small no central air, the window is broken, no coffee in the lobby, the hotel is noisy with diesel trucks and buses outside, floors are stained and the hotel overall is run down. I recommend the Yukon Inn or Days Inn.

Why can't I give zero stars? I couldn't be paid stay here again! The place didn't have carpet so we heard every person who walked by our room, we also heard doors slamming over and over and people yelling at one another. The rooms were small and cramped. The walls are pretty thin so you hear your neighbors loudly through that joining door thing. Parking is a complete nightmare, good luck finding a spot to park if you are towing anything, oh good luck just finding a spot in general.

I attended for a conference, and the meeting room was extremely warm, to the point where it was uncomfortable for everyone I spoke with. The food provided for lunch was plentiful, but definitely not as good as what we've received in the past at another location.

Went for breakfast. Very dark environment. Food is adequate. Wouldn't go out of my way to return there. Lovely waitress.

Had the soup and half sandwich special. Mushroom soup was the choice of the day and it was very good. The half sandwich was ok.

The staff and cleanliness of the rooms was great. Located right downtown, convenient access to a lot of cultural and historic places around Whitehorse. Wonderful experience there.

Excellent guest services.

It is in a great location, steps away from the main road and the river. The free shuttle to and from the airport is an added bonus. The catered food is absolutely amazing! However, the decor is outdated, the temperature is inconsistent (very hot is some conference rooms and bedrooms), the hot water in the showers takes a while to come by, and all the sites at the entrance were broken during my stay.

Good location in the village, good hotel quite spacious rooms.

The banquet selection was tasty. Warm, cozy atmosphere. The staff were working very hard.

Staff friendly, courteous, and pretty efficient. Hotel is old and tired though. I had a room with a lot of noise that I couldn't initially understand. Then figured it out, I was situated above the sliding entrance doors over the lobby that were pretty much in action 24hrs… The room also had a strange aroma, but overall was clean enough, and I would stay again, but certainly not above the reception area.

We stayed at Westmark for two nights. It was a good location in the middle of Whitehorse and other downtown locations. Our room was decent and spacious, with fairly good scenery as we were on the 3rd floor. The room itself was very clean, and room service seemed to tidy our room up very neatly when we came back for the second night. The staff were all very friendly. On the negative side, it seems like building management needs work because I was worried at first because the front door was broken and looked unprofessional. The room also had no ventilation/air circulation so it became really stuffy without a window crack open and fan on. I didn't use the coffee maker because the part where you put the water in was unclean (which was troublesome because we had a coffee addict within our group and he woke up cranky every morning due to lack of caffeine! ). Additionally, our washroom door did not close properly, so you can push it open even when locked. All were not dealbreakers, but did raise some questions when we were staying there. Overall, I had a good experience at the hotel, and would come back again.

Rooms are a bit worn down. We were at the end of the hall and could not get hot (only tepid) water during peak hours. Three stars for the above but pet friendly, great location, and friendly staff got back to four stars.

I booked last minute, just a couple of hours before arriving in Whitehorse, and they were able to get me a room with a king size bed in it. The hotel is nice, clean, and the staff is courteous. It is right downtown which is convenient for dining or pretty much any activities. There is not a lot of parking though, and if there is non available in the lot, you are forced to park on the street. I was fortunate to get the only parking space available when I arrived, but on a busy night, the available parking would almost certainly be insufficient.

I wrote a review several years ago for this hotel, but want to write an up date. We were on a Holland America tour and Whitehorse was our first stop. We enjoyed the hotel very much. The rooms were nice, the food and bar very good and the show was amazing. But, the reason for this review is because while I was there I was changing my earrings and a ring. I had my small ziplock bag with the few pieces of jewelry I brought with me for the formal nights on the ship. I had my mother's pave diamond ring too. Several days later I realized my mom's ring wasn't in the bag. Long story short, several calls from my the tour leader to the hotel but no ring. I don't know why but I decided to call when I got home almost three weeks later. I talked to the hotel manager — wish I could remember her name — and she called me back saying she checked with housekeeping, etc. But no ring. I thanked her and figured that was it. Darn, if she didn't call me a couple of weeks later and they found the ring in the heating vent during a cleaning. I figure several people were involved and any-one of them could've kept it, but the cleaner turned it into housekeeping who gave it to the manager who called me. I have since gone back to work in a jewelry store and wear the ring often. Every time I think of this hotel and the amazing, honest and gracious people who were involved. I can never thank them enough! I hope to return there some day, but I'll be more careful. Thank you again!

