Lovely unique boutique hotel in the heart Melbourne ❤️

Still a fantastic boutique hotel in Melbourne. Stay there at least once.

The rooftop pool, industrial design and friendly staff made our stay memorable.

We did high tea! Thomas our server was lovely, helpful & very friendly! A different style of high tea but very yummy! The tea was served in beautiful tea pot & cups & sauces! The food was beautifully arranged, like a work of art! No boring sandwiches & scones! A very different high tea that you need to experience to believe! Wonderful from the lady that brought us a drink to the server Thomas who made our 39 Anniversary a very special afternoon!

Great deserts! Loved the atmosphere. Will come again.

Wow — the staff are amazing — nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are large with comfy beds and the soundproofing is sensational — you can literally hear nothing from outside in the city. How often do you stay anywhere and get lots of freebies — drinks, chocolates and nibbles — and they keep restocking the supplies! Yummy breakfast — will def stay again — exceeded expectations by a long way.

Absolutely loved staying here, right in the middle of everything, great atmosphere, only thing I would say is that there was only coffee and tea, no hot chocolate for all the non coffee and tea drinkers, other then that it was amazing.

We didn’t have the best experience the first time I stayed at the Adelphi due to a broken air con but gave it another shot and loved it. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were looked after and the room and everything was lovely. Nice convenient location — we will be back!

Stayed for a work offsite. Wow what a great hotel. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They couldnt have been nicer. I wasnt well through the night so couldnt face breakfast in restaurant so ordered croissant and coffee through room service and it was so delicious. All snacks, drinks and movies in your room are complimentary and I even had a personalised welcome greeting written on the mirror. Really really impressed. Highly recommend.

Very warm welcoming upon arrive. The staff were always friendly and helpful with our luggage. Attentive to room cleanliness and each time we left our hotel we came back to nice treats on our bedside tables. We also enjoyed a free mini bar each day of delicious treats. My partner and I woke up in the night due to noise in the lane. We also couldn't open the windows to get fresh air and the mattress was abit hard. We felt like payed for the quality of service rather than room facilities.

What a fantastic and memorable dining experience. Their cocktail creations look fantastic and are so beautifully theatrical. The food was devine, fresh & full of flavour. All complimented by the outstanding service thag we received from Lom (spelling? ), out waiter who went above and beyond to make it a relaxing and memorable dinner. We'll definitely be back for dessert!

Small rooms, but all we needed for our stay! Man at the desk remembered our names from start to finish. Free mini bar was a lovely touch. Hotel is beautifully decorated. Everyone was amazingly friendly, warm and welcoming! Would love to return.

Amazing cocktails and really great staff. An excellent place to take a seat at the bar and take it all in.

The desserts at Om Nom are the second best I've ever had (Woodland House desserts just beats them for flavour, though Om Nom desserts are much more playful). I will often skip desserts at nice restaurants in favour of a dessert wine and/ or cheese, but Om Nom makes desserts that are memorable and delicious and are worth visiting for.

We stayed to celebrate my partners birthday, and it was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had! The staff were amazing — friendly, helpful and kind. We stayed in the King Flinders Room, which was spacious and stylish with excellent attention to detail. The desert and cocktails at Om Nom kitchen are a work of art and delicious — probably the best in Melbourne. (Remember to make a reservation at Om Nom when you book a room because this place is popular! ) Can't recommend Adelphi enough — 10 stars out of 5!

The desserts at Om Nom deserve all the hype! We had the passionista, strawberry bliss and the cigar box — the most delightful being the strawberry. Most desserts here are all about the layers of texture, depth of flavor and the resulting opera on one’s palette. Being an avid cigar smoker, it wasn’t too intriguing but our fellow diners loved the incense of infused tobacco.

The On Nom restaurant is classy and delicious. All of the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and it's such a great experience.

Went to Omnom for dessert. It was truly amazing. Highly recommended.

Desserts are delicious and gorgeous. The cocktails were also very photo worthy but weren't the most delicious. Left off one star as the service was just average — the waitresses cleared our table very quickly to make way for new guests, however we stood and waited to pay the check for way too long.

Went to On Nom where the food was amazing, however the service could of been better. Drinks were very slow coming out & when staff came to clear an empty drink they would ask only that person they wanted another instead of everyone, had to repeat orders, one order was then brought out twice after a long wait & had to waive at staff to get their attention.

