Beautiful location and even better staff. Sean in Habourstone Restaurant was amazing as was check in staff!

Requested that our room be cleaned. We were told that this could not be done because they were at maximum occupancy. This is a new one for us.

This was our first time staying here at the hotel and it was so nice and absolutely amazing! staff was so friendly and helpful! we will definitely be coming back from now on.

My mom spent a week in your hotel in 2017. It turned out to be the last vacation together as mom passed in Aug of 2017. My Mom's health was not the best when we were there. Very unimpressed with my stay this time. At 8am there was construction in the room above us. I took a video so people could hear how loud it was. We very rarely get a night without kids and a day to sleep past 6am, and I am just beyond unimpressed!

5th time staying here, as always a great experience. So appreciated the dining room staying open for late arrivals. Love the chowder.

Our stay was terrific. Everyone was helpful! Food for our Caravan tour was wonderful.

The attention to detail by the Staff there is impressive… Always greeted with a smile and when looking confused always there to answer your questions… Hotel is is maintained to the highest level. Rooms lack nothing you might need. Beds, pillows beddinging are heaven… room is set up beautifully … Spacious bright and cheerful. open Lounge restaurant in the lobby great chef style food… nite it turns into a bar lounge after 10 pm great bar style food… Coffee Cafe in the lobby serving Starbuck coffee… yum Location well you cant get any better for being in the heart of downtown on the oceanfront most of all you dont need a car as you can walk to all the tourist spots… This location is aimed to please its guests from inside the hotel to outside with lounge chairs for the hotel guests to outdoor food patio to enjoy the views… it's also located right on the famous Halifax Harbourfront Boardwalk… This offers guest beautiful morning walks jogging… lots of foodies to choose from.

Having charged me twice for my room — they then thought it was great to charge me a 3rd time! $2600 for two nights for the noisy cramped room — — still waiting for the general manager to return my call — if not THE WORST HOTEL. I have ever stayed Id be hard pressed to think of another.

The staff are amazing. So friendly and accommodating! best location on the most beautiful waterfront! you cannot go wrong with this hotel!

We spent the extra money for the concierge suite, as we were celebrating. The lounge was closed for the night, and they were offering a coupon for nachos instead. We were fine with this. However, when we went downstairs the front desk staff were rude, and told us we couldn’t have one as we weren’t a rewards member! Why did we spend the extra money then? Especially since it was the smallest room, an awful view, and not at all worth the extra chunk of change.

Security came knocking at my door at 12:30 telling me to keep the noise down. We were not partying. They said it was a ladies voice. Yet there was not complaint. Security was listening outside my door when I went to front desk I was told security was doing their job. Bull shit. My TV was probably louder. Had an argument with front desk. When I asked where security was, they wouldn’t tell me. When I left I said I would check floor to floor to find them. Well. They appeared at front desk don’t treat me like I never stayed on a hotel before. This is aweful. I have never been treated like this before. In all my travels. As a flight attendant. Worst experience ever in halifax. Even at the airport. People were rude. So sad halifax. You don’t know how to treat people.

This is the third time we have stayed here — love the proximity to the water, great restaurants and shops to wander through. We have always had a great experience here! When we checked in today, the hospitality was over the top fantastic! We are a Marriott loyal family and Marriott always treats there loyal customers particularly well but the experience we had today tops it all. Kate and Chad both exceeded our expectations, went above and beyond to make sure this was a great stay for us! Thank you Kate and Chad and thank you Marriott for hiring great people!

Room was beautiful. An older hotel, but obviously very well cared for and maintained. The views from the north side of the harbor were incredible. Room service was alsoquite good, breakfast including both a juice and coffee (not something you usually see).

Beautiful location! walking out the patio puts you right on the waterfront. In the summer you can watch all the ships and sale boats while sitting at the out door patio bar. The service is always friendly and rooms are very comfy. The pool even has an adults only hour in the evening and the morning. Highly recommend!

If there is a better located hotel in Halifax I'd be surprised. As with all Marriott hotels, the rooms, beds and linens are nice. Enjoyed the food and the bar in the hotel, but the best part about it is that it's located right on the waterfront, next to some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. Cows Ice Cream is right next door and a must visit if you're familiar with that PEI institution. Great stay.

This is a beautiful hotel. The lobby is spacious and inviting, and the valet service is prompt and very courteous, offering us chilled bottles of water each morning. There is a cafe in the lobby offering Starbucks Coffee and inhouse made pastries and breakfast sandwiches that are excellent. The bar serves some of the best seafood chowder I've ever had. There is a fairly large patio with ample seating right on the harbour that is perfect for lounging around and watching the boats sail by.

