Solid hostel in a great location. In hindsight I would have picked one down in the center of Bondi beach area.

Fantastic hostel located in a brilliant spot. Staff are awesome and they really socialise with you. They even go the extra step to accommodate you where possibly, opening up the TV room to allow you to watch the world cup at early hours in the morning. Would happily recommend to anyone.

We were sitting in the courtyard at a table with some guys who were smoking weed at 9 o'clock at night. A manager came out of his room (he was very drunk and angry) and screamed at me (I was not smoking weed — I'm 50 years old and a professional person). I went to my room and he followed me, screaming abuse (waking up many people) demanding that I leave the hostel. I packed my bag and left, concerned for my safety. I strongly recommend giving this place a miss. It was a terrifying experience, and I had to sleep in my car as no other accommodation was available. Also it is a long walk from Bondi, not 300m as stated on the booking sites.

Stopped here for my 2 weeks holiday in Sydney back in 2006 I was absolutely amazed how close it was to the beach. I made new friends during my stop from all over the world but overall nicely set up cheap rooms available.

Not too bad but not up to standards. Many massive cockroaches inside the room, we actually slept with the lights on cause they come out when dark. They should do a proper disinfestation. Just one toilet and shower for the entire floor. Not very clean facilities. Sunscreen available at the front desk which is a nice touch. Very close to the beach, main good reason to choose this place.

The only thing this place has going for them is the view.

The night manager made a lady cry well I was there.
And my TV in the room dident have any battery’s that’s cool right? So I went and got some. Sweet.
Turned the TV to face the bed. And it literally Fell of the Wall.
They need a entire new Crew to fix this place because every one working just make it a Depressing experience.
I would only recommend for the view. But look around b4 u go. There are way better hostels around. Body gives YHA a name to hang ur head in shame.

Great location but rooms constantly smelled terrible. Bathrooms were horrible. And the owner of the place was a Prick.

All the staff were really lovely and helpful. But the owner was a really bad. For example we went up to the front desk and asked what time the table tennis opened, the said we went down at 9:05 and the owner just stormed out and got really angry at us and changed the opening time to 10:00 and we where just left standing there confused. He was an angry man.

Just dirty. We had the private room with our own bathroom and it was very very dirty. The entire place is run down, needs upgrades. But on a positive note the staff was helpful and the location is AMAZING (why we picked it). A few minute walk to Bondi and other beaches, breakfast spot across the street and liquor store/supermarket and restaurants all near by. Other YHA locations blow this one out of the water.

The hostel only advantage is that is well located 2 blocks from the beach, but apart from that is a very untidy dirty hostel, when you arrive they give you a sheet so you need to put it but the botton and pillow sheets are already there, I stayed for 3 days in the hostel and I saw a lot of people checking in and out and they never changed the sheets!. The bathrooms are a few when you consider how many people they have in the hostel and are so dirty! and one last thing I… understand that you need to have rules specially when you have all this backpackers coming and going but they all were very rude to us all time. I would recommend the hostel if you are only going for a few days and you are not planning to spend long time in the facilities.

A lot of people, very good vibes. Near the beach. The terrace was great. All incredibly clean to be a hostel. They do some other event.
Failures: At night they close the kitchen. As you go out of parties and want to have a dinner, impossible.
Quite expensive to be a hostel and not include breakfast.
Wi-Fi only comes to common areas less terrace and bathrooms. It fails ever, more than anything when there are many people using it, if not cool. If you want to have more Wi-Fi to be able to use it in the rooms you can pay.

Hostel is the best in bondi. We even had a fan Facebook group for us Specially if you love the warm, friendly and large communal areas (which are rare in Sydney) the 28 days limit is a bit odd though, the staff are really nice and decent. Regardless, the manager is so aggressive, and treats the masses as cattle or as if she runs a subsidized service not an international professional service.
Helped with odd problems in night times, with a drugged fellow, had always cleaned others stuff even just because I found it childish that a Youth place has a kitchen dirty in no time or a sink plugged with food etc.
In return, once I checked out and came back to visitor ALLOWED communal areas, to see my friends, I was a potential suspect for sleeping over from the last day and was, literally, asked (where did you sleep last night) then, good luck replaying that its not right to ask these questions or even accuse you, to end up being "kicked" rudely.
Stay away, if you look at a quality of service or "Customer service".

More of an expensive YHA, just a small kitchen, very sparsely equipped, few refrigerators for the size of the hostel.
So far the worst YHA we've been in in Australia.

Typical YHA, the rooms are clean and the kitchen as well as dining room are very spacious.

