The accommodations and staff were excellent. Only complaint would be lack of pressure for showers but otherwise no complaints. Very beautiful and spacious rooms and the staff are well knowledged in recommendations of trails. I do want to take the time to extra compliment the dinning hall. Our first night we had a server whos name is Mad and they were amazing! Mad was excellent at serving giving amazing recommendations, easily joking with my parents and family and creating the warmest atmosphere after a long drive. As a former server, I really appreciate the way in which Mad was so natrually skilled at balancing a relaxed and joking maritime dinning experience with also such professional serving skills. If anyone gets a chance to eat here and has the pleasure of being served by Mad you won't be dissapointed by their service. The food was some of the best food I have had in a long time. I had the trout for dinner and was blown away not just by the fish but the beautiful flavourful veggies that come with it! the chef clearly takes pride in creating delicious meals and my family cleared their plates. The desserts were also delicious although I recommend the cheesecake (blueberry or lemon I forgot). Breakfast was also delicious and their pancakes in particular! I would highly recommend this place, the food, the staff, the locations and entire experience. I only wished we had stayed an extra night!

Great weekend getaway. The room was spacious. The jacuzzi tub was so relaxing! The water wasn’t that hot. Great views of the water. Friendly customer service who didn’t mind answering any questions. The food wasn’t the best.

Over all a good stay no television in the rooms but the room were nice dining was ok not a lot to chose from.

Very run down & very rustic but clean. Large rooms beautiful view, people are really friendly. The food in the dining room is amazing 5 ⭐️ star chef Came out and served us personally lovely touch.

Great food at the restaurant.

We Had dinner at the lodge in the second week of August, and it was the best halibut I’ve ever had! The fish was think and light but the seller of this dish was the fresh garden gazpacho, absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful, and the view was just spectacular.

A dining Mecca. Every item on the menu delicious, beautifully presented and served by the most friendly servers. Enjoyed the lodge, the tasty food and panoramic scenery.

Lovely leisurely dining. Great food & service! We had a family meal there Tuesday night, everyone was very happy with their meal!
Went back today for lunch and was not disappointed!

We absolutely loved this place. Was clean, view was stunning. Restaurant had amazing staff and the food was stunning to look at and even better to eat. We can not wait to be back.

Beautiful spot friendly staff and nice and quiet area and we will be back next year :) my first time here and the scenery is picturesque.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Very clean and cozy rooms with NO tv, yippie! Food in the dining room was very good and overall service was genuinely friendly and wonderful. We will be back.

We enjoyed a nice room with a view of the ocean. The lodge is a bit older, but it was clean and kept up (newish carpet). Our room had a shared balcony to enjoy the view. The internet was a bit spotty, but it is on an island, somewhat remote. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. I will mention that noise travels. Every time someone clomps down the hallway, it carries into the room.

Yesterday, I hobbled in to the lodge restaurant area after spraining my ankle on one of the trails. I was with family and friends, and we were looking for a place for me to sit down. The restaurant didn't open for another hour or more, but they offered to open early for us and allowed us to order. One of the staff found some ankle wrap for me, and another grabbed me a bag of ice. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Another staff member brought me crutches, and one of the kitchen staff came out to see if I needed anything for my ankle. I am finding it difficult to find the words to explain how helpful and kind the entire staff of Brier Island Lodge are. They are wonderful people who went well above and beyond to help me out. Nothing but kind, genuine people work here. Oh, and the food was fantastic!

Beautiful location, friendly staff. Highly recommend staying here if you're headed to Brier Island for whale watching.

A very basic motel setup. It wad very serviceable, but dont expect anything fancy. This is not a luxury hotel. The floors creaked and the walls were lined with wood paneling. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge but no TV and no Ac. The hairdryer in our roo. Did not work. All in all it meet our needs we were there for whale watching and a place to sleep. For the peice I felt like there should have been a few more amenities.

Incredible food! Bruce the chef nailed it. Had the halibut cheeks with vegi's. Every thing was cooked to perfection. Cindi our server warm and excellent. Will be back!

Very remote, clean, quiet and has amazing views. Very friendly people.

It was the off season and there were only 6 people in the whole place. Instead of feeling like nuisances the made us feel like it was all about us. Do not expect television or telephones but who needs the in this day of electronics. Dinner was limited (but we were warned) but we truly felt the chef made it just for us. The menu was local haddock and local scallops (caught very close to the lodge) … the other main was lamb shank. We had the stuffed haddock and the scallops and it was out of this world. If you want to escape this is the place to forget the world.

Bruce was awesome. It was quiet. The perfect getaway. Food was amazing. We really needed this. Thank you.

Really nice lodge, room was bigger than I expected, includes a decent size fridge, big shower/tub (for people that want to take baths), little coffee maker, fan. No microwave or TV’s for the people asking (You don’t need a TV if you go on this Island for vacation). They also give out free ice bags at the front desk and there staff is friendly. They only serve breakfast and Diner, they are not opened for lunch. They have delicious home cooked meals (mostly seafood), there menu is very limited items for people that don’t eat seafood like me (their fries and Caesar salad was delicious). Only tried their pancakes and bacon for breakfast, it was delicious. In regards of the price, I found it was a bit more on the pricey side. In regards to the staff, we had some waitresses that where great but there was one in particular that seemed like she hated us. Oh and they don’t really like splitting the bills (they assume it’s all couples or family) and will also try to charge it to the room, but they will split the bill and let you pay if you ask. You have a really nice view/scenery from the restaurant and also In the morning you can watch the sheep outside.

