Went to stay here with a voucher I was gifted, upon arrival walking into the reception area we noticed an awful strong smell we walked upto reception and the lady wasn't overly friendly she had a diffuser going on the desk (that you could not smell due to the horrible overpowering smell) she gave me the key to room number 1 upon walking in the room the same awful smell was there plus the strong smell of mould. This was so irritating that my skin flared up and caused an allergic reaction. I dialled 9 for reception and let her know that we couldn't stay in the room and we needed a refund she said she would be down soon and that she was on the phone to someone else after waiting 15 mins and still no one we walked to reception she was sitting at the desk not on the phone no one in line… Again it was mentioned about the smell the mould and the dust and bugs in the window seal and bed head she said I have room 29 but no spa if you would like to check that out I give the benefit of the doubt and go check it out and again the same awful smell and mould and bugs and rust on furniture it was horrible. So we returned the key and said sorry its the same and im happy for you to keep a fee if you must however the rest to be refunded please. She said I will need to speak to someone about what to do I asked if she was the receptionist or owner and SHE IS THE OWNER!

Perfect spot to stay on a budget. Everything was amazing, and the pool was a beautiful touch to enjoy after a day of winery hopping! Staff went above and beyond to accommodate everything we needed.

This motel is on a fantastic location, but it is very much in need of a revamp.
We upgraded to a superior room — it was not worth the extra money.
Please also be aware that if you stay more than one night there is no daily housekeeping (there is a small sign behind a vase at reception indicating this, but it is not mentioned when you book or check in).
Despite advertising Foxtel this is also no longer available.

We stayed here for two nights, absolutely friendly staff, comfortable rooms — just lovely, no complaints from us — we will be back.

Beautiful rooms quiet and clean great service.

What a beautiful gem of a place. Loved it. From the beautiful drive way up to the beautiful comfortable bed and very clean bright room. Spa bath was a bonus. Janis (sorry if that's not how you spell it) who met us at reception with a beautiful smile and a chat. Feeding the alpaca was wonderful. Only disappointment was were only there for one night. We will be back for sure.

A great place to have our quilting retreat. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, my room was good nice and quiet.

The rooms are great, but if you want great… no I mean awesome food the restaurant does great meals.
But the service is out of this world, Annie and Leslie are fantastic. Friendly, professional and down to earth.
Recommend this place? You bet

We were pleasantly surprised the room was fresh and clean, the views from our room were brilliant absolutely recomend this motel for the peace and quiet.

My husband and I (newly married) had a great night here last night.
Drinks, dinner, dancing and fun with the other guests and locals. When we checked in we were greeted by a very friendly girl, who also upgraded our room. Jodie from the bar was delightful. The owners, and their georgous dog were lovely. And the entertainment in the bar was exceptional.
Lovely peacful surroundings too.
We will be back.

Good country motel. Room service wasn't great and got my order wrong. Loud wall heater kept my up most of the night but it was essential as it was — 4 overnight. Apart from that it was clean and tidy.

Absolutely top class motel accommodation. Very clean spacious room and well appointed. Nil traffic noise. Highly reccommend having the full cooked breakfast which was excellent value.

The staff here are excellent. Rooms are reasonably priced, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant has a very good menu that changes with the seasons. Bookings are essential tho. I have been here alot of times from interstate both for work and holidays and is always my go to. I have never been disappointed.

Love this place, great service, staff, the restaurant food was amazing. Beds were so warm and comfy and hot water so quickly. Definitely recommend this place to stay and by the looks of the grounds it would be ideal all year round.

Nice. AC not effective in the kitchen area though. Needs to be where you sleep.

Been so many times and it just gets better. Lovely people and cozy rooms, it's the best place to stay.

