I had an amazing stay here! All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge with giant windows that open. I can’t wait to return!

Stayed for 4 days with my wife and we loved it. The food at the hotel is average, though, but Port Douglas is only 5 min. By car where there are lots of more appealing options.

A great resort with world class service. I left my headphones behind in my room and after a phone call Lizzy in Guest Communications not only tracked them down but was able to arrange for them to be dropped off in Cairns the same day before my flight back to Melbourne. It’s great service like this that makes staying at a high end resort so worth while. Thanks Lizzy!

The hotel has recently been refurbished and quite stylish very tropical and nice. The beach is also amazing, swimming area is nice. However management from China does not deserve a 5 star firstly I got charged for various minibar items which I never used and when I told them they simply ignored me and charged my card. Secondly we were waiting near reception for our great barrier tour and the reception did not tell us when they had arrived so the bus left without us. We had to rush into our car and drive after the bus and we nearly missed out trip. Staff needs better attention to customers.

Nice destination, great pools. Food is expensive and is lacking showing any value for this money. Ask for a medium rare steak, served a blue steak twice. Also don't expect any gluten free food options that you will like. It took two complaints about their lack of gluten free options to start getting looked after! When complaining about a pre set menu that was to include gluten free options I was told to order off their menu instead. This only had one option which was a salad. None of their buffets include any signage which indicates gluten free options. Also don't even ask the staff what is gluten free as they won't know and requires asking multiple staff to finally get a response.

I arrived last Monday from Sydney, check in was fast and professional, staff are amazing, service is 1st class, buffet breakfast was exceptional, buffet dinner was scrumptious, I would also like to thank the night buffet floor manager for his kind hospitality to me, I recommend room 3117 so spacious, I definetely recommend the Sheraton to anyone looking to holiday in Port Douglas, didn't want to leave this morning.

A large resort that has improved greatly since our last visit 18 months ago. Food and gardens have both been upgraded. Room is nice and spacious. Pool service still slow and not very proactive. Food a bit pricey but to be expected from a 5 star resort that is located outside the main town centre. Will come back. Much better having your own car on hand.

Beautiful five star resort. Up there compared with resorts overseas, which doesn't happen as the norm in Australia. Lagoon pool amazing. Restaurants, dining and food quality was wonderful. Can't wait to come back!

The Sheraton Grand Mirage is a luxurious oasis in an already stunningly beautiful town. The lush gardens and lagoon pools are heavenly and there is direct access to four mile beach if you want to stroll. The staff are warm, friendly and super helpful. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and superbly appointed. Overall, guests are treated really well and the experience is overwhelmingly positive. I highly recommend staying here at least once in your life, if you can afford it :)

Stayed here for work conference The staff were exceptional they really could not do enough for you. The food for the conference was awful. Lunch buffet was the same thing day in and day out. The quality was appalling. The finger food dinners were also horrible with no nutritional value I'm pretty sure most of it was frozen. Some rooms were clean some not from the other guests that were at the conference. We were also told that we were not allowed to tag the resort with the conference name (adult pleasure products) as resort is a family resort. The only reason I've give 3 stars not 2 is the impeccable staff that go above and beyond.

Have stayed here on a few occasions and love it. The Resort is huge and comes with huge amount of swimming pools. The rooms were clean and spacious and the morning buffet breakfast had lots on offer. The beach is just out the front and a 20 min walk down to town. We pretty much spent 5 days relaxing and the resort along with going out to the reef snorkeling and going on a chopper ride out over the reef as well.

Amazing 5 star hotel with large beautiful grounds, lots of grass areas, palm trees, on the beach and has the most amazing salt water lagoons. Had a lagoon access room with our 16 month old son and was safe, secure and super easy to take him for dips. Oh and from all the hotels I have ever stayed at for work or pleasure this hotel has the BEST breakfast buffet — hands down! Will be back!

Nice resort and great starting point for trips to the north. Due to the recent flood, the beach was unfortunately not so suitable for the planned walks …

I loved this resort. Very spacious. Lots of space around you. So many different swimming pools. Staff friendly and professional.

