Great location and friendly staff when we checked in.
Checking out wasn’t that good. Waited over 20 minutes outside with a crying baby for our car. My husband had to go back inside asking again… turns out the lady at the reception never handed over our car keys… no apologies from her side… nothing! Won’t come back.

Stayed 4 nights, 2 rooms. Very quiet hotel, excellent breakfast and coffee. Clean rooms, buuuut, the worst bed I've ever slept on, consistent in both rooms, all beds. Aside from beds… great visit.

Best place around great staff very friendly environment. The staff there will do anything in there power to make sure your stay was more than satisfactory.

This hotel is great for travelers. It has a great location, easy 2 minute walk to the water, and has 2 restaurants in it. It is fairly cheap for a big hotel in downtown Halifax, but you could find cheaper, just not as good of views. Which brings me to the next point, the views are gorgeous. In my room — 710, I can see lots of the city, but also the water as big barges float by. The best part has to be the rooftop harbourview deck. There are chairs at the top of the hotel that have a great view of the city and, of course, the water. There is also a secret zen garden no kdy knows about, which is pretty cool. Overall, great experience.

Staff are great, went above and beyond to make stay enjoyable. One staff even contacted UPS to locate missing equipment I shipped to Hotel for meetings. My review of UPS would be not so nice.

Great staff. Very helpful. Fairly modern rooms with comfy beds. Bathroom was spacious enough with a good showerhead. If you can think about it, get a room on the third floor with access to the terrasse. Then you can step out for fresh air. There's also a better view of the harbour on the 8th floor terrasse. Excellent central location. You are close to everything. You don't even have to leave the premises for great food. It's next to the Keith's Brewery. DaMaurizio is right there and so is Cut steakhouse. Around the corner, A Mano and Bicycle Thief. The Indian food nearby smelled amazing. There's also fresh coffee and tasty food in the lobby's restaurant. Snacks available near the front desk for those who want some late night snacks. It's a five dollar cab ride to the casino, or a ten minute walk along the harbour. I enjoyed the artifacts that were dug up during construction of the hotel. They are nicely displayed. Best value in Halifax. Will stay again.

Stayed Sunday night for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Service was excellent, room was delightful. Walked along the boardwalk in the afternoon, hotel called to say the room was ready. Some time in the Jacuzzi then off to Stayners just down the road for Jazz and dinner. A great night and a lovely stay.

We stayed here two years ago on our visit to Halifax and it is close to almost everything and you are right downtown so you can walk to everything. The funny thing is that traffic time here lasts maybe ten minutes. Nice clean hotel with friendly people but parking can be a bit of a rigamarole to get to. Still I'll return here.

Always a pleasure to stay here. Service is great and Starbucks coffee in the lobby. Parking is a bit of a chore but it's a small price to pay for an otherwise great spot.

When I need to stay in downtown Halifax, or have to recommend a hotel to someone else, it is always the Courtyard Marriott. It's a wonderful location, close to the waterfront, the life of the city, and several excellent restaurants. Many rooms look onto the harbour, and the staff are propitiatory of any need.

I’ve stayed here dozens of times. Always a great experience. Friendly staff, clean, well maintained rooms, nice place to sit with a view the water from the rooftop terrace. I’ll keep coming back.

Location is great for shopping and the rooms are nice too. Recommend a higher floor with a waterfront view.

Amazing room, clean and friendly service. Hot tub is small but can fit two adults. Pool was clean and the workout room was nice.

Very clean and well priced. Location is fantastic. The parking is a costly 22 a night but its full service parking. Great attentive staff amd great views of the water and city.

Clean well maintained hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Room advice — road between the hotel and the waterfront has an endless line of container trucks from the nearby sea terminal and the noise is noticeable on the lower floors. Level 4or higher for an unobstructed view of the water.

Stayed Saturday September 23, nice location and great staff. Our favorite of all the Marriott Hotels in Halifax. We stayed on the 3rd floor which has a zen garden and view of Harbour. We went to the 8th floor which has the best view of the Harbour and water front.

Great location for exploring downtown Halifax. Nice rooms, some with great views of the harbor. Staff was super helpful and friendly; when we called down that the A/C in our room proved to not be working a very friendly maintenance man arrived at our door almost seconds later and fixed the issue in no time at all.

The room was very spacious. Service was great. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Centrally located in downtown halifax. 5 minute walk to the waterfront. Our suite was very large and clean. Polite staff.

The room was very nice. Had a chance to enjoy the harbourview terrace which provides, as you might expect, a great view of the harbour. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Warning do not book this hotel if you want guaranteed accommodation! Although booking was made months prior to our stay on arrival, after a long train trip, we were advised that the hotel had "oversold" the rooms and we had been "bumped". However, we were offered free accommodation 20 minutes out of Halifax for the period of our stay, including cab fares to $ from Halifax. What an outrageous situation! We had our booking confirmed but this chain decided to sell our room to someone else! After a prolonged discussion with the manager, our room was suddenly found to be available after all. A free breakfast was offered only after we requested some compensation. Beware.

