What a beautiful place for a high tea. Lucky I stumbled across this! Loved all the food and the old homestead is amazing!

It’s a beautiful, relaxing, olde world experience. We have been lucky enough to stay a few times and each time we have had a wonderful stay. The staff make you feel comfortable and cared for. Thank you everyone and thank you Cathy for going out of your way to make our stay so enjoyable.

I've been here several times and the estate is just beautiful! The staff are friendly, look after us really well and the place oozes old world charm. Would definitely recommend you come up and stay at the hotel here. It's amazing!

We were there to cater for a private funtion. The venue is beautiful. Phil and his team were amazing and so supportive. Only the refrigerator let us down.

Ignored for around 3 minutes when arrived at the check in counter.
Room on 1st floor and were not informed there were no lifts — dodgy knee!
Opened balcony doors — I think the first to do so in a year! Needs a huge clean.
Shower has a massive rain shower head and nothing else. Not sure how to keep my head out of the way when I don’t need to wash my hair.
Have only been here an hour — obviously more to come!

We live in the Yarra Valley and it’s been a dream of mine to one day visit and stay at this venue. Hubby gifted me the experience as a Christmas/28th wedding anniversary present.
Loved our stay. Wonderful customer service. Amazing food. Beautiful spacious rooms.

Chateau Yering is a very amazing posh place to stay. The history alone behind the buildings is breath taking and the art is mesmerising, the food is well cooked and rich with flavour I personally rate 5 star.

Just be aware of an unethical and over inflated wine price. I made the mistake of not looking at the price when the waiter confirmed my wine selection. I made the mistake of assuming the first one listed and locally produced would be reasonably priced. They charge $164 for a locally produced 2005 Chardonnay, which is online for $28.95. I just find that outrageous, arrogant and unethical. Any company that does that in this day and age doesn't need my support or my money. PS. What makes this worse to me is that I just asked for a glass of Chardonnay. That was lost in translation and a bottle was brought out, I just went along with it to save the embarrassment to the waiter.

An absolutely amazing experience, the staff are all very friendly, and its such a beautiful old and well looked after building!

Attention to detail and presentation was outstanding. Personal touches such as birthday card and chocolates in our room on arrival made us feel very welcome. The resaurant meals were delicious. I would recommend it as a special experience get away.

Lovely bright room within the chateau. Great, friendly service and food was delightful.

My husband and I dined here on a Saturday night, 8pm sitting. We chose the three course menu. The service from the moment we stepped into the building was warm and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely and began with us being brought into a lovely room full of couches & chairs where we briefly waited for our table to be ready. Then we were brought through to the restaurant itself. All three courses were prompt, beautifully presented & tasted devine. The only downside was that the pork was a little dry. The dessert was a standout, in particular their apple dessert was a must try! Perfect date night during the cooler months in the Yarra Valley. Would definitely dine at Eleanors again.

The restaurant the food was amazing and so was the wine menu, fine dining. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was like stepping back in time. The open fire place was nice to sit back in front of and relax. We enjoyed our experience at Chateau Yering Hotel.

Beautiful restaurant. Food was delicious and catered to my dietary needs. Went on a Wednesday so it was very quiet. Fantastic service.

We had lovely afternoon tea in the cafe — a scrumptious sweet pumpkin cake, sitting in sunlight whilst the wind blew and chilled people outside!

Victorian building. Classic. I basically wandered through a scene from a movie. Very noteworthy. I would consider a dining experience.

We didn't stay at the hotel. However, we enjoyed the surrounding buildings and gardens which were very well kept. If you enjoy wineries and scenic landscapes visit Yering for its landmarks.

