We stayed there a few years ago and were charmed. On the other hand, for this stay, quite the opposite. Our room was in the Marquise section 300-400. First entering the block smell of cigarettes and humidity… then the room… too small, no storage… very cold. The wardrobe that serves as a wardrobe can barely contain 2 winter coats. No heating in the bathroom… a sink but no surface to put our toiletries or clothes. The mirror about to fall. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired… floor and shower room clogged… The bathroom door is retractable and makes a lot of noise. No vacuum cleaners were passed in the room… lots of crumbs and dirt from previous occupants. The pool have not dared to stay more than 15 minutes so it's doubtful… the water is cloudy and cold, the paint rises on the walls, the windows are filled with rust and mold. The floors are degreassed… in short nothing that inspires relaxation. We couldn't enjoy the pool despite choosing the hotel partly for it… For a 4 and has more than $180 a night… it's disappointing and we won't go back for sure. For the noise it was still good considering it was the break.

Very very good service the staff is fantastic and understanding we have had problems with the booking and they were very well managed, the room is rustic 1935, but it got a stamp that we will find nowhere else!

We stayed here with our kids ad had an amazing time. The reception staff wasn’t very welcoming when we arrived but everything else better than we expected.

The hotel was an amazing place to host our large wedding. It accommodated over 160 guests staying there, plus a wedding reception. The event spaces are beautiful, and the skiing, skating and sledding you can do on site is really fun for guests. The food is really really good, especially the late night poutine bar, and the bar had a great selection of organic wines and craft beers. The hotel and the wedding services are incredible value for money.

The staff takes your comfort and safety seriously. I have a dairy allergy and in the middle of the New Year’s celebration, they tended to my needs. We had a wonderful night! The food, service and animation was perfect!

Like previous reviews said, the hotel ended up double charging my credit card? After confronting the desk about it they agreed to give me back my money but did try to blame it on Expedia (who I did not even book through. ) Overall the hotel was nice, clean and very spacious. Aside from the double charging and the rooms having very thin walls (you could hear the people next to you using their bathroom water) the stay was nice.

Stayed here for New Years 2018 with my family and it was awesome! Hotel and amenities are great. Location has some really nice views, as it sits on top of a mountain. It's about a 5min drive from Autoroute 15. Plenty of food options in Saint-Sauveur, which is a 15min drive south. The buffet on-site is on the pricey side for given options but should please everyone. The bar downstairs has average food and drink prices and options, and it's open until 11pm or 12am. Rooms were decently sized and all furniture was in good shape. We stayed in the "suite" style rooms which included a small kitchenette. Our room was on the first floor and had a walkout to a small balcony area (smoking permitted on balcony). For skiers, Sommet Gabriel is available from the resort. I would visit again.

I originally made my reservation online and specifically requested a room on the first floor as I was traveling with someone with reduced mobility. When I arrived our room was on the basement floor which required going down a flight of stairs. Thankfully the staff were willing to accommodate. Rooms were clean and had a nice view. Towels were slightly old and would have appreciated a few plates and cutlery since there was a mini kitchen in the room. Hotel grounds were nice, there were several weddings the weekend of our stay. Hotel amenities are not very accessible if reduced mobility. Happy with my stay but would not come back for the price.

Rooms are very small for the price. Towels are shredding. Some staff do not speak English to the customers. As this is a international vacation spot they all should know English. This is Canada. Need to be more clear on the menu when translating from French to English. Beds were too hard for me but great for others.

No appreciation for it's clientele. I don't usually write reviews even when I had a bad experience but after having to call the booking site and hotel over 10 times in a 2 week span to get refunded a charge that was their mistake in the first place I do. Been there a couple of times and the hotel is old. Rooms are very small or very old, your pick!

This hotel gives zero appreciation to it's clientele. The property charged us around 150$ extra on the room and they are giving us the run around to avoid a refund when they are at fault. Me and my wife go up north every weekend and trust me there are so many better places then this one. Ps: Rooms are old and humid…

Speaking of the golf course, I went there 2 weeks ago and at the moment I would say I'm generous with my three stars; I am told that it is much more beautiful in the summer and that the frost has been particularly biting this year. Temporary holes (2) with non-existent greens on both, a dandelion field and $53.00 (with cart, without taxes), very expensive paid given the condition of the terrain. As for the cart, it is practically essential because of the slopes and distances between the holes. Good points for the 19th hole on the other hand since it is at the hotel itself and the waitress is very friendly. To follow.

