Bronzed bodies, blond sand, backpackers, and surf — throw it all together and you get one of the world's most famous beaches. Only 15 minutes by car from the city center, Bondi Beach is home to one of the oldest surf life saving clubs in the world. It's also a great spot for a seaside stroll or picnic, and crowds of tourists and locals gather here to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year. A great way to soak up the sea views is to stroll along the scenic Bondi to Bronte coastal walk, which begins at the southern end of the beach and follows the coastline for six kilometers along sandstone cliffs. Shops, cafes, and restaurants lie across the street from this famous coastal strip. Other attractions around the beach include the Sunday markets, ocean pool, and skate park. Take care when swimming at Bondi. Strong rip tides often sweep unsuspecting swimmers out to sea, especially at the southern end of this kilometer-long strand, so swimmers should stay between the flags. There's a reason the Aussies made a reality TV show called Bondi Rescue.

A beautiful, clean and peaceful beach. Surfers paradise, good restaurants nearby beach and also parks close to beach are good. Nice one day family outing place.

Great location if you want to explore the Bondi area, good breakfast, good backyard BUT, is not a hotel, is a guest house and often you miss some attention. Our room door connected directly to the outside and it was cold (we stayed in july), there was not climatization but an electric heater and no cleaning service in three days.

Perfect for locals, surfers, and tourists alike! This is hands down the best beach in Sydney and is a great place to visit any time of year. Surfers will love the waves off of the ocean, tanners will love the sands, tourists will love the views. There really is something for everyone. There is also a public pool located off the beach which is perfect for days when you don't feel like going into the ocean. There are cafes and other various dining options as well. A must do while in Sydney.

Beautiful beach, the sand is so white and clean. Well organized walkway for pedestrians and cyclists to travel along Bondi beach, very convenient as it is equipped with public toilets, cafes and outdoor gym. We visited there during winter thus unable to enjoy swimming in the sea. Heard would be crowded during summer. Probably will visit again during summer.

This beach is freaking awesome. I can’t even forget this place. Clean and beautiful. We can surf here, play beach volleyball, chill and relax, playing ball, getting tan, enjoy the wind blowing through your face. It’s crowded since it’s very famous. But we still able to find peace laying on the sand.

Located right on the doorstep of Bondi beach so an easy 2 min walk was really handy. Rooms had a rustic feel to them, plenty of natural lighting and the communal kitchen was well kept. The only down side was the lack of consistent Wi-Fi.

Bondi beach is beautiful. Walking on the sand, the clear blue waters and the waves it's great for a day out at the beach. The coastal walk path is also interesting. Some nice spots for great pictures and great views. There is a swimming pool right beside the beach where you can swim and shower for 5-7 AUD. The place is easily accessible by public transport. Some good eateries around. And great place on a sunny day.

You should not miss Bondi Beach when you're in Sydney! This is by far the most famous beach in Sydney! Although it gets crowded, but you'll still have a lot of space to swim and have a decent walk/sun bathing! The water is super clean and the view is just magnificent! Make sure you guys should visit this as this is totally worth it!

Bondi is probably Sydney´s most famous beach and for all the good reasons. As I already wrote in another review (Blue Mountains review), I consider Sydney a very lucky city since, geographically speaking, it got everything you need, including a spectacular coast. Bondi won't disappoint you, with its super clean water (we saw a group of dolphins) and white sand, great day and nightlife, its promenade full of delicious bars — restaurants… its natural swimming pools (some of them are artificial structures though… but they still get filled up by the sea water) and, for those who love surfing, waves are awesome. Water is not that warm though, but hey, is the Pacific Ocean! One thing that I truly like about Australia are their rules, and everybody respects them! The beach is no exception. I heard a lot of people complaining about the too many restrictions (including my favorite one, forbidden to smoke in public areas) that they put, but I like them all. You can't trust humans so better to take extreme measures! Australia should be taken as a world example regarding this aspect. I would suggest taking your entire day for Bondi beach, and discover all the beautiful treasures that this place has to offer! PS Do not forget to put sunscreen, a lot of it… remember, sun in Australia is stronger than in the rest of the world. They've got the Ozone Hole…

