I got booked at this hotel by a family friend and the guy at the front desk told me I had to pay a 200$ deposit or provide a credit card (which as a 27 year old I don’t have one) and when I tried to contact the person who booked it, the worker told me I have to leave the lobby because it was “against policy”, then when the friend called, he hung on her for refusing me.

I had great stay at hotel chrome. Me and my fiance enjoyed the new renovated room we got, and the lady at the front desk was super helpful. I will defenetly go back for a longer stay once everything reopens.

After being given a room with food on the ground we were swapped out to a room where we later found blood beside the pillows. The hotel did nothing about this other than offer $5 off our next stay. We won’t ever stay here again. Dealt with two workers. One was rude and the other was laughing. Disgusting. Highly doubt they are properly sanitizing during a pandemic.

This place shouldn't even get one star. Stayed here because we had to … what a mistake. There was left over food left in the room. And the best part … BLOOD ON THE WALLS beside the bed and in the bathroom. When we spoke to management, the offered a 5 dollar coupon for our next stay… and the woman began to laugh.
Don't risk the low prices. This place is disgusting, and should be shut down.

My daughter and her friends had a reservation. The borders between the USA and Canada were closed so they couldn't physically get there. They won't refund my money-only a voucher. Shameful to take advantage of people during a pandemic. Airlines are even refunding non refundable tickets because it's the right thing to do. Everyone should know how unaccommodating this hotel is! I'm extremely disappointed.

The customer service is horrendous. Very rude staff.

Very well a very beautiful city and very nice to the level of the friendly staff at the small care for us at breakfast time. Good advice for the visits.

They refuse to cancel the reservation, and they take money by force.

This is by far the worst hotel i've stayed in when visiting Montreal… I'd rather sleep in my car than at this "hotel" Once they have your money it's like there is no staff.

We chose this hotel because it was close to Place des Arts and we like to support independents when we have a chance. The front desk staff was very rude with the exception of the one evening staff gentleman who came to our room to fix our tv. Bedside lamp shorted out, shower head was stuck on one setting and the shower handle cams off in my hand. We were placed on a floor with univ students celebrating their reading week — seriously? It was noisy beyond belief — who books a family on a floor with that?! I can’t even begin to tell you have rude the front desk gentleman was — paid our $200 security deposit in cash and he was refusing to give us a receipt because ‘they had a record of it’ — scam! After reading the other reviews and their experiences with payment we are happy we insisted. How do they stay in business? We will never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone. If you are planning to stay here, be forewarned — don’t!

We just stood overnight. The rooms were great. Clean, spacious and comfy. The only thing I didn't like is the fact the breakfast was not included in the price. An extra $15.00 to have it. We paid around $145.00 CAD for 1 night.

What to say. The price is affordable but a $200 deposit is requested, including a 72-hour wait for the deposit to be cancelled. No paper confirmation is made. Otherwise the room is "acceptable" in the written sense of the word. The hotel is well located.

Do. Not. Stay. Here. This place is absolutely horrendous. Our room had a rotten odour, the shower was so gross we refused to use it and to make it worse there was broken furniture. We requested a room for a group of 3, one large bed and a sofa-bed. The sofa-bed was broken to the point where it couldn’t even be removed from the sofa. We spoke to front desk and were offered a cot, understandable considering it was late at night but ridiculous for the price we paid for the room. We asked to speak with a manager and were told one would be available tomorrow morning. Next morning we’re told the manager isn’t in until Monday… MONDAY. Absolutely ridiculous that a hotel doesn’t have a manager in between Friday and Sunday during one of the busiest weekends in Montreal ALL YEAR (Osheaga). This place has no understanding whatsoever of guest service. They made us feel like it was OUR FAULT the bed was broken and we like we were annoying them for complaining about it. Like wow, sorry for bothering you with a concern about a broken piece of furniture in the room WE PAID FOR. Thank whatever deity you believe in I booked through a travel agency and was able to get some form of compensation back for this disgusting treatment. Also, when the manager was finally able to be contacted they told our travel agent that nothing could be done for us because we refused to accept a cot. Whether we accepted the cot or not didn’t change the fact that our room had a broken bed.

