We were looking for a one night stay at a reasonable price and it was worth it. The room was fine and the bathroom was definitely good (something that is a big deal as there is little worse than a terrible bathroom in a hotel). The beds were comfortable but there was not a selection of pillow thicknesses and firmness. This is not out of the ordinary for hotels but should be noted if you are sensitive about pillow comfort. I slept alright but my wife not as much. (I am 6 feet tall and she is 5'5" so she prefers a thinner pillow). The only nitpick is that there is no USB power in the lamps or at least power outlets in the lamps so you can use your phone charger. There are not enough plugs near where one would want to place your phone, say on the night stand.

Let me start by saying the a/c was not working in our room 24.5C. Housekeeping did a terrible job making the bed. It had to be remade. Coffee/ tea items for maker not replenished and on the 3rd day no hot water but a/c now better. Rooms well worn. BUT free breakfast better than most. Will ask for a discount. Location 5 min. Walk from the action though.

Hotel was pretty nice for but they did not turn on the A. C. For our event where there were around 150-200 people.

Old, dated hotel. Good location and beds comfortable but too expensive for what you get.

Older rooms but still clean and comfortable. Front desk was awesome and helpful. Just a short walk through a lovely park and your at the casino.

Staff was friendly, great location and free breakfast was nice. Room was clean and bed was nice however our hairdryer didn't work and bath tub didn't drain well.

If your a sports team looking for a great hotel that is close to everything, clean and has a great breakfast the Charlottetown Inn & Conference Center is the place! The best part of a sports trip is the parents getting together after a long day! At the Charlottetown Inn & Conference Center they will let the parents and kids use one of the conference rooms to sit back and relax after a long day of sports! This is so great instead of trying to cram into someone's room.

Kids played hockey in the hallway outside of my room while their drunk parents sat next to the elevator drinking and eating Greco. I will chaulk it up as a cultural experience. My room met my needs.

If I could rate this spot in the negatives I would. To begin I had to argue with workers/manager to let me book a room because of where I was from, even though I was staying there alone I apparently posed a threat to the 2 other guests they had staying in this dump. When I was finally able to book after agreeing to their terms, I settled in my room alone and began getting dressed to go an meet friends for supper. When it was finally time to go eat I had 3 of my friends come by and pick me up. They came in the side door coming in from the parking lot. Big mistake! I had a small army of staff come to my room and tell me I had to leave. Now let me be clear that I was being quiet, I had no complaints, I was following the terms I originally agreed too, but was still being asked to leave. When I asked to speak to the manager, they threatened to call the cops. Finally after being ridiculed by staff I was able to speak to the manager and she allowed me to stay. Supper at the merchantman was excellent! Long story short, and to my disbelief, I was mistreated and discriminated against based on the fact that I reside in rural Prince Edward Island. Not only is this a gross misconduct but as a resident of this Island I am appalled that such an establishment can continue to operate in this manner. By the way the room reeked of mould, there was hair in my sink and the room was overall outdated and dirty.

Excellent location close to all sorts of amenities and stores. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I had a great stay!

It was a nice size room for the event, staff wore friendly but during dinner service the buffet was out of items for a bit, I wish there was more selections for the buffet menu and a separate desserts plate.

Air conditioning does not work well and very expensive as a hotel.

Nice quiet hotel. Within walking distance from a lot of restaurants and shops. Big heated indoor pool. Very friendly staff!

I stayed there with in the last month. My husband and two daughters 2 and 11 drove with my sister and her family and we had driven from Ontario to this conference center. If there was another place that was not booked solid, I would have checked out the minute I checked in. I would not have stayed there. We booked online and the picture of this place was pictures of the updated building across the street. They checked us in to a very dirty damp and dingy room. Soon as we walked in there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I got an instant headache. The floor was black the walls were sticky from food from the guest before. This room had a kitchen and was supposed to have full kitchen amenities and it did not. On top of that at the dishes we did have were dirty. The floor under the couch still had crumbs from the guest before as well as most of the kitchen cupboards, we complained to the front desk and asked for a cleaning before we settled in and they just fogged the room for the cigarette smoke. No cleaning was done. I slept in the room one night, mostly stayed up and paced all night. I did not enjoy it. After speaking to about 4 people at front desk about this issue the night before and the next day they agreed to move us into another room. I had asked to speak with the manager of the hotel and was told all three times he was busy or in meetings or not in. Once I finally spoke to him at the day of check out he was surprised to hear that I asked for him that many times.

This hotel was 'dated' two decades ago. Apparently a newer section across the street if there's no other choice. AC can't keep up — room won't get comfortably cool. Old wooden floors above and below with lots of creaking and steps. Not recommended for a business traveler. Room is clean and a good location. I would say it would work as a good value for a family.

The hotel was a bit dated and the air conditioning didn't work the best and was noisy. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Good for a quick night or two, or a family on a budget.

Booked two nights here, we showed up early and they allowed us to check in. This was great because my wife was pregnant and the air conditioning in the lobby was a nice relief. This is where the pleasantries ended. We then went to our room, which could have easily been mistaken for a sweat lodge. The front desk called up to ask how our room was, at which point I asked if there were issues with the air conditioning. They were not aware and sent one one up. The maintenance individual told me it was a geothermal unit so it takes a while to cool the room. The temperature proceeded to increase throughout the afternoon. As the temperature increase so did the rage of my pregnant wife. Staying here was no longer an option. I suspect this is a great place to stay in the winter or off seasons. I would hesitate to stay here on a warm day. Good luck.