I stayed at the hotel for approximately 4 nights and 5 days. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff is outstanding, the hotel is very neat and very comfortable. I can't say enough good things about the hotel and its staff. If you are looking for a great place to stay in a wonderful town, the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is OUTSTANDING!

Very quiet and comfortable rooms. Restaurant is great with a good variety of foods, had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all were well done. At breakfast, Lee served with a cute smile, just the way I like it.

We stopped here for a well-deserved day and night of leisure after cycling and camping around the island, starting in Digby and riding to the south. The rooms were clean and the beds soft, bathroom was clean and service superb. Great location on the waterfront. Wish I had some pics to share.

I have a reservation to stay at the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront from June 14-16. I have never stayed at a Marriott hotel before. Today I received a phone call with a recording saying it was from Marriott Hotels, and I had won a draw for a free stay, press 1 to claim my prize. Since I'm about to stay at a Marriott, I wasn’t suspicious. Turned out to be a rude, accented scammer. But I have to wonder — was this just a bizarre coincidence? I've never booked at a Marriott, and I've never received a scam phone call from the Marriott. I suspect Marriott has provided my phone number to the scammer. I am now looking for a different hotel in Halifax, and then I will cancel my reservation at Marriott. I will also cancel my Marriott Rewards membership, and I will never stay at a Marriott Hotel. I value my privacy and should be free from scammers. Marriott does not seem to feel the same about me.

A gorgeous hotel, I came here to go to a concert as part of the ECMA's. Bathrooms are very modern, there is a bar/restaurant that we did not go to but will next time. The large room that we were in for this concert was quite elegant. I would love to stay here some time.

Being from the area, I tend to visit more for events and functions. The conference rooms are spacious and provide a great space for industry showcases or press events. Also, if you need a bite to eat or a pick me up there are great restaurants and a coffee shop on site.

This hotel really disappointed me. I booked my room more than 64 days before arrival and immediately requested to have a view of the Harbour. Upon check in, I was told no room with a view of the harbour was available. A few hours later, my friend — who was slightly lighter skin than me — checked in and he was asked what kind of room he preferred. When he said he was there to discover Halifax, the lady had said to him OK, let me give you a room with a nice view of the harbour. When I called reception again, they said no view of the harbour was available. A few minutes later, reception called me back at my room saying they had great news for me. They claimed they had just had a cancellation and I could be offered a room with a view of the harbour for $50 more per night. I had already paid $750 for my stay while my friend had only paid $520 and got a view without even asking for it. What BS? Not to mention that the walls are really thin, you could hear people talking in other rooms, and the customer service was garbage. No apology, no understanding, and outright discrimination/racism.

Staff was friendly and courteous. Hotel had services far beyond any of my expectations, and the lobby restaurant and bar was exceptional. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.

Stayed for a few days while hosting a conference. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, beds comfy, and even though it appears there was some sort of youth hockey event going on at the time, it was quiet in the room. If they're available, try and get something with a harbour front view. I'm not one to care about the amenities, but the soap was amazing. I went online when I got home and ordered some for home. Came back for a second conference. Same as last time. Very consistent service year to year — 2018

Stunning lobby and staff is most friendly and professional. Rooms were quite dated but expected as it seems to be the norm for Halifax hotels. The pedways to get to places near the hotel are very convenient.

These was one of the best experiences I have ever had in a hotel. Our room wasn’t ready when we were told, but they gave us a free breakfast at the restaurant and then also complimentary drinks for my sister and brother (who were there to check in for us) while they waited! Amazing serivce. And the room! Oh my gosh the room! Beautiful. Clean. The most amazing view. If I could rate it higher I would ❤️❤️

This was our (my husband & I) time there. Very clean, loved the underground parking. We were there for the Trade show. The food was fresh, very delicious. Great place.

I often attend conference style meetings and seminars here. Venue is roomy and beautiful. Staff are professional and attentive. Food and refreshments ts are always fresh, tasty, and we'll presented. The views of Halifax harbour are also great and the boardwalk is very convenient for a quick walk during a break.

Very nice hotel. A bit dated but they have tried to keep it updated in the rooms with new vanity and furnishings. But the old hot tub and and older pool show it's age. But all very clean and pleasant. You won't be disappointed staying there.

I was with a group at the lobby bar. The service was excellent. The seating was comfortable. The appetizers were all very tasty and well prepared. The selection of beers on tap was not huge, but there was a good mix of national brands and local micro breweries. I would recommend this spot to get together with a group of co-workers after work, and definitely a good spot to hang out if you are a guest at the hotel.