Bondi Beach House is a real gem. Don't tell anyone! We stayed in Frangipani Suite 1 and did not want to leave. Everything about this accommodation is perfect and I've stayed in some wonderful places around the world. The décor, artwork, cleanliness, outlook, peacefulness, staff. Fabulous location. Very close to Bondi Beach and the Icebergs pool, but far enough way from the craziness of Campbell Parade. If you have car, ensure you book a car space well in advance. We loved our stay at Bondi Beach House and we'll be back. Thank you for a fabulous stay. Kerry and Phil.

Home from home, welcoming, comfortable and nothing was to much trouble. Would go back to bondi just to stay here. Would rare it ABOVE 5 stars!

Wonderful beach. Great life guards very helpfull and caring. Plenty of washrooms and changing facilities. Nice outdoor workout area of you want to pass some time or you ca walk the boardwalk. We enjoyed the hike up to marks park the most.

A great location in the Bondi Beach area. Access to the beach and surfing is under 5 minutes. The location is gorgeous and close enough to the cbd gym bus. Great selections for a continental breakfast. Caution, if you have mobility issues, this is not for you. There are many, many stairs!

Absolutely stunning. Loved the wall art and the relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic views overlooking the beach and a wonderful clifftop walk from Bronte beach.

Nice but chaotic beach… for young people.

To see but if you do not like the crowd to avoid. Ambiance Beach, we find a semblance of the French Riviera and the red point of Marseille. Lots of people on the waterfront, in the many restaurants and shops, on the beach and in the water. Access from the city centre is via the 333 bus or the 389. It takes about 50 to 60 minutes by bus.

Bondi beach is one of the most attractive and famous tourist spot, not only in Sydney, Australia, but also in whole world. The whole area is wonderful, very well maintained. Excellent facility to have fresh water bath, along with numerous rest rooms. The crowd is very cosmopolitan. The road side is flocked with numerous restaurants and food joints.

Bondi is a fairly decent beach but there are some issues that you should be aware of. First of all it's a very popular beach, all the tourists visit this place. Theft can be rampant, and quite common, especially during summer time. Always watch your bag, or have someone nearby look after your stuff. My friend had his wallet and clothes stolen while he was swimming. Also, keep in mind that Bondi is an open beach, meaning that you will get occasional blue bottle jelly fish, and other nastiest that float in from the sea. If you get stung or feel unwell, go straight to the lifeguard post. The lifeguards themselves are great, amazing swimmers and they do save lives. Remember to always swim between the flags and listen to their instructions. Around the area there are options for food, things can be expensive, but the scenery and other beaches are amazing. Overall, It's a great place to go for a once off, however Clovelly Beach isn't too far and it's a lot less crowded. No matter where you end up, be mindful that you're in Australia, bring water with you at all times, a hat and sunscreen.

One of the best beaches in the world! It's great and has plenty of water and sand yo offer. Only thing I would like to see more of is shaded areas/pergolas on the grassy area.

Bondi Beach is a large and beautiful beach of fine sand and strong waves, which attracts many surfers. Young children and non-swimmers should beware of the strong waves. All along the beach there are many shops and restaurants, if you need something for the beach excursion. To get to Bondi Beach I recommend the bus as parking is limited.

Nice beach to be in town and full of young people who want to have fun.

A lot of people coming down here and the beach still have a great color of sea water. Perfect for relaxing, sitting down enjoying the breeze. You can take train then bus to get here. A lot of trees so you can stay on the shade. Most of facilities are well provided. Heaps of cool restaurants and stores.

Atmosphere is amazing. Street art. Skate park. Great shops and food.

