Above average The convenience and the nightlife, next to King's Cross station so lots of cafes/bars. Good place for a quiet night sleep as this is somewhat considered to be a working hostel. -Strong hot showers -Free food two nights a week for a more social feel -24 HOUR big kitchen! BUT people don't keep it clean -Cool night check in manager -Lowest price worth it.

Good location and cheap. The bad thing is that the hostel is not well maintained, the rooms and the bathrooms very sloppy and not neat.

Some water was dropping from the ceiling bedroom on rainy days with moisture stains on the wall. Cleanliness of the place is not satisfying. Some of the rooms were quite dusty. One of the room where I slept was small as a storage room with no window. There were no staff after 11PM so all the kids in the place could party hard.

If you don't have any claims and like it dirty with rats and cockroaches. And really every disease that exists then comes here. Breakfast is pitifully just toast and jam with some cornflakes. If you like to have a tilt, the right thing to do here is because there is a smoker's room where you can only be tipped. Free food every Wednesday and Friday, which was even quite good.

Don't come! Unless you like super smelly room, dirty sheet and "Friendly "Receptionist! And the price on line is a trap! You think it's cheep and book it second time. Bang! Surprise you are on hook! They don't admit that price you booked legally and want charge you double that price! And want cancel it? Haha congrats! The cancel policy is no cancels! They don't return your money!

The price is the only advantage here!
The room is narrow in space, ruins, messy, cockroaches are four-channeling and indescribable smells.
The bathroom does not have any space to place, only a simple hook, and the bath water can not be constant temperature.
Other public spaces are extremely simple, with no decorations or decorations.
However, in the Cheap Inn can also enjoy free breakfast is commendable, but the time is early and short, a bit not OK. Incidentally, every Wednesday and Friday night there is free food to eat, can be considered small indeed fortunately.

OK for the price. Breakfast is good but very early.

I went to check in here, but was so horrified that I left immediately and instead spent the night in the park across the road from King's Cross station. The giant rat running reception (who was clearly hooked on bath salts) told me I had to share a double bed with 7 Egyptian men in their 50s and 3 dogs (not Egyptian). When I inquired as how and why this was happening, the receptionist proceeded to throw his own faeces at me while screaming "U WOT MATE?!?!? ". The room was made up almost entirely of black mold, and in the hallways I could see the remains of several backpackers who had perished as a result of exposure to the various toxins and infections diseases running rife within the walls of this hell hole.

You pay cheap and you get budget; but expect this and you won't be disappointed. I found the room was spacious and had a decent fan. The kitchen was fine and you have enough pots and pans to use, just pay a $20 deposit for cutlery and plates. Good location. BEWARE: if you want to extend while you're still staying there they will charge you extra (no clue why, this is the opposite to everywhere else I've stayed if you book direct Vs Hostelworld etc).

A bit taken in the years but super people hit and good location.

There's one good thing while staying in this hostel, checking out. Let me get something straight. Black fungus in the shower, the smell of garbage in the whole building, pod smoking people in your smoking area, and still after 9 months I still find the place disgusting. Maybe you need to let the cockroaches pay for their stay, there are more in the building than backpackers. (1 big one is normal you cant keep them all out. But it was if they were living there for three generations! ) don’t blame me for any trouble I could cause. The only thing I did was saying hi and bye. 1 positive thing, the locks on the doors are nice. Let me know if you want a more detailed version!

I would say there are better hostels…

I'm an Aussie woman backpacking around Australia. Was refused a bed in a dorm room because they said they don't allow Australians into dorm rooms, or older people (Im 36). They only offer people who are older and Australia the expensive single rooms. I've been in many hostels on my travels and never had a problem staying anywhere or sharing rooms with younger people. This place discriminates based on age and race. Pretty poor effort.

I stayed at ChiliBlue Oct-Nov time. It was one of the worst hostels I have stayed at, I actually didn't want to give it any stars. There was a hole in the top floors shower door, large enough for someone to reach through and see through with ease. The shower water leaked through the door and soaked the carpeted floor outside. I'm sure that this could have caused structural damage to the ceiling below, the hostels response was to put a mat outside of the door which did absolutely nothing to help the problem. The shower temperature went from scalding to baltic and back again. Perhaps the showers on the other floors were better. On a couple of occasions I saw rats in the kitchen, on the work surfaces and scurrying under the step leading to the kitchen. Other guests said that they also saw rats on numerous occasions. The kitchen was filthy, as much the guests problem as the hostel. Every night the sinks would be blocked and filled with dirty water. The whole hostel was dirty, there was a sign in my room saying that a full clean of the rooms would happen each Tuesday. I stayed for 3 weeks and can confirm the deep clean of the rooms did not happen once. I was lucky that my room was one of the nicer rooms, it didn't smell half as bad as the other rooms and had a window that let light in. Guests staying in other rooms told me of cockroaches and bugs in their rooms. The staff on the front desk were incredibly unhelpful, rude and unfriendly.