Stop in our trip around Aus with two dogs. Our wedding anniversary on 29 Feb so we parked our motorhome and spent 4 days in a pet friendly room at this very good motel. Our dogs had a great time with resident dog Ted. The motel is well located, not far out of town and on the road to all major wineries. The extra room fee for a dog of $25 a night is perhaps a little high given the carpets werent vacuumed of dog hair each day — a standard fee per booking rather than per night seems fairer if theres not going to be a daily cleanup. There was a daily change of towels and bed linen and the room was immaculate when we arrived so theres obviously a good clean up between tennants.

Excellent motel … location — staff — dinner was delicious and breakfast outstanding… would recommend … rooms well appointed and clean.

Nice friendly place to stay on the footsteps of the Clare Valley. Hotel is equipped with a nice cozy restaurant with open fire for the winter chill. Nice quiet place and a great place to unwind. Looking forward to staying there again.

The clare valley motel was clean and the staff friendly. The beds very comfortable. The pool was perfect ending for a hot day.

Just out from the town and far back off the road to give that quiet relaxing time required after a trip. Rooms are clean, tidy and well serviced. Dinner was just awesome and great service. Will recommend.

Great service, staff build a fire for us in the outdoor area by the pool, great setting to enjoy some local stout and delicious curry from the Caltex service station 500m down the road.

Love it here, so beautiful. Nice pool and bbq area. Love the big spa bath in the room it was so good to relx in. Very friendly staff. I recomend you have dinner there too. We had an amazing dinner by the fire.

Awesome value for the money however it is very dark outside at night once the outside lights are turned off, would be nice to have some permanent lighting at night i. E. Solar lights. Service and rooms were excellent as is location.

The best sea food gravy in the world. Had it on a top steak. Gravy a meal on its own.

All the comforts of home. Restaurant lovely and cosy with a big open fire. Very helpful staff who have lots of local knowledge. Rooms well serviced. Our 3rd visit, ideal for a mini break. We'll be back.

Beautiful motel. Great restaurant with delicious food. Loved the buffet breakfast. Only disappointment was not being able to turn off the outside light. When we returned from dinner we found our front door covered in bugs and beetles. Impossible to enter the room without letting half of them in. We also had to place a rolled up towel behind the door at night to try and stop them from crawling under and getting to the TV. Great location. Close to the main street and everyone in reception were lovely and helpful. I think we will return in the cooler weather and hope there are not as many bugs!

We have stayed here nearly every year for past ten for my birthday and have always found it friendly, clean, stylish and comfy. We stayed for my 50th yesterday and it was a lovely time. We stay in King size bed (so crisp and comfy) with large spa bath (the real type not just a bubbly bath) it fits two easily. We had tea in the garden watching sunset. Made even more special by a surprise birthday treat by the staff which touched me greatly Thankyou.

Stayed at the Clare Valley Motel for 1 night in the Queen Twin room. We drove there and was welcomed by a really grand driveway which will take you directly to the main reception area! Clare Valley Motel was situated on top of a small hill. Loved how spacious the room was with lots of natural light coming through. The decor of the room was also really nice with pretty paintings of flowers which gave the room a splash of colour! It was also clean and cosy! The bathroom was really big. Our room were fully with the below which made our stay comfortable:

Front desk staff Fran was awesome! She was super helpful which made us feel super welcomed! She also provided us with really good information on what we could do in the Clare Valley and places to dine which we took! I must say they are fantastic recommendations. We also tried the room service during dinner time. Food arrived with half an hour of when the order was placed. The food was prepared well and still served hot!

Stayed here for a few nights just after Christmas 2015. It's well located and fairly priced, but you'll find nicer accommodation nearby for the same price. The bed was comfy but otherwise the room basic, although very suitable.

I was a little uncertain as I rolled up to the Clare Valley Motel but the manager was a really friendly bloke and when I walked into the room I was blown away by how well it presented. Had the lamb shanks in their restaurant for dinner which I loved and of course they had some great wines to choose from! Would happily stay here again for a night or two in lovely Clare.

The atmosphere was great, the friendly staff, rooms clean and beds very comfortable. Highly recommend.

We had a very pleasant stay here. Lee and Jan (owners) are very humble and friendly. Cooked breakfasts are to die for. A++.
