Amazing place and very friendly staff. Rooms are strategically located and the whole place has a charm by itself. Great place for weddings and relaxation.

Unbelievable experience. My husband and I stayed in the tent houses (#60) which was by far the best tent. It was right on the water and totally private. We woke up every morning to the sounds of the waves and gas fire kept the tent nice and toasty (although I recommend layers because it can get chilly when the wind picks up! ) I had the signature massage with Anastasia and I can easily say it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life! I highly recommend the full experience if you visit here.
Dinner was good (cocktails might need an upgrade), and the staff were excellent.
Totally relaxing getaway and we will definitely be back.

I would not recommend this place to my enemy. Ashton was absolutely disgusting to deal with. The moment we arrived she had an issue with us (2 couples). Our neighbours who were in the tent between us yelled at us and gave us dirty looks upon arrival because we were laughing and chatting amongst each other. Within an hour, Ashton came to us and said she was going to call the cops on us and that we were getting kicked out for chatting at 4:30pm. We then found out that quiet time was between 11pm and 7am. Very confusing and frustrating. We later went back to the front desk, apologized and moved forward. That night there was 10+ men at the beach partying until 2/3am. It kept us up all night along with a few other couples which resulted in people checking out! We then went for massages (which weren’t cheap! ) and afterwards were confronted by Ashton about how loud we were being last night when it wasn’t us. She wouldn’t believe us and we stood our ground. Ashton then yelled at my friend and her husband, threatened to call the police on them again for no reason and that she was kicking us all out. We had a strong feeling this had to do with race as our friends are Muslim and she was only yelling at them and threatening to call the police on them. She caused quite the scene! We then went for lunch in the town and got a call that they were in fact kicking us out and we needed to find new accommodations. What a joke!

Beautiful location right on the water! Very nice! Would be a great couples retreat!

The location and views are breathtaking. We were in one of their tent and very very nice. The restaurant service was very good but the food was ordinary base on what you would expect on a resort such as this one.

Checking in and out was very simple and they accommodated our request to move cabins when we found one with a better view. Enjoyed the romance package with excellent food and a great view to go with it. We ended up crabbing and cooking our own dinner one of the nights too! Overall a very quiet and relaxing experience. Make sure to bring mosquito repellent and watch out for the wasps!

We have been living on the coast for 8 years now, and have been at this resultant numerous times. Tonight we went with high expectations because we heard that they employed a Michelin star chef. What a disappointment! The charcuterie platter was a disgrace not to mention the $38 special. The quality and freshness of meats on the platter was concerning. The special had a piece of chicken that was so dry that it was hard to swallow! I brought this to the managers attention and she was hardly receptive to what I was saying. I would not recommend eating at the restaurant. This review only pertains to “foodies”!

I love Rockwater Secret Cove Resort. Four years ago, friends of ours married here. It's a gorgeous location with beautiful views. The paddling at Smuggler Cove is incredible and only a 2k paddle away. This last time we visited, I proposed to my boyfriend, the staff were amazing at keeping the secret and accommodating all of our needs. Best thing about it, he said yes! All in all, excellent weekend, beautiful, fun, romantic. 10/10 would propose here again.

After hearing such great reviews of this resort, I was extremely disappointed in my recent stay. The views and location are perfect but the resort is lacking in quality, up-keep and service. We were able to check in early which was nice. However, for the prices that you pay (similar to a 4 star hotel in Vancouver), I expected more. The cabin I stayed in was in a state of dis-repair (for example, a dog had chewed the corner of the bed-post and there was no effort made to fix it). In general, the resort is run-down — screens falling out of the cabin windows etc. I was there for a wedding and the team did very little to accommodate any requests. The events coordinator, Yvonne, should not be allowed to be in customer service. She dealt with any concern/request very poorly and made a point of being difficult for no apparent reason. The biggest concern I have is that the bride rented out one of the main rooms in the lodge for the bride/bridesmaids to get ready in as none of the rooms/cabins were large enough. We found out close to the end of the day that there were cameras in the room and that they were watching us. This is highly illegal. Not only did we not consent to being filmed but we were all changing into our dresses without knowing we were on camera. I will not be coming back.

