Terrible food and the average service for very high prices. The tables are too close each other and it’s very noisy. No privacy. The main dish is a hamburger?! You need to find a new 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳 and a kitchen team to bring the quality up. Not going back.

This place was so hyped in Toronto Life when it opened. Love the view,. Book if you want a table with warmer weather coming. It’s casual not so pretentious. Only complaint was why hardly anything on lunch menu! Food and service was ok decent. Some may complain on price for what you get…but I assume you pay a premium for the view. All good and enjoyable!

Great atmosphere but I had to go to the car and get a sweater — warmer outside! The food was excellent and while the service was hit or miss our server was friendly.

Disappointment all around. We’ve been waiting years to find ourselves at this venue; only to be let down by a kitchen service that seemed to be very inexperienced. Go to The Drake for an inexperienced and costly meal. We ordered “fried chicken” and waffles that turned out to be completely raw chicken delivered to our table. Flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism at this establishment… For the price of the meals, one wouldn’t think you would have to check your meat to be properly cooked. No apology from kitchen staff, and lacklustre server brushed it off. Will not be returning, and will certainly advise friends and others to skip this experience — better service and food can be found elsewhere. Don’t waste your time or money.

Gorgeous place. Great decor, lovely lakefront setting and very good food. Has a Florida Keys vibe.

Really poor experience at the drake restaurant. Everything was unseasoned from start to finish for both me and my partner. The cucumber salad was abysmal… unseasoned, scant pomegranate molasses. The wine was mislabeled and therefore mispriced on the menu but no adjustment was made to the bill. Service was disappointing as well. For the price you pay and the quality of food you get, there is a severe gap. I would stay away and visit some of the other local spots in Wellington.

What an amazing brunch experience! Not only was the view, from the patio, spectacular! The service we received was amazing! Our server, Sharene, was fantastic and friendly. The food was phenomenal and the cappuccino, magnificent! My fiancé and I felt as though we were on vacation! When really, we were just out on a day trip. Love the Drake and will definitely be recommending it to anyone passing through!

Very cool space. Excellent service and covid precautions.
Unfortunately the food was below par.
Undercooked eggs (whites were runny) and the potatoes tasted stale. They had definitely been precooked and left to chill before reheating.
Sausage and bacon were excellent quality.
I would possibly give it another try for lunch or dinner.

Well appointed and staffed. I love the view from the patio. Top quality food, I can’t get enough of the fried chicken and waffles!

Wonderful dining experience on the Lake!

What a great patio to enjoy the last part of summer on this weekend. Staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was fabulous.

Love the modern Motor Inn, incredible rooms, awesome design and amenities.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We made a reservation by phone 3 days prior to our arrival and they did not honour it. They asked for a confirmation number which obviously they do not give out by phone. When we insisted that we had a reservation, the manager refused to serve us under the pretence that we were intoxicated which was obviously untrue but
It was clear that there was nothing we
could do since she apparently was on some sort of ego trip and for what I could gather, it was her mission to not serve us. It’s very unfortunate because we were very much looking for add to this experience however because of this event, we will never be coming back and will never recommend it to any of our friends.

Staffs are helpful and accommodating. Nice to see the lake from our table. The lake is accessible from the back door and is a few steps from the deck. My wife liked her hamburger.

Good for drinks on the patio! great atmosphere but not a big variety of food and accommodations are very pricey.

Cannot say enough about the team. Amazing service, food (Chef is awesome), spaces and vibe. You feel like you are part of the family even though the service is top notch.

I visited the restaurant for a late dinner and was blown away by the amazing food and service. I had the fresh oysters, homemade pasta and local beer, all of it was absolutely delicious. This place has such a chill vibe, I prefer it to the downtown Toronto location. I’d definitely go again and I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting and looking for a night out with friends or a date.

