Stayed a few times now, rooms are spotless, comfortable and are quite big in size. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Gardens look beautiful, and the beach is just across the road. Pub, shops, cafe etc within walking distance (takes us about 10 min) and a regular bus service, although I'm not sure where it goes as I dont use public transport. A few minutes drive to Byron, and a few extra minutes in the other direction to Ballina.

Great little motel to stay in. Nice and close to the beach and a few shops up the straight. Very helpful it was dog friendly! 3.5/5 stars only due to the fact the room seemed a bit older (which we didn't mind) shower head leaked, bathroom door didn't shut properly… Comfy bed but small TV. All and all a good relaxing stay, thankful it allowed dogs 😀 nice and close to Byron and other towns as well!

Our stay was perfect. The room was very comfy, had everything we needed (kettle, microwave, toaster, cutlery, plates etc) and lovely touches that made us feel really at home: milk in the fridge, a few books, local info, and really nice shampoo/conditioner etc. We had a nice outdoor patio with a table (even in the budget room) and the pool area was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful and had it ourselves most of the time! The staff were EXCELLENT, couldn't do enough for us and look after the property so well. Great value for money! The stunning beach is 2 mins away and we'd love to come back next year! Even when our shower leaked, they promptly moved us into another room, no trouble. Fran (the manager) is a wonderful lady, so friendly and helpful. Love it here!

What a great find. Between the two of us we’ve visited Byron many times over many years but never stayed at Tallow Beach before. So glad we booked Tallow Beach Motel. Great communication as soon as I booked online, easy check in and out. The room was beautiful and clean — comfortable beds. The pool and garden is private — perfect space for a dip and relax after a day on the road.
Woke to birdsong before crossing the road to watch the sunrise over the ocean… literally seconds from our front door — just magical.
Dinner, supermarket and a beer garden within a few minutes walk.
So many happy memories made in Byron and will definitely return to Tallow Beach Motel for our next lot.

 The stay was very clean, with a quiet large room (even nicer than the pics! ) and the staff were super helpful. Easily one of the most stunning beaches I've been to in Australia and was less than a minute walk across the road. Absolute paradise. Loved the convenience of being able to drive right up to my room. Given the small, boutique style, I can't believe my luck that there were rooms available, but I'm pretty stoked there was! This will definitely be the first place I check next time I'm staying in Byron Bay or surrounding areas. Awesome stay!

I had the most wonderful time at this little hidden oasis. I Thoroughly encourage anybody who wants some time away to pick this little piece of paradise. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be back time and time again.

This motel takes me back to the old days. Will suit chilled out people or people who want to chill out. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful.

We enjoyed the Bali inspired ambience, nice and quiet and also so close to the beach. Bed was comfy and it had everything we needed.

Classic older style motel that has been extensively renovated in a quasi Balinese style. Very clean and comfortable with a small kitchenette suitable for preparing breakfast or light meals. Sitting area with air con which also cools the bedroom space. The hosts have clearly thought about the small touches which make for a comfortable stay. Recommended.

Quiet, clean and convenient! We booked last minute and needed to have a late check in and the staff were so helpful.

Comfortable Homely place with everything you need including a small kitchenette suitable for preparing breakfast. Easy 1 minute walk to beach. Good aircon for the hotter days.

The owners were so friendly and made us feel so welcome on our first trip to Byron! We will definitely stay there again, next time hopefully for a little bit longer!

Great location, just over the road from the beach. The room was comfortable and had the usual amenities. The area is nice and quiet. Shops and restaurants are a short walk away.

If you're looking for a secret, quite and inexpensive place to stay near Byron Bay this is the place. A stones throw from magnificent beach, nice rooms and quiet street, the Tallow Beach Motel is it.

The best quality and location in byron. If you're after a peaceful holiday where you can sleep with the sound of the beach then this is the place! Was a five star experience without the huge price tag. Room sleeps from 3-4 people too so very good value and excellent pool and outdoor area! Will def be back! loved it loved it loved.