The mother's day buffet was mind-blowing. It just gets better every year. You cannot get better anywhere for the price. From amazing meats to poke bowls, everyone will find their meal and a 5 star quality.

The beautiful point of view of my room! The food there is excellent… but no bath in my room but a Mexican type shower… cool but a bath would be nice!

Very nice place to spend a weekend (as much in winter as summer) with family with a very good restaurant. Affordable.

Classy place with an indoor pool and ski out access. We had room 201 which was right next to the pool entrance which is annoying because the door to the pool is constantly slamming which practically shakes the whole room each time. Other than that, no complaints.

Stayed for a weekend. Not luxurious but nice and convenient for skiing. The buffet is good. And the bar is nice.

When I go to this destination I will definitely plan to stay at this hotel.

For a one night relaxing stay everything is alright except the pool and spa which is basically a joke. A dirty pot whole with a small jacuzy, fulled with young people shouting and doing risky anx crazy activities. No mentor was on the site to stop them. In general the price is hight for the overall quality. Close to ski sties if you do skiing.

On December 31, 2017 we began to experience difficulties with the service provided by Mont Gabriel hotel. After our tour we came back to our room and were not able to take a proper shower as there was no warm water in our room at all. At the receptions they told us to go to the shower located at the pool area. After a short period of time, the heater/AC stopped working as well. At the time, the temperature outside was approximately — 30 C. After talking to the receptionist again, they told us that there were no more rooms and heater available, instead they gave us an extra blanket. As a result, they found a small heater which stopped working after 15 minutes and broke all the electrical outlets. We spent New year’s night in the terrible conditions and the hot water and heater/AC didn’t get fixed. We would recommend this hotel only to people who like to stay in extreme conditions at any season.

Hotel is located in a nice little town and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Staff was courteous. Room was functional but lacked a couch or sofa to sit on.

We were at this hotel for a one day conference. The facilities were beautifully rustic, the service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious. Not far off the highway, and it looks as though in winter you could ski to your room door. Beautiful place for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful chalet-style hotel perched on the top of Mount Gabriel which offers a nice view.
Lol comfort of the rooms is sum any summary, the bathroom tiny. The common escpaces are more spacious and confy. I got so cold when arriving in my room no heating set before my arrival and it didn't warm up enough in one night… The big plus of this hotel is the staff very helpful and nice.

Very dirty hotel from a to Z… Rooms (full of hair in the bath on arrival, carpet, foul smell…), common toilets (rubbish bins, no filling of paper, roll left on the top of the toilet, …), carpets in the stairs (ultra dirty and filled with dust) Etc… The only nice and clean place is the bar. Tasteless food and lack of varieties. The only good thing is the friendliness of the staff.

Really disappointed, worst night in 10 years. Last time it was there too. Not even the high season for a ski resort an paint is chipping in the shower. Mini fridge does an insane amount of noise every 10 minutes. Can't unplug its behind the safety box. Toilet too high, i'm 5'10" I could not have both feet on the floor. Only had a 1/4 of a toilet paper roll. When we told the desk lady, she took note of it. Didn't offered anything… Really?

WARNING*Make sure they don't write your Credit Card Security code on the imprint they take of your card; completely circumvents the security protocols of having the code on the back of the card… There's nothing wrong exactly, it just portrays itself as a 4* hotel when in fact it is a 2*. I've stayed at Hampton Inn motels that are much nicer and more "luxurious" than Hotel Mont-Gabriel. The walls are paper thin (I could follow the conversations next door & hear the coffee being made), the beds are uncomfortable & the Spa's opening hours are laughable; I'd never stay again. The hotel's appropriate price range would be ~$50 cheaper per night. Also, our first night was completely ruined when they originally placed us in a dirty off-site cottage instead of the room we had a reservation for. After threatening to leave, they eventually gave us the last room they had available (as they were fully booked) but the damage was already done.

Glorious, historic property with a variety of accommodations, including some with fireplace, others with patios and view of valley, the latter was absolutely amazing with the fall colors. Lovely staff, very accommodating! Nice spa with welcoming and relaxing environment. Sandra gave a wonderful massage and together with a gentle facial and pressotherapy for the legs, I left feeling 20 years younger. Good size heated outdoor pool, but it would be nice to heat a bit more in colder weather. The indoor pool was ice cold, but the hot tub was nice (be careful getting in-it is a long way down! ). The is a small bar menu that is readily available in the bar or for room service, but meals in the main dining room have limited hours and no room service (even though the Hotel directory suggests there is room service from the dining room). Regardless, rooms provide a small refrigerator, microwave and Kurig coffee maker, so eating in is nice especially if you get a room with a view! Thoroughly enjoyed our week-end. Thank you so much to everyone at the Hotel Spa Mont St. Gabriel for making our stay so enjoyable!

