My sister and I just enjoyed a magical 2 night stay here for Barkerville's opening week since Covid-19 pandemic. We had two quaint, but very cozy rooms (one with an ensuite, one with a hallway washroom) and enjoyed our half of the parlor. We were very impressed with the host and his historical knowledge and role-playing. The St. George Hotel did a great job maintaining social distancing and guest safety during these pandemic times, we would definitely stay again and would recommend that anyone who has been considering this hotel to book it. A real perk is that you get to explore Barkerville before and after hours when the crowds are gone, so you can really take your time and see all the trails and sights.

This is our second time here and both times has been amazing. Both times we've had to check in after hours, first we were greeted by a very cheerful Mr Boyce, this time we had a wonderfully detailed note from Ms Powell. The atmosphere and experience of being wrapped in the times of the original Barkerville years is absolutely amazing. If you're looking to stay in the town, give this hotel a chance, you'll be hooked!