This hotel has the rudest manager on earth. I had a wonderful time when I stayed there the first time as I wasn’t bugged by anyone and it was all that I needed. But I have been trying desperately to cancel my booking without being charged (as I am a student that planned on travelling there for a week but something came up and I can no longer go) and they have ignored my emails about the situation and refuse to hear me out. From what I see in the reviews this place tends to scam people and it’s unfortunate that they are trying to scam me as well. I have to cancel my bank card so they can’t charge me as I’m saving up for school and other personal savings. Ridiculous. Will never set foot in this place again, nor will I give them a cent of my money or recommend them to anyone else ever again. Don’t waste your time or your money on this place because they do not care about their costumers.

Going downhill… this USED to be a flagship hotel for Days Inn but new ownership has killed it. Rooms are dated and tired. Air Conditioning units (if they work) are old and in desperate need of a filter cleaning. Staff. While friendly. Look unprofessional and amateur. The Free High Speed Internet is a joke and I cannot begin to tell you how frustrating the televisions were. The restaurant is a joke… limited menu at inflated prices.

I am extremely happy with the staff and overall environment. It is situated in the heart of Montreal downtown. The staff was really helpful in their way of extending services well beyond the formal norms. The room was relatively decent equipped with all the basic necessities.

Shabby, dirty, dim. It's not cozy. They don't have Lena Flying on them.

Run to the hills — we were chased by a Janitor who works at the hotel who witnessed our conversation with a person name Alexa, apparently a manager, and he asked us that we should write a review about her attitude and her behavior with the clients. he also said that most of the reviews of this hotel is by paid staff. They are a serious scam hotel. Stay away, there are many hotels in the area, cleaner and with much better staff we checked in at 5:00PM. Room had a horrible smell of mold. They said they couldn't switch it since they were full. Receptionist suggested to try and find a room in another hotel and that they wont charge us. Guess what, her manager did charge my credit card and when I asked for refund. She said you stayed in the room for 20 minutes! what the hell is that?!. The manager name is Alexa — dont ever approach this hotel she is a scam.

Clean room, but very strong smell of household product. Obviously the Windows do not open, so we can not dissipate the smell. Size of the room correct. I personally did not appreciate the mattress, which seemed to me to be of poor quality.
The bathroom is very small and there is little storage.

Great location for visitors from out of town. Close to everything. Fairly priced for what you get. We stayed for 2 nights. A older hotel (can tell by the hallway, elevator and bathroom) but room's were decently sized and were clean. Washroom a bit outdated and could use a reno. If you care about great location and cleanliness and not concerned about having a swimming pool, exercise room, or inclusive breakfast — this place will be right for you. You can pay $15.00 extra for breakfast. But not worth the cost and didn't see anyone doing this in the mornings. The restaurant attached is opened but pretty much vacant. Parking at the hotel was full so we parked nearby. Not far of a walk, price was ok.

The Hotel Chrome (which used to be a Day's Inn) is located only about 4 blocks from Chinatown and about 6 blocks from the UQAM theatres. I would say that the rooms are slightly more spacious than comparable hotels (the hallway in the room is slightly wider) The bathrooms seems to have been relatively newly renovated (clean, white porcelain sink, marble-like bath tiles, and clean shower curtains) The elevators stink and there is a somewhat moldy odor in the hotel hallways. Hotel reception works until about 11pm, and then there is only a security guard working. To use the elevators, you must first scan your room card. This is a good measure to prevent random people on the street from wandering the hotel hallways. My key complaints are: — There is no parking nearby. Expect to pay street parking, or pay a nearby parking garage. (so about $10 — $20 a night) — They charged a $200 deposit as part of the room fees on the morning of check-in date. There was no communication on this beforehand, especially since this deviates from general practise of other hotels. The only reason I understood why the amount charged looked different is because I read other reviews online. — Lastly, I do not like the fact that they have small toilets. It makes it far more uncomfortable. Overall, the place is good value for the money, but just be aware that most of your savings will go towards parking, especially if you are returning to the hotel and therefore need to pay for parking a few times.