Overall, a lovely birthday dinner, but not worth all the hype. Wine was perfect, pasta bolognese needed a bit more seasoning but tasty nonetheless and the decor was spot on. One complaint would be that considering we made a reservation 6 weeks in advance, the table we were initially seated at could have been better thought out (we asked to switch, which the young man serving us happily obliged). I feel like the three round tables by the bar in the middle of patron and service traffic, should be reserved solely for those who walked in by chance, not those who thought of making a reservation many moons ago. Lastly, I have no issues with families bringing children to restaurants, however I would say it’s common courtesy not to stick the couple with no kids next to the table with five noisy kids.

Fantastic location. Outdoor deck is amazing. So close to the lake. Food is creative and delicious and the service is very attentive. Great spot for lunch or dinner. The dining room is very nice as well. Would be a great place to visit any time of the year.

We recently stayed at Devonshire Inn for 2 nights celebrating our wedding anniversary. The rooms are clean and very cute but very mediocre. Nothing special was offered to us considering that we were celebrating our anniversary (we have gotten better treatment at other hotels). The common amenities are very cute. They have a game room and outdoor seating area. We really enjoyed that portion specially the beachfront. The service is great. Everyone is very respectful and friendly. The restaurant however, is not worth the money. Everything (food and drinks) are super expensive and nothing special. It must say that I had a high expectation of the hotel and restaurant based on what I had read on magazines and Blogs but it did not live up.

This was one of the worst customer experiences I've had in a long time. We waited approximately 15-20 minutes for our drinks and over an hour for our dinner. The oysters we had contained a lot of broken shell and were not shucked properly. The staff seemed very overworked and our waiter complained numerous times about how tired he was and how many big bites he had gotten serving on the patio that day. We took a photo after dinner in the photo booth and were told we were being too loud as there was a hotel room right beside the booth. A) It wasn't quite 10pm Maybe they should move their photo booth elsewhere. The views from patio were nice and we encountered one really nice waiter in the bar named Maxwell but, sadly, we wouldn't return.

Really enjoyed the brunch here. We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio thanks to the amazing hostess Skylar. The view on Lake Ontario was amazing. Food was great mostly unique takes on brunch classics (Drake Eggs Benny was great).

Stayed for 3 nights and had dinner there twice. Very beautiful property and great staff. Food is amazing. Stayed in July. Only tip — bring lots of bug spray! The creek is a mosquito breeding ground. We couldn’t really enjoy the balcony much because of it. However, there is so much to do at the hotel and the area it was only a minor annoyance.

Just stayed for dinner. The place is beautiful. The service is EXCELLENT. The food is mediocre. It's not bad. But just okay. Went with 6 people so an assortment of the menu was tried, no one seemed to think it was anything amazing. But the staff were some of the best! Great, great service.

The Drake has a beautiful dining Lounge facing Lake Ontario which is not more than 20 feet away. This makes for a very peaceful cool setting on a night like tonight with a breeze rolling in of the lake. It can be very romantic. Drake also supports the open mic on Tuesday nights so you can see new and old musicians performing live in their Studio. Thanks Drake for supporting musicians.

Had lunch there, the grounds is fun, they have some outdoor and indoor games for guests. Food was good, though nothing really stood out. Unfortunately service was a little slow. Overall had a pleasant experience. Not sure if I'd repeat as prices for food is on the higher side.

Only went for dinner, didn't stay overnight. The service was excellent. The Inn and restaurant are beautiful. Our host made sure to sit us next to a window seat overlooking the lake if it was available. Food was equally as good. Nice, focused menu with variety of items to make most people happy. Cocktail and wine selections also great. All-around great experience!

From the arrival till the end we were taken care fantastically! The food, the decor, the ambiance, the staff is amazing! The great service follows you from the entrance to the bar, to the beach to your table… This is THE place to go if you pass by PEC for an outstanding experience!

Great little place for dinner. Make sure to go early or RSVP. They so have a small bar that you can eat at. Ice cream is delicious and made by the Drake Commissary. Definitely drop by if you're in the area. Menu changes every year.

