Food is absolutely beautiful and the staff so very helpful and professional. A lovely place for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The seafood plater is to die for.

Perfect location for couples, very romantic and luxurious. The Reef House is definitely the most outstanding Hotel on the Esplanade. The service from the beautiful, friendly staff and attention to detail throughout the whole property is impeccable. Although very central to a vast array of lovely restaurants, bars and wine bar, the meals and cocktails in the Hotel restaurant are excellent. I would give this Hotel 6/5 stars if I could. Very highly recommended.

Oh what an Amazing Romantic stay we had at The Reef House for our 30th Wedding Anniversary! So pampered by all the staff! Food & service was outstanding! So blessed to have won this 3 Night Romantic Package! Thank you to The Reef House & Sandra Skelton Luxury Travel Co. 30 Years ago we went on our Honeymoon to Palm Cove and so it was so special to return 30years later! Thank you! 🙏🥰❤️

From arrival to departure I could not fault any of the staff. Reception, concierge, housekeeping, waitpersons, bar staff, grounds people… everyone was amazing! We had so much rain through our stay but the staff made up for that with their awesome attitudes. Love the gorgeous gin drink and refresher towels you are given upon arrival. The sorbet by the pool each afternoon, the punch and canapés at sunset. The beautiful breakfast each morning whilst overlooking the beach. The amazing dinner and delicious cocktails… Everything was perfect. I couldn’t recommend The Reef House more highly! ❤️

Not up to their usual high standards. Service was friendly and attentive but the food was very slooooow coming from the kitchen.
Oh, and the menu hasn’t changed since November 2020. Maybe time to change the chef since they’ve clearly lost their mojo?

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was great, the location was perfect and the staff went above and beyond when it came to service. Breakfast each morning was beautiful and our meals at night divine. Can’t wait to come back for a visit soon.

Have come here a few times and is always friendly service, clean, easy access to anything and everything within the facility. The staff go that little bit further for you with special occasions. I love the spa rooms. Restaurant is great, breakfast is served over a decent amount of time and this place has become mine and my husbands go to place now when having to stay around this area or needing a getaway for a bit. With locals deals and sales on occasion. Not much can go wrong.

Old needs a really good clean and some repairs it’s very tired. No concierge as advertised. Only three meals on the menu a bit bland, staff were a bit unprofessional. You guys want coffee?
You guys want to order yet. Just no service advertised as boutique luxury. No not unless you have been anywhere to compare it’s definitely not! No blankets or heating it’s was cold and rainy. Kitchenette is outdoors therefore the coffee and sugars were hard in the packets.
Was advertised with a view. No view just check the pictures I took.
I think we got ripped off we booked a romance upgrade king verandah suite.

We stayed here for a week. We dined in the hotel four times and the food was amazing.
The chef even done us scallops one night after we requested them the day before.
I would highly recommend this restaurant as it’s definitely 5 star. You have to book early as they are.

Love this place. Have been a couple of times when I visit Far North Qld. It’s on the beach, the hotel has a lovely ambience and understated luxury. Love the rooms. Sitting across from the beach and eating good food is amazingly relaxing.

Lovely beach hotel on the foreshore at Palm Cove. Great staff, excellent restaurant, beach themed rooms with great balconies. 2 pools, one heated the other not. Great facilities including spa treatments and a daily get together at the outdoor bar allows you to meet other guests. A thoroughly relaxing feeling throughout the hotel. Loved it!

What an amazing place! They certainly know how to do hospitality well. From the moment you arrive your made to feel special. A special thanks goes to Geraldine & Jacky, you made our stay very special. This place isn't a big modern 5 star hotel & that's what makes it great. Yoga in the pool with Geraldine is a must, also meeting other guest at 5pm drinks & canapes. The food at the restaurant is awesome, we tried a few other place but the Reef House is truely devine. I'd read a few previous reviews & people were complaining about the continental breakfast, honestly some people must be hard to please. It's great & if you want a hot breakfast it can be added for a small price. Will definitely be back… Thank you Reef House!

I have just spent a week at the Reef House & Spa with my husband and two friends. We had a fabulous time. We all loved the resort, had everything we could have wanted, perfect location right in amongst all the shops and restaurants. We loved that the resort was quite small and very quaint. The rooms were just lovely, very spacious and comfortable, with lovely big verandah's. The experience was made even better by some wonderful dedicated staff. To mention a few, Karla, Meteo, Archie, Jess, Karrie and Nicole. They all went above and beyond to look after us and made us feel very welcome. Palm Cove is such a beautiful location and we will definitely be returning and will most definitely stay at the Reef House again. Thanks for making our holiday very special.

Overall a great stay nothing really bad to share. It’s been there for a long time the rooms are a bit dated. Very local to the Main Street the staff are pleasant and helpful.

My husband and I are currently staying at The Reef House for our 15th wedding anniversary… it is truly lovely. The staff are fabulous, considerate and go well and truly above and beyond for their guests. Special mention to Geraldine who spoilt us for our special day with a gorgeous bottle of Shiraz, chocolates and card all placed in our room the night before as it was her day off the day of our anniversary. The best surprise…

A Classic Resort Hotel. + Rooms are large and well ventilated + Nice selection of Pools (heated and a larger fresh water) + Staff is exceptionally helpful and informative + Nice cocktail social hour at 5 PM.

