Hôtel Saint-Sulpice

Love this Hotel. From the valets to check in to room services everything is impeccable. Our rooms, hallways and public areas are always clean and fresh. This was our second stay at the hotel, and it is going to be our tradition to stay here when we visit. Located in the center of the Old City very walkable to every attraction in the area. Also great for bringing our small doggy.

We returned here after a wonderful stay last year at this time. We had a suite booked, but upon arrival, we were upgraded to the best suite in the hotel with spacious rooms, a comfortable king bed, and a spa bathroom with a huge tub and shower. Too bad it was late November and we couldn’t fully appreciate the enormous terrace with seating that must be idyllic in summer. Our dog is always a welcome guest as well.
The staff is on call and always accommodating. I would skip the restaurant; breakfast was not good. Pancakes arrived cold and hard. They were quickly remade and our breakfast comped; can’t ask for more than that.
The neighborhood is the best in the City; dozens of great restaurants within a short walking distance and lots of shopping nearby if that’s your thing. We rarely had need for our car. Will happily return to this very fine hotel whenever we return to Montreal.

We recently stayed for our anniversary and could not have asked for a better place to stay! First, the location is amazing. Very centrally located within Old MTL, walking distance to SO MANY restaurants, bars, and shops. The staff were all very nice and very helpful. They made us feel welcome and ensured we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are fantastic. Very spacious for a couple, and you would still have plenty of room even with kids. The kitchenette is so nice to have, to keep leftovers, drinks, and food in the fridge. The microwave and toaster are great for reheating, and the Nespresso machine is great for a quick and convenient morning cup, or afternoon pick me up. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Very comfortable, clean, excellent service. Convenient location for a vacation. Walking distance to see a concert at MTelus. We booked because the room had a separate living room & bedroom and was identified on La Route Verte as a cycling friendly hotel with bicycle storage and parking for our car. Was on main bicycle path so we could park our car while in Mtl and bike and/or walk around the city. I plan to stay there again next time we go to Montreal.

Hotel was really great, great location, delicious breakfast, nicest staff. Room was comfortable, with ample space. Heard people saying there wasn’t places to put away clothing, but we weren’t moving in for a month, so it was totally fine. It was 5 of us in the room including a 1 year old and 8 year old. Enough room for them to run around and the kitchenette was PERFECT. Location is in the middle of everything. Will def stay again.

Positive: The location of St Sulpice is perfect! We walked everywhere! The Cathedral is right next door and all the shopping and restaurants on St Paul right around the corner. The size of our room was outstanding — everything clean and inviting. Negative: The street noise was a little more than I would have liked on Friday night, but it was a minimal issue. The bed was so comfortable that we were able to sleep through it.

The hotel was immediately welcoming. From the valets, to the women behind the desk, to the restaurant staff; everyone was absolutely wonderful. The Notre Dame Apartment we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. The beds were a hit with everyone, we all slept great every night! The hotel breakfast was priced well and was absolutely delicious. From start to finish it was an amazing experience. We can't wait to come back!

You cannot beat the location of this hotel, it is extremely walkable, close to incredible restaurants, the river and a metro station is quiet close.
The hotel itself is lovely! Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable and the front desk accommodated our requests with efficiency and hospitality. Our room was facing the street, (on the fourth floor) and we found it to be quite quiet. The opening windows and the view of the street was incredible! The room we stayed in was decorated awkwardly, it had significantly empty spaces and was not thoughtful laid out. The TV was on one side of the room and the bed on the other so we couldn’t watch TV in bed which arguably is a top tier hotel activity but did not impact the enjoyability of our stay — just something to note.
We would recommend staying here, especially if you plan to spend time in Old Port! We are staying for the second half of our trip at another hotel and we are finding ourselves wishing we had booked our entire stay in Montreal at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel.

Overall my experience at this hotel was positive.
But…. There are literally no drawers for clothes, and the bed nightstands are tiny. Tiny, dark bedroom cubby cubes for storage that are placed in awkward spots. So much wasted empty wall space that could have dressers with drawers. And the lighting was very dark everywhere…. If my very spacious suite had been designed more thoughtfully, with a practical regard to function, I would have liked it much more.
The great thing about this hotel is the location! Located on the corner of the main drag that has all of the stores and restaurants, and literally next door to a beautiful huge church, which I recommend visiting.
And I’ll add that the staff is polite and very nice.

Perfect location to visit Old Montreal…close to everything. Walking into the lobby felt luxurious and yet welcoming. Room was spacious and comfortable. Linens were silky. Bed was a tad hard for my tastes. The bath, though perfect for a long hot bath, was difficult to maneuver due to its width and depth with no handrails to assist. All in all an absolutely wonderful place!

