Very old, needs updating, rooms look like they have not changed for decades, bathroom very small and dated, check in desk area dirty, hotel run down. You feel like you walked in to an old museum. Sure, the place looks great from the outside and the view is incredible from ouside but the inside leaves a lot to be desired. For half the price I would say go for it, but for the price it is lacking. The people working there were great but the inside of the lodge is old and run down. I couldn’t wait to leave.

You pay for the location here and that's about it. The hotel itself is a bit scruffy, run down and in my opinion needs a substantial revamp. The restaurant is ridiculously expensive due to having a captive customer base. Personally I would give up the reasonably decent view for a nicer, fresher place.

I slept, had dinner and had breakfast at this amazing place. The extraordinary location of the structure compensates for any possible defect (zero phone coverage and very thin walls). Once understood how to turn on the heating the room turned out to be comfortable. The restaurant on the ground floor I loved it.

Lived and worked there for 3 months in 2011. Stayed there in 2015. Absolutely stunning. Top 10 best places I've ever been!

We didn't stay at the lodge we went for the lake and the hike to Bow Falls which I highly recommend if you are in the area. The lodge was nice and seemed quiet. Had a restaurant and gift shop and it's right on the lake.

The Num-TI-Jah lodge is located right next to a lake, and there is a beautiful view of the nearby snowy rockies. Although old, the place is very comfortable, and there are free amenities such as coffee, hot water, and breakfast for guests. The room we stayed in was comfortable, and it had a great view of the mountains and lake.

Great stop on a tour of the Icefields Parkway. Go inside for a bit of history, a cafe, and a gift shop. Follow the trail from the parking lot for a great photo on the shore of Bow Lake.

“Not very pleasant” Being close to the lake was the best part. My experience was not very pleasant. I felt it was way overpriced, it lacked some basic amenities. To start, we reserve a lake view room but instead it had a shed like view, which they agree to change our room the next day, but the idea of picking up our stuff again and moving again didn't seem enjoyable. We arrived there about 10pm, no lighting from the parking to the entrance, which was about 15-20 meters. We use our car headlights to help us see. Our room was on the 3rd floor, no elevator, no one to help you with your luggage. The room size was reasonable. The bathroom floor was weat from the shower leaking. The unreachable electrical outlet in the room would only work if the light of the bathroom was on. The shower head would not stay in place, we had to place a face towel to hold it up. The shower leaked so much we had to put towels on the floor. We had reserved the room for 2 nights, but we were able to cancel the 2nd day without being charged. The staff was very helpful otherwise, and let us parked for a few extra hours to explore around the lake.

Woke up to this. Lovely staff, good food and trails, not a Fairmont hotel, but an amazing atmosphere that's worth a visit.

What a great find! Built in the 1920s to last, this place has loads of character. And the views from the rooms are spectacular. The one restaurant has a limited selection but all food was excellent.

It's a beautiful experience to get disconnected from our technologic world. The rooms are perfect for two, despite the bathroom is a little bit small. The dinner is delicious make sure to ask for your reservation at reception when you check in. The beautiful views complete the experience.

How can you not stay in such a beautiful historical lodge?! Right next to Bow Lake, you can walk to the shore. Amazing wildlife viewing, two grizzlies to photograph in the meadow. Staff was fantastic, food exceptional, especially breakfast. I made a comment on the wonderful granola and the chef came out with a printed copy of the recipe.

Stopped by to eat after a long day exploring the park, unfortunately the dining room was closed and doesn't open until 6:30pm. On the plus side, beautiful views all around. Con: public toilet is quite far from the lodge.

The lodge is set in an amazingly beautiful surroundings and dinner was so delicious! I had the venison, my husband had the salmon and we shared the chocolate chip cookie sundae that came in a hot pan — all so scrumptious! We stayed the night on 9 June 2017, and we woke up to the unexpected snowfall the next morning that made the surrounding look like a winter wonderland! It was wonderful to get to experience 2 seasons, and hence, 2 different and gorgeous sceneries in 2 days! It would be an added bonus to our experience to have had a coffee maker in the guestroom though.

There is no elevator, but to build in the scenic area of the standard, has been enough, the hotel out is the lake, very suitable for the people willing to quietly appreciate the natural crowd.

Perfect solitude and romantic getaway! The only thing I would suggest is that there be coffee available to early risers, or coffee machine in the rooms since the staff, as well as coffee is not available until 8 am.

Magnificent hike to the Bow Glacier falls.
Start is the num-ti-Jah Lodge — right by the lake — and then over a hill into a sea of stones. At the other end you can see the Bow Glacier falls.

Beautiful mountain scenery. Lodge is rustic and comfortable, food was good. My last visit there was 20 years back but since finding it on the net will plan a return visit. This is where Burl Ives used to visit according to lodge lore. You won't find a more beautiful place.

Great jumping off point to Bow Summit and points beyond. Never used the cabins but to go down and hang out and chat with the pretty girls that worked there for summer jobs.

A highlight when adventuring in the mountains. Great food, excellent service.

Nice Place, great scenery. You go for the view, not the hotel. a little maintenance could go a long way in making this Lodge more enjoyable. Beds are good, food is very expensive and very average. I would give the lodge a 4/10. The location a 10/10.

SO just returned to Calgary after spending 2 nights in the Rocky Mountains and are more than impressed with the nature and all that comes with it. When we arrived to the Num-Ti-Jah lodge we found that the LOCATION was more than awesome. Speaking about being in nature heaven… The lodge is a typical wood lodge with noise floors and stairs but all credit to the staff. Very polite and helpful. The rooms very not like Hilton, but it really doesn't matter. The bed was good and the view… words can't describe it. The Food in the restaurant was from the sallad, through the soup and meat to the cheesecake… really good. This place is worth visiting BUT remember you are OFFLINE — no cell phone and internet… so being an always ON-LINE person I found it very difficult not to be able to check what I was used to, but hey that is what Num-Ti-Jah is all about — being OFFLINE and just relaxing in beautiful surroundings.
