They said check-in was 2. I showed up at around 3:20 but didn't get the key until around 4 because it was not cleaned yet. Rooms are tiny but not too bad. Bathroom is so small you would have to open the door to change your mind. Bed was decent. Location to downtown was nice but there is nowhere to park. Not even to drop someone off. Ended up parking at Ryerson and paying a small fortune.

Budget hotel do not be put off by exterior. Rooms are clean and have coffee machine. Nice breakfast. No view in our room just a brick wall.

It's a good place to stay at for a few nights. Prices are expensive but still acceptable. Staff is helpful. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is solid without being outstanding. Convenience stores and restaurants are nearby. You are a ten-minute walk away from downtown and the next subway station.

It was perfect for our little getaway. The hptel is not in the best part of town but worked for what we were looking for.

Great location in downtown Toronto. Beds were clean and comfortable. The service was exceptional. All the people at the desk were friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I have to say is that the views weren't good. You can pay more to get some of the best views in the world at other hotels in the immediate area.

Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Internet was very inconsistent however, making it hard to work from the hotel room or use internet altogether. Continental breakfast consisted of toast or cereal. Juice machine was non functional the first morning. Staff was courteous. The hotel was undergoing renovations, but it did not impact my stay.

Helpful staff. We were able to leave our luggage at the lobby counter after we checked out until our flights out. 10 minute walk to downtown!

Got a great last minute price but the entire experience went sour when two weeks later I find the staff charged $200 for special cleaning. They informed me that was the cost for smoking in the room. Um, guess what? I dont smoke. I did go outside by side door to Gerrard St with my friend who was leaving. We stood outside by the door where he shared his medicinal smoke. He left. I returned to my room. Thats the only smoking I did while lodging yet that cost me $200. Left 2 messages for the manager from whom I never heard back.

Very cheap accommodations. The room was adequate, with a reasonable bed. The continental breakfast was sufficient, albeit, a bit limited.

We stayed there this week. Had a great experience. For the price ($120-$150 a night) we were VERY pleasantly surprised. Thats cheap for downtown Toronto. Our rooms were very clean. Bed super comfy. Housekeeping came and cleaned every morning and replaced towels and toiletries. Front desk was very help. Big shout out to Jacob who helped make out stay great. Supposed to be for Wednesday and Thursday but we got a second room Thursday and stayed Friday as well. We didnt see any hookers. Not more homeless people/crackheads than anywhere else downtown. This is not located in the bad part of town, that is about 2 blocks up. Didnt hear any gun shots like some reviews say, or see any fights. Hotel is 2/3 blocks from the Eaton Centre and a $12 can drive (in bad traffic, $8 with good traffic) to Union Station/Rogers Centre. Really really impressed. Will stay here every time.

No elevator for starters so when your room is on the 3rd floor and you can't reach front desk on your departure day for help with your Luggage because the phones don't work well… that sucks. Don't think I'd come back. On positive note the room was very clean.

I enjoy this hotel and the staff but I do not enjoy the noise. The workers that are doing renovations have no respect for the people staying here. I could understand working and some noise is unavoidable. But stomping, yelling, and blasting the radio from 8am until the evening hours is unacceptable.

For the price it has great rooms and location.

The heating didn't work in the first room. We had to move to another room.

No frills and less Toilet Paper. I mean, make the bed and tidy up but don't give more tp? I had to ask for some and they gave me a single roll. Geez. Can't beat the price!

You need a cab cause parking is soo far. Mold in bathroom and along bathroom curtain. Went to concert got back late no heat In room. Literally slept with all clothes on. Was a joke. Tried to get help but was 2am. Front desk guy was friendly he gets my only star. This is the first negative post I've ever left. Don't stay here.

Room wad a little cold & plain but they were fairly accomodating in taking me on at the last moment.

It's a 2 star hotel, and you get exactly what you'd expect. The sheets smell fresh and clean and the suites have enough space for a small sitting area and a bedroom area. But there were some stains on the carpet, no elevator, potentially prostitutes visiting other rooms, and our room at least was very interior — only a small window in one corner. There is a continental breakfast but it's very starch heavy (breads, bagels, & spreads, packaged muffins, cereals, juice, tea, coffee, bananas).

The hotel was a great for the price! The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable and the A/C was fantastic! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Only minor thing I could look for something to complain on, is that the breakfast was very limited, but even then it was included in your room price so I was grateful to get breakfast at all because no other Toronto hotels I've stayed in have had breakfast included.

Room and Literie OK, tasteless breakfast and common area degraded and dubious cleanliness.

This Econo Lodge was exactly what we were looking for in our short trip to Toronto. Easy walk to downtown and harbour front areas, clean rooms, very friendly staff. Though slightly warn down, it provided the necessities very well.