It was our first time staying at St. Sulpice Hotel and we were really glad we chose to stay here. We loved the location — it’s close to a lot of restaurants and shops, it’s right behind the Notre Dame Basilica, and it’s within walking distance from the old port. We got upgraded to a King Suite with a terrace and a view! Although we didn’t really need such a huge room, it was still a nice surprise. The suite was clean and comes with basic amenities and luxury toiletries, L’Occitane products. The hotel staff were great — they’re very friendly and warm. Every staff we saw (by the entrance, at the lobby, on our floor, in the elevator — they would greet us with a smile. ) On our first night, we had the unfortunate experience of being woken up in the wee hours of the morning due to loud noise (people talking and laughing very loudly at 3 in the morning! ) coming from the connecting room. We had to call the Front Desk 3 times to report the noise. The Front Desk staff was very accommodating and apologetic. When we checked out, we learned that the hotel automatically provided us a discounted rate for the first night — we didn’t need to ask. Their customer service is top-notch! Overall, it was a very nice stay and we’d love to stay at St. Sulpice Hotel again for these reasons.

We chose this location and stayed on the 6th floor. The unit was very spacious and perfect for our family of five. Both bedrooms had their own bathrooms, and the dining area was also large and convenient.
One issue I noticed is that the walls are not soundproof at all. Our neighbors happened to have several kids, and it was extremely noisy—so loud it felt like they were right beside us. The noise went on late into the night, and we didn’t rest well.
On the positive side, the hotel surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne on the table, which I confirmed with the front desk. It was a thoughtful touch since we had booked one of their largest suites, and we really appreciated it.
The only other downside is that the hotel parking does not accommodate pickup trucks, so we had to park quite far away. This was not very convenient for traveling with children and elderly family members.
Other than that, if you don’t mind some noise, this is a very good choice. The location in Old Port is excellent—everything is within walking distance, which makes it very convenient.

The front desk clerks were extremely helpful with recommendations and directions. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was super friendly. The rooms are spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was perfect for touring Old Town Montreal. Lots of good restaurants, close to the metro, and right next door to the Notre Dame Basilica.

Hotel Saint-Sulpice met all of our needs and beyond. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. Paul greeted us warmly, as if we had known him for years, and efficiently took care of our car and luggage. Sarah made check-in a breeze and explained the minimal housekeeping plan with a daily donation to the Terry Fox Foundation. I really appreciated all of the sustainability efforts the hotel made. All of the staff was friendly and attentive. We rarely waited for an elevator and loved the filtered water and ice machine just steps way from our room. Our suite was perfect with plenty of storage and space to relax. The bed and pillows were comfortable, allowing for great nights sleep. The location can't be beat being right in Old Montreal behind Notre Dame. The Place D'Armes metro stop was just two blocks away. I highly recommend staying here and am looking forward to staying here again when we return to Montreal.

This hotel is welcoming, beautiful and comfortable. The location right next to the cathedral in Old Montreal is great. If you are sensitive to street noise, choose a higher floor (we were on four), but it wasn't too bad, just a busy area. The valets came out and found us to park our car. Our room had fridge, microwave, good coffeemaker, even creamers in the fridge! Recycling was available, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not good, so go somewhere else. There is an amazing pastry/coffee shop right up the street.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Saint-Sulpice Montreal during late June. The room was clean when we arrived and housekeeping was consistently good. We liked the apartment-style room with its well stocked kitchenette, making it easy to make a quick meal. The room was thoughtfully designed with an enclosed section for the bed where doors can be shut to isolate it from the kitchenette/living area. We enjoyed little touches like the art they selected, the bedside lighting, and the built in closets available on each side of the bedroom. The location is excellent, and we enjoyed walking to different locations in the city.
Valet: We did not experience any issues with the valet service. They advise that you notify the valet 20 minutes in advance of wanting to use your car, and they always had our car pulled up in the front of the hotel within 20 minutes.
Heat/AC: We stayed in Montreal during an especially hot time period during late June (I believe it reached 90 F, or 32 C). The air conditioning worked wonderfully and cooled the room efficiently and quietly.
Noise: As others noted, there is construction occurring near the hotel. During our stay, the construction did not block us from driving up the street and parking outside of the hotel. We did not hear any noise from the construction in our room, but our room was higher up (3rd floor) and further away from Saint-Paul St W.

Our favourite hotel in old port. Rooms are clean, rooms has a kitchenette and great room layout. Last year we got upgraded to a suite and the balcony was gorgeous! This time we had a smaller balcony and the view of the courtyard was beautiful as well. Staff are also super friendly!