Nice spot, great location, staff were very friendly. Our room 405 could be a little noisy at times. Nice touch to offer food and drinks in the room for free.

I would give this place a negative if it was possible. Standing in line to try get a table and then someone literally walked in front of me to cut in line and the staff stood there like three stooges.

Do not stay on a Friday night — the hotel hosts Friday night parties on the rooftop, and the sound carries down in to the rooms. It is very difficult to sleep with that noise. Other things that may keep you awake would be the loud noise whenever the air conditioning starts up, or the noise from the corridors, since the front door does not insulate sound very well. You can hear whenever someone else is using water in the room next door. You can also hear someone vacuuming in the middle of the night. Although they aren't responsible for this, and you are unlikely to have it yourself — but the roadworks we were warned about with one day's notice, which started at 7am on Saturday morning. The hotel staff didn't seem to try and stop them, even though they couldn't legally start until 8am on a Saturday. And even if you could sleep through all that, we had a call from the hotel at 7.30am to the bedside phone. The breakfasts were pretty good, despite the smashed avo looking like it had been prepared a few hours earlier and being quite brown. Saturday night was much nicer, with no loud parties going on.

This is an awesome place to stay. Very nice room, great location, super friendly staff and free snacks and drinks included in your room. What's not to like?!

Beautiful boutique hotel, excellent attentive service, delicious food and great location. Highly recommend for a night at the theatre or a girls weekend.

Coffee is the best of seddon. The guys that work here are awesome. Has an indoor and outdoor seating and great home made food.

We dined at the famous Om Nom. The food and cocktails are amazing. We had a party of 8 sharing the desugstation feed me menu and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Great atmosphere and the staff are fantastic!

Staff were great and friendly, room was comfy and large, small touches in the room made it feel warm and welcoming. We had a lovely time, so much so that I am trying to talk hubby into making it our yearly anniversary night there.

I have stayed at the Adelphi multiple times now and after my stay last night I think I have resigned myself to the fact that I just couldn't stay anywhere else in the CBD.
I walked in after a super long day and was greeted by the lovely Richard who informed me I had been upgraded, yay! My new room had a bath which I totally needed after my day, I was then offered a welcome drink and happily accepted a glass of wine.
I also ordered room service for dinner and breakfast which was great, super speedy service and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
The extra touches such as free movies and free mini bar, drink on arrival, oh and the little chocolate you get for turndown service really make the Adelphi stand out from the other hotels in the CBD, along with the fantastic customer service and care.
Thank you Adelphi, I WILL be back!

Super location, friendly and nicely appointed rooms, albeit looking a bit dated. Rooftop pool area in dire need of refresh too. Generally quiet room but my windows not double glazed so a bit noisy in morning, and if you are unlucky enough to be in back room near service lift, it is quite noisy at night.

Staff are extremely helpful and nice. Great location and it was fun to relax in the roof top pool.

I stayed here for one night as a rare treat to myself. I stayed in the palatial suite, a $600+ a night room, as I wanted a room with a bath, a luxury my own home does not have. At around 8pm a man entered my room with out knocking or announcing himself in anyway, he just used his card and walked straight in. I had to actually ask him what he was doing for him to even acknowledge that I was in the room. This is such an incredible breach of privacy and I could not relax for one minute in this hotel as I felt any body could walk into my room at any time. No apologies were given from the member of staff at the time or from reception until I formally complained upon checkout. Given I paid so much and this completely ruined my experience I was offered little to no compensation for wasting Over $600 of my money for one nights accomodation. The manager offered me a $100 voucher for the restaurant, which given I do not live in the state is completely useless. Even that was only offered after an at length conversation of excuses about routine maintenance. This is a small boutique hotel with very few rooms (around 40 I believe) but they can not keep track of which ones are booked and let maintenance staff walk straight into your room whenever they like without even knocking. It's appalling.

Has a unique desert theme throughout the hotel. Our room was lovely. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Not sure if it's just our room but the shower couldn't hold its temperature longer than a minute.

Most unbelievable quality of service, visited for my birthday and was blown away by the friendly and accomodating staff. Knowing I was celebrating my birthday they wrote a kind message on the mirror and treated me to a small gift of chocolates. Staff go above and beyond to ensure a positive stay. Rooms were incredible, with all the desired ammenities and gorgeous bathrooms. Definitely recommend the room service shoe string fries.

