5☆ Hotel. Nice breakfast in the morning, rooms where very comfortable, staff was amazing from the Front Desk to Dinner crew and Housekeeping staff. I enjoyed my stay I was here for 10 days.

No way I would recommend! Too expensive. Hidden tax and crazy parking charge of 16%!

Pretty pricey parking (16€ per night) even though located next to the highway in a commercial zone. Chose the option of a room with two single beds when booking which we didn‘t get at first and were told we actually weren‘t entitled to by the receptionist. Only when we showed them the dirty toilet in our bathroom was when they changed their mind. Alternative room was clean and spacey, breakfast was reasonable.

It was our first time in the city and Luc did am amazing job of giving us things to see and do and how to get around. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. He made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in the door.

A 9 euro taxi ride from the station. Not many buses available. Food reasonable.

A nice Holiday Inn right next to the highway and Gent. Cheap and clean to stay at, the breakfast buffet was neat. The internet worked really well. Stayed 6 nights whilest touring Gent and it worked really well. The staff was really sweet. Overall, as always, a nice holiday inn experience.

Hotel is fine, but not wonderful. It's a long way out from the centre but there is reasonable public transport which only takes 20mins to the train station/centre — just don't get caught out at the weekend when the services decrease considerably. Its probably very handy if you're driving, but the parking charges are steep. I strongly recommend going to the neighbouring hotel's restaurant (Campanile) — much cheaper than the one attached to the Holiday Express, very friendly and has more character. You do only have a choice of two restaurants here, unless you want to trek into the centre. Beautiful twin room with sofa (excuse my messy bed in the photo! ). No air con which was a nightmare in the Summer heatwave. Our room was very noisy at night as it was right next to ventilation pipes — ask to move if you notice you're by these! Breakfast not as good as other Holiday Express' but still fine. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Comfortable spacious rooms, very clean. Good breakfast! There's a very big car park, more suitable for travelers with cars. However you can find Lijn Bus 65 stops near the hotel, very convenient to the city!

Convenient hotel with spacious rooms, only problem is the breakfast which is the minimum union. Mind you, there's almost everything: butter, jam, yogurt, some charcuterie, fruit salad,. Plus the classic hot drink machine. Missing hot chocolate (the chocolate milk they gave me is definitely not the same thing) and espresso (or rather there is as well as "coffee" but in both cases there comes out a drink that fills your teacup)

Nice, comfortable hotel with large rooms. Just by the motorway outside of Ghent so you'll want public transport to get you to the centre. There is a bus just outside the hotel or walk 10 minutes for a tram. Reception sells tickets. The rooms were clean and quiet at night, and were not too hot despite it being in the middle of summer. Breakfast is OK — but could do with cooked meats and eggs (this is the first hotel I have stayed in that hasn't done this…) Other small downsides were that check in took a long time and we had to keep asking for the code to exit the car park (it should have been given to us when we checked in and out. )

Classic chain hotel with no special allure. Positive: Spacious rooms, negative point: the car park costs 19 euros, to be added to the note.

The place is cleaned and well maintained. In the issues sides: 1) TV channels are very limited and many of them do not work 2) Somehow isolated location, just one restaurant next to door and nothing else. 3) No bike rent possibility, that would be great idea if management thought about it. 4) Request a room far a way from the lift, the highway is very close to hotel and further from lift is further from highway (noisy if the window is opened)

Used the meeting room facilities. Clean, spacious rooms though some might find them a little outdated. Good restaurant. Terrible parking exit because of the extreme bumps (might damage your car if its low! )

Despite the exterior and proximity to motorway, the hotel is excellent: offering very spacious rooms, quiet and friendly. Seems to also be a popular meeting place for business. Highly recommended.

Clean, spacious and a nice room. The breakfast was good and available for a long time. I can recommend with the helpful staff.

Bedrooms are great with comfy beds. Just. Let down by the breakfast. Nothing hot to eat just a cold selection.

