We enjoyed our stay at L Hotel Montreal overall. The location is excellent for exploring Old Montreal and made it easy to walk to many attractions. The hotel staff were attentive, friendly, and very helpful throughout our visit.
The lobby was attractive and interesting to look at, giving the hotel a lot of character. However, the room we stayed in was in need of some TLC and could benefit from repairs.
The included breakfast was just okay — it consisted of two different pastries, and you’ll likely want to eat elsewhere if you’re looking for something more filling.
Despite a few drawbacks, we loved our stay and would consider returning for the great location and welcoming staff.

The Lhotel is in the heart of old Montreal, having access to all the good points in the city. Rooms were pretty clean, the carpet (I had seen in the other reviews that would be bad and dirty) was well kept and exhaled a a clean smell right after leaving the elevator. My room, which had a view looking out the street was really nice. It was very spacious, comfortable. The blanket was very thick, which was highly appreciated as I came to visit Montreal in the middle of the winter. Cleaning staff were nice and friendly and organized the room everyday after we went out. Staff in the front of the hotel were really awesome and helpful as well. I liked the decoration and the ability to buy souvenirs in the place. The breakfast that is offered is 2 pastries (they have pain au chocolat and croissant), two hot drinks and one orange juice. I ate out most days for breakfast but when I had curiosity to try it, I was impressed by how delicious the pain au chocolat was, it was really crumbly and really really enjoyed it. The hot chocolate was just the powdered stuff so I wasn’t much amused. In general, for the price I payed, this place is really hospitable and exceeded my expectations.

Fabulous Hotel! Nice collection of art on the walls throughout the hotel. Very comfortable lobby, bar area. Front of house staff are pleasant and helpful. Every aspect of the hotel, including our room was well maintained and show a designers flare. The 2 queen bedded room we had was without fault. The bathroom was well lit, plenty of hot water and showed no signs of any maintenance issues. Very clean. LHotel is in an excellent location for old port activities. Only place we will stay during future visits.

A good boutique Hotel right in the middle of Old Montreal downtown. Close to lots of things you want to visit.
Good size rooms. Clean and tidy and plenty of space.
There is a basic free breakfast on offer in the morning.
Valet parking is the only option if you wish to drive and park at the hotel.
The foyer looks a bit like hard Rock Cafe.

Overall this is a good hotel and I would stay again. The location is great and walkable to a lot of great spots in Montreal. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. We felt it was worth what we paid to stay. We’re docking a point because the breakfast included is very light, being just a croissant and coffee/juice. Otherwise we would definitely recommend staying here and enjoyed our visit.

Pros:
1. It is close to the underground walkway, it connects many places.
2. It is located in old Quebec, walking distance to the church and nearby for site seeing.
3. The TV got YouTube which is great which I found it is not popular through our trip in Ottawa and Quebec’s hotels.
Cons:
1. Valet parking cost $36 is too pricey which we can find nearby parking cost $24 for 24 hours.
2. The complimentary breakfast is the worst experience I ever had in a hotel which you have to queue up and ask the staff to have either croissant or pain au chocolate and beverage. I would feel better if it’s open to pick by ourselves as I feel stingy now.
3. No drink water supply in the hotel. But have coffee next to the lift lobby.
4. Too many movie posters hanging inside our tiny room, guessed that the posters are covering some defects as the locations are too random.

We loved this funky, art filled hotel. In this world of over luxurious, neutral toned decor in hotels, this was a fun place. Clean, super friendly and accommodating, and a reasonable price per night. Located in the old financial district, the architecture in the area was really cool. The Basilica right up the street, and we could walk everywhere. Our room was gracious and comfortable and we were thankful for the valet parking.

From the moment I arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive.
The place has a slightly vintage feel, but that's part of its charm.
The location is perfect for walking into Old Montreal or getting around by metro.
Honestly, I don't really have any complaints. Perhaps just the breakfast selection was a bit of a surprise; I'm used to having more choices at a buffet. But coffee and croissants are fine too, especially since they were very good, and that's coming from a Frenchman.

