Really disappointing that they are not allowing a change in dates when I had to move them because I couldn’t travel to Sydney due to lockdown. First weekend out of lockdown and because of difficult family circumstances I can’t get there. They’ve just lost a customer who has stayed with them for several years.

We always stay here, it’s normally great price and best location. Rooms are big enough too. Such a shame about the breakfast buffet not available anymore though.

If I am paying $170 per night, I think I can expect basic room cleaning daily.
I have told many staff members for the same but they don’t bother about customers Its our problem that we give this much importance to these brand names.

Amazing customer service, was able to check in early. Nothing was any trouble. The lady and man at front desk were great… Massive shout out to the two ladies who looked after us in the restaurant for breakfast… they were lovely…

The best position, 2 minute walk to Chinatown and Paddys Markets, comfy beds, large TV good Wi-Fi, we had a bath as well, staff were absolutely polite and attentive, nothing was too much trouble, we ate dinner at their restaurant, had the popular Stone Grill Steak, great experience, breakfast was amazing, Jenny our waitress was lovely, highly recommended, will definitely be staying again.

Rooms are great, exactly what you need as a base to explore the city. Easily accessible and very close to the centre.

Great hotel I was upgraded to a king suite with a bottle of wine and a huge fruit platter. The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was a trouble to them, I throughly would recommend this hotel as one of my favourite.

Worst hotel, small room, small windows, impolite, rude staff, pathetic house keeping, unhygienic food practices: we were served expired milk in the room when I brought this to notice of house keeping staff (saara) she retorted that it's not my problem " very rudely, I was aghast … minus 5 stars. Appalling service and staff, have had various employees and contractors stay in over 1000 various hotel and resort style accommodations during my 15 years of running business and have never experienced the sheer level of open, disgusting and contemptuous racism our group was treated to here. People of color do not support Holiday Inn or their business.

So far so good. Friendly check in staff although bar staff need s rocket. 3 people waiting to be served while another bar staff is filling up ice buckets for the bar. Customers are more important than ice buckets.

The most warm welcoming hotel that I experience so much love, warm and greeted with such phenomenal sparkling smile from the staff name: Antonnette, she was indescribably awesome, passionate so much joy, smile and full of energy in her hospitality and warm welcoming us to the wonderful hotel. We are so blessed to have the hotel to host our 7th anniversary by hosting us a great white wine with strawberries chocolate in it. Thank You, Holiday Inn Darling Harbour. The rooms we stayed was an executive suite bed king room was spacious, comfy, near and superbly clean. Awesome and fantabulous refurnished new rooms. Great job of the management. The hotel is very well situated in all areas of Darling harbour, from 2-5 minutes walk to China town, where we are able to great Chinese foods of all kinds ranging from “Dim Sum” and authentic Chinese cuisine, they even have the famous Bornga Korean Restaurant that is a few minutes walk, and also if your want Japanese food they are also along the same street of minutes walk, just behind the great hotel. Hence, there is also Paddy’s Market, open from around 10am to closing around 5-6pm, there are lots of local souvenirs, clothings and many other local fruits and foods of delicacy in this market, next to it is the market city where you can find great range of food court upstairs that are wonderfully serve with a authentic medium range supermarket in it.

The service was horrendous. We checked in at night, the reception staff couldn’t be bothered! There was a weird smell in the hotel. We asked for jug of water and the staff said they don’t have a jug so they served water in a ice bucket!

Nice stay! The receptionist was very kind and professional at all times, I think her name was Antonette, French name but I think she is Asian though. The only thing was that by the time we checked out the duty manager, Indian probably, recommended us to rank them with a “9 or a 10” in the hotel feedback. I think that attitude was very unprofessional from this guy. That is mainly the reason of my 3 stars.

Stayed for week in August, this hotel is just opposite to darling harbor. Unfortunately you will not be able to see the harbor from the hotel. Pretty old hotel besides Paddy's market, makes it popular amongst tourists. Casual look at the lobby with friendly staff, made my late hour check-in smooth. The room corridor is ordinary and you can feel the oldness. Inside the room was two queen beds, with usually furnished. However the rooms are quite spacious. The bed was comfortable and provided both soft and hard pillows. The bathroom had basic amenities along with toiletries. There was a bathtub, which looked quite old in line with the room. There was a min bar which was empty and one has to ask to get it filled. The hotel has good quality breakfast and a good restaurant with special choices of food. Behind the hotel is Chinatown which again has many choices of food all throughout the day. It's a 15mins walk to the Central station. The taxis often get confused reaching this hotel, as most of the hotel is not visible from a distance. This due to a huge construction in the front. Overall its a good stay at a convenient location.

