So the hotel is a dream — from breakfast to sauna and rooms. The River Inn invites you to take a walk and a hiking trail to many interesting areas is just behind the hotel. The mountain "tame emperor" offers a great backdrop. The service personnel are extremely friendly.
If only there wasn't the street right in front of the hotel. Apparently, that didn't bother many other people who gave reviews. For us, however, rest is an essential recreational factor — especially when you drive to the Idyll Austria. It's so much traffic you rarely get over the road. The hotel's own restaurant is also placed directly on the street if you don't want to eat indoors.
The windows are well insulated, but on warm days you want to open the windows without air conditioning and you are dealing with traffic noise. Even behind the hotel, the noise can still be heard.
As I said, it is a great pity, because otherwise there is really nothing wrong.

Beautiful area and hotel with OUTSTANDING staff!

Nice staff, nice guest room, the food is not bad, but for my taste a bit expensive. Because you don't get the big highlight on offer, you just get good civic cuisine. But they are exactly the same way where. I personally cannot recommend the outdoor area. Right on the main road, where everything from the noisy motorad to the truck to the psychopathic Raser is there. It would have to be a 50s zone with radar here, then it would be really nice outside. So you have to talk screaming, which reduces the fun factor a lot. Very annoying for me, though, is a big hole in the tarmac right at the exit. It can already be described as a car threatening.

Nice staff, the prices of the food are a bit too high for my liking when compared to a gourmet restaurant. Interior is beautiful to look at. External terrace is not mine, as the inn is diternally located on the main street and therefore a cosy get-together is not possible, as you often have to repeat words or live very loudly. I don't enjoy that.

Super Hotel with a 1 A kitchen. Very friendly team of employees. Summer and winter a perfect starting point for skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, hiking, cycling …

Ever since we first visited Zur Schanz in 2014 we visit the restaurant when we can. The food is of very good quality and beside having a ‘standard‘ menu, they always have seasonal specials. The staff is very friendly and know their job very well, and the atmosphere is absolutely faboules and traditional.

Very pleasant atmosphere and very friendly staff. The chosen dishes were a real feast for the palate.
Both the lamb stew as well as the Frühlingsrisotto were very tasty.
As a dessert, there was a strawberry — tiramisu. Also this was very tasty.
I can only recommend this location.

Good bourgeois cuisine. Well suited for larger groups. Ambience leaves something to be desired. Something could be done again. Many parking spaces available. Enough space for buses, too. Unfortunately, no nice outdoor seats, as heavily navigable federal road passes right next to it.

Traditional Tyrolean tavern with sensational food and very competent and friendly staff. Warmly recommended.

Accommodation super. The room is clean. Restaurant great food. Sauna, wellness available.

How were in the hotel at the Schanz before and after our Emperor hut tour each one night guest.
The service here is very friendly and personal, so we could park our car during the tour in the parking lot here.
The buffet breakfast is very tasty and varied. Great, I find that touch — and freshly cooked fried eggs on the buffet. The menu is small but the food in preparation and quality is absolutely convincing.
Only in the first room we needed even a more intense cleaning in the bathroom.
That second room was very large and tip top.
Bottom line is the hotel and especially very recommendable Tavern.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I was extremely dissatisfied with my food on this visit. For years, I visit from time to time the Schanz and could never bother me on the quality of the dishes. This time I was disappointed however difficult. For the price the estimated 50 g Lamb (moderate quality) with a Ratatouille that tasted were as warmed up, but well below the standard.
Also the operation would occupy just 3 tables can often over look to notice that my glass is empty for more than 15 min.
A disappointment. For me, there will be no further visits to the Schanz.

The first impression was good, but it should be noted that it is next to a road (more on this later). Enough parking, clean appearance. The foyer was very pleasant: a modern rustic. Check-in was fast, very friendly and without problems.
Once in the room we were very surprised: I expected a so beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable room for € 40 per night and person for my part.
The bathroom was spacious and fitted with a window. Although somewhat old-fashioned but overall neat tiles.
From the street one hasn't heard much even on the large balcony, and if it does, then compensated the views of the mountains.
Although we were slightly late, food was served us yet, which has tasted very good (my recommendation: the salad with feta cheese, as well as the salad with the pressed dumplings. )
After a few hours in Kufstein (approx. 3 km away), we went back to the restaurant. Again incredibly friendly staff and good food, if a bit höherpreisiges.
The night was the mattresses well, somewhat hard (matter of taste).
Breakfast blew me away. There's everything your heart desires: Speck delicious juices, teas and coffee to homemade jams and Bircher Müsli. There's also Easter wreaths, cake, dyed eggs etc. This time, all staff were friendly and helpful. (The tees by Julius Meinl as well as the grape juice and bacon are highly recommended here).

Rooms in the 2 floor are a disaster, not even a star worth it. No balcony, the TV is an old tube unit in the trash belongs to, and to make matters worse, there was also no hot water since.

We had in this Hotel during the carnival holidays in 2014 our stay. Even if the Hotel is sure already is a little bit older, it has the feel good factor no harm done. The rooms were adequate, comfortable and very clean. What, however, one absolutely must mention, is the delicious food that you get in this Inn, from the attentive and very friendly staff who serve you. Also the Frühstücksbufett was very diverse and with regional products can be enriched. Super tasty and very appealing to the eye done! We come in the next carnival holidays be back for sure… Thanks for a great stay.

Here was I just something to eat. But I can only recommend it. The food is very good. The staff is very nice and attentive. The atmosphere… cozy. Typical Of The Tyrol.
