Friendly staff great food, accommodation paid for :)

The place seems old and run down. While my room couldn’t be described as dirty — it was unclean, seemed damp and smelled slightly. The food in the restaurant was average quality — had breakfast and dinner on my first day. I walked out from breakfast on the second day without eating.

Very comfortable, clean & in-house food was great. Staff were great. Close to lots of things — it's an easy walk to the Bass Hill shopping centre & close to fuel, chemist etc.

Hi you may take the fact that I am replying and doing this review as the highest compliment possible.! Your people did you proud and provided excellent help and service. Informative patient and friendly. It meant a lot to me after an 11 hour train trip from western NSW. I tried all the nearby shops to purchase an Opal card for my travel the next morning. Unsuccessfully. While not your employee directly but influenced by the Rydges atmosphere… the Security Guard. Gave me his to save me the hassle in the morning. I have always stayed at Rydges Bass Hill and be assured… I always will… where every I may going in Sydney… Sincerely… Peter Ticehurst.

Nice locations, free parking, next door to McDonald's which is always helpful. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Rooms were nice, bathroom needed an upgrade though. Would go again.

The bed was comfortable but the rest of the furniture was dated. Lounge chair was ripped, stains on coffee and bedside tables. The shower was terrible… Very much just a drip coming out of the head. If you ran around you might catch it to actually get wet. Good Wi-Fi and network to connect to if working. Very average room even for the price that was paid.

Affordable room, bed was comfortable and the rooms clean. Close to fast food. Friendly staff.

The room is nice. Big enough for two people to stay in without feeling crowded. The hotel has a restaurant and bar but I find the price is a bit on the steep side. There are plenty of food options around that are healthy and resonable priced as well as shopping centers. Unfortunately there is no microwave but you do have a kettle and bar fridge. All in all its a good place for you to have as a base to explore from. The Wi-Fi seems to be adequate which is all you need to check your email or stay in touch with family and friends.

Stayed here to watch Melbourne Storm in the grand final, and it was definitely a great place worth visiting great prices, staff was genuinely great, food in the buffet breakfast was amazingly delicious. Has a big pool and bar, nice and cozy. All in all a great place to stay.

Just had the most unpalatable Pepper steak you could imagine. So much lemon on it I could not even imagine a pepper taste.

Great location, easy drive to many shopping centre's, attractions etc but away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney City. The rooms are clean and comfortable but starting to look a bit tired and a refurbishment is a must. Where this hotel excels is the staff. Great friendly service and the he food will also not disappoint. Worth a weekend stay.

Good price with good rooms. Would be nice if bar and pool was open till later.

Nice and clean. Easy to find and walkable to shops. Plenty of car parking space which is fantastic! Only downer is when they do housekeeping they tend to miss out something — I didnt get a spare toilet roll one day and the next day I was missing the bath mat so I had to use a hand towel. Would be nice if they provided a spare towel at least, not just enough for 2 guest. Overall great place, comfortable beds, spacious room for a queen bedroom. Breakfast buffet was great! But be there early, when I came down at 8am half the food was already gone.

We have stayed in this hotel more then 10 times. Every time there was great service, very clean rooms, great comfortable beds. Great place for a couple.

Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired, room closet a shame, I don't know where to place the clothes, there is no organization among waiters, I have had to lift in half dinner as these were chattering on the bar and the kitchen… With bland and ill-seasoned dishes. I'm not going back to this hotel.

Staff are wonderful, excellent parking, spacious foyer, and presents very well uppn entry. Unfortunately once you enter the rooms everything changes. The toilet ran constantly, rusty drain in shower, leaking tiles, perpetual noise from vent in bathroom, poor sound isolation so you could hear everything going on outside the room… The rooms need to be renovated — especially the bathrooms which are simply unaccepable for even a 3 star accommodation. Overall the Rydges Bankstown promises a lot but fails to deliver. At half price it would be barely acceptable. At full price it's not good enough.

Good sized, clean room. Beds we're comfortable. Bathroom was a little dated, but clean and functional. Had a only a little bit of road noise, bring ear plugs if you're really sensitive to sound. Continental breakfast had enough selection including fresh cut fruit and pastries ;). If I was in the area, I would stay here again.

Stayed in the king suite. Was overall clean but was a bit disappointed by the bed not facing the TV & the hairdryer not working. I've stayed before and have had no problems but I expected a bit more from the king suite.

Hotel too dirty and not serious, the old washing machine and only one that seems not only for the guests, even only dryer broken, old hotel without maintenance, the taps always leaked water, x close them well almost had to hurt you by dint of Squeeze, disappointment…

The staff member at the reception/booking desk went out of her way to be helpful trying to get some of my forms printed for a work interview 15 minutes before the interview. She didn't once complain when I struggled to find the links and attachments to the documents. The afternoon tea macarons (which I think were provided by the hotel? ) weren't the frozen type and were delicious. A bit awkward to get to (I missed the turn off the busy motorway and the signs there but not particularly eyecatching). Lots of free parking. Nothing too fancy but everything new looking and clean.

Clean, neat and tidy. Comfy bed with really soft sheets. Friendly staff, willing to help with my enquiries. Only negative, would be rust around the bath drain and clothes line hook… significant enough for me to think that they should be changed. However, very happy with the stay, and would again.