Hotel location is excellent for carrying out business in the hospital area. The room was comfortable and definitely big sized. One thing I didn't like was the plastic curtain for the shower: so '90s in a bad way. Breakfast offering is mediocre: other Holiday Inns I have been to provided far better options. The hotel however offers extra perks if you are an IHG member: high speed Wi-Fi, free access to fitness center (still to try out) and extra discounts.

From our first welcome to our breakfast and the room, we were pleased! Luc at the front desk was SUPERB! The location was easy to find, and driving into the city center was easy, even on New Years Eve. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for great service and a good location, stay here! … Tell Luc at the front desk hello!

Great bed, very comfortable, breakfast was OK. Rooms needs an update and would have been nice if they gave more than 1 botte of water per stay period also, pretty far from town and limited public transport.

Large room with 2 beds and pull out sofa bed. Nice, free breakfast with many options. Validated parking. Not too far from downtown. You can take public transport or drive downtown. Parking wasn't an issue on a Sunday, but could be an issues on other days. Nice and friendly staff spoke English who gave us directions and a Ghent city map with suggestions.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving many tips that helped my wife and I. The location was far from the center of Gent, but close to bus and train stops to get where you needed to go. The room was nice, but was extremely hot and changing the thermostat didn't seem to help. The Wi-Fi connection would also go in and out. The breakfast was good, fresh, and different from my usual HIE meals.

Large, modern rooms, very large beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With public not super easy to reach. Better but also more expensive than the competition next door.

Very nice hotel, good location, very clean in the rooms, hallways and entrance. The staff are very nice and efficient. The rooms are huge and the amenities are not lacking: TV, water bottle, new Nespresso coffeemaker and some pods available, electric heated carafe with some teas. Breakfast is plentiful, varied and everything is good. I discover this hotel chain and I think I will return to fly.

Price is OK. The breakfast could definitely be better. The eggs are often not through enough and to wobbly.

Bad experience. Unhealthy staff at the reception. In the middle of nowhere the parking is however paid and no possibility to park elsewhere! To flee you will find much better elsewhere.

Located just outside Ghent this Holiday Inn express was ideally located for a short tourist trip to Belgium mainly Bruges but also Ghent itself. Check in was friendly and hassle free. The room was set up with 2 double beds ideal for our family trip. Clean with air conditioning and comfortable beds it was ideal. The Bus for Ghent is just a minute short walk and at just 3 Euro cheaper than parking. Breakfast was good, nice selection if a little busy. All in all a good stay.

Lovely ambiance, efficient front desk. Rooms can improve in terms of housekeeping, such as providing with toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, body lotion, etc.

Nice that part as part of our rewards package we got a free boat ride on the canal. The female desk clerks were very nice. The male one was rather gruff. It is far from the city center and not a very good location for tourists. It is more of a business person's motel. Why only 1 water bottle for a 3 person room?!? Is this an example of Belgians being frugal with water?!?

Bed comfortable. Hotel bit knocked about. Breakfast fine but not cooked apart from the boiled eggs and ham. Fun to watch the wild rabbits messing about on the grass outside.

Was the best Hotel during our Belgium trip. Star deduction due to the Breakfast room, which looks more like a train station hall. Otherwise, quick Internet and VERY spacious hotel rooms. It is a beer!

Nice rooms. A drinks vending machine, blaring all night stands in the hallway. And when someone takes a drink, standing upright in the bed. Cleanliness of the room is ok.

Negative — cold, very noisy. I stayed there four times at least one week every time. All of the rooms I had were really cold. For heating there is only air-conditioning, and is very noisy — not possible to let it run during the night, so when outside is bellow 0°C you will sleep in this hotel in the sweather. Another fact is that the hotel is very noisy. I was there twice over the weekend and everytime there was downstairs a party till 3 or 4 am. During the week there were sometimes big groups of students who made a big noise during the night, therefore I would not recommend this hotel for business purposes. The only positive is that the rooms are well cleaned and the well equiped, but how can you enjoy this if you have to sit there in a coat and cannot sleep in the night.
