Curringa Farm

Our stay was in Wombat’s Den which was two bedroom accommodation, not that we needed the second bedroom for two people, but we loved having the space and feeling like we were in a ‘house’ rather than a small holiday cabin.  
We were sorry not to see the water from our deck, which we had thought we would, from the description provided, but we felt treated to a beautiful outlook nonetheless. If you can’t see the water from your accommodation either, it’s well worth going for a walk down to the water’s edge — it’s just beautiful.  
Overall we’d say our stay was warm, comfortable, private, VERY peaceful and topped off with a lovely deep bath!
Catering wise, there is all you could want/need in the kitchen and the food provided/ordered in advance was generous home style cooking at its very best — we loved every mouthful of everything …. Including the apple crumble that we were still devouring for breakfast on our departure morning, out on the deck, soaking up the birdsong!
When not asleep, the short periods we were on site at Wombat’s Den (we were off in Mt Field National Park each day) were mostly just out chilling/drinking/bbq cooking/colour-change-watching out on the deck…. Just typing this glowing review makes me feel so relaxed thinking back to our time there!

My family booked this is May, this is my favourite experience in Tasmania.
From the roaming chickens to the starry night skies and to the farm tour, it was a very interesting experience. Glad to be able to enjoy it, thank you Jane for bringing us on the tour and teaching us about the farm!

We joined the farm tour at 9:45 to 12:30pm.
Tim is the greatest farmer and tour guide! He is the 7th generation of the farming family. He gave a great tour with his passion of farming. We enjoyed his sharing on planting the seeds, dog demonstration and shearing work! We love the shepherd dog s Billy and Rocky. Greatest farm tour ever! By the way, this is my second to be here to bring family to visit curringa farm.
Incredibly, Tim knows some Chinese words and makes sure that all of us could understand his sharing on farming. 🤣

AMAZING farm tour! This farm is a REAL operating farm and the owner Tim is the 6th generation, he’s so knowledgeable about everything! My family and myself enjoyed every stop from the Scottish cow, to the insanely beautiful FOREST (where we spotted 4 wallabies🥰), and the sheep dog at work (forming a lovely circle so we can take great pics with them). It’s a MUST GO spot and I’ve already recommended a friend who’s in Tasmania to book with them within this week :) highly recommend! thank you Locky and Billy (for being the greatest companion during the whole two hours tour). Thank you Peppy for the yummy handmade scones and lemon 🍋 drinks! The handmade raspberry jam is YUM too! Next time when I’m back, I would love to trying staying at the farm!

Jane and Tim were awesome hosts! I loved Tim’s passion — his tour was incredibly engaging and we learned so many interesting things. The long drive to the farm was scenic and definitely added to the experience. And their scones, jam, and cream were absolutely delicious!
Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun, informative, and authentic farm experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Curringa farm. We stayed one night on the way to Hobart. We were so impressed. It was a great experience. The front of house lady at reception, Jane, was so personable. We loved how there were loads of goats around the farm happily eating grass. We felt that the cabin was perfect. We will be back! Thank you.

Staying at Curringa Farm for us had the wow factor. The cabin was immaculate and walking in the views are stunning. If you like to get away from it all this is the place. We also paid for a bbq dinner package and it was really tasty including a homemade apple crumble. We just wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful rooms and location with very friendly and helpful staff. Our only regret is only booking for 1 night as stop over accommodation and not staying at least 2 nights. Definitely next time!

We had a wonderful family stay at Curringa Farm in Tasmania! Our family with 4 children stayed at the beautiful Curringa Cottage, which offered stunning views of the lake and a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Sophie was warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable, guiding us through the farm tours, feeding Scottish highland cows, watching Billy dog round up the sheeps. Tim was friendly and a great host, our kids absolutely loved learning about sheep shearing! We especially enjoyed the evening BBQs in our own cottage and Jane’s delicious homemade scones. Our stay feel so homely and special. Our two nights here were memorable from start to finish, and the children were genuinely sad to leave. We’ll definitely be back again.

One of the best places to stay in tasmania! The farm tour was great and everyone was sosoossoososo friendly (●’◡’●) ﾉ. The cottage that I stayed at with my family was spacious and comfortable with it being right next to honey the horse! The twin bed bedroom also faced where the sheep would roam around :D Overall this was just such a relaxing getaway :)
P. S,, ask for cards they’re the best card game to play with family. (also look for the dogs too they’re super friendly)
Extra… NIGHT DRIVE TO LOOK FOR WALABIES AND OTHER ANIMALS.

Curringa Farm offers a warm, authentic glimpse into Tasmanian farm life. The guided tours are engaging, the scenery is stunning, and the hosts are genuinely welcoming. Watching the sheepdog demonstrations and exploring the vast property made the visit memorable. A peaceful, charming destination perfect for nature lovers and families seeking a unique experience.

Definitely exceeded our expectations. Such a peaceful and quite spot. Cabin is really 5 stars from the bedding and bathrooms to the kitchen which is stocked with plenty of provisions and cutlery. Went on the forest walk down to the river, plenty of wildlife around.

Join the morning farm tour led by Sophie and the 2 cutest dogs ever. We got to feed the highland cows, witnessed Tim shaving a sheep, and watched Billy gathering sheeps while Lockie (think I’m spelling his name wrong) is doing on-the-job training. At last we enjoyed scones and coffee back at the house. Thanks Tim, Jane, Sophie and the doggies for the great time!

This is a must-stay place in Tasmania, especially if you are on a round island road trip. I booked this place for my stopover between Cradle Mountain and Hobart. It was my most memorable stay in Tasmania. A place so close to nature and animals (sheep, alpacas and bulls).
I arrived late in the evening from Cradle Mountain. The owner, Jane, was very kind to provide comprehensive details guiding me to my 2-bedroom cottage in the dark. The cottage was clean and spacious. Bathroom with bathtub and rain shower. Rice, corn flakes, pasta, granola as well as a bottle of fresh milk were provided in the kitchen. Interestingly, coffee machine and capsules were also available in the cottage. Complete kitchen utensils and cookware make cooking easy in the cottage.
The small letdown is unavailability of Wi-Fi in the cottage.

Absolutely spectacular. We stayed in the Wombat's Den — completely renovated, open windows looking out on the rolling hills, enough space for my partner, toddler and I. We ordered breakfast on both days and the bbq pack, which was delicious. Highly recommended.

What an amazing stay in delightful cabin with the most amazing views over beautiful farm land with grazing lambs.
Jane our host provided up with all the provisions for a very good cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs and homemade sourdough bread.
A very special place to stay.

We have been to this beautiful and calm place on the occasion of our wedding anniversary along with our children of two families. We all enjoyed the hospitality of the owners. Children discovered many things about the farming and animals and they really enjoyed the farm trip. The experience was memorable. Thank you.