Had a harbour view which was beautiful. Room was big spacious with fridge. Had breakfast at restaurant and it was delicious. Was a great 2 night stay.

I made the reservation (for 2) in early December for the Christmas Day brunch, and was offered (without my asking) a booth rather than a table for 2. I asked whether it would be a large or small booth, since I didn't want to be crammed into a small space, but was told it would be a nice booth with cushions. Upon arrival on Christmas Day, we were seated at a small table for 2 (not a booth), and though the restaurant was not nearly full (weather was a factor), a family of 6 were seated right beside us. We asked for a booth, but the server didn't seem to think that was possible.
The brunch itself was "ok, " but by no means above average:
— eggs Benedict did not have Hollandaise sauce… had to ask for some;
— most of the food (not surprisingly for a buffet, I know) was only lukewarm;
— there was no whipped cream, or sauce, or yogurt, to have with berries;
— plates were at knee level… probably not most hygienic place;
— one chafing dish contained 2 trays: one with mashed potatoes, and the other with lobster mac 'n cheese, so my girlfriend, who is allergic to shellfish, could not risk the mashed potatoes;
— turkey stuffing was cold.
Those are all the things that come to mind, and as a Marriott Rewards Silver Elite member, I will likely make future holiday reservations at another hotel chain.

Attended a professional course at the hotel in one of the ballrooms. Breakfast was a good mix of hot and cold, as was lunch. The food was very tasty. Staff were polite and courteous, and quick to clear tables. The room was large enough for everyone at multiple tables, and AV technology provided. Parking is scarce as right downtown, but is available under the hotel, although it is pricey.

I enjoyed my stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean with a great view of the harbor. We had doubles in our room, the wife and I are used to sleeping on a queen so we're were a bit crammed together (but we made the best of it) overall great stay and would stay again.

BED BUG! The hotel staff were amazing, definitively are warm and welcoming. Unfortunately at 3 am. I woke up to a bed bug on my bed sheet. I tried to kill it and it just caused blood to splat all over my pillow :| the hotel attended to my call within 5 minutes of calling them and the hotel staff was really nice and gave me free breakfast and offered to switch my room. Which I appreciate, but now I will have to toss my stuff out and wont be coming back to this hotel…

Really. It is a great hotel. I can see that they are updating and that is always nice to come into a nice fresh room. It was super clean and the bed was awesome comfortable. There is the 4 stars. I would have given it 5 stars but, I have to say in my room, there was no need for a night light. The entry door had light flooding in from all sides. Not a huge amount and if you like a night light, it is perfect. But, I like a dark room. No light from the window so it is most likely just my room but …

So yes, it's a nice hotel and yes, it's convenient when staying in the city. But the pricing and service does not give much value. While I can accept that given the location and whatnot will impact the pricing, you need to back that up with great service, and we didn't get anything approaching great. More like indifferent. Check in would have been better with any information at all about the area or the amenities or even an "enjoy your stay', but we got none of that. The room was fine (the view was terrible, but they have no control over that and we didn't make any special requests). In house services like the restaurant and coffee shop were brutally overpriced. We just went to the Bluenose II and had breakfast there for half the price. Just not a great experience. Nothing 'wrong' with it, but for what they're asking in terms of payment, you should get much more out of your stay than we did.

Very nice hotel. The room was large and comfortable. The bed and pillow is really comfortable. The desk is well equipped to plug all electronics. The toilet products are really good. It’s always nice to have good shampoo and soap. The restaurant is really modern and looks good. The staff there is extremely nice genuine. The prices of the food is very good and the food is also very good. The chocolate desert was a meal in itself. The coffee shop in the lobby is also very good with Starbucks beans. The pool is nice but the shower was not equipped to shower before you go back to your room. The hotel is connected to the casino, which was nice when it’s more chilly at night. The picture I included is to show the view you have from right outside the hotel. Right on their boardwalk, the location is excellent.

Dated rooms, bland food, and until many things not up to standards of a Marriott. The only great part is the staff. And location to Casino. Shipping golf clubs, and James, Tyler, Colby, and others were extremely helpful in getting it done. Jonathan at the desk was supper in getting everything out! But duck tape on a chandelier? No toner for either printer used for boarding passes. Poor food quality both in restaurant and at event.

I found the location to be convenient to downtown and the waterfront. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and well maintained. It has a large fitness facility and great bar, coffee shop and restaurant attached. The business center is large and well suited for workgroups. There is valet parking or self parking underground. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very clean hotel with extremely comfortable beds. The staff were very welcoming and professional. The lounge and lobby were very inviting with great drinks and food. Was a great experience and will likely stay again if I find myself in this area in the future.

