The Best Western Lamplighter Hotel in London Ontario is my very favourite. If in the area that's my go-to place. I always get an atrium room which has a lovely balcony that overlooks the swimming pool. The pool area is beautifully decorated and on some lucky occasions you get to watch a wedding. It's lovely. The staff are helpful and courteous! You won't be disappointed! The on-sight Shelly restaurant has great staff and good food!

Low score as we were looking for a comfortable and restful overnight stay typical at most of the Best Western Plus hotels that we have visited previously. Lots of noisy children running through halls and while there was a nice seating area outside the room it was in an atrium area overlooking the pool and was quite warm and humid and very noisy so we did not use the area. Could not open window coverings as people were walking back and forth to get to their room or pool. NO fresh air to room because the door/window opened onto the indoor pool thus it smelled and felt like being in an indoor pool area. We were not aware that the hotel was quite like this. Also surprised that there was no breakfast included. This hotel would be rated at a 3-4 if I had come with a young family for a getaway. It has a very family oriented pool and poolside rooms would be perfect for that kind of stay. However it is quite expensive and breakfast is not included so it might be a bit out of budget for some families.

Amazing Hotel, Great staff, beautiful scenery. You don't even have to leave the hotel, it has a great restaurant, gorgeous pool / hot tub/ water slide with Fitness room, arcade, vending machines. It is close to everything. I had a room facing the atrium and the room was virtually sound proof I heard nothing with the patio doors closed & the hotel was crawling with kids. The rooms are so clean and so are the grounds. I am absolutely staying here again. I recommend it completely!

We traveled with adult kids and grandkids. We enjoyed the pool and atrium area. The staff were very professional, friendly and efficient. The exterior hotel and interior hallways and rooms were nicely refurbished. Some of the areas in the rooms still need to be completed. We had 3 rooms and 1 didn’t seem to be completely done as in closet and bathroom doors. The carpet could be updated or go all together and all the bathrooms definitely needed updating. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and nice. Everything was clean and the staff worked around the hotel. Overall we had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend this hotel and return when we are in London.

Great place. Super fun pool for the kids with a huge winding slide. My only disappointment was that they don't offer cots or a room with 2 beds and a sofa with pullout like other hotels. Otherwise great hotel and the staff was super helpful and checked in on us to ensure we we're enjoying our stay.

This is a great hotel! I was there for business, but I will definitely go back for family vacations in the area. The hotel is perfect for families and business people alike! Don't forget your bathing suit!

The BW Lamplighter Inn (London Ontario) is such a comfortable, clean, modern, hotel with a great pool area for the entire family! There's a fun water slide, a big hot tub for the adults, and beautiful tropical gardens for all to enjoy. There's also a nice eating area that overlooks the waterfall. They have it all, a work out room, play room, a nice restaurant with in the hotel, swimming, cleanliness, a shuttle during office hours to the busy Victoria Hospital, and a good price! I highly recommend it!

Have stayed here many times with and without the kids. Really enjoy the atrium — so relaxing to just sit on the balcony enjoying a beverage or two, then walk down to the pool / hot tub. Any opportunity we have where there is the slightest possibility of staying in or near London we always stay here. Never had a bad stay.

I was attending a technical seminar for Sub Zero/Wolf appliances. This is my favourite seminar of the year. For two reasons. One being I love the atmosphere surrounding the high-end appliance market, it is the best place for a skilled technician to really shine and learn how to become one of the best. The head trainer at SZ/W is the best I have dealt with. Second reason, is the food at this Best Western! We had the red pepper soup, garden salad, Roast Beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding and Cheesecake for dessert. I look forward to my drive to London once year for this amazing experience! If you are looking to book a decent conference room with the best hotel food around, do it here!

