Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne

Don’t bother with breakfast, it’s lacking, coffee from a barista is extra which brings the cost to $40pp.
You can do better and cheaper nearby.
Wi-fi did not work in my room, so no chrome cast available,
Bathroom was small and not very clean, mould in shower.
The building is beautiful, and in a good location, that’s where it stops.
I would not recommend this hotel.

Great location, good price for the room, well stocked quality products in bathroom, Nespresso coffee pods.
Room very clean bit on the small side, furniture in room nice, beds a little soft for us. Easy access to free Wi-Fi.
Staff very friendly, historic furnishings inside, tram stop 4 conveniently close to entrance.

We stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne for one night, and it was exactly what we needed. The building itself is stunning, beautifully renovated, grand, and full of character, with those massive high ceilings that make everything feel spacious and calm. Our room had plenty of space for us to settle in and the whole atmosphere added a real sense of elegance and occasion to our stay.
The service at the front desk was exceptional. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They were more than happy to accommodate our request for a late checkout, and nothing felt like too much trouble.
We also had lunch the next day at Ms Ava, and it was a highlight. The food was delicious, generously portioned, well priced, and arrived quickly. The lovely woman who served us made the experience even more memorable, warm, attentive, and truly delightful. We won’t forget her kindness.

We felt very welcoming and well served from all of the staffs at this hotel. Buffet breakfast has satisfying options and services are warm and professional. Highly Recommend to book it. The cocktails in the bar are delicious. Our Room on level 8 is a bit small but it’s acceptable. Staff put us at back side of the building which is very quiet and peaceful. In the morning, I saw the cleaner at front door work hard to make every metal and glasses sparkly shiny. Staying here feels like returning to an old film — warm, elegant, and deeply human, far removed from today’s automated, impersonal service. Me and my boyfriend both had such romantic time in this hotel and truly wish to come back to stay longer.

Great location in Melbourne's CBD and close to the tram line. We had continual issues with our swipe card to access the lifts and room and the buffet breakfast could have been better. Room service menu could definetely be improved upon possibly with some salad options and fruit salad.
Overall, had a fantastic stay at the hotel and good value for money.

Recently stayed here for a few nights as I was attending a training course for work, however upon returning home I noticed an unknown charge of $53.64 on my card.
I called the hotel to inquire what this was for, as I wasn't sent an invoice or anything. They told me it was for a breakfast, which I never had as I was in a conference each day of my stay from 8:30 AM. I was eating Coles cereal out of a mug in my hotel room to save time and money lol. I was told they would check with reception as someone may have mistakenly charged me and they'd email me back.
Days go by with no email or any further correspondence. I inform my work and my colleague who arranged the booking calls on my behalf. She tries calling the hotel several times throughout the morning but the number is always busy, so she has to call the hotel's main line and get them to transfer her to reception.
Reception says they have no record of my staying at the hotel, even though they could find my details just 3-4 days prior when I called. I have to provide the room number and they magically confirm I do exist. They say they will try to track down a signed receipt for the restaurant (which won't exist) and will finally refund me if they can't find it.
Just an absolute clown-show and a massive waste of mine and my company's time. Still waiting on a refund. Pathetic communication.
The location was excellent. The room had a good view although the window was filthy which mired that somewhat.

For me, the best attribute of this hotel is the location. It was easy to go around and enjoy the cbd because it’s nearby restaurants/cafes, shops, and transportation. Our purpose was to watch a concert and there is tram nearby to either MCG or Marvel stadium.
The room we stayed at was spacious but understandably, the building is old so manage your expectations. Nevertheless, it was a good price for the duration of our stay.
Lastly, I want to thank the staff for accommodating my early check-in request. I emailed them in advance and was hopeful but didn’t fully expect an early check-in. When we arrived at 6am, they already arranged a room for us and we checked-in comfortably. We left the night before check out so I really feel like we have made the most of our stay. I’d give — 5 star if I could. Hotel room was not so clean, AC was not working properly, staff were extremely rude including the manager. Their behaviour was not so great and welcoming. If we were asking questions, they were passing us to each other and at the end we were not even sure what is the answer. The breakfast was buffet however it was really unorganised and the staff in buffet were really rude and rushing the guests to leave early on the arrival. We arrived at 9:30 and breakfast meant to finish by 10 however we were told at the door that we were late and they are closing in 10 minutes and we need to hurry up. When I asked for glass they told me they only have whatever is there on the bench. Overall the behaviour of the whole staff on the floor in reception, restaurant and breakfast buffet was extremely rude! I had the worst experience as an American tourist in Melbourne by staying at here! It doesn’t worth for the money we paid here!