Horrible experience! Rooms are musky, understaffed and horrible service also got charged for smoking in our room $250. Neither my wife or I smoke!?! Would imagine I'm not the first person that's been scammed been forced to go through the authorities to have it reconciled as the manager is the most unreasonable human I've encountered in a long time. Stay away from this hotel!

This place seems nice from the front but only then. The rooms are mediocre and if that wasn't bad enough, the Wi-Fi is the actual worst. And the "resaturant" attached where you get breakfast is horrendous. They are understaffed and the staff that they do have are extremely biased against people of colour and teenagers, even when they are polite and order in French. The eating place alone gets 0 stars, nearly 2 hours wait while those around you are served what you ordered before they entered the establishment. Rude staff. The hotel staff were better though. I would never come here again.

Do not come here if you bring a car. There is no parking of the hotel so you have to search a public one. And there is no re-entry on the parking lots, so very uncomfortable if you want to explore with car. Other than that, centric stay.

Reasonable quality room. Manual heater in the room… Difficult to be comfortable at night.

Extremely basic rooms. Outdated and no microwave so could warm the kids milk or anything. Worst pizza ever. It came soaking in water from the vegetables in it. It is cheaper to buy it from outside. This would have been the worst pizza ever but unfortunately I once was served a raw pizza. Limited outdoor paid parking. They charged $26 per night. It is cheaper to park in the green p kind of parking where they send you when their parking is full.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Beds are comfortable and housekeeping are on to it (if you have a do not disturb sign they won't skip your room, they will check again at the end of their shift which is awesome because I kept forgetting about it! ). Internet is solid (speed drops during peak hours but that's to be expected, and you're still able to stream netflix and youtube on lower resolutions).

It's a pretty average hotel. The only reason we took it is because he is next to the CHUM.

For the money you pay for, this place is decent. Great location, you can walk to many attractions. Neat and quiet rooms.

The location was very good.

The hotel is fine in general but the service offered to guests in case of a problem is completely deficient. The manager does not offer any help in case of problems with reservations and is particularly rude to customers. One of the worst experiences in terms of service!

The manager does not understand any situation! We tried to get reimbursed because there was an error in booking and we are unable to get reimbursed! All that he was able to tell us is that it is politics! I ask him to speak to someone place higher but he did not want! The hotel is not so bad but the service is abominable! I would not suggest this hotel to anyone!

I wish I had zero rate star here. I stayed twice here & this is the worst hotel I ever stayed. Staff is so rude, they don’t have first aid kit in the entire hotel & not even in their restaurant. I asked them for bandage and they made me wait for more then 30 min & came back they don’t have first aid kid & they gave me the name of pharmacy which was 6km away & advised me to walk there in — 22. This hotel claim that it is non smoking but literally you can smell moment you enter the door. Hospitality doesn’t matters to them, this business is all about money & to give you hell like experience. Worst worst worst hotel & worst worst worsted staff. Try not to give them business, they just to go to any extent to rip you off.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel is not worth a cent. The rooms are tiny for what you're paying, heating in the room was poor at best, my sheets had stains and the staff was rude. I'm especially infuriated because I was charged $114.98 for "stealing the TV remote" which was never in the room to begin with. We reported this the first day knowing what would happen if we didn't. When we checked out I asked the front office if I would be charged and they assured me everything was in order so I was very surprised to see a charge when the credit card statement came in. When I called the hotel to resolve this, the concierge was dismissive and rude and hung up on me twice. They said I signed a form saying everything was in the room but that was impossible because the form I signed was about acknowledging I'd be charged for damages and I had not even been in the room yet at that point. Also to charge someone so much for a $25 remote is even more disgusting. The conditions to begin with are pretty poor but the incident that followed after assured me this hotel is not worth it because of the lack of professionalism by the staff. This is not how you respect your customers regardless of how busy the hotel is. I will not stop here and I will file a police report for this incident and report a credit card fraud.

