Nice place and great atmosphere for a catch up.

Recently stayed 3 nights at The Bischoff, Room 10, stunning view of the waterfalls. Great welcoming, clean, Tassie country pub. Meals were plentiful, best hamburgers in Tassie. The nearby Philosophers Falls walk is a must. Thank you to the team for your hospitality.

I can not recommend the Bischoff Hotel enough. I have family who were in desperate need of some meals during the Covid pandemic, due to an injury, and Liz was so fantastic to deal with. It was no problem for Liz to deliver meals, and she was so trustworthy because payment was only asked for at the end after all meals were delivered.
Thank you Liz, and hubby, for putting mine and my brothers mind at ease knowing our family were looked after.

Had a great Bischoff pie for lunch. Great atmosphere and the most friendly and welcoming staff.

We had a really nice meal here (delicious sticky date pudding), friendly service and good location, a nice stroll from the campground.

Publican was friendly; customer service was excellent, country pub food was great! Will be back again.

A very well run old school hotel in Waratah. Views of the waterfall from some rooms, comfortable beds, good food, nice vibe! we'll be back!

A bit of a hidden gem!
We stopped here to escape rain and snow for the night and were pleasantly surprised. Our room was modern and recently refurbished. Very comfy and warm. Surprisingly not noisy for a pub.
It was Friday pizza night which we enjoyed (there were actually vegetarian options! ) with the Tasmanian whisky stocked there.
The staff couldn't be more accommodating of our 3yo too.

Great country pub with amazing atmoshphere and amentities. Owner was more than accommodating and food and drinks were wonderful.

Had fish and chips and breakfast here they do a wonderful job. Not normally a breakfast person but this was spot on.

Great little pub at the middle of no where, Ingrid was lovely with beautiful smile and fantastic service and food was great. Having the warmth of that open log fire was just what we needed in this cold rainy day.

A little run down, has the charm of a small Aussie town pub. The pricing on the food is quite reasonable, four beers on tap. Also operating as a bottle shop for the town. Staff were friendly albeit not very engaging.

Had evening meal here Sunday night. Very enjoyable. The beer was cold, the fire was warm. The young lady serving was very pleasant and friendly. Meals were good old counter style meals at counter meal prices. The patrons were friendly and talkative, including us in their conversations and sharing information and history on this wonderful old mining town. Felt like I was in my local. Thanks.

Stopped in for a drink what a classic old pub loved it and it has a water fall view across the road.

Have been in Waratah for the long weekend at the Thorne Family Reunion. Ate at the hotel twice plus they catered for the Reunion dinner at the hall. Food was great with good sized serves and value for money. The staff friendly and they coped so well the large number of people around this weekend. The small town atmosphere was special. Highly recommend.

Love the tassie beer and cider on offer and the warmth of the accomodation.

The food was amazing and not expensive. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to return there again. Was there for an 8ball Calcutta and had so much fun. It was just like being at my home pub. Thanks girls, you sure have the capability to make this pub a huge success if yesterday is anything to go by. Lovely Waratah folk included. :)

The best place to stay in Waratha!

Enjoyed a wonderful 'Christmas in July' Dinner with the family. Food was top quality, plates were heaped high and the service was friendly and prompt. Cannot wait to go back again for another great value meal and fantastic atmosphere. Worth the 45 minute drive. Thank you!

The owner helped me and my friends out when we were stuck there with no fuel in the middle of the night. She was our saviour and we owe her big time!

The 5 stars should be sufficient. However, great place, great location, great people, beautiful hotel and hospitality and my wife and I had the front ground floor room overlooking the waterfall. The township doesn't look like it has much to offer, until you go out there exploring. An absolutely interesting location and its people. Well worth a visit!

Location is unique, not only with the tin mine and being in the heart of the Tarkine but… as the locals at the bar accurately note, 'how many small towns have a giant waterfall in the middle of it! ' Service from staff (one lady in particular) spoilt the charm when she loudly and repeatedly complained and swore about customers and having to work hard on a public holiday. If you have a tent you might be better off at the caravan park.

Come and experience the true serenity :).

Does the job. Adequate accommodation on top of a pub serving decent food. In the grander scheme of things, not the finest place — but definitely does the job for folks driving 'round that area of Tasmania. (Be aware that you'll probably not find another place to eat for fifty-odd miles, so if you're staying it's easiest to stroll downstairs for dinner. ).

Lovely place with a direct view of the main street waterfall. Owners are great to chat with and the owners wife makes an awesome omelette for breakfast.
