Vancouver Backpacker House Hotel

The manager is so Rude with people. They don't let you pay with credit or debit is so expensive and is doesn't worth it. They don't let you stay not even a minute after your check in. And if you want to stay another day they told you cant because they have other reservations so your stay is not sure. I definitely don't recommend this place. I made a lot of friends that was the only good thing.

Henry the the housekeeper was perfect guy. He was a really nice person. Always helping me with my doubts and concerned about what do I need. For other instance the place was neat but no as comfortable for one stayover. Quiet expensive for my point of view. But the attention they bring was really good.

Stayed for one night at the dorm. Reasonable for the price. Self Check-in option works well, that process is organized. The rooms, halls and closets are disorganized, and not very clean. Mattresses and bedsheets packed everywhere. Wet laundry was sitting on top of the dryer etc. Could be made better.

This was a good stay the people staying at the hostel are very kind and I had great conversations about amazing travel stories everything was nice and clean.

Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I called to inquire about available rooms and rates. She immediately said because I am calling from a Vancouver phone number they will deny me a room. I indicated I and my identification (drivers licence) are from out of province. She then just hung up on me. For one its a house and people like this should not be in any customer service position or accomodation business. I'm assuming they are trying to live for free and profit off travelers. Disgraceful business and may not even be legitimate.

Love this place. Been here 2 times already and might come back again soon. Thanks for everything.

It's ok it is close to the SkyTrain. Someone puked in the sink so that was gross. The beds aren't super comfortable but location is alright.

Convenient location, 6 minute walk to the SkyTrain station and shopping mall. Clean, beds weren't very comfortable but not the worst.

The feel in the house was very friendly. The house was clean and bright, the room smelled good and the service was good too.

Bring your own toilet paper, it's not provided. The faucet in the bathroom is broken, there's no reception or staff on site. The best thing about this place was the other guests.

As many of the people mention that It's not a backpackers but rent house. There is no reception no free snacks only for rooms and toilet and so on. But If you have less money you'd better choise this one.

This hostel is definitely not recommended, we had a very bad experiences with it. The big problem is that the hostel is run by an external company. Whichone? they cant tell you. They dont know the name or a phone number, only a mailaddress. Unfortunately any queries are handled by this unknown company. And of course if you have an urgent case, like you try to cancel a room, which doesnt work AT ALL that's why you want to use at least the room they make you pay for, this company is slow enough in replying so by the time they react you can be sure the room is gone and you are the unhappy customer who can pay for nothing. We as customer felt really bad treated, the reaction of the company afterwards in a 2liner was just utter mockery! We would definitely recommend to make business with other, more honest and definitely friendlier places.

Okay the hostel is ok, clean, comfy, nice, but in this time (october 2011) there is an australian permanent guest totally stupid who gets drunk and so disturbs people with his not nice manners and disordered faces. Avoid for a while the hostel until the owner has time to realize what a bad image is given to all the hostel by such loser. Apart from that. Great place to stay.