Very affordable for a quick weekend getaway. Hotel lobby is very nice and updated. Location is ideal if you want to be downtown Montreal and close to Old Port. Parking per day is affordable and underground. Rooms are a little out-dated, however, clean and functional. Prefect place if you just want somewhere to crash that is clean, affordable, central and convenient.

Stayed here when it was a Days Inn. The one thing that bothered me was I placed the sign on the door nob saying "Do Not Enter", and the maid entered our room anyway when we were not there. I had personal things out and medicines as well as I had a bad cold, and did not want her to enter. I don't want to compare it to where I'm from, but what I am used to is when the sign says "Do Not Enter", you do not enter. Not to change sheets, not to empty baskets, nothing. We were not staying long so everything could have been handled once we were gone. Given, perhaps her management has different rules, and is more strict with the cleaning. I am even doubting myself as to think that possibly the sign was in French (as mostly everything in this city is) and I perhaps misread it? But it's not hard to translate, and I've studied the language before. I doubt I would have mixed up "Do Not Enter" for "Enter". Either way, decent stay. No complimentary breakfast or anything. I am just making it a point to mention the matter above because once the hotel changed its name and management, it's likely they've kept the same employees and future guests should know about this, whether they are fine with it or not is up to them. Great location for bus 747 from airport. Excellent value and clean room. Helpful staff.

The location of this hotel is very good, it's a 5 minute walk to Chinatown, 10 minute walk to old Montreal and a 5 minute walk to the very popular St. Catharines Street. When we first checked in, the staff was very nice and accommodating. Reasonable priced, especially for a queen bed with a living room with a pull out sofa and a sliding door to separate the two rooms. We needed an extra blanket and it was brought to us very quickly as soon as we called. Parking was extra and the garage is awkward to get into from the back. We had a regular sized Sedan and we scraped underneath our car slightly but noticeably going through the garage door. Overall I would stay here again and I do recommend staying here.

Stayed here about a week ago for a single night. The appearance of the hotel is fairly deceiving. The interior of the lobby even is very nice and stylish, however you will be met with a fairly unpleasant aroma upon exiting the elevator to head to your room. The room and bathroom was fairly cramped, and the bed definitely had bed bugs. I escaped with only one bite but my girlfriend wasn't so fortunate and had her arm covered as well as one bite on her face of all places. The shower had no place to hold a bar of soap or any other shower essential. The AC/Heater wasn't functioning and maintenance had to be called (which, was prompt but still. ) The Wi-Fi is also essentially unusable. I literally couldn't load a website after 10 minutes of waiting. I definitely won't be staying here again.

The hotel gave my room away. I paid for the hotel in FULL in advance. We arrived at 10am, which was too early for check-in, but we were going to a wedding all day and evening, so the receptionist took my name down for a late check-in. We parked our car in the garage (NOTE: their garage was full, so the receptionist sent us to one nearby) and went to the wedding. We came back at 11pm and the receptionist told me that although he had my reservation, they had NO MORE ROOMS LEFT. They gave my room away. I want to reiterate that I had PAID for the room in full already. He did not seem apologetic, and I honestly thought he was joking. He proceeded to try to call other hotels, but they were all full (it was thanksgiving weekend! ). I was livid. He made a huge fuss about giving me a confirmation that I did not stay at the hotel so that I could seek a refund. The customer service was absolutely terrible. I didn't even know that it was possible for a paid room to be given away without any notice. We were left without a place to stay that night and actually drove all the way back to our home city after midnight. Extremely disappointed, and still quite angry about the entire experience. Do not stay at this hotel.

