Perfect location and perfect hosts. We arrived later in the evening and were greeted and shown around. An exceptionally stocked b and b with all things needed. Breakfast was incredible. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed the forest walk and afterwards relaxing by the gas fireplace in our room. The heritage home and grounds are gorgeous. We arranged for an evening meal which include a number of menu items. It was all delicious as was the breakfasts.

Our 2-night stay at Harlem Stonegate B&B was wonderful. Dave and Alicia have done a great job with so many lovely details. The breakfast and morning in coffee were absolutely delicious! And we felt at home in the beautiful historic stone house. The area is quiet and very beautiful surrounded by family farms and wild spaces. There was plenty of wonderful sights to visit and excellent restaurant recommendations. Overall we would highly recommend this place located in a beautiful, historic area of Ontario.

My boyfriend and I came to stay at the Harlem Stonegate B&B for two nights in July. We felt welcomed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean and host Alicia kindly reminded us of the amenities available — coffee, tea, and sparkling water, as well as bathrobes and a hairdryer.
The food was exceptional and we enjoyed our breakfast outside on a screened deck. Alicia is a fabulous chef and Dave provided great service as well as great conversation. Alicia also gave us plenty of recommendations for food and beaches in the area which was very helpful.
Dave also let us relax in a yoga sanctuary he built at the back of the property on the edge of a pond. We loved the peaceful and tranquil environment and reconnecting with the sounds of nature.
Would highly recommend a stay at the Harlem Stonegate B&B for anyone who wants to relax and recharge!

We were visiting friends locally but needed somewhere to stay. This is a hidden gem in Elgin, Canada. The hosts were great and very accommodating. The place is super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing.
Would definitely recommend this lovely Bed and Breakfast.

We enjoyed a restful one-night stay at Harlem Stonegate. Lovely spot, and helpful and informative hosts who regaled us with stories about their experiences prior to arriving in Portland, and after! A particular highlight was the Yoga Hut down by the pond, and the delicious breakfast that powered our day of cycling on the Cataraqui Trail!

Good fortune brought my wife and I to Harlem Stonegate!
We had originally planned a stay in Gananoque to celebrate our anniversary. (Watch a show at Thousand Islands Playhouse and booked a B&B in town).
Two days later I received an email from that host. There was a planned power shutdown for the entire town the next morning of our stay and that they would not be able to provide a hot breakfast. First off, I was shocked that a hydro company would do that. Secondly, it left me scrambling for alternative accomodations.
I thought maybe drive to Kingston after the show, but the hotel we like to stay at was booked and all the others were not ideal. So I started to expand my search further… Long story short we came across Harlem Stonegate; a very cute and cozy farm house that sits and many many acres of land.
If you read the reviews here or on any other platform, the reviews for are glowing. Well… they are all very accurate!
Dave and Alicia are the proud owners of this wonderful place. They make every effort to make you feel welcomed; from the time you book, to the time you arrive, and especially during your stay.
We highly recommend planning a stay here. You won't regret it. Dave has amazing stories to share and Alicia expresses herself very well through her food!

Bedroom with en suite is truly lovely. Simple elegance indeed! We were offered a choice: Breakfast on the verendah was what we love! The gardens are so well loved, “growing one’s own”. Good for a break from city life!

A wonderful B&B managed by wonderful people. The beautiful house has three guest rooms, and we occupied one of them. The serenity of the place, the impeccable hospitality, the level of comfort and cleanliness of the room and the bathroom were all just perfect. Dave and Alicia are perfect hosts, kind and ready to help with everything — from excellent suggestions on where to eat in the area, to waking up early in the morning to prepare for us the most delicious breakfast, all made with produce from their own garden. I only wish we had more time to stay with them in Harlem Stonegate! Thank you both so much!