I travel extensively. 103 hotel nights in one year just for work. The absolute worst housekeeping I have ever experienced. Garbage not removed. Glasses, Kleenex etc not replaced. Wifi which was not free made me log back on several times a day. Very frustrating. In a four day visit I had to get my key card refreshed 3 times. Locals tell me that there is a bed bug infestation. Not looking forward to bringing that home. Very disappointed in this hotel.

I never stayed here however the restaurant was excellent. The food was delicious however the service was incompetent. Also being incompetent they were very kind and tried to listen. Forgot to put out order and we were waiting for awhile.

This place screams history. Good sized room and very clean. Great staff. Wish I could have stayed longer.

First of all, the hotel is really over-priced. The building is very old. The rooms are clean but they still feel really old. Even Wi-Fi being free, it doesn't work. The gym has almost half of equipment not working. Parking is very limited so staff asks you to park on the street but you need to move the car before 9am because parking is not permitted. I would recommend looking for better options in town for a better price.

Everything about this hotel is middling to average except for its decidedly terrible internet speed. I'm talking dawn-of-the-internet slow, like two minutes to load a page, while charging $146 per night for a room. It is the year 2016 and to not have at least decent wireless internet in a large hotel that does millions in revenue is disgraceful and lazy, especially since upon me complaining, it was clear that this is an ongoing/chronic problem. I don't particularly care what tech problem you are blaming it on, get it fixed now, or you will hopefully face a dwindling clientele due to scathing reviews such as this one. Is it that only the elderly, who do not know or care how to use it, stay here? Or that the hotel is chosen for them as opposed to by them (hotel patrons are 90% Holland America tour groups). This place is basically just another Holland America cattle pen, same as you will see in Dawson, Fairbanks, and elsewhere. It sucks because management/owners are surely savvy enough to know that 90% of patrons will never have the opportunity to be repeat customers, so why bother improving? Get em through, feed em their buffet slop straight off a truck, get em on the bus and off to Dawson… Repeat… I know that in a city where there is virtually nothing to tell hotels apart, there are enough reasons to skip a stay here… also, beds are garbage and everything is grungy and dated.

It's a place to stay. The staff is good but the accommodations could be better. The walls, floors, and ceilings are thin. My bathroom reeked of cigarettes and I could hear anytime anyone moved.

Good. Nice room and conveniently located. Tim Hortons across the street too. A couple blocks from the paddle boat you can tour. Helpful tour people.

The rooms are normal on average. Everything Worn something but it stops in borders. The Hotel is centrally located in the city so it is ideal for tourists.

Nice, clean and quiet!. Right in the centre of town!

Great bar. Service is great. Food is great.

The matress was very uncomfortable, conflicting info from different front desk personal about continental breakfast and my company discount that I was told works at all Westmark hotels was not given. (Not sure if this is the hotels fault or misleading info from my local Westmark in Fairbanks, AK)

It might look like a nice place to stay but don't be fooled. No parking if you are towing a uhaul or driving something large. Pet friendly? Yes, however there isn't anywhere to take your dogs to go to the bathroom. No refrigerator in the room, we were told they would bring one up. Never did. The "Wi-Fi" doesn't work in the rooms, you have to sit in the hallway to get signal. Mind you, you pay for the "Wi-Fi". So you essentially pay to sit outside your room. We were told for over 3 hours they were getting IT to fix it. Never did. This place is a joke. Don't waste your money.