Accomodation is great. Breakfast buffet is good. Dinner however is a different matter. Avoid the butter chicken at all costs, boil in the bag at its worst and stingy serves. Best choices are chicken parmy and beef burger. Unfortunately there is nothing but junk food within walking distance so be prepared to drive to parramatta for dinner.

Clean and updated bedrooms. Nice food and the bar is okay. Macca's next door.

There was no hot water. Told the hotel attendant who doesn't seem to care, and was advised that there was "too many guests" and to wait for the next morning. Absolutely poor service and not accommodating to the guests needs. Never going back!

Comfortable and quiet, however basin tap was leaking, I alerted staff to this, why didn't housekeeping notice? Shower over the bathtub can potentially be dangerous.

Great value. Clean, tidy, décor is good. If you're after a good quality hotel at a reasonable price, I would recommend.

The staff were very helpful. Overall the experience was good. Beds were comfortable.

We stayed with our 5 months kid in R They organised Cot for us as I requested in online booking. Check-in was quick. Receptionist helped us in finding train to CBD. Room was nice & clean. Although, there is no covered parking. We will visit again & recommended for families.

In general our stay was fine, there seems to be a few changes in policy and the way things are done now compared to previous times I have stayed at this hotel. Just happy that this time I could book for one night as the last couple of times I was told I could only book for two nights or more even though I had been a regular guest at the hotel. The staff are always helpful and pleasant. Alana is a star on the front desk.

Great function rooms, freshly catered, and helpful staff. All rooms close to all amenities in the ground floor which was really helpful.

Was not informed prior to check in that a credit card was needed. Bed was so soft that there was no support and the paint from the bath/shower was coming off. Ive stayed in better for cheaper.

Staff were exceptional, especially Sabin, they were extremely polite & helpful. The rooms are a bit dated & could do with refurbishment, esp the bathrooms (get rid of the bath & put in shower recess) as you have to step into the bath to shower which for older people is difficult, not to mention fighting with the shower curtain. The room I was in (421) req'd the window latches repaired as one you could fully open — if children did this it's a long way to fall. The one thing that worked very well was the air-con, which is good as these rooms face towards the sun. Also the beds are soft, best sleep I've had in ages.

Nice rooms, very tidy and well maintained. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very quiet in the rooms. Free parking and 24hour reception.

The hotel was quiet, it felt relaxing. The rooms were lovely and had everything we needed. We had breakfast the next morning which was enjoyable, quite simple of course but that is standard for a buffet.

Great place to stay, restaurant was beautiful! Would recommend to everyone!

The best beds. Ever. The staff are lovely but unfortunately the place is a bit tired and housekeeping very zealous to make up your room; often entering while you're asleep, if you're a shift worker.

My bed was made to perfection. Shower was amazing.

The room at Rydges Bankstown was very comfortable. Bed was so comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely fantastic. Staff were friendly. Thanks for a great night.

The girl at the desk at check in was the loveliest person I have ever met, but you promised our room at 2pm, we had to wait 30mins to get in because a curtain rod needed to be put up, then we got interrupted in our room by staff twice, checking the rod was up, I then had to call the staff at the front desk at 11pm when I wanted a tea because the mini bar was locked, I also didn't take advantage of the buffet breakfast that I paid for In my package because your staff are great at manning the counter to make sure you have paid but not at telling people not to pick food up with their hands and putting it back for other people to eat, I must of seen 3 grubs doing that before I decided we would have breakfast elsewhere, I would not pay that type of money again just for a great bed and a not so great spa.

Everything was Fantastic, except for the service and attitude of the restaurant/bar staff.

Didn't like a drunk asian couple trying to get into my room at 3 am in the morning!. if the room can be vacuumed well that would be great as it was annoying smiling dust.

There were no bath towels in the room, had to use a hand-towel to shower with. The heating/air conditioning did nothing so it was freezing, and a couple of times there was a bad stench cigarette smoke getting into the room from somewhere. Not really impressed.

I wish I had something nice to say. I have stayed in my fair share of hotels, as well as many, many hostels — so I know what bad accommodation is — and all I can do is laugh at what I was charged for this nightmare of a stay in a hotel chain. I spent two nights at Rydges in Bankstown while attending a weekend seminar there. I encountered a number of problems during this visit. To list a few: — Every staff member I encountered was unfriendly. Except for one — but she turned out to be unknowledgeable about her own industry. — I was charged twice on my credit card for my stay. Am awaiting the cancellation of one of these charges. — The flush button on my toilet in my room got stuck down several times so it kept running loudly and I had to fix it each time. — On the first night I was woken by a loud, high-pitched buzzing noise which lasted for an hour, from 5am to 6am. Never worked out what that noise was. — The temperature gauge to my room was not working, which resulted in uncomfortably restless nights. — The shower head was ridiculously spitty. My intentions to not wash my hair by tying it up were thwarted by the nozzle that sprayed everywhere. — An attempt at enjoying a relaxing bath was destroyed due to the bathroom fan not being able to be turned off so the water was reduced to lukewarm prematurely. — This bath got even more unpleasant when I attempted to remove the bath plug — it was the inappropriate size for that bathtub.

The bar is open and working on a blinder.