According to dirty and generally come down. Not been renovated in too many years.
Hellenic rooms that do not close properly, drunk guests celebrating across the corridors and toilets.

Booked a private double was over priced and very underwhelming. Full of permanent travelers and people running around all hours of the night. Kitchen was okay. Bathrooms where far too grubby and there's only one toilet and shower per gender on each floor for about 15 rooms of 4+ people. Unless they have showers hiding in the rooms, this is very inconvenient.

Nice hostel. Cool people and really good place. Not to expensive. Maybe just some rooms are too small. Clean room and bathroom.

Excellent location and great view from the roof deck. Walking distance to Bondi Rd shops and to Bondi Beach itself. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Shared bathroom was reasonable but it is a backpackers after all. Room could do with a fan on hot days. Have to hunt for free on street parking. But otherwise everything was quite good.

So I knew already a yha in brisbane and thought these are good hostels. Apparently this one in bondi beach is a joke. Like 40 men share one toilet and one shower. If someone is in the shower, you can't get to the toilet. Please make the bathrooms better, the current situation is disgusting.

Very nice Hostel between Bondi and Tamarama beach. At the rooftop you have a stunning view on the coast line, exept for the the kitchen there are big common areas, good to meet new people. It is a little bit less clean than YHA standart, but still good enough to give 5 stars.

This hostel is for party-goers.
Alcohol is prohibited by the hostel, but they control nothing beer in the rooms with the puateur of alcoholic.
Some of the staff is rude.

Great price and location… but we had cockroaches in our room. If it weren't for that I'd give it 5 stars.

Wonderful staff Team that regularly changes. The kitchen is a bit small, however after two to three days, the peak times figured out and can adjust accordingly. The location of the YHA is excellent, just between Bondi and Tamarama beach with 3 min March up to the Tamarama beach and 15 to Bondi.

The hygiene is really bad. The room stinks and filled with an odor of urine mixed with sweat…and stains on the mattress…

Very good place to stay, meeting lot of nice people. You can also hire board wich is pretty convenient and it's walkable to Bondi or tamarama beach :)

Staff is nice, location is good. You have free Wi-Fi access in dining area. BUT the rooms are really small, you only have 1 bathroom with shower and toilette per gender and floor and the light at the male's toilette didn' t work for 2 days even though it got fixed on monday night. Toilettes were dirty and the roof top was just plain with 4 ugly big pillows to sit on. Not as shown on their website. Bins stood right underneath our window.

Stayed 2 nights (4 share male dorm), 1st night got bitten by some sort of bug which left two big bites on my back, also was kept up all night by an Aussie guy above me screaming; stop snoring, no stop snoring to a guy who was snoring in the other bunk bed, this went on all night long. 2nd night a guy in the room was snoring like a steam train, so I decided to sleep in my car out the front. Had a cold shower before checking out : (Also kitchen closes at midnight, the place is bland and boring looking, needs some energy instilled into it. Would not stay there again. Sorry.

Fantastic staff and a great place to stay, 5 mins to the beach and close to the bus to Bondi Central and Sydney. Stayed for over 6 months, loved it.

Loved living so close to the sea and the hostel is pretty nice. Very noisy people though, party central which was fun for me but I dont think the older residents really enjoyed it.

Stayed over New Year and don't think it was worth the money. Poor customer service and staff didnt really seem to know what was going on. Mostly it was just REALLY dirty! Kitchen is grubby and needs gutting. Bathrooms weren't clean and rooms smelt tlike old people. Last room we stayed in had bed bugs. Good location for Bondi-Bronte, but probs wouldnt stay there again. Gypo Dave was a highlight — be prepared for bizarre boring conversations from this long termer.

Very cool place to stay at in Sydney. I liked how they had a fridge to store food and provided labels for the food and a kitchen.

The most disgusting backpacker I have stayed so far and will never ever book or recommend to any friends.

Good Hostel. 15 min walk to Bondi beach. Staff are OK but nothing too write home about. Blonde girl was the nicest. Roof top patio has spectacular view, smaller kitchen ($10 deposit for bowl, plate, knife, spoon, cup), $1 for towel, $8 / day for Wi-Fi, $1 for towel, Good bars are 15 min away across from Bondi beach. Must hand over passport for free use of Body boards. No exceptions. Credit card are not acceptable. Good Bathrooms and can be a little noisy at night from parties in the lounge area which I was Ok with. Pingpong in courtyard. Computers available.

No Goon permitted on premises was the first thing we noticed. The old guy at the counter who looked to be on drugs then told us how bad it is for you. Seemed like a drug dealing circus was staying there when we went, also there was a stab victim. Place is kinda cool but its just a renovated old house, nothing flash.