Overall positive experience, the rooms were clean bedding was pleasant, the in room dining staff were even kind enough to provide me with soy milk to have with my tea as I'm lactose intolerant. I tried to take 2 small muffins to have as morning tea back to my room from breakfast on one morning however was almost shouted at by one of the waitstaff as all food needs to be eaten in the breakfast hall. I understand that mass amounts of food is not fair to be taken but thought that 2 mini muffins would be okay, oddly no. Rooms are also quite old fashioned, reception staff were lovely though.

Great friendly service. Very accommodating when I had to switch my Queens bed booking to twin beds. Location right beside China town and market city full of vendors of all kinds. Plus the fruit vendor and malls near by made the stay support convenient. Plus it is the starting point of our group tour. Thorough ly enjoyed our stay there.

Excellent location, near paddy market, George Street, darling harbour. Rooms are neat and clean and big enough for two people. Very courteous staff.

I was in this hotel from 10th to 14th May. I like the room, clean and cozy. Breakfast is OK and well served. The staff is ready to help. The only little problem I found is on its JB's Bar, on the right side of Lobby. I and my colleagues took some drinks there. The staffs were not smile at all. They were gloomy when served us, like half-hearted service.

Very good budget hotel in CBD. Right at the heart of tourist attraction and easy place to station. Saturday night fireworks will be well placed to see from here. Rooms are best and affordable.

Room is clean and tidy. Most staff are friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. We could walk to many places such as the famous fish market, the hurricanes grill at darling harbour, Westfield shopping centre and circular quay.

Nice rooms and good buffet breakfast… can request for specially made eggs too… there is gym. Good enough and no pool… but it's centrally located and paddy market right down for Chinese stuff and very close to George Street and Pitt street for all the shopping. For going towards beaches buses are available. Keep opal card handy.

It is correct and has a very acceptable breakfast without being anything expensive. The location is supercentric.

I really liked this hotel. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable. There were two firm and two soft pillows. There was a mini fridge, not a mini bar. The hotel is located in the middle of China Town. If this is not to your liking that's fine. There are non-Asian food places within a few minutes walk. I found the walk to the Opera House to be not too far. I walked to the aquarium. I walked all over.

I'm generally easy to please, but my stay at this hotel was not a happy one. It is a very old, grotty, dated, dark, dank and smelly place. Cracks in the wall plaster and dark brown furnishings. Sticky carpet. It's also a real stretch to call it Darling Harbour. It's in the backblocks, in Chinatown, looking into a huge, noisy construction site. I was here on a business trip for three days, on my own, and found it miserable. I'd never go back.

Located right in the heart of Chinatown. The holiday inn darling harbour is a decent hotel, don't expect luxurious rooms. They have a bar/restaurant in the ground floor and also have an onsite gym, sauna and laundry service. I had a good stay here and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Would recommend staying here.

The Holiday Inn is ideally located right next to Chinatown and Darling Harbour. The rooms are a good size, clean and we'll appointed. I will definitely come back here again.

I really loved my stay during the Christmas Holiday season. It is located on the edge of China Town and City Market and the University campus. There were so many sites around the hotel. It's walking distance to Darling Harbor commercial district.
So lively, shops, music and dancing, train station at the corner, people walking til early hours of the morning. I almost wondering if the city didn't sleep.
The Hotel was updated and bright atmosphere; great staff, friendly and Good view from my window. Not to costly. Didn't eat in hotel to many outside options.
If I could make a suggestion, it would be to change toiletries. They are not good, in fact I remember these same ones stateside over five years past. Need some Spa products.

Excellent place to stay, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Spent 8 nights here. Food is excellent, rooms are very good.

It’s pretty basic. Service is good. No us adapters available for loan, only purchase. The TV has a USB port that works if the TV is on. Location is Chinatown. Room smells like a sauna, which I prefer to a soapy smell.

Staffs doing room service are great too. Check-in is quite hassle free. Other than all these positives, every other aspects are just average unfortunately. Nice hotel not very far from the Darling Harbour. It has 2 restaurants. Typical Holiday Inn service can be expected as with all Holiday Inn hotels in the world.

Location was 10 min from the station. Rooms were big but weren't that nice, but comforts let enough. Toilet flush was very week. Toiletries provided. Level 2 is called Laundry and literally smells like Laundry so try to avoid that floor. Staff were very friendly and nice.

Better than I thought. I had a room on lvl2 which seemed recently renovated. It was modern and clean. Great pillow options and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was modern and clean. Seperate shower which is much better than a shower in a Bath. I didn't eat there as there are many options close by as you are in the heart of China town.