I am a coach driver they always give us the most shabby and noisy rooms, not very friendly staff.

Great location Although the facilities were rather old. The air conditioning and heating did not work and it took time to give it a fix. The staff is not very warm.

Looks good on the outside. Sucks on the inside. That's the best way I can describe this place. Promised a fridge microwave and free parking and got none of that. Theyll send you to a parking 3 blocks away that is confusing as hell to get out of. The old Ac unit doesn't work. The tub didn't drain properly and the Wi-Fi barely works.

I think you get enough for what you pay in this hotel I loves the bedroom in terms of the wall and floor decorations. Yes the bedrooms are small but they are cute. They can use some inprovement in the aspect of the building but as I said. You get enough for what you pay.

Horrifying experience. We found a live bedbug crawling around our room and the staff offered us another room. When one of our roommates had a panic attack and it became clear that we could not stay the night, the staff refused to give us a refund and wished us luck finding another hotel at 3AM. Thousands of dollars' worth of bedbug-vulnerable property was considered infested and had to be dry-cleaned at our own expense. The staff's helpless attitude was the cherry on top, behaving as if there was nothing they could do to assist us, as if it is a difficult concept to grasp that customers do not pay for services they do not receive. We paid for safe lodging, and were refused a refund for an experience that left our material property and psychological well-being damaged. Please don't ever book this hotel. There are much nicer alternatives all around them, at the cost of a dozen more dollars a night.

Pros: the customer service here was PHENOMENAL. My boyfriend and I rode our bicycles and had all of our gear and they let us store them until check in and then store them until we were leaving after check out. They were incredible. They even stored our food in their fridge. The location is perfect. It is close to the water and downtown and tons of little areas of Montreal. The room was clean. The bed was pretty comfy. Cons: This hotel is terrible for the money. The rooms are practically falling apart at the seams. The sheets are too small for the bed and kept slipping off. It just has a super low quality feel. If it weren't for the amazing customer service, I would give this place one star.

Hotel dirty, poorly placed, shabby rooms smelling moldy, overpriced, Wi-Fi network in deplorable room. Torn toilet towels, air conditioning down, no light. Restaurant Menu on stained photocopies, very long service at breakfast that arrives cold. Short of low-end motel services billed at the highest price ever seen in Europe and the United States. To avoid absolutely!

Good location and cleanliness, maybe for the price you would expect a little bit more, but our stay was still comfortable.

Location is good, but very limited parking, we were lucky there was one slot available. Very nice and accomodating staff. Wi-Fi is good, the only problem we did encounter was the toilet and bath-tub were clogged.

Clean, modern, and prime location. The Days Inn — Montreal is a great low cost option for staying in the downtown Montreal area. Parking on the premise which is great but breakfast is not included. The Days Inn — Montreal is a functional, no frills hotel that is definitely worth the value, but by no means luxurious stay. Great for an overnight business trip, but probably not the best for a large family vacation.

Nice, clean, standard rooms, good service. There is an extra charge for parking. There is a restaurant and bar on the bottom floor but no breakfast included. We stayed one night and it was worth it.

Very disrespectful manager. Lady in the door next to us complained about the noise coming from our room, unfortunately we did not realize how loud we were being as we thought we were being quiet, manager came and threatened to call the police if we didn't leave immediately, he gave us no warnings at all. Do not recommend at all terrible experience.

It's okay… it's close to the Bell centre… you'll be disappointed if you're looking for something with more room and fancier… but you'll be happy if you need a decent place to sleep.

Stayed in 616. The room is old but serviceable. Wifi is slow. No parking on site and recommended parking lot has no in and out privileges. Good convenient location and fairly cheap per night.

