Kichu Resort Paro

Very well conceived hotel, located near the river. If bathrooms were better maintained (shower water drainage too slow, overflowed), it would be a great hotel.

Excellent infrastructure, aesthetic design of architecture and the layout of the rooms.
The food is also excellent and served so well with love and care it touched our heart.
There are so many flowers in the campus. It self with the river flowing by the side adds to the natural Splendor.

Beware of this property specially if booking online!
We booked this hotel for one night, from april 10th to april 11th 2025, which happened to be the last day of our bhutan trip. The online pics looks great and we thought we would treat ourselves. We made the reservation using hotels. Com and pre-paid online. When we showed up to check in around 4:30pm, the front desk person said that he did not have our names on the check in list. We were shocked and asked him to recheck. Even showed him the confirmation email from hotels. Com as well as through the app. He called the manager, who gave us sketchy vibes. The manager said the following in the sequence below :1. First he said that they had no reservation from us. 2. Then he said, they always have this problem with hotels. Com. 3. Next he said, their policy is full pre-payment and they had received our reservation from hotels. Com and had reached out to them for the payment. However they had not heard back from hotels. Com and therefore could not honor the reservation and therefore gave up our room to someone else. What?!?! So as he was making up these stories, we figured out that they had acted in an unethical manner and given up our room to someone else so that they could get money immediately. We rushed to find another hotel for the night, which was tough since the paro festival was going on. The kind folks at Nirvana inn helped out and we had a place to stay for the night.

One of the Best resort in paro where you can enjoy the sound of nature and beautiful river flow.

This place will be my permanent quarantine choice from now. It didn't feel like a quarantine at all more like a long and peaceful vacation where I had time to reflect about life. I highly recommend this place to everyone searching for a peaceful retreat and a safe haven during these hard times. As the resorts name is "the happy place" it is certainly and inarguably that.

WoW,, no question about being herein KICHU RESORT. The size of areas,,,, the Complex,, Cottages away from one another… Have own beautiful out-door bar, Out-door coffee shop and Pizzas hut separate,, with beautiful compound,,, surrounded by Apple's Tree and Flower…
LOcated alone a beautiful river,, where the canopy at every distant of choice to sit and enjoy the view of mountains, river and ponds nearby,, wow,,, so many,,,

Beautiful Resort by the Paro River.

Only best point of this resort is location, which covers all its negatives. River is flowing near the resort, with amazing views of sunrise on mountain peaks. Large and beautiful gardens with load of fruits for morning and evening walks. In night, you can enjoy Bonn-fire.
We stayed at cottage no. 58, having no Wi-Fi, however staff tried its level best. Food served in the restaurant is not hot, may be their kitchen is far off. Food lacks in variety as well as taste. Below average food quality.

One of the best places have stayed at Bhutan. Rooms are spotlessly clean, Resort is wonderful, and the food is awesome. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is great and there are Indian options besides local cuisine. I preferred the local cuisine. 5 stars from me.

One of the worst hotel stay.
The water heater and tap heater for hot water come in very slowly. The hotel didn’t provide us body wash. Towel are mostly stained with yellowish mark. No hair dryer. The staffs are very unprofessional and not polite. We request for a change of room or checking if there is any others options they are not very happy with our request. Instead.
They questioning us back that why we can’t use the same or just try to accommodate it. Furniture in the room is old. Some edges of the floors are broken. The showering flooring was too cold to use for showering without any shoes and black stains can be found on the flooring. We are hardly to get any rest due to the thin walls we can hear the neighbours in their own room talking and playing music even when they open and close the doors it can be heard very clearly. Not recommended at all.

A beautiful reputed property located by the Paro River filled with gardens, ponds, and pine trees. A perfect place for retreats and holidays.

Although, the location and surrounding is amazing. The rooms are quiet small, dusty and stuffy. The bed and duvet sheets were all stained. The toilet looked unmaintained with dust and cobwebs in every corner.

It's a beautiful resort by the side of the river. The rooms are great and some rooms are river side so it's a good experience. The only problem was that the rooms are a little bit overpriced. The prices aren't that budget friendly but otherwise it's a great place. The staff is very friendly and the GM is always there to help. The food is decent too.

If you're an Indian travelling to Bhutan and staying here, don't order Indian food. You'll be disappointed by the taste.
For everyone else, the resort was really good. During our stay there was snowfall. It looked really beautiful all covered in snow early in the morning. The rooms were well equipped with bed warmers etc so you want have any issues with the stay.
The lighting in the room could have been better. It was a little dark I feel.