This time was 5 nights. Next time, I may not leave!
David and Alicia are the most incredible hosts!
They are a power couple who pour their heart and soul into ensuring their guests are comfortable and well taken care of.
If you are in desperate need of rest and relaxation in a breathtaking, quiet, peaceful, and serene environment, I CAN'T recommend anything higher than Harlem Stonegate!
My first stay was in the Garden View Room which was SO cozy and elegant with an amazing view.
My second stay was a huge tent in the middle of the hayfield, and it was the most luxurious camping experience I've ever had! The fire flies at night was the most gorgeous sight I've ever laid my eyes upon!
And to awaken to the beautiful sounds of nature every morning was absolutely amazing!
I sought out coaching from David, and the man is a gold mine of knowledge! I can't believe how much I learned in 5 days. Since knowing David, my life has improved so much. I can't thank him enough for his knowledge and all that I've learned.
And the food… oh my God!
Remember Grandma's cooking and baking, from scratch, from the garden?
NOTHING is better than homemade, and these 2 are magic in the kitchen!
I apologize for the long review, but it's so very hard to paint a picture of my amazing experiences at Harlem Stonegate in so few words.

Outstanding B&B in paradise — away from the hustle and bustle of the great city and yet close to many historic sights (Rideau locks) and quaint towns (Perth and Westport). The hosts are most gracious and true professionals when it comes to making their guest feel welcome — the 1830s house has been renovated with great taste. The rooms are comfortable and the bed in our room was the biggest, most comfortable bed, I remember. The breakfast was for true gourmets…
We will be back!

I was gifted #alltheprettythings. One of the recommended places to stay was the Harlem Stonegate Bed & Breakfast. Since I didn’t peek in the envelops, I didn’t know where we were going ahead of time. The location ended up being perfect for our adventure and was approximately 30 minutes away from our 1st location and even closer to the other stops.
The hosts David and Alicia were warm and welcoming. They made sure we had everything we needed.
We had an amazing stay in the Stonegate room for 2 nights. The room was spotless, the bed super comfy and the bedding luxurious! The breakfasts cooked by Alicia were memorable and the portion sizes generous. She was very accommodating and adjusted the meals based on allergies and preferences.
On both days we had a large bowl of fruit served with homemade granola and yogurt. One the first day we also had a savoury dutch baby topped with greens from the garden. For the second breakfast we had crepes filled with bacon and mushrooms which were also accompanied with fresh greens. I am drooling just thinking about both those meals and I think they belong in a cookbook!
Behind the house, the grounds have been left in a more natural state. In one location they have built a screened in sitting area near a pond and tall grasses. Our time was short so we only spent a half hour listening to nature but it would have been a perfect location to curl up with a book.

We cannot wait to go back! Dave and Alicia were the ultimate hosts and their service impeccable. We enjoyed every aspect from our night sky experience to the luxurious accommodations and the food. Oh, the food! True culinary talent although Alicia will tell you she is not a 'chef. ' Everything home made and farm to table. We had two amazing breakfasts (omelets and crepes) and one dinner (grilled pork tenderloin medallions, beet salad, and butternut squash soup). All freshly made and delicious from the chutney to chocolate cherry cake. We will definitely be in contact for recipes! Our hosts were attentive and so easy to be with. They provided the right mix of company and privacy. We stayed in the Stonegate room and enjoyed the use of the fireplace nightly. Our room was beautifully appointed, no detail was missed. Such a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.
Dave and Alicia, if you ever come to the Fingerlakes Region of Central NY, you have a place to stay. We hope you take us up on that! Bob & Gail G.

From the moment we drove up to the property you could feel the stress peel away. Alicia greeted us on the beautiful wrap around porch and took us to our cosy room.
The house has so much character and Alicia and Dave put so much work into making everything calming. We had a great night sleep and woke up to an absolutely delicious breakfast. Dave didn’t have to ask if we enjoyed it because our dishes were scraped clean.
After breakfast Dave took us on a tour of the property which is so peaceful and then we had a great chat with both of them before we left.
They are such a great couple, hard working and very down to earth. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay and hope to see Alicia and Dave again soon.
You definitely want to stay here and be transported to somewhere very special!