Crystal clear water, white sand and cool village community is why I live in Bondi, I love Bondi. I can not longer travel to any beach without surf for holiday as it is rare they will compare to Bondi. With a bunch of cool restos and bars I hardly have to leave and it only takes 15 mins to get to the city.

Bondi Beach is wide sandy beach, high waves, cool and friendly people. But the certain Bondi feeling has not been broken. It's all very much pulled apart, too. Localities a little far from the shot. Surfing for beginners but recommended.

One of the best beaches in the world. I loved the great view and enjoyed watching surfers. Area around the beach is a great picnic spot where you can have fun with family. Bondi to Cogi walk is another treat. With fabulous and mesmerizing natural beauty. If you are in sydney, you should visit it.

This is a delightful, charming and perfectly positioned hotel. A home away from home. Original art, frangipanis, orchids and one off eclectic pieces of furniture adorn this funky hotel. The owner Sue ran the Botanic Gardens cafe for many years and knows her stuff. Decent pricing.

This beach is really really crowded. But the bondi walk is amazing and pretty. The bondi pool area is cool, too, and a popular photos spot. Would recommend the bondi coast walk. Go early to avoid a lot of walkers on the trail.

The room was lovely and the entrance was nice. I am not sure I loved the shared bathroom experience. Otherwise, great location at bondi.

In A Nutshell: -Even on a windy spring day, Bondi Beach was worth checking out. -Did a reverse walk (Coogee to Bondi) bc I wanted to swim a few laps at the popular Bondi Icebergs Club infamous swimming pool, but the weather prevented that. -Bondi Beach is the "South Beach" of Sydney. -There are lot's of shops and places to eat that dot Campbell Parade. -The beach was surprisingly pretty empty for a fairly clear day. Overall, I can imagine that Bondi Beach gets pretty packed during the summer.

A big sized Beach which ever remain crowded since a century. The modern administrative buildings, clubs and sports clubs around give it latest look. All around found hundreds resting basking in sun for tanning. All water sports lovers are seen doing practice or just playing. Boating, yachting, swimming, scating is in abundance. Most appreciated is Sea Guards very wet and giving best of attention alert always making Bindi water sports fully safe.

Great place for surfing. The waters are so blue as well. Different places for eating and drinking. If you're a tourist, you must go.

It is my favourite Bridge Enjoying a lot of fun. I have no desire to go there anytime but I will definitely go to life once.

My husband and I stayed there for about a week and we had the best time! Everything was perfect, from our room, to the breakfasts, chatting with other guests, Buckley the cat, and even the crazy airport guy that delivered our luggage rather late. We were in Wombat room. Very cozy and romantic The kitchen was well stocked with yummy breakfast food and Vegemite… ok that was weird… and yummy jelly for your toast. I cannot say enough good things! Then there was Bondi Beach which was just a quick walk up the road. The beach, the coastal walk, all the restaurants and coffee shops all just a quick walk! This place was amazing and we will be back.

What's not to love! Bondi Beach is one of the world's most famous beaches and after being there, I can see why. With its fine white sand and clean water. It is a safe swim, with well patrolled waters. Great waves just from padding which soon cool you down. Some great surf shops where you can also hire boards. One can also rent sun beds and umbrellas. A must place to visit when in Sydney!

Love this place! Wall paintings by local artists were amazing and it was so much fun to take photos with them. Beautiful beach and fun area to shop around.

The staff was friendly and created a very relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Beautiful beach near Sydney. You can even bring your dog for a swim. Walk along the cliffs on the left side of the beach and you will see stunning roch formations and see and feel the waves crashing into the cliffs. Pretty crowded on a sunny day but still enough space to lay down in the sun and watch the surfers. Bring a stinger suit when it's jellyfish season and be aware of the sharks.

Probably the most famous beach in Australia, often overcrowded in summer. Go there for a surf and watch the sunrise. Avoid if you are looking for a quiet beach!