Very poor service. Rude staff. Unprofessional. Was not informed of big event taking place, did not get room we had reserved, sent elsewhere to dine due to no communication of function taking place, and then charged us for 3 nights stay when we didn’t even sleep the first night and checked out that morning. For as beautiful as it is, I wouldn’t reccomend the headache that comes along with it.

I stayed in one of the wood cabins, it is very inexpensive, every single one has great ocean view and large balcony, it is not a log cabin like the photo on their website shows, but rather, a stand along wooden cabin with drywall and shower inside, it is surprisingly warm for May, they do provide a portable fan and heater in the room, the best part is car can park next to the cabin whereas the tent cabins are a bit of a walk. The best part of Rockwater resort is the view!

It's rare that you visit a hotel that lives up to the hype but Rockwater definitely does. My wife and I stayed in the tenthouses for 3 nights during our honeymoon trip and I have to say that the location is absolutely stunning. In April, the sun sets right over the water and provides a fantastic view of the Georgia Straight. I was originally concerned with room temperature when booking this trip but I have to say that the resort does a good job with providing enough heat in these houses. We had a few cold nights and the heaters provided more than enough warmth. The location on the cove is ideal also because it provides a natural shelter from most gusty winds.

We spent our 25th Anniversary at the Rockwater Resort. Most delicious dinner, lovely unique accommodation in the Tenthouse, beautiful breakfast! Couldn't have chosen a better place for our very special occasion. Service was superb from the moment we stepped on the premises. We would highly recommend this beautiful venue.

This is a very peaceful, very tranquil place to stay with your loved one, in one of the small nice cabins, very cozy, or in the big house where you can dine and wine to your hearts delight.

A friend recently recommended the resort for a nice dinner. As there are limited places to get a good meal on the coast I was excited at the chance to taken my wife to a nice fine dinning restaurant. We were sat in a very quiet dinning room with spectacular views of the ocean. Unfortunately the service and food did not live up to the high end recommendation I was expecting. The server informed us that they had recently lost their chef and were going through some transitions in their restaurant. Overall 3 stars for the great view.

If your going in the colder months of the year bring extra clothing! Feel there could have been better communication ahead of time informing us of this and the fact that the rooms do not have much heat or hot water. We slept in our clothes and scarves every night and there was never a check in to see if we needed more blankets or anything to help keep warm! Was also pretty disappointed with the restaurant and the spa experience. The food at the restaurant wasn't very good considering the higher rates your paying to stay at a resort of this caliber. The spa experience was also disappointing as both the pool and hot tub were closed. Would think during the cooler months the hot tub would be a really nice treat for guests. If your going to charge your guests $200 for a facial it should come with some amenities to make the experience worth the cost. We paid a couple thousand bucks for our 3 day experience and even though there was much room for improvement the tents themselves and the view the room provided made it all worth our stay.

While the location itself is gorgeous, the resort and the service itself leave much to be desired, especially considering the price. We booked one of their tents (the glamour bit with heated floor and fireplace) for the weekend. Since it is a January, the first thing we asked before booking if they are warm (keep on mind, this is mid-january, so outside temperatures go to below 5°C) as they are tents after all. We were assured that they get quite warm and cozy. We also requested a quieter and private location. Upon check in we received the first cabin on the path. It is located literally no further than couple of metres from the path and everyone walking by can clearly see inside (unless you have all the windows covered which, when one of the main reasons you are there is the view, rather defeats the purpose). This was incredibly frustrating as this was precisely the reason why we called ahead of time and were assured that the tent was in a private location. After switching to one in a more quiet area (with an increased price of $429 + tax) we discovered that the floor heating was not working at all and the internal temperature maxed at 16°C so we had to move yet again to another accommodation. This has been mentioned as an issue in several reviews as the maintenance had deteriorated since the ownership change. We finally settled in for the night, with 2 space heaters, floor heating and gas fireplace going.