The service that we have experienced here had been absolutely exceptional. Every issue we had (which were hardly any) was dealt with quickly and with no hassle. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast is fantastic, with a massive range of food to choose from, the amenities and rooms are very clean and very comfortable, and the swimming pools and surrounds are heavenly. Thank you to all at the Sheraton for providing such an exemplary experience!

Stunning hotel. Extremely helpful, attentive and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean room and comfortable bed. Pools are lovely. The whole resort is exquisite, with access to one of the most beautiful beaches. Highly recommended and we will be back!

Matt Elliott and his staff made our recent stay a real delight. If you read some of the reviews they can be misleading. The rooms have been updated (re-modeled) and we found the accommodations and our paid upgrade worth the money. The Hotel, built in the late 80's seems to be a concern in some reviews, I find the hotel to be appealing to me, reminds me of the grand resorts being built in Hawaii at that time. The staff and owners are working hard going beyond the rooms. This location, this resort is without question one of my new "favorites". If you're thinking Hawaii from the mainland, go the extra miles you will not be disappointed. The Sheraton staff, Port Douglas and "The Australian's" will make you feel right at home! An amazing location with beautiful views. Rooms are well set out, with lots of space and updated facilities. Pools are top class and kept in immaculate condition. Golf course is brilliant. Very friendly staff who will literally do anything to serve you. Unfortunately the food does NOT live up to the same standards. The restaurants themselves are very nice but the quality of The food is very sub par for the price, poor value for money. Evening us ala The good news is there are PLENTY of great restaurants 2 min up the road, so dine else-where but definitely stay here!

This place is unbelievably awesome. The staff is fantastic. The views are phenomenal. They even upgraded my room because it's my birthday. World come back here in a heartbeat.

Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas is just amazing. By far the best resort I have stayed at. The customer service is excellent and I really loved the food at the restaurant. The pool at the resort is just beautiful and really relaxing. I have stayed at number of retorts at Port Douglas and this one is by far the best. The rooms are very modern and large with beautiful views of the pool. I really loved my stay at Sheraton Grand Mirage and will be back again with my family. Highly recommended this resort.

Good high-end hotel though it has a slightly golf club / business convention vibe to it, which won’t suit everyone. In a resort of this scale the signage should be much better, it took a while to get orientated. Lagoon-side seating options were varied and all served by regular bar staff but we were there on Christmas Day and it was difficult to find somewhere to sit. In the end had to fork out an extra $50 for a cabana. Rooms were very large and well-appointed, as would be expected at this end of the price range. Clean too. Food was very good though of course with the prices to go with it. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel if you can get a good rate.

A true luxury resort. Right on the beachfront with multiple, massive swimming pools. The vast acres of beautiful gardens are immaculately kept, and the pools and surrounds are spotless. We stayed in the off peak summer season, and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room with a swim out balcony. Our room was elegantly furnished, spacious, comfortable and serviced daily with fresh towels and other amenities. The service we experienced was exemplary from the moment we checked in and across all food and beverage services. Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The seafood buffet dinner was nothing short of sumptuous, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best. We have stayed at a number of resorts in Port Douglas but after this weekend's experience at the Sheraton, we would not think of staying anywhere else. This is Port Douglas at its finest.

Lavish and Beautiful resort, with picturesque grounds that you can get lost on. Perfect for families, or a romantic getaway. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean… food in the main restaurant was alright. Really this spot is about the destination.

Four relaxing days, in a fantastic lagoon-edge suite with hop-in, hop-out pool access from our balcony! Golf course was great, especially for the early riser. Staff were friendly and helpful, weather was great and food good. Lots of food and entertainment options in town.

This resort is magnificent! Friendly staff, gorgeous gardens, amazing breach with lots of pools to relax around. The food presentation is wonderful and you never leave hungry. Our room is large, clean and spacious. I highly recommend this resort.

We stopped in for some drinks and the setting was really nice. We sat down on some very comfortable chairs and enjoyed some snacks and a few drinks. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the drinks were made well.

This location is amazing. It's a 25 minute walk into town along beautiful beach. The rooms are spacious and there are more pools than you would ever need.

Rooms were nice. Location and facilities were good. Service at food outlets were a little slow at times. Other than that, everything was good.