HIGH TEA DISAPPOINTMENT — My sisters and I wanted to surprise our mum with a gorgeous high tea for her birthday. We knew she appreciated good food and loved the concept of high tea. We also knew of how much she raved about the high tea at the Windsor in the city and also at Coombe Yarra Valley. Keeping this in mind, we still wanted to find that high tea that made her go ‘wow’. We had a selection of a few places to go in the Yarra Valley and decided to go with Chateau Yering due to its great reviews online. We arrived, and thought what a beautiful start to the afternoon; walking into the lovely old building and admiring the old decor. It gave off a vintage fine dining vibe. But how wrong we were. We were seated in the middle of the room. It was just us and another table of six, every other table was empty which seemed a little odd. We were all offered a glass of French champagne. The waitress that was looking after us seemed inexperienced and was fumbling, spilt water on herself and couldn’t hold the plates of food very well, she was just really awkward. But we didn’t care too much as we all have to start somewhere and it could have been her first day on the job for all we knew. For the amount of money we paid per head, the food was unfortunately very average. Both types of Sandwiches provided to us were stale and bland, the pies were actually somewhat tasty but borderline warm and not hot at all. There were prawn skewers for each of us.

Weekend farmers market, live music, amazing grounds, hot food, great local produce, especially liked the Aztec chocolate, we'll definitely be going back! Definitely worth the hours drive!

My wife and I enjoyed the Chateau immensely. The rooms had good facility and both dinner and breakfast at Yerling was fantastic. Everyone made you feel welcome and comfortable.

Wonderful! Wine tasting here was a wonderful experience. The gentleman that served us was amazing. His knowledge, his friendliness and his rapport building were 2nd to non on the day. Was able to converse about other things than just wine to keep us engaged and did a lovely job of selling us wine as well. I’m seriously looking forward to drinking it. Cheers.

An old place nicely done up, it has a bath but no spa. I found the breakfast disappointing I ordered the only vegetarian dish on the menu and it was very dry. I then asked if I could have a bit of a avocado on top as it was terribly dry. They said only this once as they don't change the menu But when they brought my plate back from the kitchen there was no avocado to be seen. I expected more from a place that charges $500 a night. It's average.

Lovely place to stay. I don't have a negative word to stay about it. We stayed the night after a friend's wedding nearby. The big breakfast the following day reality topped it off. If you have the opportunity to stay here I highly recommend it.

A grandiose and reputable winery. Oldest in the area I heard the tour guide mention and winner of many awards. It was personally a disappointment. The tasters are friendly and service is good. There's also a decent view. Architecture however feels soulless and can't help but feel it's made for tourists and lives more off it's reputation. So many tours come through this place. It's one of the top locations but I preferred other wineries in the are (Helen's Hill). Then again, if you like the wine here then knock yourself out! In the end wine is always a personal pleasure.

Went for lunch at the Yering restaurant. Food was very fancy but all courses were delicious. Wait times were high but may be due to large numbers at the restaurant. Local wines services with dinner were spot on and very good. Recommend.

My family enjoyed our lunch. The lamb shoulder was so yum. We definitely will order the lamb again. The French fries was a bit salty. We tried all three desserts and they are all very nice.

Great location and views. Room was amazing. Dinner was not up to scratch. Would stay again and eat somewhere else for dinner.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The rooms are beautiful and the views are serene. The food at the restaurant is outstanding (chef hat restaurant) and the service staff are very pleasant. Certainly worth visiting for those who ajve not visited before.

Excellent all round. I'm a chef of 23yrs experience, earning hats in Oz & Michelin in UK. My hat is off to the new French chef at Yering Station. Couldn't fault any of my 5 courses. Excellent reserve wines, very good under pressure table service. My 5th lunch there. Will be back again.

Beautiful place. Magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Staff super friendly. Very good contemporary art gallery. Superb selection of superior wines. Perfect for a day out in the country. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Will definitely go back.

Wonderful place with exquisite views. Best views from the restaurant and cellar door of the valley that you'll get anywhere! Estate wine is also some of the best. You can also see what's happening in the wine production area from behind the glass wall.

Pathetic service which is a shame coz the property is beautiful and rooms are beautifully appointed. Strangely, the coffee machine is in the bathroom! Staff is rude and an attitude that wreaks of a sense of entitlement. Couldn't spot a smile on any of the staff's faces and every request made was responded in a rude/stand offish manner. This was my second visit and a huge deterioration in the service standards. I am assuming there has been a change in management… which you should probably take a relook at.