This is a great hotel, both if you are looking for a place to stay, or if you are attending a conference there and I have done both. Their in room entertainment even includes the ability to rent video games, as well as pay-per-view movies and television on top of the standard in room cable television. The pool is fantastic, and even includes a water slide, set in a tropical setting with plenty off greenery. Relaxing for the adults and fun for the kids. Also gorgeous to look down on from a poolview room. The conference rooms are also done very lavishly, with aesthetics and comfort in mind. They can accommodate multi media presentations with ease, and have delicious and professional catering available.

Clean large rooms. Fantastic pool. Convienent location. Helpful friendly staff. Would easily be 5 out of 5 if not for poor soundproofing between rooms and between rooms and common areas. The lathe pool obviously makes this hotel a draw for families with kids and that's fine. But it is far too easy to hear noise from 2 or 3 rooms down quite clearly. Would still recommend. Pool is great.

My group stayed at the Best Western Lamplighters Inn and Convention Centre for a Convention. Our room was a King Suite. Three of us stayed in the room and it was very comfortable. The service throughout the hotel was top notch. The staff was professional, friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent in both the restaurant and the banquet hall. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Second stay at Lamplighter. Hotel is very good. Rooms are great. Kids will love the pool. The only thing that needs changing is the outside food restriction in the atrium. We were asked to leave because we (4 adults) were drinking a Tim Hortons coffee, while other people walked around with open beer cans and alcohol on ground floor balconies by the pool.

I did not appreciate being asked to get out of the hot tub so little children could use it. Only enjoy the hot tub. Do not use pool. Should advise guests when they are going to be having a large number of children at the hotel. Nothing wrong with children but was looking forward to a relaxing 4 days.

Excellent hotel, wonderful pool area and perfect rooms. We were so happy with our stay at Lamplighter and we will defantly be returning with our family for a longer stay next time! We have already recommended the hotel to friends. The on duty manager was excellent he made an issue we ran into disappear with his quick, accommodating, helpful response. All staff were wonderful from front desk, restaurant and cleaning staff.

I had a decent time. With good service until the final day. There was an issue with my bill. And I am still waiting on the manager to call me back. I just feel that I am not important. I have called 3 times and each time I am told I will receive a call from the correct manager that "handles" certain issues. I am still waiting. This put a bad taste on the entire stay. And will probably not stay at this location again. Feel extremely dismissed. When I have taken all the proper steps to try and resolve a problem and they don't seem to care.

Cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff will treat you at this hotel. Attended a three day conference while on a severely restricted diet prescribed by my doctor. They accommodated these needs beautifully and were so friendly while doing so. Beds were extremely comfortable, the new renovations are lovely (and the workers are so quiet and conscientious around guests), and I really, really, liked the encouragement to text staff any time of day for assistance. Excellent hotel to stay at!

Nice hotel with a lot of convenience.

Stayed overnight for a staycation with my friend. Absolutely beautiful hotel and even better swimming pool! The lifeguards were all very nice and did a great job. It is a very nice spot to have a wedding, and host events. We didn't have a microwave, so we called the front desk and they sent one up within 5 minutes. Amazing service :)

The pool and water slide are terrific! It makes this hotel stand out among others. We had a king bed suite. It was nice to have a separation between the bed area and the living area. It was a clean hotel. The price was about $30 more than expected, but considering the accommodations, it is worth it. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not included.

This place is one of London's Best kept secret! The pool is gorgeous and the rooms are really nice, and it's huge! You wouldn't know it from driving by… Staff was very friendly with getting us checked in. Next time we're definitely bringing our kids because it would be almost a vacation spot for them!

