Enjoyed our stay on Brickendon estate. Cottage was very comfortable. Lovely quiet location. Enjoyed wandering around historic buildings in the evening.

We really enjoyed our stay at Brickendon. The fridge and pantry were well stocked with all requirements for a hearty breakfast. The cute cabin (Peas in a Pod) was lovely. Plenty of room and character. It was lovely having breakie and looking out at the farm. An added bonus was to be able to walk through the historic buildings and also walk to Woolmer Estate. Would definintely recommend.

Loved the whole Brickendon Estate visit, especially walking around the gardens. We stayed in the Gardeners Cottage and it was just lovely. The little book telling the cottages life story is brilliant.

Staying in a 200 year old cottage was a dream of mine and it didn't disappoint. The cottage was quaint and peaceful and a beautiful insight to how people lived back then. The view out to the garden was beautiful. We were provided with fresh milk and juice, fresh eggs, bread and cereals. I absolutely loved it.

A really lovely retreat space. Such an unexpected treasure trove of history. Well put together. And generous to allow you to wander through the grounds and gardens.

We spent one night in Sweetcorn cottage with my elderly parents (an 80th birthday trip for Dad) two adult children & myself. Beds were very comfortable, very generous breakfast supplies laid on including farm fresh eggs, fruit, cereal, bread, butter, milk & orange juice. We were met at the back door by a gaggle of ducks in the morning. Went for a beautifully peaceful walk down to the river then around the Heritage gardens. Just stunning. Wish we’d had more time to tour Woolmer as well.

With privacy and quiet assured, your stay at ' Pea in a Pod' has you feeling a part of the rural landscape and momentarily lord or lady of all you survey. With lambs, ducks, fluffy headed chickens, posturing Thanksgiving dinner AKA turkeys, birdlife and much more along with a fascinating history of the Archer generations and convict era to discover, this is a spot only minutes into historic Longford, better appreciated with a stay of more than one day.
The private residence garden, only open on set days, is alone worth the admission fee of $20 for non-staying guests.
You can walk through the Brickendon paddocks to the adjoining Woolmer Estate where the other Archers once lived.
With the airport a quick drive away, what more could a traveller wish for?

A wonderful stay in an historic cottage that was so peaceful and comfortable. Magnificent gardens, the farm animals and abundant birdlife added to the experience. The cottage was very well equipped and warm and cosy. Breakfast provisions were generous. Would love to have stayed longer.

This was our second stay. We love coming. It is perfect for us when we only have time for one night's stay before returning to Devonport to catch the boat back to the mainland.
We arrive in the dark for late check in and wake up in the morning to gorgeous garden views in the historic estate. They supply generous breakfast ingredients including fresh eggs from the hooks.
There is no rush to leave in the morning and we join in for the morning feeding rounds of the lambs and calf.
It is a draw card for an animal lover.

Our family stayed overnight in one of the cottages. The whole experience was awesome. We explored the convict village and the boys helped bottle feed some lambs in the afternoon. The host was really friendly and warm. The cottage we stayed in was delightful. It was clean and neat, and the breakfast supplies included blue eggs from some of the chickens on the estate. I would highly recommend a visit or a stay here.

Very cool to stay in world heritage listed accomodation. The kids loved feedign the chooks, ducks, pigs, lambs and baby calves!

A wonderful experience of stepping back into a bygone era but with modern comforts. We encountered a small inconvenience which was rectified quickly. Very helpful and friendly staff.

A most enjoyable one-night stay in 'Pea in a Pod' Cottage on Brickendon Estate. Smooth check in process, beautiful environment, really clean and comfortable cottage, breakfast options with freshly laid eggs was a nice touch. Morning view over the misty paddocks listening to the farm animals was divine… The history of the estate is amazing… Highly recommended.

We (Mum and two now young-adult children) have been coming to Brickendon for about 13 years and it's our happy place. We always love seeing the animals, walking to the river and through the fields and just relaxing. It is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy life at a different pace. The owners and staff are always wonderfully welcoming, kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the Gardeners Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this UNESCO heritage site. The self contained unit had all the amenities one would need, including lots of fire wood. 😅
