We have stayed at the Liahona guest house several times and have never been disappointed! The owners have taken time to pay attention to details that make for a wonderful stay. The rooms are always clean. We appreciated the snacks and small kitchen appliances that let us really feel at home.
On our most recent stay, we made use of the sauna every chance we had! So relaxing. A perfect addition to this lovely guesthouse.
We will definitely be back.

An idyllic setting. The Liahona Guest House is located near the end of a non-through fare road, surrounded by mature, west coast trees and the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The grounds are landscaped to highlight the beauty of Vancouver Island.
From the windows of our room we could watch the eagles soar, the heron fish, even the occasional seal emerge from below the water. The silence was almost tangible. During a previous visit during summer months, we had enjoyed the pleasing warmth of the fire pit. For this visit during the winter we relaxed in the Nordic outdoor sauna. It was hard to believe that we were just minutes’ walk from the downtown core, or a very short drive to the world-renowned hiking trails.
The accommodation. We have stayed in rooms 1 and 2, and we would recommend either. I’ll say up front that the pictures on the website do not do justice to what we experienced. Clearly the owners have invested in their Guest House: many of the furnishings are new, the walls are freshly painted, the beds and bedding are remarkably comfortable, and the bathrooms immaculate. The drawers and closets provide plenty of storage space.
The extra touches. Everywhere we turned we found the signs of proud owners who care about their guests. We were met with a friendly welcome. They were glad to offer advice or inquire about what we had gotten up to during our daily explorations, but they always respected our privacy.

Very comfortable. Safe, quiet, convenient and very picturesque location on tidal estuary. Clearly, the owners put a lot of thought into creating this guest house and furnishing its amenities which include robes, beach towels, snack basket, a small but thoughtfully accessorized "kitchenette", comfortable chairs on the communal terrace/ lawn area, and an outdoor fire pit (which could not be used during my stay due to dry conditions and forest fire danger… very responsible of the owners). They provided helpful suggestions for breakfast locations and very clear instructions for accessing the room (via text ahead of my stay).

Best guesthouse I have stayed in. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable bed and very well equipped. Plenty of complimentary snacks and tea/coffee for us. They even provided binoculars and beach towels for free. I would definitely recommend staying here. It was a lovely place.

We had a fantastic weekend away at Liahona Guest House! The location was perfect — only steps to a sheltered tidal ocean cove and beautiful scenery from the window! Several other beaches are easy to walk to… on one longer hike we saw a black bear across the inlet and many eagles flying overhead.
The room was beautifully appointed with many thoughtful touches. Wonderful, responsive hosts. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Just came back from my second birthday weekend at Liahona guest house. This year we explored the mountain trails last year we explored the beaches. I've already booked for July and I'm excited to show my Alberta friends Ucluelet. Breakfast was delish, the room clean and private.

Our stay was cozy and fun and we will return every time we come to Ucluelet for a visit. Our stay at Liahona not only included a wonderful breakfast, but we also made new friends.

The house was super clean and have the best hosts by far. The rooms were so beautifully set up and breakfast was delicious. Roy and Stuart and just amazing and know all the best spots to visit, shop and eat. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

We were very well received, breakfast at the top the owners (who are really nice) asks us what we want, coffee, tea, how to cook eggs, bacon. The rooms are nice and my holiday month I have to say this is the place where I slept best. Very clean place (possibilities to do laundry), not forgetting the breathtaking view of Ucluelet plunged into the mist. In short the top!

The house is perfect, Roy is extraordinary and the scene is unforgettable! We have spent the best moments of our stay. We had the best breakfast of the island, it is a place of paradise. We will never forget the moments at the Ucluelet where we saw our first bear passed in front of the house. Roy is very good advice and the language barrier is not a problem. A true time-share with Roy, thank you very much!

The breakfast was very good, the boss Roy said, because considering that many guests would go out to hiking during the day, breakfast must be full. His own baked West Point tasted good, not as sweet as the general West cloying. The boss is nice and helpful!.

Roy and Stuart have a beautiful B&B place nested in a quiet neighborhood of Uclulelet. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast was amazing with many homemade pastries. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. Room was very big and comfortable. Views over the river are amazing and we saw a bear! Owners are very helpful (lots of tips) and breakfast is excellent.

Very nice house, fantastic location and nicely decorated. The rooms are clean and spacious. The mattress was new, so the sleep was dreamy. Breakfast was prepared with a lot of love from the very friendly homeowner. All the ingredients were fresh. There was something for every taste. Occasionally there may be a wild visit to the terrace in the morning Hours: bears, wolves or deer. Stay calm and don't forget the camera:)

My husband and I stayed at this guest house and LOVED it! The hosts, Roy and Stuart were very pleasant, easy to talk to and made a fantastic breakfast using locally sourced farm fresh eggs. We were offered bacon, sausage, cereal to name a few things and this was all included in the price of the room! The room was bright, clean, nicely decorated and we felt welcomed from the moment we stepped through the door. With a beautiful view of the inlet outside our garden entry it made you feel like you had truly escaped. I would highly recommend the Liahona Guest House for a one night or multiple night stay! We can't wait to visit again.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This was hands down the best and most welcoming accommodation experience I have had. This was my first time staying at Liahona and I hope to be back again and again. Amazing, warm and funny hosts, gorgeous guestrooms and grounds and the peaceful location made for a wonderful getaway. I cannot recommend this place enough.