I’ve been here twice and both times the food was excellent — 5 stars for sure. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were light and fluffy and the chicken was equal parts tender and crunchy. Absolutely a must-try (I’ve had it both times). My husband ordered the salmon eggs benny and while the Benny part was tasty, he was disappointed by the accompanying home fries. We had seen other plates arrive with vegetables mixed in but when his arrived it was a salad (when he ordered home fries) which was quickly switched to just potatoes. The service both times was very friendly (the server gave us two glasses of sparkling wine for our honeymoon but also because our food took significantly longer than anyone else’s we had ordered before). We weren’t in a rush though so it wasn’t so bad. However, we had to remind the server to bring us a drinks refill. We never did get one in the end. Generally, the service was better in the dining room on my previous visit, which I think is more about them being invested in table turnover. Not in a bad way at all because I completely understand. I would rather be able to take my time than feel rushed so sitting on the patio was great. We sat on the patio and even though it was overcast skies, it was a beautiful view. The previous visit I sat inside with friends and it was sunny and bright. All in all, an excellent brunch spot that we will visit again. Just some timing issues which I’m sure are down to volume.

What an outstanding place. We were looking for a cute place with a view of the water to have a beer/drink, and the Drake Devonshire was a perfect little oasis. The service was everything you would expect from a high end bar and hotel, but the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. I found it to be a gem in my visit, and I would suggest anyone in the area stop by for a drink, or better yet. Stay the night!

Our stay here was absolutely amazing. From the gentleman who greeted us as soon as we pulled up and helped us with our luggage, to the phenomenal front desk staff and everyone in between. This hotel not only lived up to it's reputation but completely surpassed all of our expectations. We were here for a family member's wedding and we were so impressed by how professionally everything was organized. The staff were so wonderful and so helpful during our stay. I work in a hotel and was beyond impressed by every single staff member that I encountered. The decor of the hotel was the perfect combination of quirky and modern and had all of the amenities that you need (and if they didn't all you had to do was call the wonderful front desk staff and ask for it). They have a really beautiful property, complete with an art walk and, of course, the lake. I just can't say enough wonderful things about this property. It was a pleasure to stay here.

My wife and I were looking forward a great lunch at Drake so we biked over from Picton mid-week on two rather high-end Electric bikes and to our surprise the hostess did not seem to understand or did not care about our request for a safe storage for our bikes. She simply said bike safety lock are for people staying at Drake. Well the Drake parking-lot it is rather a dusty and dull affair and consists of a wood LOG to lean bikes against. WOW this for a privilege of dropping $100+ for lunch. So we did not stay for lunch at Drake and will not be back until they choose to have customer service or trained staff. Sad as we had good experience in the Toronto location. For our lunch we rode back to Bloomfield and had a great lunch instead!

I had the Reuben sandwich which was tasty, but I didn't like how it was too crispy for my liking. If you like crunchy crouton, you will like this sandwich a lot. The service was nice, but a bit slow. The view is gorgeous. It's a perfect place to have a drink and just chill.

Beautiful hotel right by the lake. Amazing views and rooms are quite comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant had some great options and had live music one of the nights as well. One evening there was a power outage and staff provided some good alternatives to spend the time but the service was restored quickly. Looking forward to returning for a stay when the weather improves.

Had dinner at the Drake had been awhile and was hoping that this place was going to redeem itself. I live in The County, and although this is a popular tourist spot, it's not necessarily popular with locals. I have been several times, and both service has been iffy, and food so, so… it's been a good corporate menu dictated by Toronto. Last nite however the food was quite good, a delicious pork chop special which was amazing, and the service was excellent… seems to have hired themselves some staff with personalities and the essence of customer service. So it's redeemed itself, and I will be recommending it to my customers throughout the summer months.

This place is simply amazing. The interior design is on point and the game room is cool. Great brunch with a stunning view on the lake.