Please do yourself a favour and DO NOT stay here. The place is disgusting. Bed sheets and pillow are stained, showers are dirty and kitchen is vile. Cockroaches everywhere and huge rats in the kitchen and hallway. It's literally the stuff of nightmares and iv stayed in some grim hostels in my time. Can't think of one redeeming factor except maybe the location? Free Wi-Fi is a joke too, barely ever works and if it does it cuts out after about 10mins. To top it all off the reception staff are incredibly rude. Just do yourself a favour and stay well away cause I didn't listen to the bad reviews either but they are spot on.

Nice place to stay for 3 days maximum cause there is only one shower and one toilet per floor. Some backpackers don't understand they have to clean after cooking. The hostel need a refresh.

Please don't go crazy. To begin with We were told that we were given a room with 10 people but that our part of the room was incommunicado with the rest of the room. Well, that was not so, there was a wall but there was no wall. There was No night Matásemos 10 cockroaches. Get to the point of having to go buy a spray for the cockroaches. We Are in the 21st century and there are methods for not having such nasty bugs as spays or traps. The staff is very unpleasant and the kitchen pots constantly came out bugs and cockroaches, so which one of you would cook there? I leave a couple of pictures of the room for you to see. Look at the floor without putting and the walls without paint.

Was an alright stay. Especially for work not spending much time in the hostel. Room was really not in a good position. You get what you pay for. If you want to save money and still stay central go for it.

Very friendly staff, sheit untidy rooms, but the free breakfast and lunch gives it an extra star. Pretty chill, cool, laid back atmosphere.

Stayed here for a few weeks… It's got a great little vibe for the city. I'm not a city person but as far as cheap accommodation goes for the city, this is the place to be. Guys who run it are nice enough, willing to help, and as a seem whole seems to attract some decent people from around the world! Thanks Chiliblue!

It was clean. Good location. The receptionist was very helpful. Totally worth of the prize.

The owner likes to cut corners at any expense — whether it is slow Wi-Fi with limited range, exploiting young workers by not paying them properly (if at all), or improperly disposing of asbestos by throwing it into the garbage (asbestos is expensive to dispose of, and so the owner, Mike, wanted to cut costs and just chucked it in the bin. ) Yeah, its cheap. But the price comes at a cost. Stay somewhere else.

It was clean. Good Air Conditioning. Nice Service. Just the Wi-Fi was a bit too limited.

Not enough breakfast supplied to cover all guests and once it's gone there is no more. Breakfast only consists of hard boiled eggs, cheese slices, bread with peanut butter and jam and cornflakes. The facilities are dirty and not enough for guests so long waits and not even on every floor. Free Wi-Fi is barely enough for a couple of days then it costs you or you have to use their computers which again you have to cue for. Was not given the room we paid for and no partial refund. Decor is in bad repair including unsafe hand rails.

Worth the money. I stayed for two weeks and it only cost me 147 USD! Let's get the cons out of the way first; Cons: — Rooms were cramped (usually 4 people to a room). Everyday I had to sleep with my luggage on my bed because there was no room anywhere else. — No curtains for the room near the exit. Light and cold kept creeping in. — Dirty kitchen (bring your own utensils if you plan to cook) — Wi-fi kept crashing in and out. Can only use 525MB a day. But don't let these cons stop you! Pros: — Staff was always fantastic, was friendly and some were even a delight to hold a conversation with! — Everybody is nice, your roommates will become close acquaintances if you simply tell them your name and where you're from! If you play your cards right, you might save money by creating a friendship with someone whos couch you can crash on if ever you find yourself visiting their homeland! — free breakfast and Wi-Fi! Breakfast was nice, it was cheap but filling. Boiled eggs, granola bars, cereal, milk, toast, cheese, grilled cheese (gotta make this one yourself), but it's all gone by 9:30am, so hurry! And the Wi-Fi, though it crashed a lot, was incredibly useful when needed. — Super cheap, like I said, 147USD for two weeks! And the location, oh man, firstly ALL the hostels are squished in one area, including chili blue's, and the morning in Kings cross was always b-e-a-utiful!

Chiliblue is the best Hostel I ever stayed in! You have to love it ❤ especially the backyard and the goonpongtable.

Very nice location, the hostel feels more like a giant house. They have 24 hour kitchen and there's a good atmosphere between all travellers from all over the globe.

Very bad Wi-Fi, small and not the cleanest. Thay have some slow pc's though.

Excellent atmosphere. Space room common comforts: Wireless / tv/dvd — open kitchen. Only downside maybe: the inner court.
Great atmosphere in General / evenings organized in the guest house.