Very disappointed with our 4 night stay.
Our first room was very dusty and dirty. Smoke alarm falling off the roof. Bathroom door falling off the wall and hard to open. Mismatched cups. Mouldy shower that floods the bathroom. Just nasty. I should have realised something was wrong when we first got into the room to find both toilet seats up, that’s just odd for a hotel.
They forgot to turn over our room and when I rung at 3:30, I told them we were disappointed with the room and we moved rooms.
Second room was better. The bathroom is such a poor design!
The staff are lovely, but let down by basic room maintenance.
Only good thing about this place is its location.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I spent 3 nights here late August of this year. The staff were amazing, friendly, professional, and responded promptly to messages prior to my visit.
The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. I upgraded my room for a small cost which allowed me to have views which overlooked the Yarra river. Well worth it if the rooms are available, just ask.
The location is perfect. Close to the trams and Flinders Street Station, although trains could be heard throughout the night.
The main downsides I discovered were the interior lights of the wardrobe, they didn't work for me. The mirror door was also quite heavy to move when getting in and out of the bathroom. Overall, these were all just minor issues that I came across.
Overall, I highly recommend staying at the Rendezvous Hotel to anyone visiting the city.

I cannot fault this hotel. The location was perfect, just down the road from Flinders Station and many restaurants and cafes. The rooms were gorgeous; lovely high ceilings, clean and they had all of the amenities you could want. The buffet breakfast was great and the reception/cleaning staff were lovely and kind. The hotel itself was elegant and made me feel as though I was sailing on the Titanic! A great stay for such an affordable price!

Staff were really helpful and nice. Rooms were small, bathroom was very tiny however they were clean and functional. Maybe I was expecting a bit more space. Location is perfect, right opposite the train station and tram and within walking distance of grocery shops (Cole’s), cafes (cathedral coffee was lovely) and shopping places. I would say that the cafes surrounding the hotel are very nice and hotel breakfast is not worth it (a bit expensive and food wasn’t amazing). However we did have a nice stay and the staff were very helpful — my phone wasn’t connection to the TV they allowed me to watch a film free of charge.

Stayed here for a couple of nights as a stopover between flights.
I thought this was really nice. The room was tidy and well equipped, the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was fine, shower worked well.
Location-wise, this is well situated. I was only visisting for two nights and thus had limited dealings with staff but those I spoke to were fine.
I was disappointed I only had two nights here and would happily return.

Apart from a rude awakening at six am from some false alarm our stay was pleasant.
It’s an old hotel and the beauty of the timber and decor is stunning.
In the extremely comfortable Ava bar a young lady named Christina topped off our stay with her wonderful attitude, smile and genuine enthusiasm for life.
It’s the little details you remember on these short stays and Christina lifts my rating from 4 to 5 stars.
I will stay again next time I’m in Melbourne.

Great place to base yourself and get out on foot, tram or train to explore Melbourne.
Tram within 50 metres, train within 100 metres, plenty to walk around and see.
Buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety and you can order your eggs as you like them.
Service was exceptional, staff were only too happy to store our bags prior to book in and after we had checked out and had several hours til our flight.

Gorgeous old world hotel which remains true to its original architecture. Staff are exceptional. Our room was on the small size but beautifully appointed. Comfortable bed. Very quiet. Convenient location near Flinders Street station and Melbourne's main attractions and eateries. We will be back!

Had a great stay at Rendezvous, really good value for money! The rooms were super clean, and walking through the heritage part of the hotel was lovely. Location is fabulous, basically across the road from Flinders St station. Breakfast was a nice variety and all the staff we spoke to couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.