This is a great value to be pretty close to downtown Toronto. The building is old, the beds are old, but its VERY well maintained. Do not expect brand new beds but expect everything to be clean and staff that is very friendly and helpful. It's a 5 star because of the price/value.

If I could put NO star I would! This place was the most scuzzy room I have ever stayed in my entire life and I have been in my share of hotel rooms. The manager had obvious issues with my husband carrying pot do to a medical condition. He accused us of smoking in our room saying our smoke alarm went off when we were gone. He tried to charge us for "smoking cigarettes" and when we confronted him on this matter, he then specified that it smelt like pot and there was smoke coming from our room. The funny thing about this is that we spent no more than 1 hour in our room that day upon arrival to get ready to go out for the day. We don't disrespect hotels and actually reinforce their policies and we are very considerate people.

Good service, good value for money, cons no parking.

The staff are very friendly, the rooms are simple. The beds are correct and the shower jets are not very strong.
It's worth saving but don't expect to be pampered to the little onions.

If I could give it less than a 1 star, I would. The photos I saw online look clean, basic but clean — it's certainly basic and also disgusting. As I write this, I am currently staying at this "hotel" as they call it. The furniture in the room is sloppily place and crooked, all the knobs on the dressers and drawers are crooked and loose. The bathroom floor was covered with long hairs when we arrived and the toilet seat was so loose, I almost fell when I tried to sit down on it. Also, the fan in the bathroom doesn't even work! The room details state that my room is a queen size bed — it's a double. It also states the room provides a AM/FM radio — is it hidden somewhere in the room? It doesn't exist. Out of the two lamps in the room, one does not work no matter what we tried. The carpet is so dingy I refused to take my shoes off and let my bare feet touch it and there are marks all over the walls. I think the bedding is supposed to be white but it's so old and worn out that it's more of a dirty great color. Had there have been any other hotels in Toronto that weren't fully booked tonight, I would've left here immediately and stayed elsewhere. Gross, just gross. I'm going to see if I can't get my money back, but from a place like this I highly doubt I'll get anywhere.

My stay was so miserable and disturbing that it warrants a complaint. No accommodations for the handicap. I have an illness that leaves me with limited use of my legs and need wheel chair access. There was no parking close to the building's main lobby. Or even on the street. The main lobby went down stairs into a main room, with again no ramp or access. Totally inaccessible to handicap. Settling in our rooms we found them to be unbearably hot, and found that the air conditioning did not work. The rooms were dirty and smelled. This hotel is located adjacent to a Homeless Shelter/hospital and the street behind us was riddled with crack heads and vagrants making noise all night. The sounds of ambulances and gun shots sealed the deal for us making our move out of the hotel the next day. We had booked a party of 3 rooms. When checking out we found that our party had checked into their room and was reduced to a much lower cost (50% of the price). When brought to the management they informed that there was nothing that the could do to reduce the price. We had checked out a day early of our 2 day stay and went to a better hotel. Later that day both me and my father received calls from our banks informing us about fraud. We come to find that the manager had charged us in full for both nights stay not once, but three times; causing us to cancel our credit cards causing us to return home for the remainder of our 7 day vacation (this was day 3 of our trip).

Expensive for so little helps but well received.

DUMP plane & simple Denise u need to stop letting hookers in rooms in late morning but oya seems they know u come on people this hotel need to b rated a d/f, plus the eggs & bacon are not real food unless. U are mighty hungry. Soup kitchen as better.

Great cheap place to overnight in Toronto. Room was clean and good. Staff were friendly. It was the comfort of a large chain hotel at a bed and breakfast price. Would stay again.

I checked in March 26 2016. The front desk person was Denis, he was very friendly, He was actually the first Canadian person I spoke to besides the taxi driver from the airport. Denis was very nice and polite and answered all questions I needed. I went up to my room and it was nice and clean. I have no problems with room. Another front desk person was Sheela, another friendly person. She helped me get around Toronto. I asked her many questions on how to get around to different places. And Jacob the Manager again was another nice person and helpful. The staff was just great and my stay in Toronto was even better thanks to the staff here,,, thanks again… Pete.

This place was a DIVE! We were accosted numerous times by crackheads, one of which was particularly aggressive, calling us "cockroaches" for not giving him money to get his "5-piece". There was a prostitute working the corner the one day, saw her in the morning, then again at night. The first room they were going to give us was filthy, not to mention that the basement window opened up onto Jarvis-no thanks. The second room offered was better, but way too small for two friends. The place was dated, and smelled musty. Didnt dare eat there. Stay somewhere else. Gross.

The rooms are small They jacked up the price from when I called till the time I got here. Run down Nothing like the pictures Over priced The cubbies doors feel off when I opened them. Shower pressure is weak Overall worst hotel I ever stayed at in my life.

