Been a few times, Bar staff friendly (Mel & Travis) and inviting, great place to have a quiet one or come in for The band. Highly recommed hotel Mackay for a drink and a feed.

Nice relaxed vibe here, great service & tidy amenities.

Decent vibe, usually love music is playing. Two pool tables. What else would a bloke want.

Good place for a drink or a meal. Very friendly and helpful staff. A good range of sports on many TV screens and good pool tables which are free on Sunday's.

Great venue with a big beer garden out the back, live music on the weekends and a pokie room.

So we needed a Place to Stay for one night. I know you can not excpect luxury. But we where so dissaponted with the Hotel. We did not Think it was so Bad. The Room was ok. Like the bed was Clean thats enough. That Why I gave one Star. no mirrors. Ok. So Coming to the Badrooms that was an disaster. Just Two showers in One Room men and women together. No electricity just the tiniest mirror and washing Place dirty as f**. So I had to fan my hair in my Room with no mirror at all. No help from know One. I would rather Sleep in my car Next Time. And I was in a Lots of Backpacker accomodation I thought in a Hotel would it be nice nur nooo Backpacker accomodation is lot Cleaner.

It was pretty good for the price, can't complain. Basic and well historied bit did the trick.

Looking for reasonable priced pub meal in down town Mackay. After ignoring my wife and daughters intuition I convinced them to try Hotel Mackay. Staff are lovely. We ordered some Parmy's and 2 pizzas. Pizza ok… Parmy was the worst we have ever had in over 40 yrs. Including FIFO camps… absolutely no love and no value… extremely disappointed! Perhaps bar and pokies is the best option. Get rid of the kitchen.!

Pretty good beers there. We're cold and bubbly. In a glass.

Hotel good location for those who can do without luxury.

Great pub that has outstanding service. The employees are courteous, display initiative and are dedicated to the customer. The food is cheap and tasted great. Parking is easy with unlimited spots surrounding the pub.

Great place with a fun atmosphere! The staff are friendly and helpful. Jess the chef makes the best cabanara!

The less money people have the better they are in Mackay and Queensland. People should spend 5 years in Darwin, visit port keits for a week or 2 and maybe they would learn something about respect. Not this place though. This place is cool. Rant over. Peace.