Lovely location, clean cabin and courteous staff made for a great stay. Leather ottoman in cabin is fraying and makes the room feel a little rough around the edges. Dinner, cocktails and desert at the locally-sourced, sustainable restaurant was great. Noise from the private function area (adjacent) dulled an otherwise spectacular ambience and view, but staff were considerate and apologetic about the noise. Overall a nice getaway!

The food is amazing, very well prepared, each and every single one of them. The service is exquisite, overall a great group experience. Would highly recommend heading out towards the resort if you are in this area and looking for some fine dining experience. Just make sure you do have GPS when getting here at night, there are a few slip roads that could take you down the beaten path and away from the destination.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at Rock water resort. When my wife and I checked in to the resort we were excited for our coming weekend, we enter the room and it was freezing cold the fireplace was not operating and we didn't have hot water, The sheets in the bed were dirty from dust who fell from the ceiling fan. We called the reception and ask for someone to come, we spend one hour form our of pricey time (506$a night) to wait until it will be fixed, after one hour we asked to move to a different room and surprisingly the second room was the same poor maintenance condition, so we wait another one hour until the maintenance guy show up and fixed the first room so we moved back after two hours delay everything was working but the room was still freezing cold and it took A couple of hours to get a dissent temperature in the room. On The Second day we start to smell propane gas leak, I let the reception know but for us it was too late we had a bad weekend and the unfortunate part it cost us hundreds of dollars a way more than what their deserve. The hotel manager told us they will consider to rectified the poorly experience we had. We are still waiting. In the bottom line we are not recommend this place really poorly maintenance in the resort, Bad customer service the restaurant not so good has been told and they charge 18% for the food service, and you got no other choices in 30 minutes drive.

We stayed in the luxury tent for two nights and it was relaxing despite the rain. Amenities was plentiful, bed was comfy, tub was awesome. I would not recommend the restaurant however as the food was below average for breakfast. Service was friendly and welcoming.

We had breakfast today and it was great, We were the first table and the server was very friendly. We are staying at a great air bnb almost right next door. We decided to go for dinner and had a reso for 6pm. When we arrived we were the 3rd table and got sat right beside the fireplace. The ambiance is nice and they had live entertainment which seemed very relaxing. The soup came and we enjoyed it, the flavour was great. Once the main came ($34 For steak) I was excited for cut of beef but I was sadly let down on the first bite. The texture and flavour was a complete let down. The server was not very knowledgeable on the menu stating she was away for awhile. I had 2 pieces of the beef and informed the server of my displeasure and left 80% of my steak on the plate. The server did nothing to make it right and it was a complete let down, we will never return. A small gesture like offering to take care of our drink or offer a desert would have made us feel like they care… but they failed us and their brand name.

What a wondefful place! We stayed here two nights and booked an elopement package through Yvonne; who was so so so helpful and thoughtful. She made the experience so memorable and wonderful. The tent house was amazing, the food was wonderful and our cake was to die for. The view and location could not have been better.
We will definitely be back again and again.

Avoid! Terribly Managed Resort My husband and I were celebrating our 16th Anniversary and wanted to stay local since we were booking last minute. Our stay was anything but peaceful, relaxing or romantic. We booked within a week and a half of our stay, picking an Oceanview Yurt @ ~$600/night checking in Friday night and checking out Sunday. … We only found out after we got there that they actually had a wedding booked that weekend on Saturday and that their restaurant would be closed. Because the resort is situated in a cove, most of the yurts face inwards towards where the wedding party was being held and since the yurts have walls made of canvas, there was no escaping the loud music that was blasting all night. We could also hear every word that was spoken over the loudspeakers. Despite the music and party winding down shortly after 11pm, the noise from the wedding guests dispersing through the resort afterwards meant there was no peace and quiet until about 1am! I’m not blaming the wedding party since they rightfully booked the resort. We were told that normally the resort requires a buyout for any event for obvious reasons but for some reason not this one; the wedding was booked over a year in advance so there was no reason the resort couldn’t have given warning or avoided booking other guests at the same time. There were other couples complaining the morning after.

