Beautiful location at the bottom of the Grampians and within 5 minutes walk into town for a delicious ice cream. Lovely surroundings with kangaroos and lots of birds. We loved everything about our stay here and would recommend it to other travellers. So much to see and do with a comfortable bed and hot shower.

Very good place to stay. Enjoyed the location and stay as well.

Hosts were welcoming, rooms were spacey, very clean and had very comfortable beds. Will definatley be returning. Highley recommend.

AMAZING! The gentleman in the office was kind and very accommodating on our impromptu visit. He went above and beyond to cater for our group of adults and truly made our stay a memorable one. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and the heating worked perfectly on a cold wet night. Rooms have bedding and a bathroom with a communal kitchen available. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place with amazing people. Extremely clean and cosy! Even called family and told them that this could be their next holiday destination! If you’re looking for a place at the Grampians this is the place to go!

Wonderful friendly welcome. Perfect room for our needs, super comfy beds and couch, only a short walk into town plus close to the oval to visit the kangaroos!
One of the things we love is the environmentally friendly products and ideas of the motel, something that is important to us.

Fabulous place to stay when in Halls Gap area. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Clean and comfortable basic accommodation.

Cheap and cosy. Great ppl. Stay here every year for the wonderland run.

Great staff. Minimal facilities but you're there to see the national Park. Good rooms that are cold but with heater and electric blankets you'll have a great night's sleep.

This place is okay. Pro — the check in and welcome from the owner was great, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. Good location also. Cons — The rooms are tiny (three adults, very cramped) and the facilities outdated. Absolutely no shower pressure which is really sad, especially after a long day hiking. $12.50 for a breakfast of toast and cereal is also quite a rip off. Tiny TV and mediocre heating. We probably wouldn't stay here again if we came back to Halls Gap.

Very friendly staff. Almost got confused to get such warm welcome and valuable information about the region. I'm not sure how the others would compare in the village as only stayed one night and did not try the other accommodation. Villa might be better quality but this was a good stay for two days shirt visit.

Awesome little hotel, well appointed rooms, very comfortable. An excellent jump off point to walks, waterfalls, parks etc etc. Angeline (just a lovely person) is a fountain of local knowledge and is more than willing to help any way she can to make your stay better. Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed at the Gariwerd motel for two nights over the Australia day weekend. Super hot weather but as soon as we walked in to our room for the first time we felt very refreshed and relieved. Had a few bad experiences lately with motels/airbnb but we definitely made a good choice in the Gariwerd. The room was fresh smelling and very, very clean. Friendly staff who had taken over recently (according to their information folder. And kudos for the funny quips and signs around the motel) and embraced the eco with less bins/miniatures to save the planet. Also loved the native herbs planted around. A/C was great in the room and location was great too. My advice though if you want a little more relaxing and unbroken sleep is to ask for a room away from the kitchenette. We were in room 4 which was right next door and even though there were signs asking to be quiet and not to be there after 10pm, both nights there were people making noise and taking/eating/moving chairs at 1:30 & 3am respectively. Overall it was a great experience and looking for to getting back to Halls Gap.

This place is in a good location, had good aircon and had wine glasses which was good. But the cleanliness was really poor. The shower was really mouldy, there were dead flies throughout the room and under the sink was disgusting. The bed was also really saggy and soft. I definitely would not recommend.

The Motel is simple, but we felt very comfortable. The Owner is nice and helpful and has good Tips for the Tours.

Very nice family-run motel Customer service was satisfactory! The owner tony was passionate, helpful and kind, who helped me so much in route planning. He knows this area so well that he can share lots of very useful advices on hiking. Walking distance to pretty much everything, town center, walking trails and lots of wild life. Wild kangaroo, kookaburra and cockatoo can be seen around the backyard around 7pm. The toilets are sparkly clean and the overall cleanliness is satisfactory. On the down side, the facilities are quite dated. The TV is small and the TV reception is poor (luckily we borrowed some dvd from tony so we were cool with it). In addition, the quilt is a bit smelly which needs to be put under the sun. In overall, the facilities are dated but we were cool with it.

Very spacious room, neat and tidy. Love the shower, like a waterfall. BBQ area is awesome, huge outdoor dining areas for everyone to enjoy. Very strong Wi-Fi signal as well. Highly recommend this place. Love it.

Best place to stay and best customer service close to the town center only 800 meters nice and clean room and have place for bbq on the back of the motel.

I stayed here yesterday, and would come again if have another chance. The room was comfortable, clean and the owner make special arrangement for our late check in. The location is good and you can see kangaroo nearby the motel. The people there were friendly and helpful too. Great value for money and great location, just a short walk from the town shops.

There are a lot of offers (games, kitchen, etc. ) and we felt very comfortable.

Awesome service, nice clean fresh rooms, loved bed coverings and game/DVD hire service. Just a small suggestion l, Our room was number 11 that was name after one of the local waterfalls, would be cool if there was some artwork on the walls of that waterfall as to theme the room. Overall pleasant smooth stay thankyou.

Nice little motel, would stay again and would recommend. Offers a good size room, well equipped, onsite kitchen and BBQ to use, even DVDs to borrow. The only thing we got stuck with was where to leave the room key on an early departure…

We have had a fantastic stay at the Gariwerd motel: the owners are super friendly and full of good advice, the rooms are spacious, clean, tidy, convenient. There is a kitchenette available if you feel like cooking (and once again, it's clean).
It's the little details that make it great (high pressure shower, comfy bed, great pillows, tea and coffee in the room, board games and DVDs available from reception, welcome with a smile, …). As a bonus, you share the garden with wild kangaroos.
We highly recommend the Gariwerd Motel. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Great motel to stay in, run by a family and they were really" friendly locals! Can give you advice on local sceneries and hikes as they have a guide you can borrow. Place was clean, a common kitchenette was useful.

The heater beds make a world difference. Clean rooms.

It's the great service that makes this place stand out from the rest… and the water pressure in the shower! Angeline is such a helpful person. We were checking in after hours, I spoke to her on the phone and she gave me the best route in to town from Melbourne (less kangaroos if you come from Stawell apparently) and turned the heater and electric blankets on ready for our arrival on a cold night.

Nice small motel. While it may be a bit run down, the rooms are pleasant enough, the grounds are great, the location is fantastic and the owner is very friendly.

We stayed here last night and we were very impressed. Very friendly and the room was spotless and very well maintained. We will most definitely stay again and will highly recommend for anyone to stay here. Also had the option of a buffet breakfast that was beautiful and a large assortment to choose from the service was spot on. I will give this place a 10/10. Hopefully next visit can be longer Thanks again for a positive experience.

The Gariwerd was beyond our expectations. We felt two days was not enough with the amazing location and with amazing people, Tony and Angelina. Their hospitality is most appreciated, they made our stay wonderful in all ways, made sure we were comfortable, helped us with the bonfire (did all they can) and celebrated with us as well. The room, service and amenities were good for the price. Would recommend this place for everyone.

The owners couldn't have been nicer, they were absolutely lovely! When my boy friend was poorly during our stay, they really looked after us and even brought honey and lemon to the room! Great rooms, DVDs board games, bbqs, basically everything you could need and in the perfect spot for walking, views and kangaroos. And all for a very good price.

The owner is nice and passion. Rooms are warm and clean. The C/P is very high!

Wonderful place for a family group Had everything we needed with friendly hosts, fantastic bike rides, walks and easy access to shops. We left feeling very refreshed. Highly recommended. xxx.

Had been here during the long weekend. They service and the ambience is pretty good considering the price range and the location of the motel in the heart of Halls Gap.