The front guest services people were friendly. The room we are staying in on the 8th floor smells funny. Looks like water damage in the left hand corners of the room. Looks like there could be mold based on the colour.

In terms of price, perfect! Although the hotel is dated. The customer service wasn't that great. My husband asked for an extra towel cuz the one we had was ripped and dirty, the front desk told us to come down ourself to get another. I mean what kind of a customer service is this?! We're paying to stay there, not for free. In overall, I would say if you don't care about little stuff here and there for accommodation, it's your call.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Firstly, they overbooked the hotel and sent us to a crappy hotel down the street with barely an apology. Now they won't return my calls after they promised me that they would refund me some money because of the inconvenience. They tried to offer me a free night's stay for a future date, but I will NEVER stay at their hotel again.

I recently stayed here while visiting Montreal. The price was reasonable, especially when considering the location. The rooms were OK, but a little dated. I was missing a couple of things in the room, including basics such as faceclothes. If you're staying here, please note that the hotel's parking is limited. During my stay, I was forced to park at the hotel adjacent to Days Inn.

Very well located hotel. Room quite well. Large and clean. Unfortunately the floors were covered with carpet. Little towel (2 for 2 people) and the dryer did not work. It was quite a strong smell of burning.
Parking is affordable but 5 minute walk. Not always pleasant in a winter storm.
The reception seemed overwhelmed. Luckily we weren't in a hurry.
The stay at this hotel was so correct. Nothing fancy and nothing too painful. Maybe a little expensive.

When we originally booked the hotel rooms we were told the price of the room and nothing else, a week before arriving I called to make sure everything was in order where I was told I would pay a 100 deposit for both rooms since it was on 1 card, at check in I was told it was 100 per room so instead of 100 deposit we were paying 200 oh and of course plus parking and just told us we were given the wrong information other then that everything was fine but should probably train employees better 100 bucks of spending money went into a deposit we didn't know about.

No on site parking. Room is a bit cramped and could hear other doors close when in the room but clean and decent beds. Good price, would stay again if needed.

First room they gave us, heavy smoking smell in it, filthy gross. Went down to the front desk instantly, they gave us another room. No smoking smell, but bathtub clogged up and the analog cable connection to the TV is broken, asked the front desk to fix it. Of course, no one came. Dust hanging on ceiling. No small towel and they said all small towels were stolen. Spent 3 nights here felt like 3 months long. It is cheap here but stay at your own risk. Saw prostitutes coming in and out of this inn too.

Broken drain in the shower, broken TV. No towels, lumpy bed. Location is… OK? Depending on what you want. Staff were brusque, but efficient. Air conditioner was poor, which is a problem in the summer. Bar staff friendly, but restaurant food was very poor (fry oil was changed at the last referendum). Clean, but sparse. Iron was damaged and marked. Poor TV selection, Wi-Fi spotty at best. Cost and location are partially redeeming, but spending a small amount more can get you a better stay. With a pool. And a hot tub. And better, well, everything.

Close to old montreal. Chinatown and the quartiers spectacles (shows etc. ) And close to shopping and gay village. Small rooms and mildew in the bathroom.

The Days Inn is conveniently located in downtown Montreal close to China Town. Parking seems to be an issue here because on two separate occasions I was told parking was full and was forced to park somewhere else. The front desk advised us to park across the street because it was free until 9am the next morning. DO NOT believe them or you will find a $53 parking ticket on your vehicle and of course they will not reimburse you even though they gave false information. Another problem I found was that I was charged $50 more then what I was quoted unfortunately I discovered this a week later. There is free Wi-Fi in your room which is one of the few things I could say that was decent. The rooms have very thin walls so if your neighbours are playing music or watching TV be prepared to hear it. The decor in the room could use some serious upgrades. Our carpet was torn in multiple places, our sheets had weird red stains on them and our TV had blue lines running through it making it almost unwatchable. Thankfully I was only there for one night. I will definitely not be returning.