We went for Sunday brunch. Great staff, we received our drinks and food quickly, and it was all delicious! I'm regretting not asking for an order of the blueberry scones to take home — they were incredible!

It feels a bit out of place in a community that caters to quaint mom 'n pop type shops. It felt like we hadn't left Toronto! Not ideal when looking for an escape from the city. But great views of the lake and high energy spaces within the hotel / restaurant.

We stayed in the Owner’s Suite last night, where I proposed to my girl on the eve. It was an amazing stay. The suite was surprisingly beautiful. Every staff was so welcoming and accomodating for all of my needs. Sara and Lindsay at the front desk were very helpful with my plan even before and during the stay, arranging everything I needed in a perfect timely manner. The dinner at restaurant was delicious and the server, who we found out was also aware of my plan, was amazing throughout the dining. The general manager wrote us a Christmas card along with a small gift, which was very thoughtful. My fiance loved every second of the stay, and we’d like to thank all the staff at Devonshire for our unforgettable experience.

Beautiful place. Friendly service at the restaurant. The place was fully booked with a wedding party so we couldn’t get a room here but we made sure to book a table for brunch. The Huevos Rancheros were to die for and the desserts are a must have. The staff are so accommodating — nothing is too much trouble. Would love to return.

We visited the Drake Devonshire for the first time last night for dinner and drinks during Countylicious. They offered a price fix menu with a variety of delicious vegetarian, fish and meat dishes. They also have a great cocktail menu with local ingredients. The service was top notch. Our server was friendly and attentive, as well as the hosting staff and runners. The ambiance was beautiful and their art work choices are both unique and colourful. We loved the entire experience.

So I called Drake on a last minute whim so see if I could surprise my wife with a night out of the city on her birthday. Jonathan was the Drake representative who picked up my lifeline and saved me. He is incredible! Getting there — an easy 2hr trek out to Prince Edward county from downtown TO. No problem. The rooms — all unique, quiet and extremely well appointed. If your a design nerd you will love it. The grounds — Right on the water and 4 iron away from the main strip. Some interesting spots to paruse the games room/library, beach, photo booth! The restaurant — Is a top notch experience, on par with the very best Toronto has to offer. Many of the ingredients are from local farms and you can taste the difference. The service — A+ all around.

I have visited the Drake Devonshire twice now to eat at the restaurant and both times I was highly impressed with the service, food and of course the stunning views. The second time I visited we were seated outside and our server even brought out blankets for us when the sun went down and it started to cool down. Drink selection is also very unique and dessert is not to be missed. Worth a trip to visit this spot, even if you can't get a spot in the hotel, go and have some drinks and look out on the gorgeous patio.

Great view of the Lake. Got seated relatively quickly for a busy Saturday brunch menu service. Overall, service was prompt and attentive. Food was decent, chicken and waffles were crispy albeit would have preferred the maple syrup on the side so it didn't soak through the waffles. The chilli's in the waffles were a nice spicy and sweet touch. Great place to stop by and grab bite and relax on the patio. Worth the stop over.

I didn't stay here, I just ate at the restaurant Beautiful location, right by the lake. Getting a booking might be tough as its very busy. The location and the decor are a huge draw, they are so pretty. We ate at the restaurant, the service was exceptional and so were the drinks. The food was above average but was overshadowed by the decor, service and drinks. The burger, truffle fries, corn, oysters and deserts were superb.

Beautiful location on the lake. Fantastic architecture. Good place to relax with a glass of wine. The cut of steak… meh: (. Medium rare shouldn’t be tough. My oldest liked his burger, but my youngest was constantly spitting out gristle.

We had lunch recently at the Drake Devonshire with a friend. The ambiance including the marvelous art both inside and outside is perfect. The setting right by the lake is perfect. The service was a bit hurried but friendly. Our one big comment is on PRICE. We paid about $150 for one small glass of wine each and one modest main dish each. My wife and I had the chicken salad plate which comprised maybe eight bits of chicken and a few leaves of lettuce for I recall $23 each. Very tasty but we were underwhelmed by the puny snack-category portion. Our friend had fish and chips (emphasis on the chips). So a good experience overall but extremely expensive.