My wife and I celebrated our four-year wedding anniversary in August and I felt it was only appropriate to share our magnificent experience at the Lamplighter Inn. We booked our reception in the Oak Room which provided our guests with a cozy atmosphere and also tied into our Mad Men themed evening. We invited 60 of our closest family/friends and the room itself was the perfect fit as it allowed everyone to mingle, eat, drink, dance or simply relax. The food was easily the best we've ever had the pleasure of consuming at a wedding. Whether they were a carnivore, vegetarian or vegan, our guests also echoed these statements. The staff was both attentive and extremely personable with many participating in the endless laughter. Also worth noting, the entire reception was reasonably priced and worth every penny. The rooms were also clean, comfortable and ideal for our guests sleep in. It's been just a little over four years since our grand evening and our guests still say it was the best wedding reception they have ever attended. This was not only a testament to us, but to everyone involved at the Lamplighter who were responsible for this once in a lifetime experience. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Overall this BW plus is one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed in. Great pool and courtyard. Outstanding king suite with a balcony over the courtyard. Breakfast room service is plentiful, hot and arrived fairly fast. The downside of a room overlooking the pool/courtyard is the noise level of the people in the pool and the intense chlorine smell which unfortunately penetrated our room. We woke up with red, puffy eyes and we were stuffed up til the evening after we left. We gave this a 4 star instead of a 5 because of the this. If we’re in London, Ontario again we would stay there again just located far away from the pool.

The food was delicious. The service is fantastic.

LIFE GUARD ISSUE: We booked a birthday party and hired an extra life guard from the hotel to supervise our party. There were 3 life guards in total and they spent more time socializing, than supervising. They closed the water slide every hour for long periods of time so they could socialize with each other. Our children were very upset since this is a service we paid for. When the slide was opened, all 3 life guards went up there and abandoned the pool, leaving all those children unsupervised. One Life Guard manning the slide told our children that they could go down "head first" as long as they didn't tell anybody because she didn't want to lose her job! Overall, the Life Guards were lazy and had a total disregard for the safety of their patrons.

Up to date decor and price is alright. Arcade game were not good with many of them not working. 1 dollar a game. Come on. Water slide is wasn’t open at all during our stay. Be advised. Not open during the day unless on weekends. Staff who cleaned room didn’t pay attention at all. Beds and linens were clean but there were blown up balloons laying in room guessing from previous patron.

London is lucky to have such a premiere hotel! The massive pool, waterfalls, and slides are truly awesome! Better than most large US hotels I have been to by far. If you are a sports team or have young kids… they will be in hotel heaven. We also have our Xmas party here every year and the food and service is always top notch.

Words cannot describe how much I love this hotel. It is beautiful, amazing for kids, amazing for adults alike. There is a beautiful pool with a canopy. You can feed fish and there is a clown making balloon animals and face painting. We got an atrium king suite and it is absolutely wonderful. It was clean, soundproof and didn’t smell of chlorine. There is also an arcade and many halls for events. The staff is really nice and the lobby is beautiful and modern. The first time we went there, about 2-3 years ago, we had noisy neighbours when we were sleeping but it was compensated with an $100 gift card. The rewards system is also very good. We almost have our gold card, so when we get that, we can choose a thank you gift basket when we arrive or extra rewards points. The gift basket includes flowers, chocolates etc.

Nice place, clean and easy to navigate. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pillows were a little large for my liking, but I probably could have asked for new ones if I had bothered, and the pool / pool room were a little chilly, but not enough to stay out. Food at Shelly's was reasonably priced and of good quality. Overall we had a positive experience.

They're kind and capable. They tried to give the best possible service in the world.

This is our favourite place to stay when in London. Everytime we have been there it's been the best experience. Staff is always great. Very helpful and make us feel at home and comfortable. This is the only hotel I recommend when visiting London. My kids love the pool and water slide. On our last visit the children forgot some items. When we returned within an hour they were already in bag labelled with our name and ready to go!

Warm, welcoming, good listening and accommodating staff. Clean, fresh room. Very good service and quick food delivery at Shelly's. Good tasting food, too. Very pleased. Will recommend to anyone traveling through/to the London area.

Great place to stay. Great atmosphere with real palm trees in the Atrium. Feels like you are gone away on vacation. Pool and fitness centre is great. Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. It is very clean and modern. It is our home away from home place to stay by ourselves or with our grandkids.

