Great B&B, wonderful breakfasr.

We recently stayed at Chateau La Motte on our wedding night along with some of our out of town guests. They were nice enough to give us a tour of the whole place prior to our wedding day. They were also kind enough to let us take some wedding photos inside their gorgeous Victorian era home. The breakfast was tasty with a variety of cheese, fruit, bread, yogurt, orange juice, tea and coffee. Alida even remembered that my husband was a hunter and brought him some special South African meat for him to taste at breakfast. Thank you Chateau La Motte.

To celebrate our 36th anniversary my husband and I decided on a romantic night away. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a tour of this stunning century home that has been beautifully restored and modernized. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We highly recommend Chateau la Motte Guest House.

We recently spent a night at the Chateau (1895) and it was such a treat. Alida greeted us to her home and it represents a step back in time but with modern amenities. The attention to detail is stunning and the various guest rooms are well appointed and very welcoming (some with fireplaces).
I would highly recommend this accommodation and hope to return.

My daughter and her bridal party stayed just this past Friday and she and her new husband stayed following the wedding! Such a beautiful home. The owners were so wonderfully accommodating. Thank you for your hospitality! The food was amazing! Everyone raves about it!

Absolutely the best B&B we have ever been to. Beautifully restored century home, tastefully decorated, with all the conveniences of a modern home. Woodstock is a beautiful area & we will definitely visit again. Alida is a gracious hostess & we intend to return (and have breakfast next time).

This is the real deal B&B that my partner and I were looking for. It's a very well kept Victorian-type home decorated beautifully in classical style. The owners who run the place are very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious! And the whole place was very clean and inviting. Good vibes all around. Would stay again if ever in Woodstock! xo.

The Chateau is a huge house that is absolutely beautiful! We stayed on the 3rd floor and everything was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and quiet, and the owner was incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious, there was no shortage of food or beverages. I highly recommend a stay here, you'll feel right at home! The downstairs rooms were all beautiful as well, and it was so nice to sit and relax in them. We definitely plan on returning!

What a stunning location to host our intimate workshop! Free Your Possibilities was a success in part due to the choice of hosting it in this palatial mansion. Wonderful hosts, beautiful decor and warm memories were made. We look forward to hosting there again in April 2018.

We were looking for a special anniversary getaway. Thought we would try a B&B. The house was a surprise. Not as grand as we thought it would be. The interiors decor did not reflect the history of the house. The rooms were cold (temperature) and cold (not welcoming). The rooms are not sound proof. We could hear the owners quite loudly so we were sure they could hear us. No background noise seeing that the TV didn't work. So we tried playing a game (I brought one) sitting on a stained rug, because there are no table and chairs in the room. We are both in our early sixties. Making it mighty tough to get back up. Thought well lets look at their stack of magazines which were really out of date. But there are no lamps to read by anyway unless you want to get in bed. Nothing else to do but take a nice hot bath. We thought this will feel nice after sitting on a cold floor playing games. I filled the tub which took forever, climbed in and guess what … jacuzzi didn't work. There was not hot water at the bathroom sink glad we weren't to dirty. Decided to go to town no fun in this room because we were sure the owners could hear us seeings that their room was right next to ours. Not much in town to see so we came back and went to SLEEP. Woke up in the morning and packed. Six wooden hangers in the closet a sign reminding you six hangers to be there when you leave. As if I need their hangers. Went down to a disappointing breakfast.

We wanted a nice place to stay for our anniversary, a night away from the kids. Beautiful historic mansion! We really loved the bathroom in our room, the jet tub helped me relax. It was such a beautiful night, we sat outside by torch light and had an evening tea before bed, just like at home. The hosts Alida and Francois were very friendly personable people, we learned a little about their culture as well. Having our own balcony was a nice touch as well, something you usually don't see in hotel chains. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and was a little unsure of what to expect, but this has been a good experience and have opened us up to explore more about B&B in the future. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone, and I would return in the future. Thank you for a great first B&B experience :)

Pokemon gym on front lawn is a little glitchy.

Delightful, caring hosts who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide unique food and ambiance. Am happily recommending staying here to anyone I know who hasn't.

Beautifully designed late 1800's architecture… great hosts as well.

Wonderful place to stay with lots of character and charm. My mother had a medical emergency in the middle of the night while staying there and the owner actually followed the ambulance and did not leave her until she was settled in the Emergency Department. Terrific people and terrific place.

Spacious, charming, and historical with fantastic service.

We all have our own reasons for being in a Bed and Breakfast Guest House with our own expectations and standards. We enjoyed our mini vacation at Chateau LaMotte May 25 to 27, 2017 and in thanking our hosts, Alida and Francois, we particularly remember:
• Gorgeous, historical, spacious, comfy home on a beautifully landscaped corner lot
• Great views from our 3rd floor room –on verandah and through old beveled glass windows
• Alida and Francois are attentive, customer-focused hosts; great conversationalists who shared their South African life and culture with us
• Comfortable bedding –ask about the bamboo fiber
• Special requests exquisitely handled and thanks for the ice bucket!
• Sumptuous breakfasts – both hot and cold; great coffee
• Oh yah, check out the historic hinges and door knobs
• Next time, I want to see and know about the builder’s laboratory in the basement of this home he built for his mother…. Hmmmmmm!? hahahahaha