Stayed at the hotel for a few days as a part of a conference. Staff was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. Hotel had an old charm, yet was recently renovated. Faculties were great.

Room clean but a little cramped. The place is beautiful and renovated and the reception room for the wedding was great.

Need renovation, lots of obsolete rugs in common areas with dust odors. Really not inviting. It's a pity because the site is very good.

It's one of favourite get aways on top of the hill in St Adele. Great staff always a peaceful relaxing weekend away. 18 holes of, an outdoor heated pool as well as an indoor pool. Tennis courts and a spa.

Stayed over for a wedding. Great service and excellent views/location. Stayed in La Marquise building, and the rooms weren't too quiet. Could hear when other guests were outside or in the hall. But a lovely place all in all.

We had the whole family with us a group of 13 people and we had great service from the front desk and the staff. Janet the manager of the bar and pool area was exceptional. Her staff was Jackie, Sylvain & Jenna where very friendly and had smiles for all of us. I would go back without any hesitations just to be served by them again. Very small bed, the feet go beyond the bed. Bathroom very nice but poorly adapted, no bathroom counter. Great shower though.

I love the place. It's very clean. They clean the room every day. I found the place is very quite. One thing I really didn't like it was the bathroom door. It was see through. I went with my kids and uncle. I have to put some sort of cover for the washroom door. We used the towels to cover the door. It was very uncomfortable. Other than that, the place was good.

1) When I reserve a balcony room, I expect a balcony, not a patio. Telling me a patio is the same is just B. S. 2) Walls are thin enough to easily hear the neighbors soothing their crying baby. 3) The bar fridge made a lot of noise every time it turned on. 4) Who the heck thought that is a good height for a toilet? 5) Otherwise, room was clean and had a nice shower. I will never be back.

Clean and nice room, ready well before the time of arrival! Damage against the hotel was under renovation outdoor… It was not the advertised so beautiful view.

The ambiance, the food, the beautiful view in the mountain was breathtaking. (we could see skiers), inside and outside pool, the price, everything was perfect, it is on I would go again.

C'était pour un mariage. Très belle salle de réception, personnel courtois, belle ambiance de style chalet. Le roast beef du souper était un peu trop gras à notre goût et certaines toilettes publique bouché mais en dehors de ça les chambres sont très belles et modernes (pour les suites de luxe en tous cas).

We came to spend a couple nights, just a relaxing weekend, and it was a very nice and positive experience. What I think could be improved are: 1) pathways for pedestrians during the winter, especially for those located in relatively far areas, such as the Marquise; and 2) more parking space. On crowded days — — Saturday was one of those — — it becomes hard to find a spot to park.

The mattresses of beds are very hard. The rooms are far from the conference rooms. The food is OK.

Rooms are of a good standard. Helpful and friendly staff.

We have just to get married at this wonderful place. The service and hospitality are absolutely amazing, the place is magical, clean, very well located. We couldn't hope for more, professionalism is the key word of this place we recommend you without hesitation.

Staff is rude and refuse to speak English. Whole place smells like sewer back up. Food is discussing. Messed up our reservations. Put us in a room with a bed that comes out of the wall and charged us full price security guy is very ignorant and continued to tell us to go to our room by 3 am wth we are adults pool is freezing cold. Got sick on the food had to cancle massage but still was charged full cost of hour No heat in room. Rooms dark and no radio dirty.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was completely friendly and did their best to tend to our every need, making us feel like special guests. The hotel is right off the ski hills, you only need to walk a little. Special thanks to the staff at the bar. Good price and excellent service.

The walls are paper thin and the food is so bad. Really it is unbelievable how bad the food is for the prices they charge. Paid $45.00 for breakfast to only find can fruit in the fruit bar and the bacon was so over cooked it had no taste. Ended up going to my room and ordered food.

How impolite! I have never been at a place where costumers have been treated as disrespectful as at the Mount Gabriel Hotel. We stayed there as a research group last week presenting our work at a conference and even the most relaxed and laissez-faire people in our lab are very bewildered at why we were met with such a negative attitude. Constantly attempting to overcharge, being "bothered" by not uncommon requests and even yelling at a costumer once, this hotel has not left me with any urge to visit it ever again. AVOID if possible.