I chose this hotel for the complimentary hospital shuttle and medical rates. Fortunately, my stay was during the week. I had a terrace which overlooked the pool and hot tub. Such a pleasant view as the area is similar to a tropical garden. A large fish pond was also visible, and I could see gold fish and large koi swimming below. I felt like a kid again. My bed and pillows were very soft and comfortable. I have stayed at Trump So-Ho, and have to admit the comfort level was comparable! Just go! See for yourself.

I am NOT a travel writer, nor do I work in the hospitality industry. I have simply been a guest at this hotel several times now and am always impressed. I stay there when I visit my daughter in London The rooms are calming and restful, tastefully decorated with beautiful, white bed linens. The staff are ready to assist you with anything that you might need. The rooms include every amenity you could want including usb ports, alarm clock, hair dryer, in-room coffee, refrigerator, lovely toiletries, steam iron, etc. You can't go wrong choosing to stay at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn!

Love this place! Always choose Lamplighter Inn (Best Western) when in London. Beautiful atrium, exotic plants, waterfalls, pond, pool, hot tub, water slide + more. There's something for everyone here. On-site restaurant has good food and very helpful, friendly staff.

I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable, the bed was comfortable. They had a flat screen TV with local channels. The bathroom was clean, they provided everything you need like soaps and such. Lots of towels available to use. The Wi-Fi is pretty good and free. The pool area was nice. There appeared to be plenty of conference room space as well. The restaurant attached to the hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. The food was pretty good too.

Truly an amazing experience to stay at this hotel. Honestly, they have the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The water park and pool is something out of a movie, gives it a resort feel (in a good way). For what you get the price is great. Staff are very helpful. My favorite hotel (I have stayed at a lot of hotels, some very expensive ones too). Will come back again and again and hold events there when able to.

Attended a wedding there. It was clean and very well presented. The food was fantastic and the hall decorated very nicely. My sister had a suite there and it was really great! And the prices of the rooms were very reasonable.

Beautiful garden setting! We spent 3 days here and never even left the hotel, everything you need is right there! Hotel rooms and hotel interior are impeccably kept and the staff are black tie and professional! Would highly recommend!

Great service and food in the restaurant. The pool was wonderful as well. We found the A/C fan in the bedroom to be extremely loud and there wasn't an option to turn it off. That was the only issue we encountered and otherwise we had a great experience.

One night stay only on a business trip. Big spread out hotel — has several entrances making it easy to park near your room. Restaurant on site. Has a gym and very nice swimming pool. Plush bedding with crisp white sheets. Comfortable bed. Shower and separate jacuzzi bathtub. Wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Ground floor northern hallway. Balcony overlooked the beautifully maintained pool area, but room had no noise problems from children swimming. 10/10 would come again.

The room was lovely. Spacious! The sink is outside of the toilet area — a big plus — AND there is also a bathtub and a shower facing the tub — wow! The latter proved to be very time-saving as we were there for a function and it meant two could bathe at the same time. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff very friendly, even the restaurant staff as we ordered room service three times during our stay. I would rate this hotel to be 4 stars, as to which see cons below. I also loved the fact you could hang a card with your breakfast choice on your room door any time before 2am and you get your breakfast at the time you've specified — awesome! There's a large enough fridge and everything else was A okay so far as the Hotel itself is concerned. Upon arrival the room did not have toilet paper! (There were two 3/4 finished rolls). However, Frontdesk was very prompt in correcting the situation. For that matter, the telephone responses — i. E. Frontdesk and Shelly's Bar & Grill Restaurant — are very immediate. The restaurant food tasted good (not great) BUT quite palatable. Unfortunately other factors with the restaurant service impact the rating I gave the Hotel. To wit, the utensils were a bit dirty. I had noticed dried coffee on the outside of the first cup I had received, the paper on the tray wet and no teaspoons but was prepared to overlook this as perhaps a Sunday morning rush oversight.