Had high tea in town — strange quiche where they used a sweet crust? Had the same crust later with lemon curd — much better. Also, savoury scones? My mum does a better job. Desserts were great but the savoury section needed a bit of tweaking.

We loved this hotel. Stylish, fun, convenient. It was our first trip to Australia, and Adelphi's so close to everything. The stadium for Australian Open is 5 minutes by free shuttle. The laneways for restaurants and coffee are two blocks down, as are a lot of other stores and places. The park is not far. Our room was a great size, high ceilings, very comfortable bed, and you CANNOT beat the free mini bar of drinks and candy (WHEN do you get that at a hotel? EVER? ) Being boutique, it is not big or with great views, only 9 floors and not an overload of in-hotel amenities. However the ones they do have (free Wi-Fi, mini bar, good showers & soaps, coffee in the room, efficient reception) are important. The staff was wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The lift was broken the whole time we were there and we had to use the back one though the small kitchen. Not at big deal whatsoever, since a) it was fun to go by the kitchen and see the chefs creating their fusion desserts and b) having our room right next to the lift bank probably gave us extra quiet. Free Wi-Fi is always a plus. Would come here again, as well as look into their chain, and I would recommend Adelphi to anyone visiting.

We had a company offsite in the boardroom on the 8th floor. It is a wonderful comfortable environment in which to work. All tech work flawlessly, the view was good, the chairs comfy, and the service and food were high quality and flawless. So if you have a small office and want to get out of it for a day to do a workshop. this is a great venue.

I was after a hotel which was different from the rest and the Adelphi delivered. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a king plush room and the decor was outstanding even though only a few rooms have views of any sort. This doesn't really matter too much as you are situated right on Flinders Lane and only a short stroll from some of the best restaurants and bars in Melbourne. The free mini-bar doesn't include any alcoholic beverages but the sweets bowl contains things you will have never come across. Be sure to empty it each night to see what turns up the next day. I'll would definitely stay here again. Having been in so many hotel rooms which are always the same variation on a theme it refreshing to encounter rooms like these. Big bathrooms as well.

Stayed here over the weekend in the newly renovated hotel. The staff are absolutely lovely and the rooms are very modern with a great bathroom. Very central location on Flinders Lane and right opposite the best restaurant in Melbourne, Super Normal. They also have a great rooftop pool which is perfect for laps.

A recently renovated and perfectly located design hotel next to one of Melbourne's most famous laneways — Hosier Lane. Fantastic service before, during and after your stay. I think a lot of the 2/5 star reviews were written pre-renovation (Jan 2014).

Adelphi Hotel offered friendly hospitality and a quality accommodation for an enjoyable stay. The hotel is in the heart of the city and is only a short walk from the main tourist attractions in which Melbourne have. As they had refurbished the whole hotel, the interior design was outstanding! Very modern but quirky and different. The Dessert Bar was truly impeccable, with such great textures of all the dishes. I will soon be visiting them again.

Beware — Adelphi do not tell you that they charge you for the water next to your bed. It appears to be complimentary but it is charged for like a wounded bull at $4.50 per water. The price tag is hidden on the decorative tag on the bottle which makes the price tag look like a logo. You'll find this on your account a few days after you check out. You will also find that it takes forever to get your credit card reimbursed and then the managerial staff are very rude and surly when you try to get YOUR money back! Facilities are run down,, noisy, no view. We will NEVER stay there again because EVERYTHING is charged for even when it appears to be complimentary. The heated pool is anything but. Try anywhere else except here, its very low standard for a 4 1/2 star — it should be 2 star.

For what we paid (over $300 a night) it wasn't worth it. The pool area needs some serious work — is looking a little tired. The bathrooms in the main lobby were well below average (no toilet paper and they smelt) and the room itself was pretty basic as too was the television quality and its channel choice. Even though you don't go to Melbourne to watch TV it is nice to have the option if you want to relax for an hour or two! We were kept awake all night by the room upstairs — we could hear all their plumbing basically. If they had shower/ flushed toilet, even turned on a tap we could hear it. Also our toilet always took ages to re fill after use. To top it all off the street noise was really bad. At 10pm there was someone jack hammering below us — we called reception and they managed to stop it — eventually. Great location — but I would not recommend this hotel.
