We recently stayed at Post am See and would like to thank Wolfgang, Monika and the whole team for a most enjoyable stay.
Post an See is an excellent health spa resort offering outstanding facilities, superb food and exceptional service.
Everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation, from the spa and wellness areas to the options for the dining experience.
All your staff from the front desk throughout the entire complexes were friendly, attentive and clearly passionate about what they do, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
We will highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a high-quality wellness getaway.

Great place with excellent service. We were lucky and were able to participate at wine tasting upon arrival. Breakfast is fabulous, I also enjoyed free yoga lesson. The spa area is very nice including complimentary tea, nuts and fruits.
Breakfast is served until 12 am which is very kind. The Hotel issues daily newspaper available during breakfast where you can find all activities of the day.

The hotel is truly beautiful — it perfectly balances tradition with modern sophistication. The rooms are comfortable and feature thoughtful, luxurious touches. The rooftop spa is exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, dinner at the restaurant, and evening drinks at the bar. The majority of the staff were very polite and friendly, which made our stay even more pleasant. The location is ideal for exploring the Salzkammergut region, and the lake views are absolutely stunning — especially from the spa’s jacuzzi on the sixth floor. The only disappointment was during breakfast, when the chef preparing the hot dishes was unfortunately quite unfriendly and unwilling to communicate in English. Given that the hotel provides English menus and presents itself internationally, this felt somewhat out of place. It was not simply a matter of language, but rather his brusque attitude, which made me feel uncomfortable and, frankly, disrespected as a guest. He also spoke about me in German to other guests in my presence, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. I reported the incident to the management, who responded with an apology, which I appreciated. Still, the behaviour did not reflect the otherwise high standard of service throughout the hotel, and I believe a more considerate follow-up would have been appropriate given the nature of the incident. Nonetheless, I would still recommend the hotel overall for its comfort, beautiful setting, and exceptional facilities.

Dinner experience only.
Restaurant stylishly decorated, but not over the top. The dishes on the menu sounded creative and interesting Service is best described as chaotic. The lady in charge appeared to be the only one trusted to welcome, engage with guests and take orders. Two young service ladies were obviously not trained, lacked confidence and were only allowed to clear tables. Two gentlemen appeared from time time, but were not given any responsibility and just filled in to help when pressure arose.
At the suggestion of the head lady, we shared a starter, but no second plate was brought.
After the starter, plates were removed and some cutlery, but for two of us not. My wife was left with two knives. Our main dish took more than 90 minutes, and it only arrived after we questioned the delay. My wife's pasta dish although tasty was hardly edible as the pasta stucked together.
All in all the dinner experience was disappointing.
As locals we had hoped that we had found a restaurant which would be on our list to return to and recommend to others, but after this experience, I am not sure we will return. May be my expectations were too high as I had imagined that Groller Hospitality group would have had a better trained service team on board.
Regretably I can only score a ' 2 ' out of ' 5 '

The photos and reviews on here do not do this place justice. Absolutely exceptional hotel and outstanding value for money. Phenomenal setting with an unbeatable spa, great restaurant and staff who can’t do enough for you. The breakfast was absolutely top tier too. Could not recommend this place enough!

Room, bed and bathroom were comfortable, modern, clean and good.
The problem was that the room was very hot. There was no aircon, which I expected from a 4 star hotel of this standard. For sustainability reasons perhaps? But then they could at least have a fan. Because of the heat, we had to open the window, and as the hotel is in the centre of the village, we were kept awake until 2am by people yelling, singing and partying very loudly in the square below. I did not expect a tiny village to be this noisy on an ordinary Tuesday night. So a hot and noisy night.
There was supposed to be some cooling system in the room, but that is apparently not installed in the rooms on our floor. No one made us aware of this or of any other possibility for cooling the room.
Other than that, everything good, excellent breakfast, great view of the lake from our room. Nice spa area with great lake view.

Lovely hotel that fulfilled our expectations. We had a lake view from a comfortable room with a great shower and bath, and separate toilet. We found staff to be friendly and helpful. The cocktail bar is beautifully appointed and overall we very much enjoyed our stay here.

The prettiest and quietest spot among the lakes in the region. The food is gourmet. The room was gorgeous. The spa — outstanding — the view of the lake from the pool/whirlpool was like something I've never experienced. Best breakfast, with local products, large and diverse, I've ever seen. Service, excellent. Superlative all around.

