Went out for a girls night last night. Rayne, front of house excelled in making us feel welcomed and pampered. Food and service was superb. Can’t wait to go back.

Lots of variety of foods to choose and its very delicious. The staff are friendly and the environment are very relaxing.

I highly recommend the menu and food at the hotel grand chancellor. Myself and family went there for Christmas dinner the food was amazing! and the service was very good! Thank-you to the team at grand chancellor.

I highly recommend staying at the Grand Chancellor Hotel, friendly and professional staff, perfect location and the room was cleaned to my high standard. This is the second time staying here and we will continue to do so when we come to Townsville.

Stayed last week and just loved the service, value for money and amenities. As a family of 4 it's not always affordable to stay in the city for 2 days but the deal we had included an amazing breakfast! So happy we got to stay here and will definitely be back.

Took my husband and dad on Father’s Day with the family. WOW what an amazing buffet with fantastic friendly service! Totally recommend you will not be disappointed. Have told a lot of people about our experience, word of mouth is everything in a small town. So good we booking in again this month with other family member to celebrate a birthday 😊 thanks Hotel Grand Chancellor!

We were lucky enough to win a $100 voucher and test out the new menu. OMG! The menu offers a choice of 2 or 3 course specials and each dish we chose was perfectly executed. As I am gluten intolerant, the choice of menu options was great. Thank you for a lovely meal, nice atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. We will be back.

We stayed at your hotel on Friday & Saturday night. Our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From check in to check out every single person we dealt with at the hotel was so friendly & helpful. When we needed an extra towel it was at our room in 2 minutes. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a really good variety & the staff again were very friendly & helpful. Our room was a good size & was nice & clean.
I would highly recommend your hotel & will happily staff there next time we visit.

Certainly not to anyone who needs wheelchair accessibility. Room doors are way too heavy and not wide enough to comfortably drive through for a standard electric wheelchair. Bathroom while having hand rails and a shower seat was tight to move around in and had absolutely no storage not even for your toothbrush and toothpaste let alone make-up etc. Hanging space for two people on holidays is inadequate. The lifts are small and only just big enough for one wheelchair. The laundry facilities are OK but accessibility worse than the rooms. Staff don't offer a service unless you ask specifically. So no customer service as I would expect paying a reasonable price and staying 5 nights. I did check before booking and was told the room was accessible including asking about doorways this was wrong I realised when I arrived and had paid including a deposit in full.

Room rate, nice clean room in 9nt floor, good view, close to CBD good food.

staff all looked genuinely happy to be there & helpful. Dinner was out of our comfort zone but absolutely loved it! breakfast was amazing, heaps of choices. Will definitely be back again for date night.

We will definitely be coming back. Customer service was great, very friendly and helpful, room was just what we needed and neat and tidy. Got to have breakfast at the restaurant on Saturday morning and food was yummy and staff went above and beyond to help us.

We arrived at about 6.30pm last Saturday evening and checked in. We tried to park our 4wd in the car park but the ceiling was too low so we parked on the street. We went to the room and found that the toilet was stained and had not been cleaned.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your hotel and your staff are so lovely and friendly, very quick service too! thank you so much.

We had my brothers 21st in the function room and I can’t recommend this place highly enough! From the initial enquiry Kiani was extremely helpful, there were quite a few restrictions at this time but they still helped where they could. On the evening of the party, I arrived early to decorate & the staff were so accommodating! No request was too much hassle and the entire night went so smoothly thanks to them. The function room itself was beautiful also!
We had booked accomodation with the venue hire for a few of our guest and the rooms were great value

Lovely place to stay once again the room service was excellent. Went away in March for a night for Hubby's late birthday and even though we are Townsville locals this has been our local place to go since booking for our wedding night in 2017. Staff are always friendly and the food is always excellent so who needs to go out.
Atmosphere may be a little too relaxing on a break from the 2 children we have that we are now expecting our third. I'm sure we will be back sometime in the near future as this year has been crazy and who doesn't need a break from cooking and cleaning?

Just returned from another stay at Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville, we stay here once a year when visiting from Brisbane to attend a NQ Cowboys game. The staff are always lovely and very helpful. Checkin was very smooth and we were lucky enough to get an early checkin as we arrived into town early. We also used the parking facilities at the hotel which was $15 a night and very easy to access. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with great views. The location of the hotel is it’s biggest attraction, very close to many bars and restaurants, pharmacy and grocery store. We love staying at Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville and would highly recommend to anyone.

Do not recommend! They do not advertise that they didn’t allow 4 people to a twin double room. We booked for 2 couples but they understood it as two people and pulled us up at 11:30 at night saying it’s not okay and had to book and extra room because it wasn’t okay to sleep 4 people in a room with 2 double beds.