Food is very good. View is very good. The service not so good. What's with the Drake Attitude? It's as if we should thank the Drake for letting us eat there. We were told that to make pasta for children would take 40 minutes. Then they brought 2 out of the 7 meals, big pause then 3 more. More pause then 1 and finally the child's meal. We thanked the kitchen for feeding us. The food was fantastic and we were so grateful they fed us. Thanks People of Drake we are unworthy.

One of the nicest and modern places to visit in Wellington and the County. Dinner: service was great, quality of food was ok. The County has other better places. Breakfast: Service was great, but the brunch we had was really good. Their Patio is really nice looking at the lake.

Beautiful restaurant, meticulously designed and maintained, with entertainment for children of all ages. Private beach with an incredible view make dining outside or in something to truly enjoy. The food is obviously made with love. I had the Manhattan Chowder and beef tartare, which were both fantastic. Our server was very warm, while remaining very professional. The manager came by to ensure the food was up to par. I haven't anything but positive reviews for this place. I will go back as often as possible.

We returned to the Drake for the second time in two years. This review is focused on the restaurant and food in particular. Food quality 2/5 Food presentation 2/5 Food value 1/5 Service 4/5 Ambience 4/5 I am having a difficult time with this review. This is Prince Edward County and there are numerous suprising locales to visit for foodies but alas the Drake is not one of them. We tried almost 80% of the menu amongst our group and was sorely disappointed on all aspects. For example the crispy shrimp is served with a glob of sauce and some random garnish of "greenery" more suitable in taste and quality at a roadside fish and chip shack. Their sides are ridiculous for the price. Their fries with "truffle" could not be distinguished from my child's serving with his burger. Look carefully at what the top restaurants in the area are and focus on them over this establishment, especially if you are not a hipster…

We had a really nice experience at the Drake. Our server was excellent and we both enjoyed our meals — Trout and Reuben — save for the "truffle" fries. Don't bother paying the extra $3 for fancy fries, because they ain't that fancy. Asmentioned in many of the reviews, the view is beautiful. And they have some fun activities to entertain you while there.

Stopped for lunch when back in Wellington for the day. Great location and the patio over looking Lake Ontario is amazing! I ordered the Reuben and it was an excellent sandwhich! Nicely toasted, generous portion of corned beef and tasty whole grain mustard! Very friendly service and I even liked the choice of music they had playing in the background. I'll definitely try dinner the next time I'm in town!

We went there for lunch on our honeymoon this week and had such a great lunch! Food was amazing and so was the red sangria! Also would recommend the Drake + Bake with ricotta, absolutely delicious! Staff was super friendly and the view was incredible! Would highly recommend to anyone!

This was our second overnight stay at the sensational Drake Devonshire. We had the pleasure of sleeping in the A frame suite with its oversized sliding door, which we left open to feel the breeze and listen to the cascading waves. The atmosphere was relaxed and idyllic. The staff are friendly and attentive, the menu is fresh and varied. The restaurant staff were knowledgable and thorough in accommodating a host of food allergies, making it appear effortless. Two regrets: we went off site and we didn't stay longer.

We got married at the Drake Devonshire this past weekend. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The whole weekend was absolute perfection, and there are so many people at the Drake that contributed to it. Every single person we interacted with during our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and morning-after brunch was helpful and genuinely nice. The parking attendant, front desk staff, cleaning staff, kitchen staff, bartenders, security guard — everyone was genuinely happy for us, and wanted to do everything in their power to make it perfect for us. All of our guests felt the love and had nothing but positive things to say about the rooms, the views, the people, the drinks, and of course the food. Special thanks to Jessica and Morgan for being kind souls and incredibly helpful people.