Our stay at LHotel was absolutely lovely. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out — the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. The high ceilings give the room an extra spacious feel. Lots of amazing art work on the walls of the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is just two blocks from Notre Dame Basilica, a short walk to the Hop on and Off bus stop and about a 10 walk to Old Town. We were there for a hockey game and the Centre Bell was about a 20 min walk. There are several coffee shops in the area along with restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

L Hotel is in walking distance to historic areas, restaurants and shopping. It’s a small boutique hotel with less than 60 rooms. We had incredibly spacious suites that were uniquely decorated. The artwork throughout is impressive. The hotel is in a building built in 1870 but the rooms have been updated. The staff was always friendly and helpful. A couple of things to keep in mind are the continental breakfast food and beverages are limited and they do not accept or carry cash. There’s a fabulous coffee house close by named Crew Co Coffee. There’s a gift store in the hotel that offers apparel printed onsite. We loved our stay there!

This hotel is lovely! Historic, yet the collection of modern artwork throughout makes it an eclectic and fun place to stay. Upon check-in we were greeted kindly and our room was large and comfortable. The valet car service was terrific and the staff there was helpful and friendly. Morning coffee, juice and croissants were a lovely way to start the day! The location of the hotel is perfect and we were able to walk everywhere around Old Montreal and Old Port and everywhere in between. We enjoyed our stay very much and if in the area again, would not hesitate to stay here again. Merci LHotel!

Probably one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us…. Helpful, friendly, thoughtful and exceptional. The room itself was clean, large and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was 2 croissants which were so delicious, orange juice and various beverage choices. The artwork displayed there was so unique! This place was absolutely fantastic.

I don't know what I expected when we arrived at L Hotel for our 5-night stay. We were pleasantly surprised!
The artworks on display were intriguing to say the least but made for good talking points.
Our room was quite spacious with plenty of storage space. I suppose someone has to have the room that overlooks the bins and that was us. I would avoid room 108 if you can!
Staff were pleasant enough and gave us some good ideas for when we were out and about.
The inclusive breakfast was two croissants and orange juice and or coffee. Not really enough to fuel the morning's exploring.

The hotel is beautiful, has a nice atmosphere, and the location is convenient. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was spacious — which I paid extra for.
However, several issues spoiled the experience:
• Parking: Booking states parking is $35 with valet service, but no help was offered. We were told to “find it somewhere in the back. ” Nearby parking was suggested for $70 by card or $60 cash — for less than 24 hours! Eventually, we found our own parking for $25.
• Cleanliness: The carpets are old and stained, and the rooms don’t feel fresh.
• Water: No bottled water in the rooms, and the lobby water cooler was almost empty in the evening.
• Elevator: Broke down twice during our one-night stay.
• Breakfast: Limited to pastries and croissants only.
• Staff: Front desk staff didn’t seem very professional and were more focused on talking to each other than helping guests.
For the price, we expected a much higher level of service and comfort. Great location, but overall overpriced for what you get.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at LHotel in Old Montreal, and I must say, it was a truly lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff greeted us with warmth and friendliness, making us feel right at home. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist with any request truly enhanced our stay.
One of the standout features of LHotel is the incredible artwork that adorns every hallway. It was a delightful surprise to discover such beautiful pieces that added a unique charm and character to the hotel. Each corridor felt like a mini art gallery, making our strolls around the hotel a memorable part of our visit.
Overall, our stay at LHotel was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and artistic getaway in the heart of Old Montreal. We can't wait to return!

This hotel is in a fantastic location in Montreal, everything right there. The hotel itself is a little different, not the crisp new build that sometimes we come to expect.
The premises are clean and cozy. The clientele is very good, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed. As we sat in the lobby area enjoying breakfast croissants/orange juice/coffee, there was a positive hum of activity from other guests.
Most importantly, the staff at LHotel are young, professional, and willing to help. I have never experienced the complete effort this group exhibits at ever turn. Their welcoming approach to guests is refreshing. I would definitely stay at this hotel when returning to Montreal.
