It is so quite and relaxing just sitting outside watching the bird life going about their day. There is nice low key walking around the area. Friendly locals. I highly recommend to stay there you will be surprised.

What a great place to getaway for a break! Shelley was so helpful in booking this little gem! Comfy bed, fantastic water views, very clean, nothing forgotten for your stay, short or long. I found it a great base for sightseeing this beautiful area.

I had a lovely stay at Pelican Sands recently
the unit I stayed in had a superb beach view. The beds were very comfortable and it was so nice to have Netflix in the evenings
If you want somewhere lovely to stay that’s quiet and affordable I recommend Pelican Sands Scamander.

Great room & great view. The beach is a short stroll from the grass. They have laundry facilities to use and kitchette in room. Comfortable lounge to view the good size TV from. We had room 2.

Great place to stay. Wonderful location, clean apartments, Shelley is an amazing lady. Can’t beat this place for an East Coast getaway!

I absolutely recommend this place because it really does feel like at your own beach house! There is no checkin & checkout, which just makes it feel like home. We stayed there for 3 days and planned a birthday surprise for a friend and Shelley just so supportive and helpful. The view is stunning, we watched sunrise from the bedroom, had a delicious bbq out in the yard, then played games on the soft lawn at the back and jump into the water to cool off. It has just everything we need for a birthday holiday. Oh and previous National pizza-making champion from cafe next door gave me a free coffee and a nice chat and spoke highly of Shelley. It is just perfect! Highly recommend!

I visited Pelican Sands a few days ago and it was absolutely perfect for my partner and I we loved every minute of our stay, we stayed in the deluxe spa room. The view from our deck was picture perfect. The walks along the beach were just as good.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back in the summer time.

My family and I absolutely love staying here! Beautiful place. Quiet, spacious, friendly staff, waking up to the sounds of the waves crashing, all night fishing, rooms are amazing! Ohh the list could go and on! Already preparing our next visit.

Stayed with a group of friends in the lovely 4 bedroom house for 2nights. Great stay. Lovely staff very friendly. More than enough room for all 5 people. House very clean and the beds were great, very comfy. Walking distance to everything we needed for our stay. Big deck facing the water was lovely sitting on the having a glass of wine and enjoying the views. We will all definitely be back. Thank you so much guys we had a great time.

We had an ok stay in the large house (4 bedrooms it was advertised but when we arrived one was locked and the other was in usable due to it being absolutely freezing and no heating in that area. Bedroom arrangements were not right for one couple two singles and a 3yearold. My mother and son had to sleep on the couches! Spa bath was filthy, front door hard to lock on departure. The worst part of our whole experience at Pelican Sands was seeing that close to a month later a further $40 was taken from my account with out my permission. Contacted the Manager and was told someone called me to say about the extra money being taken out (I had no call or voicemail from them) and was told that it was a cleaning fee as the cleaner took longer to normally clean so we were charged. We got told that we left dishes around the house, microwave explosion, kitchen was a mess and a nail polish mark on the couch! also the dishes had to be done again because the dishwasher must not have worked well and our stuff was still dirty. I was so angry that we were blamed for the "mess" I know for sure the place was left tidy and no one spilt anything on the couch or even used the microwave. I have suggested to them to either charge the cleaning fee in the total fee or get someone to clean a bit faster. A one night stay and all I can say is we should have taken our buisness elsewhere. Also no reception staff on site so if something goes wrong your on your own.

What a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. My partner and I needed some much needed time away. Staying here was absolutely perfect. We had the double spa unit, complimentary brekkie and my gosh it was very relaxing, waking up with the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, having breakfast out on the deck watching the pelicans and some great little spots to do some fishing. Thank you for having us Shelley.

Great beach spot! Clean, tidy spacious self contained unit with lovely water view and only a few steps to the beach. Very comfy queen bed and well coordinated practical decor. Owner Shelley has a sense of humor, thanks for the nuts.

We had the best time at Pelican Sands. Accommodation was great and the location was amazing. Host was very kind and helpful. Looking forward to going back.

It was an absolute lovely place to stay would definitely stay again.

Stayed at this place in February 2018. Photos used for marketing showed a swimming pool, play ground and restaurant. On arrival we found out the pool had been filled in 2 years earlier, play ground had parts that were unusable but not safely fenced off from children, mould spots on the ceiling in the bathroom over the shower BUT the biggest issue I had was that the smoke alarm was expired in 2006 being 12 years past it’s safe expiry date so would most likely not have worked effectively if there had been a fire. The owner my husband spoke to was rude and dismissive so we cancelled the second night of our 2 night stay. Would have cancelled both but we couldn’t afford to loose $170.

What a delightful brand new restaurant by the name Grazers in beautiful Scamander, wonderful service and wonderful staff, I enjoyed my delicious meal with a glass of red wine, I would certainly recommend this gem to my friends and family when they come to visit beautiful Scamander, Tasmania.

I am the owner/operator of this property and take this opportunity to respond to the "review". We make every effort to please each and every guest we welcome to our property. I am not sure what to say to this review, other than it is not accurate in it's content. The weather at the time was terrible, raining with a gale force wind warning and a "SE buster" blowing, yes the windows probably did rattle in these conditions. The photos on the website are of the actual rooms, I am not sure how better to represent what we offer. The rooms have been recently refurbished a a high standard, are fully self contained with new kitchens and bathrooms and are clean definately clean, I should know as I clean them myself. We do our own laundry on site and I even iron the sheets. The rooms face the water, providing direct access from the front lawn of the property onto the sand — allyway — what allyway. The property is directly on the waterfront and as such is exposed to the elements. This guest did not see Scamander at it's best due to the weather. He did approach us and ask for a refund, but could not or would not give a reason other than his wife did not like it. Had there been a genuine reason, we would have not hesitated. Our property was fully booked at the time and this guest was the only one who had a negative comment.

This place was a dump. Nothing like the website at all. It is a concrete block, reminiscent of old Butlins chalets. The room was not clean, the sofa was full of stains, and the wind was howling through the windows. There is no direct beach access from the room, you have to walk around the car park and through an allyway. I asked for my money back and the owner refused claiming there was nothing wrong with the room, on being challenged, claimed " I am more at the backpackers end of the market". Which is not what I booked. This was the only dissapointment in 11 different places we stayed. We moved to the Tidal Waters Hotel in St. Helens — same price, ten times better.