Lodge is dated and a needs updating, but it was still a nice stay. The island is very charming.

Its a nice and clean place, we loved the feel of being on a tiny island. The staff is excellent and very accommodating. We loved the diner, we took the last cruise for whale watching and didn't return back until pass 10pm and all restaurants were closed but the lodge diner stayed open to cater to the cruise guests which was very nice. The diner is cozy, the service was fast and the food was good.

Beautiful view (when the fog clears), nice but simple rooms, hot showers. The restaurant food is very high quality, but with a price to match — good for a special occasion, but not every day.

Only game in town but clean and nice enough. Staff is lovely and very accommodating. Unfortunately, bad weather moved in so we couldn't do our whale watching and our ocean view was a sheet of fog. Dinner at the BIL restaurant was delicious.

Our room at the lodge was very clean and bright although very uncomfortable for sleeping due to heat. A fan was in the room but did little to cool the room down at night so was not restful sleeping. AC should be available. I liked the no TV but did appreciate Wi-Fi, lol! The whale watching was terrific and even though we were there on a very foggy day we did see them — and dolpins, seals etc. Staff on the boat were super informative. We found the food at the lodge too expensive for our budget especially since we splurged for an extra day added to our package so ate at the cafe for most meals, We did receive a coupon for breakfast and the skillet I had was delish and very filling. My husband had the regular bacon/eggs plate and thought the plate skimpy for the price if he had to have paid for it. We would definitely love to come back but would ask for a downstairs room in case it was cooler. Lovely place!

We were there for breakfast and dinner. Super friendly staff. Regular breakfast fare, but dinner was amazing. We had fresh seafood, tasty pollock, scallops etc. The chef was good, and had access to very good ingredients. We had a good time. Ps. Go early to avoid crowds.

This was our fourth trip to Brier Island, and our third time staying at the lodge. Once again we enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food served in the dining room impressed me more last year, but we still enjoyed our meals. The room suited our needs; the mattress was a bit soft, but we slept well. The lack of a television in the rooms is a good thing, in my opinion. There's less to distract from the incredible natural beauty of this place. (Having said that, speedy wireless Internet service is available. ) The view overlooking Grand Passage, both from our room and also the dining room, is second to none. Our nature walks around the island yielded views of lots of seals and birds, plus we could see whales cavorting around one of the whale-watching tour boats off in the distance (standing near the Northern Light). And, of course, the whale-watching tour we took was amazing. We love Brier Island!

Great service. We had breakfast and dinner there. Prices for breakfast were a bit more than I like but it was good. I had the fish cakes for dinner they were very yummy.

Amazing place to stay. Room had a great view, staff were warm & welcoming. We arrived late in the day, and they kept the kitchen open for us to eat before closing up. Definitely recommend.

The only complaint I had (which isn't thier fault) is that other than salad, I had only pork loin as an option for supper. The rest was fish. I get that its a seaside town and I live in Nova Scotia, but even just a sandwich option would have been nice, as I don't like fish. Other than that, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and super helpful! I will go again. (Im just gonna pack a dinner) ;)

Very friendly and polite. The view is awesome and the food was good, they managed to cook something before the opening because we weren't staying long on the island.

It was a nice, simple lodge with no frills. Just what you want when you are staying out here. There are at least two lighthouses on the island to see. The restaurant in the lodge is good. The lobster bisque was tasty.

Used as my Wedding venue. Couldn't have imagined it anywhere else. The chefs this Summer (2016) were phenomenal! Catered to my 90 guests with no issues. Of course not all of my guests stayed in the hotel as there are not enough rooms for 90 people. The staff were amazing and accommodating! Beautiful location, beautiful views!

Sept. 15 to 17, 2016 — This is my second trip to Brier Island Lodge and both times I was happy. This time I had a nice room right in the lodge and that was great — close to the dining room. The hotel offers good rates, great food in the dining room and a nice staff. My reason for being on Brier Island is to see the whales in the Bay of Fundy and I was not disappointed. The hotel is located near one of the three lighthouses and it is a great hike to go there and watch the sun go down or just to get some exercise. Brier Island appeals to those who enjoy nature — seeing the sun set, the moon rise and just hiking around and talking to the local people. So if you need a reasonable place to stay then I suggest calling Brier Island Lodge.

Loved it — Brier Island, the people of the sea, whale watching, hiking and eating plenty of fish — a great place for your soul, heart, mind and overall health — Loved Brier Island Lodge — their fantastic view and their food and their hospitality… what a place to spend a few days enjoying nature at its finest.

Was disappointed they weren't open for lunch but ended up going for dinner after the whale tour. For was good along with the service. Bit pricey though.