We were lucky enough to have had our wedding at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort on August 19th. It was absolutely AMAZING. The whole process from start to finish was great. We were in constant communication with the resort, and they were able to accommodate all of our requests. We even took a chance on the menu without having tried any of the food. The food was delicious! The hotel worked with us on a custom Buffet menu that fit our preferences and it did not disappoint! The food was a huge hit at our wedding. The scenery, the staff and the whole process was fantastic. It is such a hidden gem and we are so lucky to have had our wedding here! We can't wait to go back!

If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. Despite how they advertise this as a luxury resort, it's more of a rustic retreat, in a beautiful setting. Rooms were standard and not very clean. Restaurant food was fine, but overpriced for what you got. We felt that their marketing is meant to justify the nightly room rate, but it doesn't live up to the expectation they set. We have experienced luxury in our travels, and don't mind paying for it. In this case, we didn't feel we got what we paid for.

Really nice place, 100% worth while coming just for the seclusion and ocean views. Just beautiful. I've stayed here many times and the only thing preventing this place from 5 stars is the amenities and service. I've noticed it is getting better but still needs work. Would I recommend people come here? Yes!

This wasn't the room we expected when we booked. Great clean room yes, but wasn't the cabin/yurt off of water. When we booked the hotel rooms weren't even an option on the website. The room was nice and renovated in the hotel, but we really thought we were getting the cabin off the water front with Patio and spectacular view. Disappointed in website and booking. Be careful!

My wife and I stayed for two nights in one of tent houses. It's pretty secluded and private. The service was good. The breakfast was delicious. If it's a sunny day then you can enjoy the sunset. Next time I would try to stay in 52 or 58 tent house for a better view of the sea. Also don't forget to read their instructions manual/booklet provided in your room. It gives info about the nearby places you can visit. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Beautiful property! We stayed in one of the tenthouses which was nice and breezy during the day, and wonderfully cozy at night. We also booked a couples massage which was great, though they had mentioned that the outdoor tent for massages was currently being set up. In the future, I would request for the outdoor tent.

This is a pretty great resort, the staff are fantastic and friendly. I stayed in one of the small cabins and with the sound of the surf right outside my window, I slept like a baby in a super comfortable king size bed. The pool is heated and big enough to dive and swim laps, this is greatly appreciated compared to many resorts that just have useless but pretty wading play pools. My breakfast looked great but was only so-so. I don't get why the waffles weren't fresh and hot, I was the only one there. Instead they were cool and seemed stale. If they were indeed made fresh, I'm amazed at how well they managed to make them taste and feel stale. Kudos to the cook. On the other hand the coffee was awesome and the server was amazing! The bathroom is tiny, and it's a small cabin overall so I get that, but the showerhead was at chest level for me and I could barely move my arms around without hitting things. I'm not a giant, just 6'4". Sitting in the toilet made me feel like I was in a half scale model home. I was told the tent cabins are bigger, but I didn't have time to see them so I can't guess it's that size increase includes the bathrooms. Being a short 20 minutes from Sechelt, I would stay here again. You should, too, it's a great place on a beautiful property run by really nice people!

Stayed in a oceanfront luxury tent (58) and absolutely loved it! Sunset was amazing, the giant 2 person tub was great, bed was very comfortable. Tent gets a little loud in the wind but it just adds to the experience. Heated tile floors are a nice touch. Overall amazing experience that I will recommend to anyone.

Disappointing considering the price. Place had a very old feel about it, the staff were great though and the restaurant very nice. They are renovating so an effort is being made, only real comment is that it is overpriced compared to other places nearby.

We stayed one night in a deluxe cabin and another in the tent suite. Definitely do the tent suite. Fantastic views, great bath tub. Food was good, service was alright. Got a little windy and loud in the tent during the night but I'd love to home back again!

Unless you are willing to pay over $300 a night for the Tent Houses (that look really nice), I would save your money on the other accommodation options. We stayed in a cabin for a $190 for the night, and quite honestly we would have been better off camping. We have traveled to various parts of the world and have found more comfort for a lot less. It seems like the luxury has been put into everything on the other side of the gate. If it was not for the friendly restaurant staff, grounds crew and nice location it would have been a total loss. To pay that amount of money to stay in a cabin furnished with the cheapest ikea furniture and the hardest bed we have ever slept on, plus needing to hang blankets to cover windows, it leaves you feeling a bit ripped off.

