Reviews of Rockwater Secret Cove Resort 4*
Don't waste your money! My fiancé and I stayed here before and had a wonderful stay. We decided to book our honeymoon here since we both loved it, boy was that ever a mistake! The resort has gone extremely downhill, little to 0 maintenance has been done. Our luxury tent house had no hot water the first night. We were told we had to run the sink, shower and tub at once to get hot water… no problem. The tent below us came to party. We had to listen to their music blaring all night, it vibrated our tent. We get that the tent houses don't have walls, but blaring music doesn't really give off the relax vibes this place is marketed to be. We called at 1030 to the front desk, they said the noise rules are in effect at 11pm. Called back at 1130 and the desk staff were gone. Had to listen to their music til 145 am! Music came back on around 645 am the following morning. Not impressed at all. In the resort book in the room it says the rockwater takes noise complaints seriously and that a $200 fee could be charged and given to the inconvenienced. Didn't get that. The couple making the noise however got late checkout! So nice to reward negative behaviour. In fact my husband got into a fight with the owner that morning when he went down to follow up on our complaint that should have been handled that night. The owner told us to leave and that he was worried we would complain again that night… seriously? We are a young couple on our honeymoon just trying to relax.
Where to begin, on a positive note, the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The views were absolutely stunning but then you unpack and your stay begins. We booked an elopement package through the resort and we did not receive the services that were paid for. The cleaning staff leaves much to be desired, the staff was absolutely no help when it came to the ceremony in fact, they held it up by neglecting to have items there that were previously arranged such as ice and our bouquets which were not what we had ordered in the first place. The morning after our wedding, we find out that the breakfast that comes with the package is not to be served to our suite that we need to make the 10 minute hike from our tent suite to the lodge, and then we get a call telling us that the couples massage cannot take place either. At this point, my new wife was sitting on the edge of the bed in tears in disbelief that this resort we had paid to ensure a perfect elopement weekend had severely dropped the ball. Our last night here, we come back to our suite after being gone since we got the call at 9am informing us that there would be no couples massage, only to find dirty coffee cups crawling with ants along with other dirty dishes, no garbage had been taken out, and the bed looked Iike it had been made by a 5 year old. Their answer was to send a bottle of cheap Prosecco to our suite. On checkout, we were advised that nothing could be discussed until Julianne was back on Tuesday.
