The wilds resort hosted our wedding, it was beyond beautiful and stress free! food was great and the staff were amazing. Highly recommend them!

Absolute worst night in a hotel I have ever had. Booked here to get a good sleep as we were traveling for 10 hours the next day. There was a wedding in the hotel that night and people partying until 7 in the morning. The walls and floors are paper thin and you can hear everything. Kept us up all night. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk and the TV remote didn’t work even after changing the batteries. Would absolutely never go back.

We had our wedding reception at The Wilds and honestly couldn’t ask for a better venue and service. Beth was amazing to deal with through all stages of the planning and the service was phenomenal. The cottages, villas and hotel rooms are all beautiful for staying the night. I highly recommend The Wilds for anyone looking for a wedding venue!

Talking on the phone to Katrina last night I probably had the best service in a while, all the time beet red from laughing. Great customer service!

We stayed at one of the cottages recently and will certainly be back again. Kelly and staff (Catrina) were extremely accommodating. Loved our stay!

We recently had our wedding at the wilds. Beth the coordinator was absolutely fabulous to deal with! She gave me constant reassurance and ensured all the little details were seen to. We decided to get married during covid-19 and the staff were so accommodating helping us make the best of a stressful time! Beth was always on the other end of the phone to assist with all of my worries and stresses given these uncertain times! They were so accommodating to the constant change in numbers due to government regulations. My recommendation would me for anyone who is contemplating getting married during this pandemic, chose the wilds!

Awesome golf course, friendly and informative staff, nice swimming pool to enjoy after the round of golf, ice cold draft, the room is excellent, I love the walk in shower, upgraded TV, alls ggood, I haven't had dinner yet, but I'm sure it will be good, I would recommend this to play golf relax and ohhh, there's great scenery and walking trails with wildlife and forest, thanks for the hospitality, cheers.

I attended a wedding last summer hosted at this place and my experience was not great. Please see pictures attached, the hotel is not well maintained or cleaned, the furniture is old, some of the flooring in the villas even has cracks. There is no room service, although there is an extension number in each room indicating that such service is available Hard to get someone to answer the phone or answer emails, even to get the booking done was very frustrating, as I had to call (long distance) and email several times before I could talk to someone The rooms were very dirty upon arrival, we had to empty fridges and pick up garbage before some of the family members could settle in their villas The staff need customer service training, the dinning room where breakfast is served, was very dirty the last day we stayed there (people stepping on food all over the floor) and the staff didn’t not even bother to pick up food from the floor even after asking them for it. They seemed very bothered after making such request! Overall I think this place is extremely overpriced for what you get in terms of facilities or customer service. I will not come back or recommend it to anyone who want to get some value for their money.

IWe been to the Wilds for several Xmas parties and a couple of weddings, and have always enjoyed ourselves. But the wedding we attended Oct 26 was outstanding. It was our first time in the new ballroom and it's amazing. The venue was fabulous and the food… stellar! It was hands down the best meal we have ever had at a wedding/event! The food was hot, and tasted divine. Please pass along our compliments to the chef and staff.
The entire staff at the Wilds has always been friendly, helpful and accommodating… and this weekend was no different. But did I mention the food? Again, please pass along our compliments… it was Five star.

The staff are so friendly and the golf course is fantastic. The restaurant food was also delicious. We reserved the king suite but unfortunately I was a little disappointed in our stay. The bed did not look like it was freshly made and it could have used more pillows. The outlet next to the keurig machine did not work and the TV had very few channels. This wouldn’t have been an issue except there was a wedding at the time of our stay and so we were unable to hang out at the lounge. One of the ladies were nice enough to open the gift shop and allow us to buy a pack of cards after hours so we had something to do. There was no mini fridge in the room and the only ice machine was on the first floor which was very inconvenient. Despite everything we had a good weekend. With a few upgrades to the hotel I would definitely stay again. The course is definitely a site to see and the cheesecake is to die for.

Beautiful location, quiet rooms, great golf course.

Just had a family reunion this year. Had a beautiful Villa booked. Staff was friendly, helpful and amazing. The grounds were beautiful, especially up around the cabins were most of our function was held. My compliments to the chef, what a great job on the food. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great course, very scenic and some difficult holes. Staff were friendly. Greens were in good shape despite a charity tournament playing ahead of us. I will be returning to play again.

ACCOLADES – To the most welcoming and hospitable staff at The Wilds Golf Resort. Your genuine care and concern were above and beyond during my stay. From food service, to front desk service. Mary Ghaney Barron and all the lovely kitchen staff (sorry I don’t know all your names) who were so obliging, super friendly and literally ran, to ensure everything from coffee to candy were place. I asked for directions to the newly opened BEAUTIFUL PAVILLION and a staff member literall…y took the time to walk me over and she was beaming with pride about her workplace. Darrell Denief, thank you for your thoughtfulness, kindness, & friendly disposition and ensuring I was “set to go” with my golf cart! Rory MacPherson the evening buffet evoked every sense—sight, sound, smell, taste and hearing (as everyone could be heard discussing the delectable steak dinner) you and your staff prepared. And that butter was the best ever put on bread. The dessert table was amazing & soooooooo tasty! Mother Nature provided the sunshine, the greens were manicured, the scenery was amazing. Thank you all so much! I’ll be back soon!

