What a lovely place to stay! We had a quick overnight stay in Townsville and chose to stay at City Oasis. We had a pet friendly room so our spoiled fur child could stay in the room with us. We had dinner and breakfast at the onsite cafe and the service, friendliness and food exceeded our expectations. We ate at one of the outdoor tables so our pooch was able to sit out there with us. We’ll be back!

When left stranded with our furbaby thanks to the Townsville floods, Brendan and his crew went out of their way to help us, finding a room suitable for pets and their wayward owners.

A beautiful spot close to everything. The pet friendly room was tiled — very sensible. The grassed section was excellent for our puppy. The pool and spa area was absolutely beautiful and there was a play fort for kids. We were very impressed. Thanks for a great stay.

We moved to City Oasis from another hotel that we found very disappointing, and we stayed for a week. It was good value, the room was spacious though not fancy, basic cooking facilities, lovely pool and spa area, and excellent friendly service. The decor is a bit drab and could do with cheering up. Would stay again.

We contacted them through AirBnB to book accommodation. Not only did they not contact us within 24 hours as the site stated, the booking was then cancelled through AirBnB. When we called to confirm a room change was required throughout the duration of the stay, zero compensation was offered for their blunder. In a customer service business there was no service. I would not stay here.

Honestly I stay in townsville for a week once a Month I have stayed in many hotels. The owners and the staff are all so friendly and accommodating. It was a pleasure to arrive to arrive late to such a welcome, food is delicious, bed cozy, room and bathroom clean and shower has good pressure. I've just found my home away from home. (Oh and kitchenette is well stocked with a cold little fridge — trust me that's not easy to find) Thanks City Oasis Crew.

Writing this while I'm here, just finished a really nice meal at the restaurant, nice staff, clean room just a nice place for our over night stay.

Walked into the room and it was dirty. The bed had a big sag in the middle and creaked when sat on. Went for a swim the first day and the pool was full of leaf litter from surrounding trees and was immediately itchy. Had to have a hot shower to prevent itching. The shower was tiny and to put the towels on the towel rack you had to go into the shower itself to shut the bathroom door to get to the hidden towel rack behind it. Would not recommend this property.

Just under the mountain, the City Oasis hides. An easy 5 min drive to the ferry or centre of the city or 12 mins to the airport. The rooms are clean and tidy and nothing fancy, but more than comfortable. The rates are reasonable and the staff are very friendly, accommodating and flexible in arranging your stay (They even help us do "day only" rooms for stays of just a few hours, to keep out of the heat before evening flights, so the kids have somewhere to rest and have a swim too). The restaurant downstairs makes a good coffee and meal too. The pool and heated spa are relaxing and the little playground out the back is great for the kids. This place is our favourite short stay destination in Townsville.

Small motel, in a quiet but central location, about a 10-minute walk from the centre. The pool and, in particular, the really warm hot tub invite you to relax in a tropical setting. Ideal as a stopover.

The City O helped make our end of year celebration a super succesful event with yummy food and friendly fast service.

My wife & I stayed over on our way to Cairns. Comfortable room and facilities. A very homely stay, great food, coffee and service. The staff were extremely helpful.

Stayed here on the weekend. Nice rooms, very clean and friendly reception staff. The pool area is amazing and each morning we had coffee on the deck overlooking the pool. Lovely start to each day. Highly recommend.

Very helpful and friendly service. Close to everything. The heated spa and pool were beautiful. The 1 room we had was good. Bed was a little small but comfy. Walls were very thin.

This room is definitely not so good. Not even two chairs to sit on. The previous room had a comfortable lounge. This one is overlooked by a passage, so we have to keep the curtains closed. Previous room included an electric frypan. None in this one.

The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful! We got in after reception hours, and received pictures and texts of very clear instructions on how to get our key and find our room. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome! In the morning, the house keeper came in a few minutes before we had left the room, absolutely no big deal, but to make it right the man in the cafe offered us a free latte as an apology. They were all very nice and it was much appreciated to have such a kind staff that really cared about making sure their guests were happy!

Service is wonderful, rooms are clean and tidy, everything we needed for a two night stay.

It was only a single night stay, but the room was comfy, the staff friendly and the free Wi-Fi worked quite well. I would be happy to stay there again.

The hotel was quite tired on the outside, with paint pealing off the walls, but inside the rooms were nice to view. There was free Wi-Fi provided, which worked well if you were in the right area of the room, and a small selection of Foxtel channels on the TV. The receptionist was rude, had terrible body odor, and generally didn't know what was going on at all. There was parking at the hotel, but it should have been emphasized that there were only a handful of parking spots. The location was only a few streets back from The Strand and Flinders Street, so the hotel was well positioned. At night, the rooms were very noisy from the other guests, and our door rattled loudly every time someone else on the same floor closed one of their doors. The restaurant was completely closed for both nights of our stay, which was falsely advertised and very poor form, considering we booked this hotel as part of the Townsville Running Festival but yet we couldn't eat at the hotel at all over the entire race weekend. The price was similar to other hotels in the area, including some that we've been to before, and every one of those other hotels were significantly better than this. I wouldn't come back again, it was very disappointing.

Stayed in Townsville for a couple of nights and found this great hotel. The very friendly and helpful staff were welcoming when we checked in. The pool and gardens were very impressive — it was great to be able to have a nice relaxing swim and a bbq at the end of the day! We stayed in a new standard room with modern fittings and large flat screen tv. It was handy being able to park the car in front of our room. Staff were happy to organise a trip to Magnetic Island for us and also suggested things to do whilst in Townsville. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for that something that most bigger hotels and chains don’t have.

4 stars? I stayed a week (for work). We arrived late at night (10:30) and we it was hard to find the room as was no lights. In the room the floor was dirty with dust, the air conditioned is from the last century (very noisy). The TV is so small also. The room service is terrible, they don`t vaccum the floor and if you don`t leave the room at 10 am they wont come back and clean your room. The restaurant has very expensive and bad food, besides the ridiculous working hours. Friday night at 8 pm they were closing.
