Awesome hotel, service and location — in the heart of South Yarra.

Used to be a beautiful hotel, but was so disappointed at how shabby and cheap it's become. Was meant to be a luxury staycation, but ther ewas no luxury at all. Damaged furniture, small, noisy, dark and grubby rooms, poor quality toilet paper, dirty bathrooms, a filthy sun deck covered in empty beer bottles and cigarett butts, hardly any shampoo, shower gel or conditioner etc. This is not a five star hotel. 2 stars at best. Hame on you Olsen for charging five star prices. So disappointed!

Loud parties with DJ until 11 pm. Set in the immediate vicinity of over 10, 000 private residential apartments. Totally thought less! Some of us do shifts have babies keeping us up and we can't get any sleep or peace.

Good location near to the shops and train station.

Had a lovely stay over the weekend, nice snd clean hotel comfy beds and spacious bathrooms also.

The best cleanest rooms, pool and over all good and respectful people.

Deluxe from beginning to end with the most comfortable beds and pillows I’ve ever experienced. Super clean and friendly. Fantastic location in South Yarra. Our two bed apartment with terrace was magnificent and extremely well appointed. Only weird thing, not horrible, was wardrobe and drawers for one bedroom were In the lounge?! Not a problem just a mind melt feom
Years of expecting the norm. This did not distract from a wonderful stay.

Terrible experience with checking in and then again when collecting my bag. 20mins to finally find my bag — I missed my UBER and was told “sorry we had your bag under someone else’s name” not good enough.

We’ve stayed here previously and it was lovely.
Hence we decided to book here again — Sadly two years on — this hotel has become very “tired & worn” and the service and cleanliness has also declined considerably with a very stale musty smell in the rooms — you’re expected to pay your stay upfront upon check in (we should have realised then already this would turn into a disappointing experience) — you need to call for someone to actually attend to you checking in as not a soul was in sight and we were stood waiting for what seemed like ages — DONT book a suite over a weekend — unless you’re ok with & willing to be kept awake to the early hours by other rooms hosting parties from their suites with outside visitors bringing in spirit alcohol by the bottle with all the noise, glasses and food dishes being left in corridors as they are “short staffed” — rooms aren’t soundproof btw — to be moved to a smaller room for the same price with a leaky shower that dripped all night long — to be given earplugs — what a horrid experience this visit was. Sadly we won’t be returning or recommending this to anyone again.

Beautiful place to stay with exceptional staff, service and patience for a somewhat frantic Mum and daughter. Stunning views and a stunning room, will most certainly be spoiling my girl for another night or two.

I stayed at The Olsen for a work conference and it was amazing. I travel often for work and have stayed in the numerous hotels, The Olsen is a stand out. Nestled in a great location for dinning and shopping the hotel is impeccable from presentation to service. The food for our conference was not only beautiful in presentation but delicious as well. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. Thank you Brad for “playing along with our team “challenge” as well as all the staff you were such sports, and I’ll never forget your favourite colour is green.

Great art hotel. Super comfy bed, great cafe for breakfast, my second floor room even had a patio.

Absolutely amazing service from all staff at the Olsen hotel. We recently celebrated our beautiful friends hens and staff could not be more accomodating. The apartments were beautiful. I will definitely be back!

arrived to the moment we left the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful atmosphere and stunning art everywhere. Great location and very quick and easy to get into the city. Planning our next visit already!

Asked at reception, what meal can they make quickly? (as I was meeting my family in 30 mins). They said ham & cheese toastie. I say ok cool. 35 minutes later … still no food. On my way out I ask them to cancel the order. They offer a complimentary meal on my return. I get back. Place an order for a pizza. Front desk says he will get it made straight away. 55 minutes later… still no food. So I call them. Sorry, that order was never placed, we will make it for you now. WTF, am I on a “pay no mind” list? (And this was all during a quiet time when not many people would be ordering room service). Pizza arrived 1 hour and 38 minutes later… cold. This hotel is a joke.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. Check in was a breeze, and although it was 8am that was no problem. Our room was all ready for us. Staff were incredibly professional, and the night manager Kurt was very accommodating to our needs. Anything we asked the staff took care of for us. The pool, the food, the drinks, everything was great. And we are very picky! Even at check out the friendly staff offered to take our bags and help. Thank you again will definitely stay again.

Absolutely stunning suite, polite friendly staff and all round fabulous service. Our room wasn't quite ready on arrival so we were offered a free drink in the bar where we waited. Our keys were bought to us and bags transferred to our room while we enjoyed a drink, served by a delightful bar attendant. Great views, and luxurious suite, great attention to detail. We were amused by arriving 'home' to an evacuation in the wee hours of the morning. No idea what had happened, but it was nearly all over so we were lucky not to be too bothered at all. All in all a great stay.

Wedding night ruined! My fiancé and I booked 3 nights at this hotel in the Olsen Penthouse which was to celebrate our wedding night. Soon after booking we were contacted by the hotel and advised that the price which we had booked at was incorrect and they were not going to provide the room at the booked rate. They offered to provide us with a discount on the ‘correct price’. We booked for $750.00 and the discounted rate they offered was $4500.00! My partner and I decided that were really were not comfortable paying such huge difference in price and given so decided to book at Crown. My parents and bridal party followed my lead and also booked their rooms at Crown. When I contacted the Olsen to cancel my booking and was told by the reservations team that ‘off the record, we have to sell you that room at that price, so if you want it for $750.00 just decline the discounted rate and ask for the booked rate to be honoured’ I was quite shocked to have been given this ‘off the record’ information, but decided to follow their advice and did send an email. The following day, I was contacted by the reservations team who had confirmed with the bookings manager that they would honour the original booked rate and were apologetic for the mix up. I received email confirmation and a confirmation booking receipt. Following this, my parents decided to cancel their reservation at Crown and book at the Olsen.

Waited to be seated but 4 staff walked past us without even smiling. Asked for gluten free bread with my eggs benedict and got 2 dry slices of what would better be described as weatherboard with two eggs and a tiny bit of hollandaise (which was actually delicious but they must've been running low because it barely covered the eggs). Asked for a strong coffee but it was like watery percolated rubbish with no sign of crema and when I mentioned it to the waiter he responded with "well the barista said there was 3 shots in there". Not worth the $60 odd for 2 people by any stretch of the imagination. Shame. It used to be so good!