I have to give praise where praise is due, stayed at the Wilds this weekend past, had an issue that was very upsetting, sent an email and was called and issue addressed within 15 minutes of the email being sent. This people is how you deal with bad experiences, I am not the type to take my experience and spread it publicly because it does not help anything, my issue was caused by one person and one person only, not an entire business. Thank you to the management of the Wild…s for dealing with our issue, not only will we stay again but will recommend your resort 150%. Faith in Customer service restored today! Beautiful rooms, beautiful resort! Thanks Again!

My first time for steak dinner was in 2012. And that was so bad I hadn’t been back until today.
We decided to go to the Wilds for breakfast on Labour Day. Only 45 mins from St John’s. The breakfast buffet pretty good for the price. Coffee was terrible. Service was lacking. Overall it was disappointing… see you again in 5 yrs. 3/5

I had pan fried cod that just fell off the fork. Cooked to perfection. If you get the chance, stop in.

We went for a getaway Saturday night and we were delighted at the atmosphere and surroundings. Quiet as you'd want it o be or as on da go as you want it to be. Great spot for a weekend getaway golf or not…

The wedding we attended was beautiful but the meal catered by The Wilds was mediocre at best, dessert was by far the best course. The room was very comfortable but the pictures we had seen led us to believe there would be a fridge in our room, which was a disappointment and there were not enough pillows between the 2 beds in our room.

We were staying here for a wedding and the rooms were conveniently located close to the event centre. We could easily go back and forth. Great location for weddings and golf!

Visited The Wilds last week for two reasons. One to sample the food and secondly to check out their new Banquet Venue as a possible venue for a Corporate Function. Our experience with the restaurant was exceptional. Service was attentive, friendly, professional and the waitress was very much "on point". Our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering (even though the dining room was quite busy). My associate had a fish dish. I opted for beef. After each of us took our first bite we looked at each other and went WOW. It was absolutely delicious. We were so pleased to learn that the Desserts are homemade …. We shared our desserts and my associate joked that she thought her mom must be in the kitchen. Kind of sums it up there. We explored the hotel and the new event venue. We found the hotel to be clean and well kept. The new event venue is absolutely stunning. We were both impressed by the view and the openness of the space. The huge fireplace found along the wall of one side of the venue is a show-stopper. We have enthusiastically recommended The Wilds to our Senior Management team as the venue for our conference.

We ate at the restaurant there yesterday, while the food was delicious actually the chowder was the best I have had in NL but the service was poor, I also ordered the cod au gratin which I never got. When I asked the server she checked and came back to say it wouldn't be much longer but by that time everyone else had finished their meal, so I just cancelled it, please improve on your service.

Love the place. Looking forward to my next visit.

Myself and 7 friends did the stay and play package in the cabins. First let me say that the wild is absolutely beautiful. Cabins were clean, the golf was beautiful on the first day. Unfortunately the weather changed for the worse the second day and we were unable to play. We were hoping to receive a rain check for the second round (which is included in the price) however we were told that the wilds does not hand out rain checks for the stay and play packages. And true enough the web site does state that however due to the fact that we booked 2 months in advanced and Newfoundland weather is not exactly pridictable, you would think an exception could be made. However and exception could not be made and we went home not receiving what we paid for. To bad I guess. In short I'll say the wilds is a beautiful place but stay away from the stay and play packages. Unless of coarse your sure of the weather.

Good veggie option. More on the cauliflower steak plate would be good. Maybe some wilted spinach under or a side salad for the price would boost ratings.

Once again under new management and sadly 'guests' are an inconvenience. Coming from someone that stays at this facility 3 and 4 times a year, I caution anyone thinking about having a wedding or conference here. The chef is extremely disrespectful and clearly looking to accomodate himself. This would be ok if the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the nachos have been consistently dry, the chicken on the fetticine filled with salt, the vegetables in the soup made from sponge, and is wonder bread really necessary? Anyone can handle a limited menu because it gives a chef an opportunity to do one or two things well. This is not the case here. It wouldn't hurt to have soap properly put in the dispensers and have the coffee machines without corrosion, etc. By no means, since June 2017 have I felt like a valued guest as I have in the past. From the outside looking in, its clear that new management is not talking to their long tenured staff — who by the way know that the bar should be open if there is over 100 golfers. They know that guests will pay for breakfast if it was worth the money. There's a lot of work to be done but unfortunately at this time, they've lost out on opportunities to make more money from the kitchen. It doesn't matter if its off season or in season as it always should be dependent on what the capacity is and of course, keeping guests happy to ensure they come back.

Surroundings are gloriously beautiful. Staff are very accommodating. Resident owls twoot every night, cute.

We attended the New years eve ball, and we had a excellent time, food music, snacks, was well prepared for those attending as well as plentiful, the staff was helpful and very friendly, rooms and building well kept, we would recommend this place as a great place to stay, we sure enjoyed all that was available to us.

We hosted our wedding here and it was beautiful! Guests havent stopped raving about the turkey soup!

My girlfriend and I spent one night at the villa. It was very cozy and clean. Awesome service and the food at the restaurant was great. Will stay again.

Played golf at Calvert Masters, golf coarse was great, people were great, however, the steak dinner was one of the worst, if not, the worst steaks that I have ever tried to eat.

Good location. Visited after visiting Salmonier nature park. Nice restaurant with very affectionate service. Food was good and reasonable. Pool overlooking valley is beautiful.

Great place for some golf, a weekend getaway or even a wedding. Hidden gem of a breakfast buffet for under $20.