We had lunch at the restaurant. Great view. But the caeser wrap (too sharp with the anchovie dressing) and beef dip (bland) weren't great. Was hoping for a more exciting menu.

My wife and I got married here in the summer of 2015. 1. Her parents' reservation was mysteriously cancelled when we arrived for check-in. 2. Our guests were supposed to receive a 15% discount on their stay if they stayed for three nights. On check-out they all had to explicitly correct their bill because the hotel didn't honor the discount without being corrected by each of our guests. 3. The resort moved several of my family to lesser accommodations (booked a two bedroom — but were moved to a one bedroom) to accommodate their mistakes. 4. Midway through our (the bride and groom) stay — we were told we had to move to a different tent. So we packed up our things and move to a different tent the day before the wedding. 5. We booked appetizers for everyone the day before the wedding. When they didn't arrive — we had to order them and they arrived about two hours late. After providing this feedback to the resort — there was no acknowledgement of these issues or even a phone-call or email to apologize.

Over priced food was not good.

Excellent experience at this romantic resort. I only wished I had booked a tenthouse as the sun shone on them for an hour longer. Our cabin was clean and full of everything we needed including a bucket of ice on our arrival. The little things that the staff did made this a great holiday for me. I highly recommend Rockwater.

We went there once for an anniversary dinner and found the food mediocre at best. Thank goodness for the view. We wouldn't have gone back, but they were the only game in town with a New Years Eve event. We purchased a room and dinner package for the evening. When we arrived there was no one to greet us and we had to wait for quite a while. When the woman arrived she was not friendly and didn't say much at all. She walked into the dining area and we weren't sure if we were supposed to follow, but eventually did to which she turned around and told us to wait in not the most polite way. The waitress was lovely, thankfully, and was the same one we had on our anniversary and remembered us. The scallops were particularly sandy and not enjoyable. When we got to our cabin it was freezing! Thankfully my husband looked at where the baseboard heater was located before turning on the heat, as the couch was pressed up against it. The room itself was somewhat dirty with many cobwebs in the corners and inside the lamps. The bathroom was freezing and had no source of heat. It also didn't have a fan, which we thought was rather strange. There were large cracks around the front door, which seemed to be the most obvious source for the loss of heat. The bedding looked inviting, but we didn't feel it was the most hygienic choice.

Location is beautiful! Staff were genuine and super accommodating. Food was very good. No need to venture out. Stay and enjoy. Only disappointment. We couldn't stay longer.

View — 10, food — 9.8, service — very good and a 9.6. The food was extremely tasty, well prepared and exquisitely presented. Watch the sunset with a lovely dinner and you'll be back again and again. You pay extra for the view but the food and the view are well worth it.

We stayed 3 nights during our honeymoon in the kittyhawk tenthouse suite March 23-26th 2010 and it was incredible! We decided to travel here on the advice of some friends who went on a whim in September and fell in love with Rock Water. They raved about it so we thought it would be the perfect getaway for our honeymoon and it was. The environment is just really amazing and peaceful. Imagine, you are in the woods, you are beside the ocean, you have nature surrounding you, and you are in a "tent" but you have heated floors, rainforest shower, the best jacuzzi tub I've ever been in, comfortable bed, room service, a deck to enjoy the view from. For us, this was the perfect place to come as you can do nothing or you can be very active. For me, the ocean and the woodsmake me feel at peace, very relaxed and at ease yet are invigorating at the same time. After the crazy chaos of a wedding, this was really what we needed. My husband wasn't sure that he was going to enjoy this as he thought it would be boring but he extremely enjoyed the time to rest and relax, take it easy and enjoy each other's company. If you are worried about privacy, I wouldn't worry too much. Now granted, the suites are covered in a very thick canvas but there is some noise, so just be a little mindful but I wouldn't let that keep you from going. The tenthouse suites are pretty well spread out except for 59 and 60 which are pretty much next door to one another. Those two may not be ideal for a "honeymoon".