This place is what all hotels should be. I can't say enough nice things about this place. The room was clean and updated. The restaurant made great food and espresso was very good. The people working were all friendly and accommodating. The Wi-Fi was easy and no hassle to access as well as free — as it should be. The pool is a salt water pool. There was a shoe buffer outside the elevator on the lobby floor to give your shoes a quick shine before setting out for a night out. The location is fabulous especially if you get the window view. I stayed during the Buskers festival and had a view of the boardwalk along the bay and the carnival all of which are directly across the street with quick access to everything sea side. There is a rooftop patio where food and beverage can be delivered. Valet parking is complimentary. Many, many entertainment and culture opportunities within walking distance!

Super location in the heart of downtown just a block back from the harborwalk area. There is a "zen garden" area with lounges and couches on the 3rd floor, and a rooftop patio with a spectacular view of the harbor (they will deliver drinks up there for a couple of bucks — Canadian) and will also haul a grill up there if you want to have a barbeque (you provide the meat). A short walk to dozens of bars and restaurants. Parking is not cheap at 22/day, but your self park options are pretty limited due to the downtown location. Room was clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Nice rooms with great views. Has terraces one off the spa on the 4th ish floor the other on the rooftop with ample seating. Had lots of snacks available at desk with a Starbucks serving food in the lobby. Restaurants and the wharf are right there. Great for one night. Only downside was we asked for a room for 4 and got a king bed with pull out single bed.

We have stayed in a lot of Marriotts and this is one of the best. Great location, large rooms, modern, very clean. Really good beds! Mini fridge. Love the rooftop deck and Starbucks in the lobby.

Great lobby. It was warm and inviting while waiting for our wine tour. We highly recommend warming up in there before your next excursion!

I stayed Friday night as a little getaway for me and a few friends. This was my first stay at a Courtyard and the service was great, and room magnificent! We stayed on the top floor (not sure if this was an upgrade) and had access to the roof top terrace which had the most amazing view of Downtown Halifax! We used the pool area and it was completely empty so it was nice to enjoy it to ourselves. I work in the Hotel Industry so I definitely notice the little things and can certainly say that I will be choosing the Courtyard for my future stays in Halifax :)

Great location close to our business destinations and great restaurants. Beautiful view of harbour from room. Everything was clean and bed was firm but comfy.

The room was awesome. My wife and I stayed for Valentine's Day and our room had an amazing view of the Halifax Harbour. The bed was a super comfortable king size, and the pillows were so soft. The staff was excellent and our stay was perfect. We toom a swim in the pook and had a great time. We wished we coukd have stayed longer!

Location is nice, easy access to many places to eat. Rooms are nice and we'll kept. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Happy with the price, the size of our room, the view and the especially the location and the staff seemed friendly and attentive. A few things knocked this down to 3-stars from 4. Check in time is at 3pm. We arrived at 1pm, dropped off our bags and headed down the boardwalk to the Maritime Museum. We returned just before 4pm. And no rooms were ready. By this point we had been on the go since 7:30am EST and were just too tired to do anything else. After some gentle cajoling from my partner (we noticed that being angry wasn't getting the other customers anywhere) we eventually got a room. Our room stank of cigarette smoke. Normally I would have requested another on the spot but considering what we went through at check-in I don't think they had anywhere else to put us. We opened the one window as much as it could go and eventually the room aired out. We ended up leaving the window open a lot. Even though we had climate control for the temperature the room was really, really dry. On our last night we got the fleece blanket out of the closet to throw on the bed. It was very comfy. It was also covered in long, dark hairs that were not ours. I don't want this to be a negative review because for the most part we were very happy with our stay in Halifax. Looking back on our trip, the good things about the hotel were what I expect of anywhere I stay and in the end the small annoyances are what stand out.

I can't say enough about the staff at this hotel. Everyone that I met was friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat. I would certainly stay here again.

I came to Halifax for a Thursday night stay, and then the following Sunday-Thursday — and decided on the Marriott, because of it's location to my place of business — and it did not dissappoint. Beginning with the check in on the first day (so fast I thought there was no way they got my info) they were the nicest staff I have ever met. They were deliberate in making sure they checked in on my stay, everyone from the front door staff to the cleaning crew always asked me. I had a complimentary beer in my room on the first day, along with a welcome letter — I was amazed. The room was fresh and clean, quiet, and very large (first night 2 queen beds, the following week a huge 1 king bed room). I filled out a survey the Sunday night after my one night stay that was sent to me, and the following day the Director of Guest Services contacted me via email to thank me, and address my (small) concerns. The only concerns that I had was that there was a limited menu of healthy choices (but always at least one for each menu) and a broken piece of gym equipment. He informed me that the kitchen staff can help me get a healthy choice when ordering (coincidently the next nights special was chicken breast and veggies) and emailed me again when the gym equipment was fixed. This staff went out of their way to make sure that my stay was as close to home as possible.