The staff are very friendly, professional, helpful and courteous. If you like a mix of grand, spacious, luxury and peaceful then this will suit. The gardens are well established, well looked after and beautiful. I don't quite know how many people are staying here at the moment, I believe there are a lot, but you can wander around and it feels like you almost have the place to yourself.

Lovely resort in a wonderful small town! Perfect for a weeks stay and it is family friendly. One thing to note is that they do charge extra if you for an additional people over the standard 2. Pool facilities are excellent and great for padlding and lounging around. The beach is nice but during high tide it is almost non-existent and there are waves and a current so it is pretty much unusable. I would still recommend as all the amenities in the resort more than make up for this shortcoming.

NO POOL LIGHTS! Other than that it was decent. Given that when I stay somewhere on a business conference, I usually hat a very nice room this was lackluster. The staff were niceish and I received a wonderful complementary breakfast. They also had a nice addition that if you tell housekeeping not to come, you can get $15 :)

Garden view room appears renovated and looks good and roomy. Room was under catered for our 4 person booking. Pillows were not good. Pools were great but pool bar needs a severe overhaul. Looking for a 5 star rating…? Must fix. Overall a pleasant stay. Oh and we can get free Wi-Fi at many of the local cafes and restaurants but here its $50 for 3 days. Add $10 delivery if you want room service and $18.95 for an in house movie. The rip-offs have left a sour taste in my mouth. I'll be looking around next time I visit PD. I'm surprised we weren't charged for parking! Suggest hiring a small car at the airport, much cheaper and more convenient as the hotel is an hour north of Cairns and its a 5 minute drive into Port Douglas. The shuttles are not free.

Still a little construction of the last few rooms, day time jack hammering. The swimming pools are vast, clean and private cabanas can be booked for a $100 day spend. 1.5km beach walk to town or shuffle from foyer. Not very excited by the restaurant, much better options in P/D. A hotel on the way back, almost all new, very impressive garden. Truly Relaxing.

The rooms where fine big and comfortable. A little dated but if you travel to the tropical north of Australia and you are staying in the room, then you are doing it wrong. The breakfast is costly but good. If you can pay for it as a packet then that is you best bet. Now for the location, it is near to the downtown area a short 5 min bus ride. The pools that surround the resort are some of the best pools I have ever enjoyed. The beach is very nice for long walk. Excellent place to take the family.

Great private beach. When I went it was being renovated so I couldn't see it at its full potential. Breakfast was included all I can say is that ive had alot better. Would I go back? Hmmmmm maybe.

Rooms are nice and spacious, and within 100m from the sea for the villas. Free service for changing bed sheets is very quick and efficient.

We knew the resort was under renovations when we booked, so we were prepared for some level of disruption. However, sitting by the pool the noise is not that bad (I live on a main road at home so maybe I am used to it) and from our room we couldn't hear any construction noise at all. We stayed in a renovated room and it was superb… spacious, comfortable and direct access to one of the pools. The staff were excellent; very friendly and helpful with some going that extra mile. A bit more signage around some of the construction and cleanup of areas where guest are welcome would have been nice (the Ocean Breeze Bar area — pool towels, drinks and snacks — was practically a building site). The shuttle bus into town can be expensive depending how often you use it ($5 per person, one way) and we found there was very little in the way of vegetarian food (my wife is vegetarian) so that was a challenge when going out for dinner. That said the chef at the resort restaurant was willing to make some adjustments to cater for vegos. Overall our stay has been great so far (we still have a few more days) and we may visit again when the Reno's are complete sometime in the future.

This place is absolutely horrible. On our first day, my wife opened the closetdoor, and suddenly, the safe box inside flung open, with he metal casing hitting her on her leg. We reported this to staff, who promised they would replace it. Four days later, nothing has been done. My ears are bleeding from the constant noise of construction. Don't go there.

Place is currently under construction, and the noise is extremely irritating. We weren't told about this at all. The breakfast is terrible. The constant noise of the construction ruins the meal. An emergency alarm was tripped and was active for a few minutes, with the staff doing nothing. Absolutely appalling. Never going back.

The hotel is great, but a little in the years, especially the rooms. But otherwise everything top. Would the room time makeover since the early 90s, I would give 5 stars.
