A truly unforgettable stay!
My stay at Gables Bed & Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The hostess’s warmth and genuine hospitality made me feel completely at home from the moment I arrived.
Every detail of the house reflects love and care — it’s more than just a place to stay; it feels like stepping into a beautifully preserved museum full of history and charm.
The rooms were spotless, the breakfast delicious, and the atmosphere calm and inspiring.
I honestly didn’t want to leave!
I highly recommend this place to anyone who values comfort, elegance, and heartfelt hospitality.

Lois and Bill were amazing hosts for our little break this weekend. The hot tub was very welcome after an afternoon hike. The breakfast was fantastic, Lois was able to accomodate our vegetarian diet and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in serving a healthy and hearty meal. Thanks so much!

In one word, Home! For the first time in our travels, it felt like we never left, just went to a family house.
The attention to details is remarkable and you can find the adorable objects in every corner, so, be on the lookout!
Breakfast is appealing and flavorful and differs each day. Also, while you're waiting for breakfast, you'll enjoy fruit salad, mini cakes and biscuits, fruit juice and coffee.
All day, you can help yourself with coffee, tea, and homemade biscotti and cookies.
And let's not forget the huttub in the backyard.
To sum it up, if you are looking for luxury and perfection, go to a hotel, but if you are looking for character and an excuisite stay, you've found it.
The motto of Gable's Bed & Breakfast is "welcome home! " Lois and Bill have definitely made it so.

This little retreat was EXACTLY what I needed to slow down and relax from a hectic life in Toronto. Lois welcomed me in warmly (with a hug! ). This historic house is absolutely charming. The 24 hour beverage station was wonderful with an assortment of homemade biscuits, a keurig machine, a variety of teas, beer and liquor cabinet.
The full breakfast was AMAZING! it was delicious and healthy. I only stayed 1 evening but if you stay multiple nights, Lois said she cooks up a different breakfast each day.
I was told by some other guests who frequent B&B’s that this will become my “standard” as it was one of the best they’ve ever stayed in. Uh-oh! I might just be disappointed for the rest of my life as I look for an equivalent B&B experience in the future.
If you need a place to stay in Stayner, I would HIGHLY recommend Gables.

My wife and I went to Stayner for Pinfest; when we were making our plans The Gables stood out as an attractive alternative to the chain hotel experience. We made the right choice!
Lois and Bill were great hosts who made sure we had everything we needed, the house and decor are incredibly charming (our room had an old Singer pedal sewing machine for decoration, just like my grandmother used to have), and breakfast was outstanding! We're used to vegetarian options that are basically "the standard, hold the meat", but Lois surprised us by going all-out with a meal that included homemade veggie sausage, perfectly sweetened French toast, and the best coffee I've had in a long while. That was a really good start to the day :)

We had a lovely time at Gables B&B. Lois’s thoughtfulness and Bill’s sense of humour made us feel completely at ease. We enjoyed the beautiful historic decor, hearty breakfasts, and relaxing hot tub. We will definitely stay here again!

What a wonderful experience my friend and I had at Gables B&B this week. The two breakfasts were awesome and Lois and Bill were friendly and we had many great chats. The house, which is over 150 years old, is quaint and filled with antiques. We were very fortunate in having temperatures in the 20s while we were there. During the afternoon we sat on Adirondack chairs in the beautiful backyard while sipping our wine. There is a pond/waterfall in the back as well. The room was cozy and the bed super comfortable. The town of Stayner is a 5 minute walk away; it has several restaurants and many unique shops. It was my birthday on March 19 and it will certainly be a special memory for me.

Lois and Bill are exceptional hosts with a comfortable home that they graciously share with their guests. The breakfasts are the best ever and the bar area has a great selection of coffee pods, cocoa pods, teas and homemade cookies and biscotti. We enjoyed hiking the Bruce Trail and exploring the towns of Creemore and Stayner. It was great to be able to walk into town for dinner one nigbt. Exceptional weather ler us enjoy the south facing back yard in the afternoon and the covered front porch at night. We are looking forward to our next stay there.

The best B&B experience we have ever had. The house is a lovely 100+ year old, lovingly cared for home. I loved the creaky, well kept wood floors. Our room, the suite, was super spacious, with the adjoining sitting area. The bed was very comfortable, as well as the pillows — none of that uncomfortable first-night-in-a-strange-bed issue. The breakfasts each of the three mornings we were there, were exceptional. Lois was very adept at catering to my husbands' food allergy. Not only were the meals delicious, but they were so filling, we hardly needed any lunch. Having the snack bar conveniently located right inside the front door made it easy and unintimidating to help ourselves to coffee, tea and the delicious biscotti on offer, anytime. Lois was so gracious to give us a copy of her homemade ketchup, which she served with breakfast as appropriate. She also gave us a small booklet of some of her scrumptious breakfast offerings. I look forward to making them in my own kitchen. We highly recommend this charming establishment.

This was our first B&B experience, and we loved every minute of our stay. Lois and Bill were incredibly accommodating and welcoming hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we were settled in and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The room was even nicer and roomier than the pictures depicted, the bed was like a warm hug, and the breakfast was incredible. The price was extremely reasonable, the location was convenient (we were skiing nearby at Blue Mountain), and we were blown away by the thoughtfulness of our hosts. Overall, the place was beautifully decorated and cozy, and the service was unparalleled. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Bill and Lois were incredibly kind, offering excellent service, a cozy room, and a fantastic breakfast. For a budget-friendly stay in Collingwood, this place is a must!

Had a great weekend at the Gables. Beautiful breakfast, lovely decor in the heritage home. Very easy access to the Bruce trail. Would definitely return!

We had a brief but very enjoyable stay at the Gables in the 3-person suite. Lois and Bill are such kind and caring hosts, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome during our little Bruce trail trip. Breakfast was filling and delicious, and the tea/coffee bar was much appreciated. We hope to be back for another (longer) visit!

My daughter had a reservation with them that they cancelled Thursday before the thanksgiving weekend because her check in time was 7 pm. This is 2024, they should be using a code lock people can check in when they can. This type of service is abhorrent. I do not recommend this place.

Lois and Bill are most welcoming. They offer up a unique experience that evokes the charm of a bygone era, with fantastic healthy home-cooking and real hospitality in a time when such experiences are disappearing. The rooms were 'old world' with all the patina of a well-loved home. As visitors from England having a bit of a family reunion, we couldn't have had a better experience of Canadiana. Any small issues, just ask Lois and she will quickly sort out. If you want an old-world experience with the creaky charm of a vintage home, this is the place for you.

Loved our short and sweet stay at The Gables. The house is incredible, so much honoured history. And the room was perfect, beautifully decorated, with thoughtful little touches. I can't say enough about Lois and Bill and the level of service. They truly love running the B&B, meeting new folks from around the world and making sure you have a relaxing stay. We didn't get to make use of the backyard — next time for sure, it's huge and looks like the best place to kick back and rest after travelling. Also — Lois was extremely attentive to my celiac request — her cooking was delicious and the thoughtfulness more than appreciated. Will be back again and again :)
