I stayed at SonoLux for five nights during a business trip to attend Montréal Design Week, and it was a wonderful discovery.
The art exhibitions throughout the hotel add a unique cultural touch to the stay. The rooms are exceptionally well soundproofed, which is a real advantage given the hotel's location in one of the city's lively and beautiful neighborhoods. I also greatly appreciated the workspace setup by the window, which made it very comfortable to work. The bathroom deserves a special mention as well for its multifunctional shower fixtures, and light design.
As for dining, Lumi was an excellent surprise. The dishes are creative, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. The grab & go breakfast is also outstanding. At first glance, the selection displayed on the high tables may seem somewhat limited, but once you take a closer look, you'll discover a great variety of high-quality homemade offerings. Everything is fresh, delicious, and carefully prepared, you never get tired of it.
The absence of a traditional front desk may feel unusual at first, as you walk through the restaurant to reach the self-service check-in desks. However, the service is efficient and reassuring: whenever assistance is needed, a quick phone call is all it takes for someone to arrive promptly.
And don't miss Subterra in the basement. Between the live performances, vinyl selection, jazz nights, and excellent cocktails, it's the perfect place to unwind and end the day.

My stay at Hotel Sonolux in Old Montreal this February was absolutely exceptional.
From the moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve stepped into a curated art experience rather than just a hotel. The lobby and common spaces are filled with stunning visuals. It genuinely feels like wandering through intimate art galleries. Every detail is intentional, artistic, and beautifully executed.
The service was flawless. Warm, attentive, and effortless. You feel genuinely welcomed, not processed.
The room was spotless and thoughtfully designed. Clean, elevated, and sensory in the best way. The lighting, textures, and overall aesthetic created such a calm and immersive atmosphere. It was both luxurious and deeply comfortable.
One of the highlights was Subterra, the speakeasy downstairs. A stunning lounge with incredible music and an unforgettable vibe. Again, more art, more atmosphere, more intention. It added another layer to the experience and made the hotel feel like its own little world.

Beautiful hotel. Great location. You can tell a lot of thought went into this place. From the decor all the way to the weight of the blankets, they thought of all the details. Friendly staff and very clean, highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back again.