Room was very clean, a short distance to the amazing pool and waterslide. Dinner at the attached restaurant was great quality and cheap prices. Will go again.

Very extremely clean! The staffs are very friendly. The pool area is so beautiful because it feels like a home. At Shelley's restaurant has great breakfasts menu too. It is very worth it and I will come back! This is my top list of place to stay whenever I am in London.

Great place to hold a conference. The rooms are big & sound travels well for speakers. We had a catered buffet lunch which was great, lots of options for celiacs and vegetarians as well.

Service was great! Front desk was very helpful and the assistance screens around the hotel were great for navigating to the various conference rooms!

I was working in town for the night, but it was a late night, so my stay was short. The room was clean and comfortable. I only wish I had a chance to try the waterside and pool out. I definitely will the next time I stay in London.

Was here for work. Food was supplied and nice and the room was very nice but rather cold.

Went to the hotel to attend a birthdsy party. Room was beautiful and very reasonably priced. The staff at the pool was professional and courteous. When one of the children got hurt, they wete genuinely concerned and asked more than once throughout the party if she was okay. The wait staff at Shelly's was also top notch. Our server was very friendly and engaging. She wasvery good with the 15+ children (all under 10) and wanted to ensure they had a good time.

Good hotel. Clean, rooms were nice. The pool is neat but they let kids in the hot tub so you can never get in.

The conference area is very nice. It has a great atmosphere and a reasonable amount of space. Smells a bit like chlorine though, due to the pool being right there. The staff did a great job with the meal and ok there refreshments.

Went to a Christmas party with my company. The food and venue were fantastic. Everyone was very nice.

A decent place for kids and families with pets. Lots of partying and loudness from the myriad partting hockey parents, however. L, so not much of a place for business travellers, I would think. Fairly steep price for what you get, too.

Attended the hotel for a speaker session and was very impressed with the facilities. Particularly the pool and surrounding ambience on the main floor.

My husband and I stayed on 8/22/15 for our anniversary. We used our points to stay. They upgraded us for free to a suite, which was very nice. The room was clean and our welcome goody bag was great! The view out of our window was awesome! It was a waterfall and river! We didn't use the pool but we did go check it out. Wow is all I have to say! It was great! I wish we would have had time to enjoy it. Overall the staff was friendly and the hotel was nice and clean. Can't wait to stay here again!

This is a really nice hotel… however… one thing made me give it a less favourable review. This is why. My Autistic Daughter was denied access to the water-slide because she was literally 1/4" too short, maybe less. It was about a pinky fingers width… I'm all for the rules but, come on… what milestone is she supposed to reach in the next 1/4" that will make it safer for her to ride the slide? as a side note, she's 5… she loves the water and is probably a stronger swimmer than some kids 1 or 2 years older than her. She's been on water-slides at other parks without a problem. The lifeguard (female. Heavy set) was not very polite. Very impatient and insensitive to her needs as an autistic child while trying to measure her and was completely rude when she told her she couldn't go down. Meltdown ensued and My Daughter has now spent the last 3 days going on about how she's not tall enough and not good enough to go down the slide etc. I'm also not convinced that the measure points were actually 4 feet high. It looked higher than that.

The Lamplighter Inn London, ON has the best pool of any hotel. The rooms are average, the staff was a very helpful, and prompt when minor things needed attention. The location is good, not too far from the highway, downtown, and places to eat and shop.

Positively Beautiful: the view, service & staff! Book the atrium view. Do not eat at Popeye's on Wellington, chicken is dripping in grease & owner is rude to customers & mean tonstaff@!

Stayed here for the weekend for a baseball tournament. My brother inlaw and his son got robbed. Someone had a card to the room and stole his I pad, Telephone chargers, Nike shoes and Nike sandles, wallet with drivers licence and his luggage. No cameras and hotel did nothing. Who has a key for the room? They put the do not disturb card on the door when they left and it was on the floor inside. NOT staying here again. I would strongly suggest you don't either.
