Edgehill Bar and Restaurant fantastic. Nav the proprieter is a delightful host and yhe food is always beautiful. Bar and food prices are more than reasonable.

Amazing resort with beautiful pools and clean rooms. Although I would say that the Cantonese and the reception restaurants were very rude. And the Cantonese place only seemed to care about your table if you are Asian. As displayed by us not being able to get any service compared to the only other table in the restaurant being surrounded by staff.

Too many midges for my liking. Place needs more cleaning especially the pools around the edges and general maintenance could be better. Too many companies responsible for different things so there is no coherency.

Stayed here three different times awesome fist tine shabby the second made the mistake of going back a third. Staff too immature, arrogant, unhelpful millennials won't be going back ever have placed warning on my Facebook. Plenty of better places for far better service and price.

Very nice and quiet place to live but could do with a refurb. And from 3pm till 7pm stay away from the pools and outside in general otherwise you'll get bitten to pieces by mosquitoes.

Too many midges! Great location, lovely staff but lousy body corp. Advertise a gym but they don't have one. Swimming pools are not kept up to scratch.

Good place. The apartment was good sized and plenty of room to spread out and relax. Also breakfast options werent too bad.

Security, convenience, secure parking, 3swimming pools, including a small lap pool, nicely located in cairns north and close to daily required amenities. Only 5minutes drive to town, highly recommended.

The Lakes is a very nice place, great for families and very close to the city. The 3 pool's are great for all ages. Handy tip the pool near the tennis court is the best for shade. Will struggle with phone service in that area which can be good or bad.

Thank God at last The Lakes have a pleasant Customer Care in Miss MANDY. Prior to Miss Mandy most Guest and residents received negative customer care services! The change is appreciated. Priya.

Rooms are great and pools are very nice. Rooms have. Smart TV but are useless due to the fact that there is no Wi-Fi so very limited viewing options. Wifi would be a great addition as phone service in this area is very minimal.

Looks like a great place. Just make sure what floor you are on, and if there is an elevator.

Gated community with permanent residents and holiday accommodation. Large house that we stayed in almost as big as the one at home. Nice pool area, though had sand flies when we were there which was a shame.

The Lakes is a very well maintained, great resort. Parking inside the grounds for visitors, service personnel and emegency services is not great though.

The general manager is a bully. When I had a complaint about the gardner threating me he refused to listen. He in fact told me to get lost in front of his staff and general public.

Noisey, full of mozzies. We rented here. Reported problems and they took up to 6 months before any thing was fixed. In the end we had enough and moved out. Then they kept making excuses to not give us our bond back after we we had showed receipts of professional cleaners etc. This place is just after your money. No customer service here what so ever.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely and the grounds quite nice. The apartment was huge and the whole place definitely had character that most places don't. Would have been 5 stars if the gym was functional. If you go here you have to try the Chinese restaurant on site. We weren't expecting much but it was amazing food.

The accommodation was very nice. However we stayed near the entrance and the speed bumps are very noisy, especially at night. Hardly slept on the Saturday night. Cars coming and going all night up until four in the morning. I finally got to sleep and then upstairs put on their washing machine or dishwasher. Also a lot of long term people stay there. Every morning at six someone would wake us up putting on their washing machine and slamming the door. I needed ear plugs to sleep there, otherwise I couldn't have stayed. I would not recommend this place, nor would I stay there again. The gym and sauna were also out of order. The place must need work as there were tradies there the whole time we were there.

Beautiful resort in great location. Love the 3 pools and sandy beach pool, tennis courts bbq areas.

Great place to stay. Nice rooms, cheap and free breakfast. Three swimming pools with bbqs. All inside a secure gated estate. Close to airport and shops. Reccomended.

Horrible restaurant service. It is included in package but staff prompts charges for every other thing. Staff indulges in unnecessary talk and waste time. Not a suitable option if you book any package tour which normally starts at 8 AM. Otherwise property is good for stay.

The apartment itself was nice, and very clean. But it was missing some necessary things — no dining table or chairs, very few and very poor cooking utensils. The only saucepan was rusty, and we took it to reception to ask for another, but they never gave us one. Staff were otherwise friendly and helpful. Very dark outside too — several lights not working. Overall the resort seemed to be a bit tired and run down. The restaurants were all closed too, amd reception is only attended during the day. I'm not sure how they can call themselves a 4 and a half star resort when there is no 24 hr reception and no restaurant.

2011 Review:Spent 10 days here in September 2011, was a great place. Rooms were big and well maintained, gardens are very tropical, staff were very polite and helpful. My only complaint was the temperature of the pools and spa, they were far to cold, even the spa took your breath when you got in, apart from that I highly recommend The Lakes Resort and Spa.

Great place to stay. It reminds me of a condo. The staff is also very nice.

Wonderful place to stay! I enjoyed my Cairns holiday at The Lakes Cairns Resort, luxury pools, tennis court, and child friendly games room! Best Cairns Accommodation. I would thoroughly recommend.

I Love this place, they have really looked after it over the years and it is still a great place to stay with so many facilities etc. The pools are great, gym is great, tennis is great and food and service is great. Would definitely stay here again when in Cairns.

2012 Review:Spent 10 days here in late October 2012, sadly this place has gone down hill since last year. When we arrived at 1pm we were told our room was not ready. When we finally got the keys to out room it was kinda hard to see what took them so long, the outside seating area was disgusting had not been cleaned. Inside apart from changing the beds and running a broom around it did not look like anything else had been done, coffee table and dinning table had dirty cup marks on them, kitchen benches had not been cleaned. Its a real shame to see the place going down hill like this, last year the place was so much better. Apart from being a little out of town, it was fine place for a holiday. However, there was a hourly bus, and the driver was ever so helpful and polite. Rooms were spacious and totally self contained. If your looking for beaches, Cairns is not the destination for you. But good base for so many more activities including Reef tours, Daintree, Cape Tribulation, Paronella Park and Kuranda.