The hotel is at a very convenient location in downtown, right on harbor front. Lots of places to eat or just have a walk on the harbor. The rooms need updates. Got the room on sixth floor and there was only one small window in the room. Very different from some of the other Marriott properties I have stayed it. The condition of the room was decent and better than some of the other Marriott hotels I have stayed at. Great place to stay if someone wants to visit downtown Halifax.

Was there for a wedding. As emcee, the hotel contact was fantastic! She showed me everything I needed for my announcements and was very helpful during the event. She even bright me a glass of wine when I forgot to bring mine to the podium! The staff throughout the event were great! Attentive but not obtrusive.

Great hotel! It's location is ideal for downtown wandering and sight seeing. The restaurants and bars are great and there's a coffee shop on the main level. It also has a pedway on the second floor to the casino. The rooms are comfortable. The only complaint is that floors 1-4 don't have room safes. The pool and jacuzzi area is great for kids. There is a parking lot attached. It's not included in the room charge. The staff have been great.

We were at Stones Throw patio last Monday to grab a drink and a bite to eat. We stood and waited to be directed to a table and eventually asked the server at the bar if we should order there or seat ourselves. We sat for over 15 minutes without being given a menu, asked for an order, or even being acknowledged that we were seated. There were four staff on the patio and few tables … after sitting for a while without so much as a glance, we left for another patio. Felt very unwelcome!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out, the staff was attentive, extremely friendly, and helpful. The location is fabulous for easy walking to dining, bars, and shopping; yet, the hotel is quiet and classy. My two adult sons and I had plenty to do together and independently. We would really like to come back for another visit and stay longer. Well done, Marriott and Halifax!

Great location to downtown Halifax. Great view of the harbor and waterfront from our room. Clean hotel, very open concept in lobby. Good food and coffee. Direct access to the casino through walkways.

The hotel is in a great location and though the manager sent chocolate to my room the hotel left me unimpressed. For starters my room didn't have a window, I looked into the indoor pool which was nice but I felt like I was in a cave. When I checked in there were dirty dishes outside of my room. I realize this was probably a guest that didn't want them in front of theirs but it still impacts the impression of the hotel. The front desk staff were nice but never seemed to offer to go the extra mile. Definitely not my favorite Marriott location. I do have to say the maid who cleaned my room was awesome.

We go once a year, (pool side room with the kids). We have been to other hotels in the area. And the Marriott Harbor Front is by far our favorite. The beds are wonderful with white cotton sheets and duvets! Lots of towels for the pool. The pool and hot tub is really nice… and we love the new sauna. I would recommend spending the extra to get the buffet breakfast, service is great and food its yummy and tons of choices :)

Stayed for three nights. Really nicely equipped rooms in HFX harbour front area. Great bar with really nice non alcoholic options. Out of towners will like location. Lower Deck is great choice for daily live music and always nice atmosphere.

Worth staying at. Great service, friendly staff and all the things you expect about a great hotel. The plus is that it's on the waterfront so it allows for a boardwalk, visiting Casino Nova Scotia, hoping at local stores and good eats. Everything downtown is within walking distance so definitely a great place to stay.

Having a great stay. In a double Queen room. Friendly staff, very clean, great beds/pillows. Parking is 24$ per night extra. Free Wi-Fi with decent speed or pay for faster if needed but free streams Netflix just fine. Starbucks in lobby. Will stay again.

Stopped in for a quick bite early on Canada day. My daughter wanted some ice cream, although they were serving the breakfast menu still, the bartender made it happen. Always a pleasure to stop into the Harbourstone.

Just beautiful. Great staff, great atmosphere, great ammeneties. Theres an overhead tunnel to get to other places in the city, connected right to the hotel, which is amazing. We had breakfast included in our package and we even had it brought up as room service for free! The room was absolutely stunning. Loved it!

Only positive things were that the building was very nice inside and the staff was welcoming. Now for the reasons I regret my choice of hotel, the room was very pricey for what was included. View was terrible, no one likes looking out the window and staring at another building. Breakfast was very expensive and nothing was complimentary. Only stayed at the hotel due to an event taking place there and will not be staying there again and I do not recommend this hotel.

From our arrival at 2pm on Thursday until now on Saturday we have had nothing but a positive experience. Our accessible room had an issue with the bathroom door opening into the bathroom making it inaccessible so they moved is and have us two free movies. Tanne, a bellman was very helpful. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. The pool is large and the hot tub hot. The staff have all been exceptional. Friendly and accommodating. We have really enjoyed our stay.

