The most wonderful place to stay — great facilities, beautifully renovated, lovely view and short wandering to stunning beach.

You can watch Little penguin parade at night. I missed the right moment because of the post 'Private'. If you are a guest, you are allowed to enter the place.

Great location with access to a pristine beach. Didn’t get to see penguins but enjoyed the views. Very well equipped rooms also!

Great location. It is your typical older styler beach accommodation which inside, could do with a little sprucing up. Paint peeling off the bathroom roof is not cool. That aside, this is just what you need to go out on day trips and see the penguins!

We stayed in unit 3 in september had an unpleasant odour needs a cleanup outside and a reno inside would be classed as an older one bedroom flat not comparable to a good priced motel or hotel at $165.00. What you get is somewhere to sleep and shower very basic save your money and look elswhere major disapointment.

It is a surprise for us for the whole trip. The unit is located in a great place by the beach. The owner is also extremely helpful to share the local information and knowledge with travellers. This hotel will be our go-to accommodation when we come back to Tassie for holiday again.

We got the Wombat unit. Very spacious and cosy. Beautiful view. Close to Bicheno centre. Price was great too. Communication very well with codes and what I would need to do. And the place is owned which I didn't know by Shane Gould. Highly recommend.

I loved this place. You get the best of both worlds — country and seaside views. From the moment we arrived at this gorgeous beach shack overlooking a paddock of sheep with it’s uninterrupted views of Diamond Island to the private track that led us to the beach to enjoy a walk on low tide to the island. It’s just homely and picturesque.

Thankyou so much for our lovely stay. Unfortunately it was only 1 night. Would have loved to have stayed longer. The magpie unit 3 was all we needed. It is spotlessly clean, has a washing machine/dryer which was great for us and plenty of tea and coffee and all cooking facilities that you need. The view is amazing. The sheep were just a bonus. A short 5 minute walk to the beach which we had to ourselves. Will definitely be back.

We were 4 couples coming from Victoria primarily for the Devil Of A Swim event. We booked the 3 units for 4 couples for 4 nights. We had a wonderful time. The location and the views are to die for. Every morning we would wake to a wonderful sunrise over the paddocks, Diamond Island and the ocean. We swam (coming from Victoria used to cold waters), walked to The Gulch and swam in Waubs Bay among other activities. A good 1 1/2 k walk or a 5 minutes drive from Bicheno township. Freycinet and Wineglass Bay walks a must as is having a drink and lunch at Devil's Corner and many other fine wineries in close proximity. Great cafes and coffees in town and don't miss The Farm Shed for all things local including wines. A great place to stay and explore all the east coast of Tasmania has to offer. Shane was incredibly helpful. The swims through the kelp gutters unforgettable. We will be back again for next years Devil Swim-if not sooner.