Ok so this hotel may have a good location but do yourself a favor and spend another 40-50$ for better. Upon check in was notified there is no parking and that I should park on the street. 30 mins into settling into my room a "maintenance" staff walked in my room and explained he was sorry because he didn't know I checked in. Do Not Disturb sign going on the door. Wake up the next morning at 10 am as house keeping walks in — NO knock on the door. Completely unannounced. Also, the bartender who cashed my 'video lotterie" ticket told me that the change I made in the machine was his pay. Do their employees not make an hourly wage? I tipped him 1$ only because he basically forced it out of me. Btw I did tip him on the one thing he did for me which is pour ONE 20 oz beer. the front t desk seemed to not care at all about any of the issues raised. to tip it odd there was a hooker/escort and her pimp hanging out in the front lobby all day. The restaurant in the lobby. I sat there for 15 mins — no one acknowledged me — no bartender in sight there so I left so I can't speak for the food.

We walked in and started second hand smokeing we walked inn and saw how small the beds were we turned on the TV and a small black mark down the middle.

ALSO — at one point the water was out basically the entires day…no tap water, no shower, no toilet flushing.

Soft bed. No curtain on the windows. However, the room was large and clean. There was no place in the hotel parking lot when I arrived.

Parking is $ 23 a share of the price of the room, the parking is underground and must reserve it because 18 places available. The room is very well there is a beautiful hall with restaurant-bar color trend really good for the price! It take $ 100 more on the card as a deposit which is repaid at the end.

Good price, for such a great location. The hotel itself is OK. The room was clean. The bed was not so great. No extras such as breakfast. Also you have to pay $20 a day for valet parking which (unless you're familiar with the area) is necessary since its a congested area and there isn't a hotel parking lot. But the location is what is really great. Next to Chinatown, a 20 minute walk from the Underground City on Catherine Street, 20 minute walk to the port and the waterfront with all those great shops and restaurants. So I'd recommend this place if you're not going to spend much time in the hotel itself but want to be within walking distance of so much activity. Great city.

A pretty seedy hotel. The staff was fairly nice and the rooms were small but fine. The hotel corridors were darkly lit and ripe for a movie plot. I stayed for four nights and into the weekend and had to listen to people slamming doors outside and people having sex in the room next to me on the last day. As I was leaving, a girl complained that a homeless man was now staying in the girls' bathroom. The staff responded promptly. The cost is cheaper, about $90 per night, compared to about $230 per night at the Sheraton, so basically — you get what you pay for. Parking your car is an extra $20 per day at their garage if you chose to drive. Breakfast and lunch are not included; they are extra. The hotel is conveniently near the Congressional Palace; it took less than 10 minutes for me to walk there every day.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights for a business conference. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and gave some of the best service I have ever seen. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. For the price, you could not do better in downtown Montreal. In response to the previous review of July 12, 2009, I would have to say that the staff in November 2010 were unfailingly polite and helpful.

I write this review while I am still at Days Inn, Montreal. So that means the wireless internet service works fine. The rooms are OK for the price. The problem with this place is that the service is inefficient and staff is rude. We had a clogged bathroom sink that we called room service for. It took them more than an hour to send someone down. We were told to wait for 5 minutes. When we called again after 15, they seemed displeased with our insistence. The guy who showed up insisted it was our problem (that he could not find anything wrong. Took us a while to convince him that we were familiar with the drain stop and had not kept it closed and that the drain is really clogged; he did fix it though). Our queries for a baby crib were met with the same "don't hassle me" pesky response. The AC in the room is not working and now we don't have patience to deal with another room service call. The Inn is undergoing maintenance; the parking lot is completely broken down and parking there (for which they still charge $15/ — per night) looks like a location from a horror movie — you have to take a rusty spiral staircase with electrical cables hanging over your head to come out of the underground space, and may God help you if you have to bring luggage with you) My advice: avoid this run down place, at least for a while.