The room was disgusting, floors sunk when u walked on them, the shower was the saddest excuse for a shower. Leaked all over the floor, which drew my attention to the water damage in the bathroom. Also noticed behind the bed and in the corners of the room were shabby carpentry. Very unprofessional. The towels looked dirty and yellow when they should be white. Bed was missing the fitted sheet. By far the worst stay of my life.

Rude staff, horrible location, noise travels like the walls are made of paper. And the continental breakfast barely consisted of anything.

Rooms were clean enough but customer service was horrible. Even though I had the second key card, they stopped me at the front door and wouldn't let me go to the room since it was in my friends name and not mine. Wouldn't allow me to go to the room that I paid for.

NO PARKING! Continental breakfast is not continental. They have cereal and bread with a bag of milk. Worst part of town with many characters in each direction. They do have Wi-Fi 2Mb/0.6Mb. Many of the TV stations didn't work. When we entered the room there was a gross smell and even in the winter we had to open the window to air the room out. I went to the bathroom for a shower only to find lots of hairs in the tub and a toilet seat that looked like it had not been cleaned. I called the front desk to get the bathroom cleaned and they sent someone up surprisingly right away. The maid however could not see that the bathroom was dirty and tried to convince me it was clean. How could it possibly be clean with all those hairs in the tub? I wanted to puke. Do yourself a favor and stay on the west side of Yonge street.

Acceptable. Located at Gerrard and Jarvis, one block away from the heart of church street. About 25 minutes walking from the heart of the city. The double bed rooms are small and many television stations don't work. The beds were clean however! Continental breakfast was impressive for the price.

The night front desk clerk was helpful and aware, and non-discriminatory. Can't say that about the day staff.

Horrible customer service. Paper thin walls with people screaming all night. To top it off our room was infested with bedbugs. Woke up with horrible bites all over. When we told the staff they were extremely rude and did nothing about it. Do not recommend one bit.

VERY VERY DIRTY! Air conditioner not working, dirty bathroom. Had to cancel the reservation and find another hotel in the middle of the night.

Good rooms, comfortable bed, and inexpensive. No issues other than someone trying to get into the wrong room in the middle of the night, also its on a pretty major intersection so noise can get loud at times. But overall well worth the price.

The list of bad things about this hotel goes on and on, the only good thing was that the bed was comfortable. The neighborhood is full of crackheads and prostitutes, I checked in after a long drive at 5am after booking this on hotwire. The booking said "pet friendly" and no checkout time was specified. First thing that happened after I got my room key was the front desk guy (Expedito) phones me to say that "check out is at 11am" — which was not specified in my hotwire documentation, nor was he able to prove that to me. Most hotel check out times in Toronto is noon, but what I found most irritating was the fact that immediately after I entered the room he is on the phone telling me about the check out time as if "we can't wait to get you out of here". That has never happened to me before, he didn't even give me a chance to put down my bags and review the hotel policies in the binder on the desk. Speaking of the binder on the desk, it did not include a Wi-Fi password, and I could clearly see that checkout time had once been noon, and was now whited out to say 11am. I felt like the guy at the front desk was being discriminatory towards me, so even though I wanted the Wi-Fi password, I was too upset to call back and ask him for it.

Great value for the price. The neighbourhood isn't very good, which is part of what brings down the price, but the hotel itself is fine. The room was a decent size, and most of the furniture was brand new. The walls are thin, and unfortunately we had some noisy neighbours, but this wasn't a significant issue. Continental breakfast was included. In response to the complaints of other reviewers about the limited breakfast selection, bear in mind that a "continental breakfast" by definition is a limited breakfast that usually consists of cereal, bread products, coffee and juice — which is exactly what is provided at this hotel. The four-star rating I've assigned is relative to the cost of the hotel — when you're paying this low of a price you need to set reasonable expectations. My experience at this hotel was decent without putting a significant dent in my wallet, and I will likely stay here again.

I had the regrettable experience of having to stay here for five nights, albeit that was five years ago. When I arrived, I was told I had no reservation and was left walking with a suitcase up Jarvis in the middle of the night. When I returned the next day to sort things out again, there was more trouble although I forget exactly what. But, I will never forget the free breakfast. Large lumps fell from the milk bag and when I asked for fresh milk, was told they had none. The breakfast was a joke, besides the milk. I would not recommend this place under any circumstances.

Lets just say this place has character. The room walls are paper thin, we were able to hear people opening and closing their drawers at 3am a few rooms down. The TV short circuited, the internet was painfully slow, the mattresses were old and no longer springy in the middle, the pillows were old, flat and hard, and the AC had to be resetted to work again. I don't know what I paid for. Maybe cereal and tea in the morning.
