Mariposa was such a peaceful, serene ocean-front spot with incredible staff. Can't recommend Donny, Miguel & all enough! A must visit.

Lewis Blanchard and his staff did an amazing job during our stay at Mariposa Beach Resort! The accommodations and food far exceeded my expecatations. I highly recommend staying with Lewis and the team during your next visit to Belize.

We had an amazing time here and wished we would have stayed longer! Super clean, friendly staff, great location (far enough from Placencia for peace and quiet, but close enough for easy access) Complimentary bikes!

We had a birthday celebration with great friends and the staff was simply amazing. They helped us with setting up decorations and they got the entire dining room to sing Happy Birthday to all Great environment and fantastic food.

The staff is very friendly. The owner is such a wonderfull person. The food and drinks are excellent. Everything is just amazing. 👍

This place was incredible. The staff went above and beyond at every opportunity. They made sure we were comfortable and tailored the service to us. The rooms were really nice. Internet was great. The resort looked very well kept and it was beautiful. Can’t say enough good things about the place and the people.

We stayed at Mariposa for two weekends. It was heaven. The staff and owner were wonderful and so helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay great, and offered extra help when our activities were cancelled because of weather. The resort is beautiful and we can’t wait to stay here again!

It is a great relaxing spot where you get to enjoy great caribbean experience right of your balcony. Also if you want to have the nice beautiful wild life experience then the tree houses is where you want to stay and hear all birds sing in the early mornings and evenings. The food is excellent at great prices and cocktails very delicious refreshing at same time. So what you waithing for book a caribbean experience like no other…

This place has great food nice people and great scenery. If you love tropical plants as I do this is a wondeful setting. It has a relaxed atmosphere yet an resort feel. One of my favorite spots in Placencia you can literally lose a day just swiming relaxing and feeling the Belize vibe. I highly recommend lunch or dinerr here. A great place to stay clean and comfortable.

It was the greatest time I have ever had and the food was amazing and the owners and staff are awesome They all treated us like family. And when we were interested in looking at things to do they helped us out. They explained things to you if you want to know cause everything is Belize time they do not hurry for anything. So you just relax and have fun. We snorkeled right in the back of the hotel they have everything you need just ask. I recommend this place for you and someone special or the whole family. Love it we will be back to swim with the whale sharks.

Breezeway had the most wonderful Chicken Cordon Bleu with roasted vegetables the other night. Exemplary service too! If you get a chance I would recommend it.

Wonderful place to visit with your entire family, great food prepare at kitchen and perfect mix drinks at the bar. I personally recommend all the food but most of all I enjoyed eating the chicken quesadilla n shrimp burger WOW! was the bomb.

Mariposa Beach is a piece of paradise on earth! Thumbs up very quiet very peaceful place. Not to mention their food is to die for. This place is very family oriented. There service is 10/10. I highly recommend this place. The staff and owners are very welcoming hats off to the owners and staff.

Sharon & Bruce have created a beautiful relaxing atmosphere with many amenities & fun filled events. I am an expat, from Canada, who has enjoyed many visits to Mariposa over the years. Their consistency & dedication is unsurpassed. 2020 has been a difficult year, for many businesses, preventing their ability to provide refunds. Visitors need to be understanding and accept a postponement offer. Airlines, Cruises, Hotels etc. Worldwide, can only provide postponement as a means of dealing with the Covid-19 crisis and reassuring their clientele. Afterall, postponement is a better option than bankruptcy… when everyone loses!

Amazing service and delicious food!

This is absolutely an epic place to be! We love the owners Sharon and Bruce, they are hands on and make sure your stay in enjoyable from start to finish. To say they go the extra mile is an understatement. The rest of the Mariposa team is super attentive, the whole place is extremely clean and well maintained, fantastic food selection, peaceful, and the views are stunning! We will be back again… for our 3rd trip, and will be here for SURE!

Great food with beautiful pool and view of the Caribbean. You don’t have to necessarily stay there but a minimum $15.00 bz drink order or fee for use of the facilities. A great value!

My first time eating at Mariposa. I was impressed. The food was great, atmosphere was wonderful, service was EXCELLENT. I had appetizers which came right away, and chicken parm as my entree. So nice. Was there w my pup and they went above and beyond what I requested for him. I was so pleased and will be going back again for sure.

Beautiful location, beautiful hotel. We actually were staying at another hotel in Placencia and we toured quite a few our 1st day. We decided to check out of our original hotel because this one had everything we wanted and is gorgeous!

Tranquil environment and amazing food!

Great place to go relax and have lunch! Chef always creates some great lunch special and owners are awesome! Beautiful beach and pool is clean and cool! Dinner specials are very delicious as well! Best view In town!

Large terrace, great view, unique room, helpful concierge made sure I had everything I need. Slept with all the doors open even though there are no screens, doesn’t seem to matter, it’s windy and there are no mosquitoes. Fell asleep to the sound of the ocean in complete comfort.