We are currently 6 nights into a 7 night stay, and we couldn't be happier! The staff are fantastic, the hotel has a great relaxed vibe to it and everything is on our doorstep. Our room is spacious and clear, with a great facilities — jucuzzi on our massive balcony, big screen TV, comfy King Bed. The bar / library area is a nice place to have a drink before dinner and the pools are perfect — clean, quiet and the flowing water elements really do make you relax when you are lying around. Could not be happier with our stay and sad to be going!

The Reef House Resort & Spa, Palm Cove was a perfect spot to enjoy an amazing beach, lovely restaurants along the promenade, and base to explore Far North Queensland. The Management and staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you! Overall a beautiful place to stay, highly recommend!

A delightful seven day break in relaxed and pleasant surroundings. We held our wedding reception with The Reef House and cannot recommend them highly enough. The venue is beautiful, our wedding coordinator Emma made everything such a pleasure to arrange, the food was wonderful and all staff we came in contact with were excellent. The little personal, & unexpected touches added really made our day even more memorable. Well done, thank you, & we can't wait to visit again over & over again!

Special mention to Catherine at the Reef House. Made us feel welcome at the afternoon drinks that the Reef House puts on and responded beautifully to our request when we wanted to enjoy some locally bought cheeses back at our room. She is charming, helpful and a delight to speak with. A surprise birthday party saw her running around at the last minute getting balloons & flowers to please the guests that requested this of her. Great Hotel run well. Great staff and good restaurant known in the area. Bella the tradition of the punch of the 17 in honor of the former General founder and former minister.

Great location! Beside restaurants, facing the beach, friendly and helpful staff (they checked us in early), spacious rooms (we had a huge patio), and a few steps from the bus stop for a 50 min ride to cairns city (which is also a great visit)!

Very average food. The potato gnocchi was very poor for the price. The seafood share starter was good. The red curry bara was ok but to busy lacked complexity for the 30plus dollars. Not a good dining experience.

Ken and I have stayed at reef twice. Lovely hotel and position and the free drinks and canapés each night were the ideal way to meet other nice guests. We will certainly stay again when coming that way.

Recently spent a great week at the reef house. It's one of the great hotels with a real colonial experience but lots of luxury. The food is excellent the best fine dining in Palm Cove but at a great price especially if you have an Accor hotels card and you can eat for half price.

What a wonderful place! This hotel has plenty of charm and charisma, beautiful views, clean and quiet rooms, two pools and brilliant staff. I'd like to personally thank Michael, the Restaurant Manager, Cassandra, Alex and Matthew for your hard work, for your totally friendliness and for making our experience all the more memorable. The hotel really made us relax and whilst some of it needs a bit of an upgrade, I hope it doesn't ever lose it rustic, colonial charm because that's what makes this place feel very special. I highly recommend a stay here. We stayed over Christmas 2015 and it was rather rainy, with a couple of sunny days thrown in so we ate at the restaurant on site a fair bit and the food was superb. Every meal was amazing and the bread rolls — I was rather sad to leave it all behind. We will definitely be coming back here.

Our annual week at the Resort is something we look forward to immensely and our enjoyment if anything gets better with each stay. We love our designated room which is one we have requested for our many stays and Colin in Reception with his very efficient and warm manner has been able to help us out with that request. We are looked after like family in the restaurant particularly by Carrie, Alex and April who are so efficient coupled with a genuine friendliness. The setting is beautiful, food is great, room is everything we want, staff are wonderful, what more could we ask for. We hope to continue our annual pilgrimage to the Reef House for many years to come. Thanks guys! Greg and Carol.

Nice secluded location with great outdoor spa. Friendly staff. Excellent lunch and dinner menu at restaurant, the best we had at Palm Cove all week.

We had our honeymoon here and it was the secluded luxury retreat that we were dreaming of. Our suite was awesome, with an open courtyard and spa. (Being so open, we did have a few ants travelling through, but that can't be helped. The staff were warm and friendly and there is a generousity about there layout that trusts their guests to really feel at home.

We recently visited the Reef House for a conference and found the hotel and its staff, particularly Mandy at reception to be 5 star! Her attention to detail and warm, friendly and extremely helpful manner along with the wonderful rooms and service made our stay a joy. We would certainly recommend the Reef House in the future.

Nice place. Good food at restaurant. The foyer reminded me of walking into a second hand furniture shop. Old. And a bit shabby. Kind of spoilt the whole experience.

An older establishment with a sense of history, a rambling layout, pleasant pools and surroundings, a very good restaurant and exemplary staff. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed overlooking the pool, an ideal location to enjoy the end of the day with a drink. Palm Cove is a relaxing location with easy walks along the beach, The Reef House Hotel is centrally lcoated to take advantage of local bars and for a stroll after dinner. We are already looking forward to a return visit a little later in the year.

Heard good things from a group of friends before heading over to Palm Cove and my expectations were sky high. Happy to say Reef House delivered. The room was luxurious and the food was to die for. Passing on my recommendation to all my friends and family, great accommodation.