Great hotel with friendly staff and stunning views from all sides, excellent place to stay in the CBD if visiting for pleasure aka casino, clubs and beachside escapades or if visiting for business. Townsville is a fantastic city with many events on and this hotel is a prime location to stay.

Very comfortable rooms, great outlook, staff at reception and the restaurant very friendly, helpful and happy.
The only thing that might’ve been improved was they put through a charge of approx $100 for any incidentals etc — I don’t have a problem with it, but the receptionist could have told me it would happen. It does get refunded but takes up to 3 working days.

Great location in the central Townsville opposite the Cowboys club, good sized clean modern rooms with a comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff, our favorite place to stay when visiting Townsville.

Enjoyed the buffet breakfast this morning. I've been a few times now when I stay with you guys and the breaky is always amazing, as is the quality of the rooms. Staff are always helpful and greet you nicely. One if my fav places in townsville to stay.

Our flight was cancelled @ 12.45 am placed at Hotel Grand Chancellor @ 2 am overnight. Very welcoming and understanding reception staff. Great rooms with view of river and locality. Buffet breakfast very adequate. Very pleasant place.

Balcony’s are so close together I accidentally kicked my lighter off with a case on it and reported to staff that morning, they said they will look into it. The day after I wake up check it’s still in the same place I go to reception staff to check up with what the go is, they say they will call the people in that room And try to get it back I leave it at that and return the next day and the staff at reception have changed and didn’t even know anything about it so left the message with them go back to the room and see it’s now missing so I wait and return to reception the next day to ask if someone handed it in and apparently the cleaners that went in didn’t find anything. So annoyed that this has happened either the people in that room stole it or the staff.

Be careful, this hotel adds a $40 charge per extra person in a room. This even applies if it’s a room that sleeps more than two people as standard. A room with two doubles will cost you an extra $80 per night if you want to fully use it. Apparently this is to cover the extra towels and amenities provided! Very expensive towels and “free” shampoo! Total scam …

Good basic room. Very clean and comfortable but the mattress was old and the dents from other visitors was pretty noticeable on the right side of the bed. Front desk staff where very helpful when I left my key card in my room and brought another one up right away. No mini bar but in room tea and coffee, free Wi-Fi was also pretty good with ok speeds. View was amazing and definitely the best part of my stay. I would come back for sure.

Hotel is in a great location, staff very friendly, asked for a late check out having spent the whole week here with a few colleagues. Spoke with the duty manager and refused point blank, bad customer service and have made a recommendation to our corporate travel for our company not to stay here any more. Won’t be coming back.

Central location. Easy walk to strand, marina, restaurants and public transport. Rooms tastefully decorated with nice bathroom and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great onsite facilities, restuarant, pool, gym. Would stay again definitely.

Good accommodation, great hotel, really good breakfast. Too bad for the air conditioning fired at 17 degrees, and that is not adjustable except turning it off and waiting for the room to heat up.

Among the best hotel accommodations for now the best we found on the trip to Australia, definitely recommended!

Flew into Townsville for work. Issy Randall (one of the young ladies at the front counter) was very helpful and cheerful. Couldn't do enough for me. Made the stay much more relaxing and enjoyable. Room was clean, bed was huge and comfortable. Renovations make it much more delightful. 14th floor. Beautiful view. Thank you. Will return again 1 day I hope.

Dated premises with older dated furnishings. Quite comfortable though with good beds and conveniently located in the City Centre. The one BIG blemish on my stay was being woken by the extreme smell of paint at 7.30am as they had decide to paint outside rooms from early! It was overwhelming. That's just idiocy, especially in a 20 storey building where you can surely have guests on floors far from painting in Townsville in low season! Plus how about starting your work a little later!

Yet another incarnation for Townsville's sugar shaker. Good quality service. Nice bar and breakfast spread. Parking, as ever, is a little inconvenient. Free weekend street parking until 9 am Monday. Otherwise pay at a shopping centre car park next door. Free Wi-Fi, great views, central so many things are an easy walk. Late night convenience store is very close, supermarket only a 3 minute walk. Pleasant staff.

The best location in Townsville City centre. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. There's not a much nicer place to stay in Townsville.

Check in was Excellent. Cody was extremely informative and helpful. Rooms are a little dated, however comfortable and clean. Aircon struggles a bit during the day due to the sun beaming on the windows. Even closing the curtains the afternoon heat penetrates the room! But, it's FNQ! Pool was clean, slightly small and gets really windy as it is on the rooftop and the building is round.

Amazing view from the hotel. Service was excellent. We arrived late on New years eve and service was still of a high standard. Room was clean and quiet. Parking wasnt provided which was a bit shocking for a hotel this scale. Hotel had the best quality shampoo and conditioner I've ever had in a hotel. Plus. Was a good stay.

Nice rooms, reasonable price. Parking was far away and a little frustrating. Decor was dated but still a spacious room.