This is a wonderful place to go to. Secluded, personal, awesome ocean front dining. Waiter was very knowledgeable and willing to share local insights. Bruce and wife Sharon are the owners, super personable hosts. The food was a great experience of international flavors and some favorites. The shrimp creole could make some people in Louisiana a little nervous with a slight Curry taste made it different with a pop. Next time we are down we are staying there as well in a tree house. Good times.

Amazing location! The grounds are very clean, well maintained! The view is gorgeous! And there is a lot of options to enjoy your stay, by the beach, by the pool, on a stretcher under a coconut tree, or under nice secluded palapa feet from the sore line. The staff is amazing! And the restaurant is really good! I strongly recommend their blackened Fish burger! A bit spicy but a perfect dish with a nice cold drink while soaking in some of this paradise! The owners are extremely knowledgeable of the place and seem to know a lot of the locals and expats and can point you on the right direction regardless of what you want to do, dive, snorkel, eat, explore Belize! Enjoy your stay! We definitely enjoyed ours!

We stayed a couple nights and had a great time at Mariposa. Nice beachfront, pool, bar, and restaurant. Neatly managed by Sharon and Bruce, the place is modern, clean, the staff is motivated and the service is spot on. The restaurant serves excellent food at reasonable prices. Placencia town is not far, and with the bicycles provided at the property it takes only 5 minutes. This is a place we would like to return one day.

Lovely place, very welcoming owners. Beach is so so when it comes to swimming (recommend going further south or to town beach) but pool is great, staff super friendly, and food good (a little expensive).

Hotel and staff are amazing! Right on the beach and an easy bike ride to the village. Bruce and Sharon and staff are friendly and can help you out.

This resort was across the street from my BNB. It's open to the public for no extra fee. Beautiful grounds. The beach is lovely with a freshwater pool and outdoor restaurant and bar. There is service on the beach. Staff is so wonderful and accommodating. We went back for dinner upstairs and the food was fantastic. Dining room overlooks the ocean. Reasonable price. The accommodations we saw were tree house suites. We would come back and stay here!

A "Five Star" rating isn't nearly high enough for the Mariposa! My husband and I recently returned from a week-plus stay at the Mariposa where we were able to completely disconnect from the hectic world that is our "normal. " Imagine a large suite with a comfy king sized bed, fresh ground coffee, a cozy kitchenette, large tiled shower, and double French doors that open onto a covered patio steps from the pool — a quiet, secluded beach — and the sea! Stunningly beautiful vi…ew in every direction. We didn't have to fight for chairs, or stand in line to make dinner reservations. Taxi service was readily available when we wanted to walk in town, do some boardwalk shopping, or just explore the quaint village of Placencia. A Golf Cart or bicycles are available to rent as well. Or, if you are like my husband, just head down the beach! We enjoyed delicious meals upstairs with wonderful, personal, service. From morning pancakes to evening Creole Snapper, Penne Chicken Alfredo, to melt in your mouth surf n turf, to homemade Key Lime Pie — every dish was perfect. This was, without a doubt, a perfect get away — and I can't wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful, peaceful, get away.

A long drive to get here down the peninsula. A Canadian couple have owned this place for 5 years. They just built the "treehouse" cabins just over a year ago. The cabins are nice maybe 400 sq ft. One large room with a bathroom, limited furniture, no TV or other electronics, no Wi-Fi. A minute walk to the main building which houses the restaurant upstairs along with a make shift office. Small pool leads to the beach. Overall it is a nice place. Food was generally good. But the owners are far from warm. They were generally friendly but they really seem to lack the skills and knowledge to run a lodge. Everything is way over priced. We would mostly likely stay someplace else due to price. It's not like they offered anything special. You rent the gold cart to drive 1 mile into town. We started walking and although it was hot, we felt better and healthier.

I have such an amazing time when I go to Mariposa. The food is great and the staff is awesome. Also the owners Sharon and Bruce are the nicest people in the world. If you are in the Placencia area you have to check this place out!

We lucked up on Mariposa after we drive from Belize City. We was visiting Belize for the week and we was not impressed while touring on our own. We drove out to Placincia in hoping to find a great beach. But we found so much more. Mariposa is so welcoming and cozy. Bruce and Sharon the owners was so accommodating and their little piece of paradise is just that. From the staff, to the resturant, the grounds and the accommodations was so amazing. We recommend this spot to anyone who wants a piece of paradise. It is well worth the trip. We will defiantly be back… Bert and Stacy Ferro…

The owners, Bruce and Sharron, are truly wonderful people. The room, grounds, and staff are very well maintained. The entire property is a treasure. The Mariposa is a short ride from the center of town. It is close enough to the action to be convenient, and just far enough away to enjoy quiet nights with an amazing star filled sky.

Really lovely spot by the beach, friendly staff and owners and great food and cocktails. We only had one night there but could have happily stayed longer.