Excellent Hotel in the city center. Clean, well maintained and easy to access. This is our second visit and I will come back again.

This is not a business hotel despite having conference in their name. The facilities are old, noisy and not comfortable. The hotel staff seems friendly but not helpful. The price is high and I now wish I had chosen a different hotel. One of the examples was how they told us that extending our check out from 11am to 1pm was not possible. We had 2 rooms and only needed one extension that was not possible and that's when the friendly but non helpful attitude came out. To top it all the manager approached me as she overheard the discussion with the front desk. She then become defensive and not able to accommodate a 1pm check out. I guess I need to look for another property next time. I will not come back to this hotel.

Disgusting! Hotel that plays on its downtown position to leave it décrépir without going down the price. Lunch included but medium quality. Uncomfortable and obsolete rooms. Terrible pool.

I travel a lot with work and this is about the best value you'll find anywhere. Dynamite breakfast actually! Everything all in all was definitely good enough. Nice location. Ample parking. Thanks to Brittany — F&B mgr.

It's a decent hotel. The room was really nice and clean. There's a tunnel connecting the main building to the second building across the street, which is where we were. It goes underground, it was quite chilly and it took a while to walk to the pool and to breakfast, but at least we didn't have to go outside! The pool/gym is really nice. The pool was closed for a while when we were there because of a chemical imbalace, so that sucked. There's also a new arcade. The games are fun if they work, but I found at least half of them didn't and/or ate our money! Breakfast wasn't the greatest. Any meat was very greasy and the baked goods were stale-tasting. There was a decent selection of hot and cold drinks. There were also do-it-yoursef waffle machines. That's the only food available on the premises. There are stores closeby and nearby restaurants have deals for the hotel! Any staff we came into contact with were great! Super friendly.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Best Western Charlottetown. My boyfriend and I planned a weekend away in Charlottetown to explore the beautiful area. When we got to the hotel, and checked in, we were completely disappointed with the hotel and room. Our room was dark, and dingy. Our "view" was the outside wall and the window to another room, and a window with a board over it… the bathroom door would not stay shut. There was exposed pipes which had dust on them. And not to mention the mat of hair we found mixed in the pillows… We were booked for 2 nights in this hotel and we didn't even want to stay the one. According to the Supervisor we didn't have a choice unless we wanted to pay the $155 cancellation fee. She also said all other hotels were booked up for the weekend, which was a lie. I've worked in retail for 7 years, I would NEVER lie to my customers to meet my own sales goals and needs. Customers needs come first, and if their hotel can't meet our needs, then they should let us move on. She then proceeded to say she couldn't move us that night, but could move us the next night but it would have to be a double bed. We declined. She then offered a Queen room. Then a king suite. We decided to stay the one night since we didn't really have a choice, and we would see if the king suite was any better. So the next day we had to pack up all our items over again and move them to the king suite.

Very nice and surprisingly quiet hotel for being right in the middle of town. Service was excellent and room was nice, internet was zero hassle, and breakfast was good. Would definitely stay here again.

Location, staff, cleanliness and value are the main benefits of this hotel. There is an underground tunnel connection to the building across the street street where I was given a free upgrade room. It has convenient free parking and restaurants/harbor/events are walking distance. The free breakfast includes bacon, hash browns, poached egg and a wide selection of hot beverages. Take a look at the street view since it does have an older late seventies appearance which you might dislike. During checkout, I suggested they replace old door knobs and mount new power strips on the wall behind the night stand since the lamps were older models making it inconvenient to charge my phone and tablet.

Very clean and friendly hotel. Recommend for a night or two stay.

The place is clean, staff very nice and all smiles, good breakfast. Room is spacious. There was problem with the TV in our standard king room and when we informed them, they upgraded us to the available superior king room for free!

We stayed in the adjoining older building across the street from the main lobby. The lobby in this building could use updating. The room was clean and comfortable. The rest of the newer part of the hotel is nice. Breakfast was also good.

Helpful friendly service and good location but the rooms and furniture feels dated and the morning when we were leaving I saw a used condom under my bed, it was there for days.

There are Hotels, and then there is Best Western! We had a great time during the Charlottetown tour. The food was great, the rooms were beautiful but the best part was probably the customer service. The staff were all smiles and everything we requested was brought up promptly.

This might be the worst Best Western on the continent. Apart from a great location, there is nothing to recommend this place once you enter your room. The front desk is inadequately staffed at busy check-in hours. The room was moldy and the the shower had black mold on half the tiles. The old AC sounded like a freight train coming through the door. They did clean the tiles after we complained but it takes a month to grow such mold so obviously their maintenance leaves much to be desired. Beds were fair and carpet worn. This motel needs a total remake. Stay out of town and commute in as it only takes 5-10 minutes depending on your location.

Despite reading some of the negative reviews, my family decided to give this hotel a try. Unfortunately, it just proved many of the previous reviews right. What we got was definitely not worth what we paid. When we first got to our room, neither swipe cards worked. When we went back to the front desk (which was an inconvenience as we were in the building across the street from the main building), we were informed that the attendant had provided us with the wrong room number when we checked in — this is quite unprofessional. There was no wireless internet access in the rooms as claimed. In addition, they had apparently run out of Internet cables at the time — good thing we brought our own! To add, one out of the only two wired outlets in the room wasn't working. Other unpleasant experiences — the broken blowdryer in the room that took 2 hours to replace, and insufficient lighting. Overall, it was the worst in terms of quality out of the hotels (and motels) we stayed in during our 6-day trip in the Maritimes — even though it was the most expensive. The only positive I could think of is that the staff was relatively friendly.