Let me start with the one negative. There is no air conditioning. For much of the year this is likely not a problem, but in the dead of summer, and with rising temperatures, it can become uncomfortably hot.
That out of the way, everything else was perfect.
Traunkirschen is among the smaller towns on Traunsee, and unlike Gmunden to the north, there is very little there. But that tranquility is precisely its charm. The hotel is right on the lake, with stunning water and mountain views, There’s a small swimming inlet, and nearby you can rent motorboats (a highly recommended activity—not too expensive, and no rowing required! ). And while the village itself is tiny, it's conveniently close to several other places of interest including the Feuerkogel cable car (absolutely worth doing), the spa town of Bad Ischl, Gmunden, and other lakes in the area.
The rooms are large and while not fancy, are well appointed, with comfortable beds and bedding and a nice rain shower in the bathroom (again, the one negative being the lack of a/c). Breakfast was out of this world, top quality and HUGE selection. I don't think I have ever had a nicer hotel breakfast experience. There is also a spa on the top floor with a swimming pool (with lovely views and a jacuzzi function), sauna, and lounging chairs. It is all included! Finally the staff, which I feel is what can make or break a hotel experience, was truly nice and helpful, without exception.
Would I recommend this hotel? Without hesitation.

I had booked this hotel for a special occasion and was looking forward to the ‘freien Blick auf den See’ (uninterrupted view of the lake) from an upper level. Our room, although lovely, was probably a level too low and there was a house that interrupted a view. This may seem petty, but was a small pity for us. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom big and lovely. We appreciate a separate toilet. The furnishings were modern and appealing. The lift and bathroom near the restaurant need to be seen. Quirkily wonderful.
The rooftop pool, although small is especially wonderful if you manage to be there at a time with only a few people. The outlook is very special. The sauna and quiet area are lovely too.
Parking is a little tricky but the staff are very helpful in explaining how it works and we were lucky to always find a spot across the road.
We would definitely stay here again but just ask for a room higher up.

Genuinely one of the best all-round hotel experiences I have had. The setting is wonderful, the dinner and breakfast were fantastic, the staff were helpful and friendly. I would love to come back some day.

Overall, our stay at the hotel was pleasant and enjoyable. The facilities were satisfactory, and we had a good time. However, we were quite disappointed with the service, particularly during dinner.
We entered the dining room for dinner, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. One of the dishes was especially unappealing — we took only a single bite and returned it. Instead of offering an alternative, a refund, or even acknowledging the issue, the waiter simply took the plate back to the kitchen without any comment. Despite this, we were still charged for the full meal.
This kind of service was very disappointing and not what we would expect from a professional establishment. We believe the situation could have been handled with more attention and care. We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves its service standards moving forward.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The rooms were incredibly comfortable, beautifully designed and spacious. The breakfast was a true delight, with a chef preparing fresh dishes right in front of you! The spa was fantastic as well, offering a stylish and relaxing atmosphere with stunning views. Every detail at this hotel was perfect — I can't wait to come back!

Secret escape. Amazing and cute area, breathtaking view, relaxing sauna. This is the definition of recharging. I loved the details around the hotel. It’s amazing on first sight but it’s showing it beauty if you look closer. The hotel hosted ice bathing too with great advisors. Loved my stay here!

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday at hotel Post am See. It offers well-appointed rooms, high quality design, a balcony with breathtaking views over the lake and mountains, exquisite dining options, and attentive staff. Consider staying at this hotel for a truly unforgettable experience!

Overall a nice Hotel, but our stay was overshadowed by some glitches. The location is very beautiful, right by the lake and with a view of the mountains. Especially the spa has a very nice view.
Our room in the main building had lake view, which was also nice, but was also directly above the entrance of the hotel. This resulted in us not able to sleep until 1:30 am, because guests and staff of the restaurant had exicted goodbyes exchanged and had smoke breaks right under our window. Also the request to the reception to have an eye on this after the first night, did not result in a change the following night.
We ate twice at the poststube for dinner and had a very good service and food qualtity. We also liked the atmosphere.
Food quality at the breakfeast was also very good. Unfortunetly the service staff at breakfast gave me and my wive a very strange vibe, after we requested to wait with the drink order until after we have picked out what we wanted to eat.
A little unfortunate, as it clouds the overall positive impression, but you also never know what triggered the person in front of you.

What an amazing place and the hotel and surroundings fully lived up to our expectations. It was a great experience from the check-in to we left with an amazing Spa area and pool with bubbles. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and we had such a nice stay. Restaurant was also an experience and the staff was so extremely friendly and the service was top-notch. We will give our warmest recommendation to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy.