Overpriced for dated, unserviced bathrooms, faulty equipment, dont order the $30 pizza unless you like the taste of salt and sauce. Smelly rooms, unventilated, rattly ac exhaust grill. Old amenities.

Good and comfortable stay. For someone looking for a normal place in Sydney and definitely would like to stay in the city; then I recommend this sweet spot place. A little bit of modernisation of the bathing room would be better.

Outstanding value for money. All of the inclusions of other hotels in the vicinity for a much lower price. Buffet breakfast for the whole family included as well. Well located and easy stroll to local attractions in and around Darling Harbour. Parking is not the easiest though!

I was very impressed by the friendly staff and their care for us. The food was beyond expectation. I would very happily return and recommend this place to my friends.

The staff were very helpful and the room was clean.

Older property but we'll maintained and clean. The room I was in had a desk and decent chair. Armchair and bag rack. Bathroom was a good size but the shower was over the bath and a bit awkward. It's actually located adjacent to Chinatown at the southern end of the darling harbour area. Decent option for cheaper accommodation for the conference centre or southern end of the city.

Really poor service huge wait to check in huge wait to get an afternoon soft drink at the bar huge wait for the man to get off his Facebook to give us a small bucket of ice smallest not impressed in any way — just going thru the motion get your money up front and basically don't waste our time when your here staying … not impressed really but paid a HUGE price for it,,,,

12 out of 10 asians I'm town will also be there, probably because of the nice location, close to Chinatown. Friendly staff, clean and nice pillows.

Great location, although if you're on a high floor, current view to the west over a demolition site is far from scenic. Room was spacious although sparsely furnished and certainly a bit tired. If you don't like sharing breakfast restaurant and lobby with lots of airline crew, this place is not for you.

Location is great. Hotel room is small for 5 people. 2 adults and 3 children paying $250 per night for executive room. We stayed for 3 days. Wasn't anything fancy for a 4 star hotel. House cleaning was good, but a bit more attention to detail in the bathroom. Any information about supermarkets in the area would be nice. JB's restaurant in the hotel was very nice. Very good food, especially the Sirloin steak. Children eat for free when adults dine in but make sure they don't charge you for them eating. We were charged $75.80 for a $59.90 meal and so they said they would refund the money but after 2 days still nothing has been refunded. Don't know if we'd ever go back. Depends on what we were doing.

There is no parking at the exact location of hotel and $30 for parking at a different hotel. Other than that quite a reasonable room and good connection of Wi-fi.

The location is great, 10 mins walk distance to Darling Harbour and 5 mins walk to Sydney City. It is also next to Chinatown, many great food can be found there.

Just spent 5 nights at the Holiday Inn, nice and clean, friendly staff, most impressed with the breakfast selection. Just a bit slow when we ordered coffee. And another time desert from the bar. We will be back, thank you.

It's a room to rest for the night. The whole place is a little tired and could use a big renovation. Given the quality of the hotels nearby at the same price point I'd honestly only stay here again as a last resort. On the plus side it has good access to Darling Harbour and all the surrounding restaurants.

I booking 3 days in this hotel. They told me the price will be 200+ for one night. But when I pay，they charge me$419for one day. If you do not want to waste money，then do not choose this hotel！.

It was perfect place for 2 adults with 2 kids with our budget. No view but handy to walk around city.

I would have rated this hotel much higher because the room was nice and the people at the desk were lovely. The food was nice and it is in an awesome location. BUT I gave them my car to valet and when I got it back it was broken inside on the centre console. This was not broken when I gave them the car. Its sounds small but it turns out it will cost almost $600 to fix it. I am furious. The manager was rude and dismissive to the point of being offensive. Unbelievable.

Stayed at this Hotel February 2014. I am very impressed with the Duty Manager Mr Francisco customer service. He was very friendly, very accommodating with my very short notice request. He has this "can do " attitude. The front office staff that check us in has a beautiful and friendly welcoming smile — Thank you. All the rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff are friendly, the house keeping staff clean the rooms so well. The porters are very helpful and friendly too. Overall, I will highly recommend this hotel. Very close to everywhere, walking distance to few attraction, staff are friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. To the management and staff of Holiday Inn Darling Harbour — keep up the good work. I will definitely recommend your hotel to anyone :).

Good food. And good service. Good scenery, nice coffee. This shop is very comfortable with nice seating. It has good decor. I found the staff nice and friendly. The price for coffee and food is not too expensive. I think this place is good value for money.