Air con in room on 5th floor was not working, and it took them at least half an hour after 3 phone calls to reception to check, and we were told to monitor air con for another half hour. By then room was steaming hot and I had to leave door open. Called reception again then we were upgraded to 11th floor. Larger room with balcony and great view. Apart from initial disappointment, stay was good.

The hotel stands out from Townsville. It is a round high tower in the center of the city. The lobby is inviting and the staff was very friendly. Wi-Fi was included, but the hotel was a little bit over the years.
Location & Surroundings The location is basically good. The beach promenade is just a few minutes away. The Sunday market is right outside the door and shopping facilities also. Parking is rather poor. When we arrived our own parking garage was booked and we were referred to a public nearby.
Rooms 3, 0 The room was unfortunately not so nice. We were very high on the 9th floor, but you heard the street and cafes below as if you were on the ground floor.
So it was hard to think about sleeping until midnight. The room was very cramped but the beds comfortable and the bathroom clean. Air conditioning worked fine but was very noisy. There is a small refrigerator, but it did not cool properly.

Food was good. One got at the table his egg dishes served at the table, the coffee machine was good, the selection of fruit, pastries, yogurt etc. Was great for Australian conditions. Staff was attentive and it was always cleared quickly.

Loved the fact it was situated right in the middle of the shops and sunday market out the front door. Brilliant although my husband may not have thought so… lol.
Loved the fact the cook made up a special vegan meal for me because there really was no options on the menu! Maybe they should look at that as not everyone eats animal products!

The reception was friendly and helpful but rooms need work. The moment I stepped out of the elevator on to the 13th floor you could barely see anything as it was poorly lit and smelled due the lack of ventilation (old water and some smoke). I got into my room and it had an old school modern look which was nice but because it lacked ceiling height in the bathroom and entry way area it felt a bit smaller than it actually was. I think I got stuck on an old smokers floor or before the laws came into play because the floor amd room reeked from deodorizers. Additionally my room smelled a little extra smokey probably because the asshat before me probably was smoking in the room as woke up late at night smelling smoke thinking it was someone else until I realized it was the comforter. Luckily it seems house keeping changed that the next day. I probably should have requested a new room but I don't like to complain and it would have costed me the high level view. The positives I saw were reception staff, location as it was on the main downtown street, and on Sunday it was smack dad in the middle of a local farmers market which being from Colorado is always fun to visit.

Rooms feel quite old and dim, the balcony is a bit terrifying and uninviting, but other than that: comfortable beds, spacious rooms and a really great staff. Nice location in Townsville.

Overall really nice reception and welcome. Overall condition of rooms was good. Only ridiculous this is the $100 they take off your bank card and its didn't come back into your account for 3-5 days after you leave. It's really silly this occurs when your on holidays as you need the $100 back asap.

Excellent service and rooms, our wedding reception was handled extremely well by Christie and her team. Everything was amazing from start to finish and cannot thank them enough. Highly recommended.

Loved my stay and will definitely be back! The services provided were first class, the food (breakfast buffet and room services) was beyond delicious, the views were gorgeous, the gym and pool were handy and all the staff were accommodating and so very helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay. Five stars all the way!

I have to say that this leaves the casino for dead the service in the bar and restaurant was nothing more than 5 star I don't usually give tips but these girls absolutely deserve every cent They made our stay something to remember as we were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary the food was absolutely delicious and the chef had a eye for detail as all our meals taste and looked fantastic the staff in the buffet were very polite as well defiantly will come back.

1. Airconditioning, lighting, carpet, all terrible. Phone and lights broke, was told twice engineer would be sent to fix them and no one ever showed up in my 5 day stay. 2. Quoted verbally $98.00/night at check in and charged $159.00 +$12.50 parking/night. I didn't sign anything upon check in verifying rates or notified of the parking fee. Management would do NOTHING to make the dispute or difference in rates right. They could have done something simple like wave the parking fee and I would have felt like. "ok we had a misunderstanding but they tried to make it right". 3. I stay at IHG hotels over 100 nights a year and this one takes the cake on terrible performance and customer service.

I was going to stay at the hotel am platinum member of priority club rewards but I decided to do it when they told me that Wi-Fi was payment being that in the page priority club rewards this more than clear that IHG Elite partner the internet is free.

Just ducked in for a coffee at their little coffee shop — wonderful! Delicious coffee, and had a muffin which was the best muffin I've had in a long time. Good value, great taste, what more could you want.

Had a really enjoyable stay in March. We had just moved to Townsville and were waiting for our furniture to arrive. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. We received a room upgrade and the view over Townsville was splendid. The rooms were relatively modern and comfortable. Breakfast was OK — but the best coffee is around the corner at Coffee Dominion. Great location.

Slow service, even though there was only 4 other tables to serve. Staff unsure about anything on the menu. Average meals and overpriced. Wasn't that happy with service, food or atmosphere. Limited choices for gluten free diet.