We went to 12 Tides wine event. It was in a great location, the hotel is beautiful. We also ate art the restaurant and had some drinks later. The food was wonderful but when we went back for drinks later the service was so slow. We only ordered two drinks each and it took forever for the second round to come. It wasn't very busy either. Otherwise, great hotel.

I didn't stay at the hotel. I passed through it on the way to a meeting at an adjoining building. I bought a coffee at the Starbucks. I have used the hotel before and I have always found it to be clean and classy. And the location is great.

Food and facility is great. Staff are very helpful. Views are amazing. Only downside is vehicle accessibility. But that's downtown Halifax.

Service was friendly and impeccable. The room was comfortable and furnishings were newer, even if the room itself seems a bit dated. The location, of course, can not be beat.

This hotel was really nice. We got a suite by the pool side. The room was big with a mini kitchen. It was nice to just walk out of the back door and straight into the pool or the hot tub. Room service was quick. We didn't need to walk outside to eat because it is connected to the mall across the street by a pedway. The waterfront was just a few steps outside the door.

Well first of all this is a very fancy or elegant hotel. Very clean … Customer service excellent… 5star hotel rooms. And very quiet.

Slept there 2 nights for a friends wedding, wedding was also in the building, room are excellent and good price. Close to everything in the port.

My husband checked into the hotel as I was running a little late. When I made the reservation, I only had one request and when I arrived into the hotel room, I found out that this has not been fulfilled. It was our wedding night and we were finishing the reception at the casino. When I went to the front desk to complain, the only thing they were going to do is give me a 30% discount as they were completely booked. I had asked for a suite with a door separating the bed from the living area. The bed was in the in the middle of the room. After arguing with the receptionist, the manager called saying they would comp the room but that was all they could do as they were completely filled. Needless to say, I was still very upset because I didn't care about the cost, I wanted the privacy. I had to book my guests hotel rooms at a different hotel and will never be returning to the Marriott. They said that the call center was not located at the hotel and this is where the mix up could have been. How can you book a hotel room properly if you don't know what the hotel rooms are?!?. When I was making the reservation, I had asked 3 times that the bed was in a seperate room than the living area. Also, while we were there, we received a noise complaint before the quite time and they didn't have the balls to tell the other person staying what their policy was on this.

My fiancé works 20 days a month across Canada cooped up in little camps, so when he's home, its nice to get to spend some one-on-one time together and take a trip. We went to this location after driving a couple hours — paid for a hot-tub junior suite — didn't have a credit card so we put a deposit down ($250) — our total was roughly $400-450 with deposit. We were told the room 'WASNT READY' after we paid — no worries — we simply went to the casino next door to kill some time until we could check-in. When we came back to check-in a couple hours later from the casino, after finding parking and dragging our luggage in, the guest service rep told us they needed an ADDITIONAL $250 from us before we could go to our room because the $400 we originally gave them was no longer enough money! This was beyond odd seeing as how we PAID ahead of time for the room, the full rate we were quoted with deposit included, so we were told. The desk clerk even ok'd the rate with the manager who happened to walk by at the time of the transaction. Why the extra amount all of a sudden? Well, the desk rep said that he quoted us the WRONG PRICE and wanted us to pay this hefty extra chunk for his mistake to get the room that was offered to us in the first place. Or the other pathetic option was, he could keep the money we gave him and put us in a plain basic room for the amount we paid — but this plain room still wasn't ready and we would YET AGAIN have to come back in a couple hours.

Perfect location and as ever GREAT rooms huge bed and comfortable — we were working in Halifax and needed to stay over and this was a perfect spot. Parking until 5pm the next day too so the $20 well worth it. Rooms airy and spacious and bathroom newly appointed — LOVE the snugly bathrobe too. Staff friendly helpful and efficient one of our fave to stay places.

This is a nice hotel in a very convenient location. However when we arrived we were informed that the room requested was not available. We should have been informed when the reservation was made, not upon arrival. Also paying $80 more for the second night than the first night seems ridiculous. A refrigerator in the room would have been convenient, this is the first hotel we have stayed at that did not have one. On a positive note the room was clean and well prepared, staff was friendly and courteous, and we did enjoy our stay.

Nice Hotel, you are paying for the location on the water and proximity to casino. However, a dispute with front desk and Priceline purchase resulted to double payment after a 24 hour drive. Valet misplaced my key. Email given by front desk faulty and is still bouncing back to me, 3 days later. I have received better service from lesser priced hotels. Shame!