Stayed at Chateau Yering on Sunday night. It was my 50th birthday and a surprise visit. We arrived by helicopter, which was out of this world! The homestead is the perfect location to arrive in style… the building is truly magnificent. My partner had booked a suite, which was cosy, spacious and luxurious. The reason I don't give the experience more than three stars is that I was very disappointed with the quality of the food, both dinner (at Eleanor's) and breakfast the following morning. Not as refined as the hotel makes you believe.
Staff is ten out of ten. Great and lovely people. So, if they up the ante food-wise, I would definitely come back! Right now, not so sure…

Food in the historic area was absolutely delicious and although was unable to drink the wine (underage), it emitted a nice scent that arouses the nose.

Stunning setting on expansive grounds for a Sunday Farmers market. Farmers market is held every 3rd Sunday of the month. You can buy delicious condiments, breads, food, chocolates, olive oil, sweets and also eat at the restaurant, lounge on the lawns with your own picnic and while away the time listening to the live band playing. Also be sure to head across to the Yering Station wine rooms for taste testing and purchases of wines to take home. All the deliciousness that you find in the Sunday farmers market is available at their dedicated shop, for when you should visit and the market is not open. You won't leave disappointed, rather likely to be laden with bags full of deliciousness to take home. My picks: *Top pick hands down Cunliffe waters +Raspberry & Rhubarb jam (incredible eaten with cream) +Salsa Picante +Peach & Ginger Chutney +Willamette Raspberry Jam (perfect for sponge cakes without all the seeds getting stuck in your teeth) Jam Lady Jam +Quince & Rosewater Jam +Lime Marmalade Crumbs +Macadamia Florentines with macadamia and white chocolate Enjoy all the deliciousness!

Very quaint and beautiful. Well keep garden, friendly staff for wine tasting too. Great space for art exhibitions too.

The gardens and areas around the hotel are very nice. We didn't eat there but probably would have if we stopped for long enough. The wine tasting nearby looked good as well.

Lovely venue to celebrate our anniversary. However Chateau Yering let themselves down by their extremely poor customer service. The restaurant were short staffed which led to too long waits between being seated, to drinks orders, food ordering and meal delivery. Food wasn't memorable at all either. Really poor standard of staff too, quite sloppy in food service. Next morning after our early morning ballooning the cafe food and service didn't excite us either. Standard food quality and sub standard wait staff. Such a shame!

We spent a lovely evening and morning at Chateau Yering. From the welcone at the door to the consiatent polite helpfulness from all the staff we met. Our room was magnificent, our dinner was the best we've had in a long time (in presentation and taste) … the wait staff friendly and attentive. We booked a room for a family breakfast and everyone knew exactly what we wanted and were very helpful. Will definitely go again… and will highly recommend.

The hotel was beautiful. The room was immaculate and very big. Private balcony wrapped around the room was impressive. Dinner was fantastic. Our waiter really went the extra mile to make sure our evening was perfect. Only let down was a less than pleasant first impression from the front desk. She immediately put us offside by telling us our payment method was not accepted before she even knew what it was. Turned out the payment method was fine. It just seemed that every question came back with a negative response. Expected more from such an expensive hotel. I still recommend it. You may get someone else at the front desk when you stay.

Attended as a guest forba wedding. The food was great and the attention provided by staff was exceptionak.

Beautiful accommodation and grounds. The rooms are amazing and very "old world". We loved the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend for a special night away.

We enjoyed the hot air balloon ride and myself and my partner thought having buffet breakfast at the Chateau Yering would be a nice way to finish the whole hot air balloon experience. Also, it was recommended by few of our friends who informed us to enjoy the surroundings of the Chateau. We felt the staff was too busy to even come up to the table to obtain our orders and we had to constantly go to the counter to obtain what we were paying for. We felt the staff was more concern of receiving the payment, not providing what we require and getting rid of us quickly as possible as opposed to really serving us or wanting to find out what we really wanted. The whole hot air balloon experience was marred by the way Chateau Yering staff served their guest.

Fabulous experience made even better by Maitre d' Kelly bringing humour, warmth and fabulous service.

Totally loved the experience of old world charm — amazing fireplaces and sitting rooms, beautiful views, local wineries, excellent food and outstanding service. Can't wait to go back.
